  • Summary: Gang Beasts is a silly local multiplayer party game with doughy ragdoll physics and horrific environmental hazards. In the current pre-alpha players can grab, push, pull, punch, and throw their friends from wrestling rings, speeding trucks, and suspended platforms.

Unless you categorically hate having fun, Gang Beasts’ hilarious and deceptively simple physics-based combat is an absolute blast, especially when played locally with friends and family. Sure, it could perhaps be a bit more fleshed out in terms of modes, and playing online may not result in the same level of fun as local play. However, when viewed purely as a local multiplayer party game, which you can’t help but feel is the way it was intended to be played, I can’t think of many experiences that are as capable of entertaining for an evening in the way that Gang Beasts is.

Between the pros of a hybrid form ideal for local multiplayer and the cons of a network experience with the handbrake on, the Switch conversion of Gang Beasts defends itself enough to provide the Nintendo audience with the opportunity to recover one of the parties craziest brawler in recent years. Although we are not in the presence of the best edition among those seen on consoles, the immediacy and the lively disorder of the formula put together by Boneloaf return here without alterations, guaranteeing a few hours of genuine leisure to anyone who has the opportunity to recruit a few friends. well-disposed to give them -virtually- of good reason.

Gang Beasts' charm has always been its janky, unpredictable, chaotic physics brawling, and you'll either be pleased or disappointed to know that it hasn't changed too much since 2014. On Switch, it runs well in Local and Online mode, although the Switch's voice chat options make the latter a less appealing choice. If you're a fan of portable party games, though, this is a classic not to be missed.

A little late to the party, Gang Beasts find its home on Nintendo Switch, maybe the best place to play it, thanks to the possibility of multiplayer "on the go" and its demographic. It's still the same strange game that shines in multiplayer offline, but offering nothing more and nothing less than mayhem and silly fun.

A fun party game with which to spend the afternoon with friends laughing and enjoying jelly. It is true that it is not as perfect as it could be. However, it is a safe bet if we want to have a good time.

This notorious party game is a great fit for Nintendo Switch and if you’re having a party over at your place, you’ll also be having a laugh thanks to the silly, angry fighting creatures. The sad fact is that it’s missing content that really should be there and the online play is simply bad.

Gang Beasts will always be a game I enjoy to play, but the release on Nintendo Switch was definitely disappointing. Although I loved it prior to this, I can't help but feel put off from picking it up for a while. I wish there had been something new and exciting for this brilliant release, but I guess we just have to keep waiting.

You certainly have to be in the right mood, but once you are, sit down with a couple of friends (couch co-op is amazing) and just do stupid stuff. I feel like the game does suffer from lack of stages, as the ones provided are pretty good, but if they just added 5-10 more this game would be legitimately amazing. Expand

Both “wacky physics” and local multiplayer games have a tendency to suffer from people having extremely positive or negative views of them,Both “wacky physics” and local multiplayer games have a tendency to suffer from people having extremely positive or negative views of them, either embracing and “getting” the style of play or likely despising it. The fact that Gang Beasts mashes them both together in one pretty silly package is a credit to having some confidence or just plain nerve, and while nuanced fighting fans will likely find playing it akin to fingernails on a chalkboard, if you’re able to take a step back and embrace the button-mashy goofiness of it there’s still just enough strategy in flailing and taking down enemies to give it some appeal. A few modes help flesh it out further (including one co-op) with some variety, and you could hope the potential for some online play would throw some challenges your way periodically, but the joy here is really about in-person play, laughing, smack talking, and making a ruckus as the on-screen action plays itself out. If you’re looking for a good time with some friends who maybe aren’t the most able gamers, Gang Beasts has a lot going for it.
