    Hollow Knight is a game that mixes beautiful art, sound and level design with challenging boss fights, amazing exploration and hours of content. It is for a price that is way to low for it's quality so there is no excuse to not buying it. Go in blind (like I did) and you will truly have a 10/10 experience

    Da un poco de pena terminar el juego ya que entrega a lo largo de las horas jugadas una sensación de haber aprovechado mas, con ganas de rejugarlo (en lo personal no hay muchas), eso si los logros bien puestos así como la curva de dificultad, el precio es un regalo para lo que ofrece. La música majestuosa y el diseño de ambiente y personajes, entrañable.

    Este juego es una obra maestra, fue hecho por 3 personas y tiene mucha más calidad que algunos juegos hechos por estudios de mucha gente. La música, el diseño de arte, variedad y diseño de enemigos, combate, mecánicas e historia son realmente magistrales.

    This is one of the greatest games I've ever played.
    Give it a try. You won't be disappointed. Verdict: An absolute must play. Rating: Gameplay: 5/5 - Smooth AF. Exploration is absolutely great. There's nothing I'd want change.     Crafted with love and care, the game is unfortunately held back by its genre. If you're a fan of Metroidvania titles, this may be one of the best and the creator demonstrates a mastery of the genre. For anyone else, it may be worth admiring from a distance. Very creative, but it isn't fun.

    I can't believe it took me this long to play the game. What a blast! I absolutely love the atmosphere, the characters and the smooth platforming/combat.

    Can be confusing sometimes where to go next, but that also adds to the experience.

    If you love video games, one of the best games ever is this one. Everything in this game is awesome, graphics, music, difficulty, duration.

    It’s an absolute challenge but it deserves it, don’t think about it, play Hollow Knight as soon as possible.

    I finally decided to play Hollow Knight after seeing the game success. The graphics are superb but I’ve decided to quit the game after 5 hours of gameplay because of the following reasons: the game is quite hard but becomes even harder due to a poorly implemented control system that causes the character not to jump despite having pressed the jump button or not firing despite having pressedI finally decided to play Hollow Knight after seeing the game success. Moreover, there is no option to lower the level of difficulty, so you are forced to waste tons of hours replaying the same levels.     It is a truly great game, with great music and great art, but you get really confused about playing it, and if you don't like metroidvanias, buy it on sale. it goes for pretty cheap

    One if not the best gaming experience I have ever had. The feeling of immersion is so great that when I played Hollow knight I wasn't me in my couch, I was exploring the eternal kingdom of Hallownest.

    This game is a masterpiece. It's simply hard to come to terms with the fact that this game was created by an indie team of 3 people.     Fantastic. Makes me want to explore and gave me back the feeling of being lost. Does everything other metroidvanias do well and do it better. I only disliked the abilities and collection dreams in late game was exhausting and repetitive, specially because of the backtrack.

    La atmósfera de Hollow Kight se caracteriza por un sentimiento de nostalgia muy bien logrado por su música suave y agradable, así como los gráficos y texturas que son de colores más bien oscuros, pero profundamente detallados. Es realmente destacable la dedicación que se le dio a los gráficos en este juego; son preciosos, muy bien logrados y diversos, a pesar de lo larguísimo que es el juego. Y ése es precisamente otro punto que destaca, Hollow Knight es un juego bastante largo para su género. En mi caso, le dediqué un total de 50 horas y es que este juego es profundamente adictivo, el sistema de progresión te obliga a seguir avanzando entregando horas y horas de entretención.
    Sin embargo, como todo juego también existen puntos negativos, los cuales me impiden otorgarle la calificación máxima. Particularmente, la sensación de no saber qué hacer me persiguió durante toda la experiencia, en un punto del juego me vi obligado a leer guías para saber cómo seguir avanzando. El juego te da ciertas libertades en términos del orden de las zonas que visitas, pero muy poca información, de hecho los diálogos e historia son mínimos. El contexto del juego es algo que debemos inferir de los personajes que nos encontramos o el estado de los mapas que visitamos. Para un juego tan bello como Hollow Knight, realmente no se entiende la falta de contenido en cuanto a la historia. Ocurre lo mismo con la dificultad, desde mi punto de vista la curva de dificultad es muy alta, lo que podría provocar que jugadores no asiduos al género terminen dejando de lado este título, porque realmente existen niveles que son muy complejos para los que se debe tener bastante coordinación y habilidad.
    A pesar de estos dos puntos, Hollow Knight es un tremendo juego, que destaca por sobre otros de su género y probablemente se convierta en un clásico. Muchas horas de juego, gráfica hermosa, música agradable y jugabilidad profunda. Recomendable al 100% para cualquier jugador!    … Expand

    What a fantastic game Hollow Knight is! I went into this not expecting much, and came out a different gamer (this was my first ever metroidvania). Wow! Everything in it is just sublime - the atmosphere, the music, the progression system, the charms, the lore, the artwork, gameplay is sharp as a needle - it's just superb. One of the best games I've ever played.

You will like mario tennis ace because you can’t get lost in a tennis court.
    - when i think about it, the music was one of the best i heard in games in a few years.

    For $15 and free additional content, i don’t have complain. Except primal aspids, watch out for that, it’s a flying satan turd from hell    … Expand

    People are crazy. This is just a beautiful cover on boring platforming gameplay. I gave a few hours and nothing except the art style makes me want to continue. There are many flaws right from the start. When he hits someone a gigantic splash covers a lot of the screen, that sucks. Why are there still platformers being made? Mark of the Ninja is a vastly superior way to approach platforming with some creativity, this is straight dumb. Rayman Legends comes to mind as well. Haven't tried Celeste, but this sucks, so I'm not hopeful that all the positive reviews on Celeste mean anything. Don't buy this, it's lame, unless it's like $2, it's worth that just for the pretty.… Expand

    This game changed me. I love it. The soundtrack is gorgeous, and the backgrounds and side characters are creative. I loved how I pieced together the lore by journeying through the different kingdoms. The controls are satisfying and I really loved that the game gave me so much freedom in terms of where I wanted to explore or what I wanted to do next. My only complaint is I wish this had anThis game changed me. I love it. The soundtrack is gorgeous, and the backgrounds and side characters are creative.     Hollow Knight is so good. But it might be too big for its own good at times. It makes exploration so satisfying but sometimes backtracking can be a bit of a slog since most tram stations are so far apart and the map is so large. That being said this is one of my favorite games ever. Very excited for Silksong.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I desperately want to give this game a 10. The metroid-like elements are honed to a tee and the highs of some of the challenges, power-ups, and discoveries are second-to-none.

    But the game doesn't respect your time. Wasting 3 hours in Kingdom's Edge looking for the mapmaker. Wasting 4 hours trying to leave an area that is beyond your ability from a checkpoint. A pointless 2nd phase for the Soulmaster boss that negates the high from the punishing 1st (and should be only) phase--or the grind to even get back to him in the first place! A tedious platforming challenge in the White Palace. The list goes on, unfortunately.

    FYI, I beat the game w the True Ending at 95% completion. But I feel about 15 of my 50 or so hours was wasted unnecessarily, hence the 2-point knock to its score.    … Expand

También cuenta con una historia muy destacable a pesar de no estar presente de forma explícita en el juego; posee personajes muy carismáticos y eventos muy impactantes eEs un juego realmente sorprendente, visualmente tiene un estilo hermoso y espléndido, además de una jugabilidad que, a pesar de no ser agradable para todo el mundo, está muy bien estructurada y es extremadamente divertida. El juego posee una gran calidad en todos los aspectos y es comparable con juegos de mayor presupuesto, es una de las mayores obras Indies y personalmente uno de los mejores juegos de la industria creados hasta ahora. I loved the way the World of the game toll a story with its art and locations which felt liked left out key details as to its history that lead to speculations lore theories that i can't get tired of. Hollow Knight has an amazing atmosphere around every corner, a story that made me want to learn everything I could about the world. The only thing that I think was a problem is how some bosses are located far away from benches (save spots) so every time you die you have to take a long trek back. This is especially bad if the route to the boss is populated with enemies. However, the few instances of that were not enough to sour this game for me and was small enough that the game is still a 10/10.… Expand

    Starts off a bit rough for my taste, but the more it draws you in, the more it gives back. Exploration is rewarded, trying out different builds is fun and to top it off the game has amazing world-building.

    Took me 70 hours to complete this game. I am not a hard core gamer but this game was so fun to play I wanted to stick with it and play more and more. Simply amazing game. Gameplay is wonderful, music is flipping awesome, and yeah, the art style is the best thing about this game.

Later on, you'll unlock more powers which'll make movement and combat easier. The level design is top notch. There's no instant death spikes, cheapouts, or anything that just feels unfair.     I decided giving a chance to Hollow Knight and...OMG, this is definitely my favorite 2D game (been playing since SNES/Mega Drive). Actually I’d say it’s one of my favorite games of all genres.

I didn’t google anything until after beating the egg, my only gripe is I had some hallways highlighted that I had been there when I hadn’t which made me miss badges and the one pale ore I couldn’t find. I´m not going say more about the plot, because it´s all spoiler worthy. The controls are fluid and responsive. The world is massive and there´s lots to do and explore. The game also looks very great, particularly the sprite of the Knight looks great and is well animated. The soundtrack also is great. It´s very atmospheric with catchy tunes being reserved for the boss-fights. The boss-fights are one of the highlights of Hollow Knight. The patterns of the bosses are fun to avoid and they really are a test of your skill. All in all, Hollow Knight is a phenomenal experience that I think that you should try. It´s biggest flaw is that it´s only 15 bucks digitally. I would recommend that you give Hollow Knight at least a try.… Expand

    A truly must play! The visuals, the atmosphere, the level design, the bosses, an incredible experience all around, would highly recommend! Its been called the dark souls of 2d metroidvanias and it definitely feels that way, don't let that put you off, the game can be tough but never feels unfair, the fact that this was made by an incredibly small indie team makes it even more deserving of praise.

One minute you are fighting some monsters and the other ur trying to use your nail as a pogo stick. The charms fit well with the setting and all offer different things which start to make the thought of combos.

    The monsters and NPC's. This is a true highlight of the game. The monsters have well-thought attacks to fit with the environment and give the place ambience and The NPC's have empathetic feelings and show great set of personal skills.

    Music. I know at this point I'm just blabbing on but it is so good. The music is great. Really, compliments to Mr.larkin. They fit so well with the background and boss of the area. Its gives of a nostalgic sense for people who have played it for a long time.

    Bosses. The bosses are diverse in there attacks, their own story, and their appearance. It gives off a feeling that there is more (and there will be more when silksong cones out!).

    Map. The map is MASSIVE. It is so well thought about and well designed that it's probably one of the best bits about it. From abandoned depths to great cities, it includes everything.

    The art. I saved the best till last here. The art style is admirable and cure, but still can be threatening and scar. City of years shows so much in terms of what they could do with their cartoony yet formal drawing.

There's so much to discover, even outside of the story, and it's way better to figure this game out on your own in its entirety rather than relying on help guides.

    Difficulty - The bosses in this game range from relatively easy to brutally difficult. Depending on the paths you choose to complete the game, you can also have a harder time than others might have had. The level design of the game does a great job of pushing you towards the "default" path so nothing should really feel unfair. Chances are if you are struggling with a boss, you could have missed something that would have made that fight a lot easier. It's totally cool to take a break by looking around and seeing if you missed anything, or maybe a break was just what you needed in order to collect your thoughts and try again? A couple of commenters mentioned lacking abilities for a game of this type and I could tell they did not play the game in its entirety as they no doubt would have known about things they most likely "missed". Slow down. Take your time and enjoy yourself.

    Level Design - As stated above, the level design will seem to "push" you towards where you need to go. That doesn't mean you won't be exploring, but there are certainly ways to go off the beaten path and beat the game in an entirely different order. Just keep in mind that straying off the path can take somewhat difficult fights and make them an altogether more brutal challenge. The placement of the different "biomes" throughout this little world is very finely tuned, as well are the objects and enemies within them.

    Graphics - This isn't the most graphically intensive game around and I'm not really sure what people are expecting. I have this game on the switch and xbox one, and both versions are beautiful.

    Overall, this isn't a game you can necessarily sleep your way through and beat. There will be trial and error, but nothing is so punishing that it feels unfair. Enjoy the ride because it's nothing short of spectacular if you really give it a try for what it is.    … Expand

It is a huge, fairly open Metroidvania with something around the corner, no matter that be one of the many quirky characters, or a big, powerful boss. The fact that you can be in the fungal wastes which is covered in spores and then 2 seconds later drop down to the city of tears this huge raining city just amazes me. All the bosses were hard (some extremely hard) but felt fair at the same time. They give signals whether it be with sound or an animation that always got you learning their move patterns and trying to figure out when to dodge. I’m reading reviews that are saying they die a lot on the boss fights which is true. 99% of the time you are not going to beat the boss in 1 try. Which in my opinion is good. If you beat the boss in one try is that even enjoyable? I love all the bosses in the game because each one feels different then the others with a unique set of moves to memorize. The overall aesthetic of the game is beautiful too. I also hear complaints of not knowing what to do next which I feel adds on to the charm of the game. It allows you to explore the whole map on your own without shoving in your face where to go and what to do. Sometimes you’ll find yourself not even trying to beat a certain boss but just walking around the map trying to find places you haven’t explored yet. It is a hard game I’ll give it that but throughout playing you start to understand the mechanics of the game and will even be enjoyable for the casual gamer. Oh and by the way it’s $15.… Expand

If you enjoy immersion in a game where the music and aethesitic pulls you in and never let you go, then jump right in and enjoy the ride.     I really like this game, but the part jumping on the thousandlegs-bug spawned my ghost in the middle of the section, even though you ALWAYS start at the beginning when dying. And because the game does not give you the option to travel to the bank at that part I lost 900 geos. That is some dumb sh*t

    I do not give a 10 so easily, im giving it right now for this game and also Shovel knight, and there is a thing in common with this games, prepare for the cringe, the thing has "love".

    This game is amazing. When I first played the game I thought it was hard and boring so I stopped playing. Months later I played a few hours and got sucked in. Great combat, platforming, stunning score and soundtracks and really interesting story and characters. The beginning might be a bit overwhelming if you are new to the genre.     This is, by far, my favorite game of all time! A wonderful adventure with an amazing world, combat, art, music, and story. The navigation and difficulty is what people usually complain about, but I find them to be the best parts. The game lets you get lost on a fantasy epic all your own. Can't wait for Silksong!

    Great graphics, great soundtrack, great gameplay. For me the game was a bit to difficult. But i guess i'm not a trained gamer. Therefor the game was a bit to long for my personal preferences. That being said, the game is worth the buck!

    Hollow Knight is a modern masterpiece! It has the whole package: great art design, nice music, an isolated atmosphere with great ambience, interesting characters and totally ACE gameplay that offers an actual and very enjoyable challenge. Plus, it runs buttery smooth on the Switch. Team Cherry nailed the Metroidvania genre on their first try! This game is a steal for it's price.

    Hollow Knight is an incredible achievement that combines smart game design, a rich world, and sharp combat, with an enthralling insectoid world and a story just begging for you to find it. Team Cherry’s title is a high watermark for Metroidvanias, as the satisfying abilities and countless collectibles add variety and meaning to exploration, rewarding every discovery. Yet, while the challenge is a rewarding part of the process, I do wish that the title made some concessions and shone a bit of light in the darkness for those first fledgling steps.
