My big deception. The game is very boring. Not a lot variety here, no fun. Always the same run again and again Not enough weapons and ennemies. I prefer enter the gungeon or binding of isaac rebirth.

Expand

I really wanted to like this game, interesting art style, procedurally creates levels, etc., but it is impossible. Imagine a game that takes no effort to give you any guidance, not even the absolute minimal instructions, controls that are clumsy and such a poor variety of enemies (or actually even things to do) that it wouldn’t be out of place being free-to-play. Imagine how annoying and frustrating that would be. This game is poor, it’s a low level attempt to do something greater; an aspiration that it does not achieve at all. Your money and time are much better spent elsewhere. Expand

To be honest, this is a very good looking game.
I bought it during a sale for just €6,-
From the moment I started it up, I felt confused. The art style looks nice, but I have no clue what I’m supposed to do. It seemed like a fun game, but I have no clue what this game is all about. I find myself running around clueless. There’s barely any variety in enemies. I don’t really like it.

I don’t really like it. Neither for €6,- but glad I didn’t buy it at it’s original price.

This game has great art direction, but that's where the positives stop for me. I think this is an overly basic game with precious little to offer. You fumble through it until you need to look up a basic guide online to understand the differences between items and what the glyphs mean or do. I played for an hour and was bored by the end of it. I would not recommend unless you like basic, mindless, arcade-y shooters. I wanted some story, some semblance of meaning to it all, but it's just a boring game wrapped in very eye-catching presentation. I think the critics missed the mark on this one. Expand

GoNNER has more than enough going for it to make it worth getting, so go and get it while the getting's good. [Issue #29, p. 20]

GoNNER stands out for its peculiarity, its merciless difficulty level and the audiovisual experience that it provides. While it may not be a game for everyone, it's definitely a game that should be tried by as many players as possible - like it or not, nobody will be indifferent to GoNNER's elements.

While GoNNER may be brutally hard, there’s plenty to find rewarding if you’re someone who doesn’t get frustrated too easily, or who can appreciate the diverseness that the randomly generated roguelike can exhibit. Underneath the game's pastels of bright and intense coloring, there’s great gameplay systems waiting to be explored. If you’re the type of person who loves tight 2D platforming and shooting in your games, then GoNNER isn’t something to be slept on.
