Apr 6, 2017Fast RMX is a blistering fast racer with a very balanced set of vehicles and a nice selection of tracks. It's perfect for some single player score chasing or some multiplayer competition, and it looks great while doing it - though it could've used a few more options here and there. That doesn't really hinder what we've been offered however, and Fast RMX is a racing game I'm happy to recommend to absolutely anyone who might be looking for one. It's just that good.
-
Mar 21, 2017I find myself extremely impressed by RMX. It takes everything about Neo and improves upon it, while also adding in new features and tweaks that make it suitable for both play at home and on the go. As a launch title, RMX boasts a level of thoughtfulness and polish that isn’t often seen until well into a console’s life cycle. I can’t recommend enough that players go and download this game; it’s a gorgeous nod to the sci-fi racers of old while still establishing its own identity. I can’t wait to see what Shin’en does next on Switch!
-
CD-ActionApr 26, 2017If you haven’t played Fast Racing NEO on Wii U (or you have and you want more of the same, but prettier), if you miss F-Zero, if you can’t wait to get your hands on the new Wipeout, don’t think twice about buying Fast RMX. [05/2017, p.71]
-
Mar 22, 2017By combining the best gameplay elements from monumental futuristic racing franchises such as F-Zero and Wipeout, Fast RMX delivers a solid, technical impressive and absolutely rich experience.
-
Mar 19, 2017It sounds like blasphemy, but if F-Zero is truly dead and buried by Nintendo, I hope they consider just giving Shin'en Multimedia the reigns. No interference, just some minor IP oversight, and let them do their own thing. They clearly know what they're doing, and have jammed a fully-fledged racer into a tiny eShop pricepoint.
-
Mar 15, 2017FAST Racing RMX feels like a modernised F-Zero in every regard. Its gameplay feels fluid and engaging, and the track design is arguably better than any other game of its kind. Casual players will enjoy the opportunity to race with friends or online, while hardcore genre fans will have some hefty challenges to speed through. Shin’en Multimedia has outdone itself with this one, and Nintendo should be proud to have the small but talented studio developing for its system - it’s a game which will feel right at home on any Switch console.
-
Mar 8, 2017In short FAST RMX is as good as the Wii U original and then some. Updated visuals, more tracks, more vehicles, it's an utterly outstanding launch title for the Switch. With the console's ability to allow multiplayer on the go rolled in, this is without doubt essential for racing fans with the new console.
-
Mar 8, 2017Fast RMX doesn’t reinvent the series, but it does bring anti-gravity racing to a Nintendo console at launch for the first time in many years. It is a perfect pick-up for fans of the genre that grew up on F-Zero and wanted something to follow in its footsteps. It controls like a dream using the JoyCon grip and feels as natural as using a more traditional controller. It’s also one of the best-looking games on the system and takes what was already an incredible experience on the Wii U and improves it with more content. The online setup is flawed, but what little is there is executed well. Fast RMX is an outstanding game and one of the Switch’s best launch titles.
-
Mar 6, 2017Fast RMX does a tremendous job of capturing the feeling of blazing around the race track. The combination of visuals, audio and technical prowess makes for an incredibly sound and fun game. The lack of online options at launch is disappointing, but still doesn’t detract from the overall experience. With Fast RMX, Shin'en Multimedia has managed to deliver a triple A experience for a third of the price.
-
Mar 6, 2017FAST RMX is arguably the 2nd best launch title on the Nintendo Switch right next to Breath of the Wild. The gameplay is fast and responsive, the presentation is gorgeous, and at $19.99 is the best value on the Nintendo Switch. If you are a fan of games like F-Zero or Wipeout, or racing in general, FAST RMX should be on your Nintendo Switch without a doubt.
-
Mar 21, 2017Generally speaking, there is very little not to like about Fast RMX. If you dumped a lot of hours into Fast Racing or Fast Racing Neo, ok, maybe there’s not enough content here for you to warrant a re-purchase, but I don’t think anyone is seriously in that boat. Instead, what you have is a really compelling, slick racer that gets the core gameplay done right and does it in style. For Switch owners, consider it a priority release.

Nintendo Force MagazineApr 24, 2017A well-built racer that certainly stands up to the legendary pedigree of the F-Zero series. [Issue #27 – May/June 2017, p. 21]
-
Mar 20, 2017Fast RMX is a great looking, fast paced racer. It offers a lot more tracks than Fast Racing NEO and gives you a real challenge. Still it misses some features like a practice mode. But it is a very good start for racers on the Switch!
-
Mar 15, 2017Fast RMX is... well, fast! With more tracks and ships and local multiplayer with up to 4 players at 60fps is a good choice for your brand new Nintendo Switch.
-
Mar 15, 2017Brilliant as a futuristic racing game, with a bunch of circuits, great gameplay and sense of speed. The bad part: it's too similar to the Wii U version of the game, but it's also one of the best launch titles for Nintendo Switch.
-
Mar 12, 2017Fast RMX continued to grow on me the more I played it. While the lack of online features is a bit of a downer, the sheer amount of things to do is well worth the small asking price.
-
Mar 12, 2017Fast RMX is not exactly charming, but it is definitely a strong racing game. No matter if you play in handheld mode, on the television, alone or with friends, Fast RMX is a fast challenge in any setting.
-
Mar 8, 2017Fast RMX is one of the best Switch launch titles, delivering an impressive futuristic racing game that F-Zero's fans should definitely enjoy.
-
Mar 7, 2017It doesn't have many new features compared to the Wii U version, but if you enjoy futuristic racers, it's a must have. In any case, one of the best games of the Switch's launch line-up.
-
Mar 6, 2017It’s an impressively fast and well-playing arcade racer that will constantly keep you on your toes. While it could use a little more depth when it comes to single player progression, the racing itself is fantastic and quite addicting.
-
Mar 3, 2017Fast RMX is a widely enhanced reissue of the currently fastest racing game, sporting 30 tracks, an unbelievable speed and challenging course design. But with some modes missing from the Wii U original the motivation takes a downturn here and then.
-
Mar 6, 2017Fast RMX is an excellent arcade racer that combines gorgeous graphics that really show off the Switch's potential with addictive gameplay style. A must-have based on the quality/price ratio.
-
games(TM)Jun 14, 2017The kind of racer nobody else seems to want to make these days. [Issue#186, p.79]
-
Apr 6, 2017Overall, Fast RMX is a blast, especially for the low cost-to-entry on the eShop. It may not fully satisfy those who have been clamoring for a new F-Zero for so many years, but it certainly comes closer than any other game that springs to mind. While the game’s content might not be able to hold certain players’ attentions for lengthy periods of time, Fast RMX’s capacity for fun multiplayer, especially at the local-level, makes it an easy recommendation.
-
Apr 6, 2017An extremely polished high-speed racer at home or on the go, FAST RMX is an essential Switch launch title worthy of anyone’s collection.
-
Mar 31, 2017This game is a must-play for sci-fi racing fans who own a Switch, especially if you dream about the day a new F-Zero game comes out. It’s not exactly the same, but evokes a strong classic feeling with a few new twists that make it both fresh and familiar.
-
Mar 30, 2017Good tracks and great racing combine in this well-positioned futuristic racer. It’s nothing groundbreaking, and is very similar to its predecessor, but it has enough new content and multiplayer fun to keep me coming back for hours.
-
Mar 19, 2017FAST RMX is a thrilling futuristic racing game that combines hair-raising speed with rich visual environments and a smooth delivery that ensures the experience goes without major flaws. An essential title in the growing catalog of the Nintendo Switch.
-
Mar 19, 2017It isn’t F-Zero, but there’s a good, fun challenge here for anyone with an anti-grav racing itch.
-
Mar 15, 2017A fantastic contrast to the other slow-paced, open-world launch game you’re playing.
-

-
Mar 14, 2017An excellent racer that’s every bit worth picking up to add to your arsenal of Nintendo Switch games. There are plenty of tracks, vehicles, and reasons to keep coming back for more. But the one you can’t ignore is the greatest of all: The speed. It may not be the racing game you asked for on the Switch, but it’s the racing game you didn’t know you needed.
-
Mar 13, 2017FAST RMX is a solid experience, one of the most recommended games in the eShop so far. Better than the original but with the same mistakes and flaws as the original, this game is good but not good enough to overcome an F-Zero title.
-
Mar 12, 2017Fast RMX is fast, visually stunning and offers enough content to entertain you by yourself, online or with friends. The only thing we miss is personality, but other than that Fast RMX is excellent.
-
Mar 11, 2017While Zelda is undeniably the Switch’s killer app, Fast RMX drifts into a close second place. Offering an impressive range of multiplayer support and commuter-friendly racing on the go, Fast’s futuristic thrill ride manages to feel more at home on the Switch than it ever did on Wii U.
-
Mar 11, 2017[Fast RMX] may be little more than a port with spruced-up visuals and a smattering of new content, but it’s a bloody good one, so if you have a penchant for arcade racers you should definitely pick it up.
-
Mar 9, 2017FAST RMX is an excellent racing game for the Nintendo Switch. It offers great sensations of speed and fine tuned gameplay... even if it still suffers a lack of game modes, especially in online multiplayer.
-
Mar 4, 2017Fast RMX is an excellent arcade racer that will satisfy anyone's craving for speed and intensity, as well as gorgeous graphics that really show off the Switch's capability. As a full priced game, it would still stand out, but as a £16.99 download on the eShop, this really is a no-brainer for any fans of arcade racing. One of the best launch day games available.
-
Mar 3, 2017FAST RMX is a solid arcade racer, with a gratifying sense of speed, excellent visuals, and an interesting phase mechanic ensuring you have plenty of fun. It's not quite a flawless experience though. Outside of Hero mode, it's all a bit basic, with no tricks to perform in the air, and tracks lacking the intricate design of Mario Kart or Wipeout.
-
Mar 6, 2017Fast RMX is a great racing arcade game that brings back the style and speed we enjoyed in F-Zero, Wipeout and Xtreme G. But this Switch version brings no improvement from the Wii U original.
-
Apr 21, 2017With few bells and whistles, Fast RMX delivers all it promises: it’s a simple, fun, and challenging gravity racer, full stop.
-
Apr 2, 2017Fast RMX isn’t the best looking arcade racer on the market, and it lacks the polish that other games bring to the equation. However its tight gameplay and impressive tech (for Nintendo Switch) elevates Fast RMX to something better than its individual parts. For those searching for recommendations, Fast RMX easily offers $20 worth of racing entertainment as you wait for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and is an easy buy to any fan of the genre.
-
Mar 13, 2017Fast RMX isn't the biggest of gambles for Shin'en but the race is an honest one with a decent price tag. Not as good as F-Zero or Wipeout, the game will still appeal to the fans of futuristic racing on Nintendo Switch.
-
Mar 10, 2017The fact that some of Fast RMX’s modes like Time Attack missed launch is a bummer, and track design can be a bit inconsistent in terms of quality, but if you’re looking for a pure arcade racing experience, this heir apparent to F-Zero will definitely do the trick.
-
Mar 7, 2017Local multiplayer is where Fast RMX slots in nicely as part of the launch line-up. At $28, it’s got the price right.
-
Mar 7, 2017Fast RMX may not be the perfect anti-gravity racing package, but it certainly offers high-speed racing and a lot of tracks to challenge yourself on. It’s a shame that the online multiplayer offering is so barebones, and that the time trial mode is currently AWOL, but in lieu of an official Wipeout or F-Zero this is a solid option to get your arcade racing fix on the Nintendo Switch.
-
Mar 20, 2017Anyone who enjoys racing games and owns a Switch does not have many options for games right now beyond FAST RMX. Fortunately, it should provide players with at least a dozen hours of gameplay as they work their way from the novice cups to more advanced races. Online and local multiplayer also adds some additional fun into the mix. There’s not much else to the experience, however, and some may wish that the game were a more “pure” arcade racer rather than one with additional gameplay aspects layered on top of simply racing super fast.
-
Mar 17, 2017In many ways Fast RMX is exactly what it is supposed to be: A lightning-paced racer with a phenomenal sense of speed and pleasingly technofuturistic aesthetics that scratches that F-Zero itch in a way very few games have managed over the last fifteen years.
-
Mar 11, 2017Fast RMX isn’t as polished as the games it’s trying hard to emulate, but certainly isn’t a wash. It’s fast, looks excellent, and offers a great variety of tracks. The racing is fun, even if some of the track design is less than stellar. If the online multiplayer gets patched with more customization options, this will also make an excellent addition to the Switch’s scarce multiplayer options.
-
Mar 9, 2017Fast RMX is practically a must buy, but it’s a purist take on the genre and damn difficult without many, if any of the bells and whistles of other racers. That said, if you’re looking to scratch a certain F-Zero or Wipeout itch on Switch it’s absolutely worth a look.
-
Mar 7, 2017It may still be an off-brand F-Zero, but this is closer than ever to the real thing, and with some impressive graphical and multiplayer options.
-
Mar 6, 2017It may need some more polish in its modes to race with the big leagues, but Fast RMX is a great title with challenging difficulty and beautiful locales that are matched with its nose-bleeding sense of speed and arcade-inspired mechanics.
-
Mar 6, 2017Fast RMX is one of the best Switch titles out right now. Given how Shin’en is supporting the game with free updates, with the first adding time trials, it’s a great time to pick it up and play this $20 game.
