    Everdream Valley has the potential to become a good farming game, and there were times when I really enjoyed myself just working on the farm and training my animals. But the short story, underwhelming ending, and gameplay issues were a turnoff.

    Your enjoyment of Everdream Valley will depend on how you like to play the farm sims already on your Switch. If your primary goal has been about raking in the gold, beautifying your farm, or finding The One, you might not dig it. If you’ve never played a farm sim before, and want to till your first tile, we don’t recommend starting here. However, if you love caring for your animals, and want to see life through their shiny eyes, Everdream Valley could be right in your paddock.

    I appreciate that Everdream Valley zigged where I expected it to zag, and there are times when I think it almost gets what it’s going for. There’s certainly something here that a person could grab on to if they’re in the right frame of mind. But there are just so many bits of the game that feel half-baked or not properly thought-out, and the technical issues are frequent and unpleasant. It might eventually get updated into something worth punting on, but for now I’d give it a wide berth.

Despite having an interesting proposal and a variety of mechanics, the execution of some of them leaves something to be desired. The lack of clarity in the missions, poorly executed minigames, the exaggerated size of the map, the frustrating energy management, the strange hitbox and the floating character movement are negative points that detract from the experience and make it rather unfocused. You are fully capable of turning your grandparents' farm into a well-built paradise, however, the path is long and winding.… Full Review »

I love cozy games and this game was so well advertised I had to have it, BIG MISTAKE. It looks great in the switch store but the game itself looks like a bad DS port. The graphics are so low quality in comparison to the PC version it's barely the same game. Don't waste your money, I wouldn't even bother if it was free.… Full Review »
