    Game is far too buggy to be played. Broken quests, very long load times, controls are awkward, contrast is so poor that it is hard to see what is highlighted, and the game crashes frequently.

    If you want a game that looks nothing as advertised, filled to the brim with bugs (not the kind you can catch) and runs at FPS so low you feel like you're going backwards then this is the game for you. I love cozy games and this game was so well advertised I had to have it, BIG MISTAKE. It looks great in the switch store but the game itself looks like a bad DS port. The graphics are so lowIf you want a game that looks nothing as advertised, filled to the brim with bugs (not the kind you can catch) and runs at FPS so low you feel like you're going backwards then this is the game for you.     Everdream Valley has the potential to become a good farming game, and there were times when I really enjoyed myself just working on the farm and training my animals. But the short story, underwhelming ending, and gameplay issues were a turnoff.

    I appreciate that Everdream Valley zigged where I expected it to zag, and there are times when I think it almost gets what it’s going for. There’s certainly something here that a person could grab on to if they’re in the right frame of mind. But there are just so many bits of the game that feel half-baked or not properly thought-out, and the technical issues are frequent and unpleasant. It might eventually get updated into something worth punting on, but for now I’d give it a wide berth.

    I’m starting to wonder if I’m too picky about farm sims. I justify that by saying that all I want is a functioning game. I don’t expect some crazy story to bring you to the farm. I don’t expect perfection. But I do expect things like auto-saves to save often enough, the game not to crash, and farming itself to be pretty chill. I experienced none of that in Everdream Valley. I wanted so badly to like it, too. But instead, it feels rushed or incomplete. I don’t doubt the devs had all the best intentions, but it’s too big for its britches. It has potential, it just doesn’t feel like a fully polished game.
