Fe isn't for those gamers that like "action" - Fe is a relaxing, exploring/adventuring game, enjoying the sounds, creatures and so on.
My opion is that the critics a bit to hard on the game. Zoink! studios made a little fantasy gem but gets punished of the legacy from EA.

Beautiful art direction and soothing music make it a great game to unwind after a long day. Gameplay is fun and some puzzles can be challanging if you're going after all collectable crystals and other secrets. Fe's open world offers lots to discover in every location which makes the exploration aspect fun and rewarding.

Loved the unique way the story was unfolded and how it worked so well with core gameplay mechanics.

The only downside is Switch optimization - in busy areas the frame rate drop was noticeable, at least in the handheld mode. That's the only negative thing I've found about this game.

Having said that, basically everything about this game is charming - 9/10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

"Fe" is a game I didn't learn much about until a few months ago at a Nintendo Direct Mini for the Switch. Though I had heard of the game before, I had no idea what it would be like. Even as someone that doesn't really care much for EA's output, I had to see what the game was like, and I walked away having loved it.
"Fe," as I said earlier, is an absolutely beautiful game: the score, the visual design, the art direction, you name it, this game looks and sounds absolutely gorgeous. As I was playing it, I was so enamored of the beautiful art design that even slower parts of the game were so beautiful to witness. The game itself also plays wonderfully; even as a game that tells you absolutely nothing other than basic controls (there's no dialogue whatsoever), it's a game that's easy to get into, and you won't find yourself getting lost or wondering "what do I do next?" And even as a game that tells you nothing, I felt like the story and characters were so captivating, and I found myself connecting with Fe, the main character, and always wanting to find out new things about the Silent Ones and their connections to Fe. Everything about the game just sucked me right in, and I didn't want to put it down.
I will point out that, much like "RiME," which I reviewed last year, this game isn't for everyone: while the platforming and action-adventure elements are easy to get into, the game takes a very hands-off approach and tells you absolutely nothing, which could be a turn-off for some. For me, however, I was so in love with everything the game had to offer that I thought it was such a brilliant experience. "Fe" is a game you should absolutely play, and I think EA deserves a shoutout for not finding some way to massively screw this one up. It's a wonder to behold, and it's absolutely worth your time.
Final rating: 10 out of 10 "Fantastic"

Fe is a very lovely-looking game and somewhat feels like a good 3D equivalent of Ori. The only thing I can criticize, however, is its technical performance, what with the 30 FPS (instead of the much-preferred 60 FPS) and small, but occasional pauses (like a brief lock-up, except it never actually crashed). If the developers were to fix these issues, that'll be great!

    All I can honestly

So when I first saw Fe I saw everything that amazed people but with one thing that made it light years better: FUN. Fe for someone who grew up on 3D platformers is a blast. It's got some really solid platforming and the controls are pretty good. The game oozes with charm, every creature you befriend in the game just feel alive. The use of colors is awesome, letting you know whether the area is dangerous or safe. The story was decent up until the end. The ending to be honest was a letdown since when the credits start rolling you're stuck sitting there wondering, "wait, it's over?" The game does lack some polish and it's bad enough to were you are reminded that it's still a indie game. The game does have a lot of charm, but it doesn't excuse the frame stuttering and bugs that plague this game. HOWEVER, things like bugs can be easily patched so some polish may be applied later down the line and hopefully the frame-rate on the switch version will be stabilized. Expand

Fe is, simply put, beautiful. The music and everything else create a really immersive experience. The game is a little bit short so I'd recommend only buying it for less than 20€, but it's a really good experience

I wish more of the games from EA has this Quality and Detail. It's very uncommon game style but I like it.

Despite being one-note on a gameplay level, Fe's world, with its lush environments and wistful score, compels you to explore. Establishing fleeting connections with the creatures around you is both charming and a little sad, and learning the truth about the enemy machines is even more tragic. By the end, the most important thing you've learned is how to connect with nature, not just by singing with animals but by understanding the world around you.

It doesn't matter how clever or interesting your idea is, or how stunning and vibrant your game looks when it's just no fun to play. Perseverance with Fe could ultimately yield some satisfaction but for me it was just too boring.
