Sep 25, 2019Darksiders 2 is the best entry in the current Darksiders trilogy, and the Switch version, while not perfect, is a great way to experience it. Now we just need Darksiders 3 on Switch so I can take this entire excellent series everywhere I go.

Oct 23, 2019It’s mostly okay, but if you go in expecting a flawless experience, you’ll be disappointed. If, however, you go in hoping for a game that’s merely fun, then Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition will more than fit the bill. It’s a good reminder of why people were so pleased when the series was reborn last year, and it’s a solid action game to have in your Switch library.
-
Oct 5, 2019A remaster that looks great with its improvements in lighting and shadows. It brings us back a fast-paced hack and slash game full of melodies that give the title an epic touch. The most negative point is perhaps the transition from action to platforms.
-
Oct 4, 2019Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition is a classic so it's great to see it on Switch, especially because it runs so well on it. If you enjoy 3D action adventure games then you should definitely sharpen your scythes and give it a try.
-
Oct 24, 2019For fans of the series the Deathinitive Edition’s arrival on the Switch is the perfect excuse to go back and relive the adventure, it’s as good as you remember. For everyone else there’s never been a better time to embrace Death.
-
Sep 26, 2019Take control of Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse on an epic journey to far-reaching realms to absolve his brother War’s crimes. Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition is chocked full with every story DLC including The Abyssal Forge, The Demon Lord Belial, and Argul’s Tomb. The broadest in scope amongst the Darksider franchise with added mechanics like a looting system and skill tree not found in the other titles. Darksiders II is a game worth coming back to or trying out for the first time on the Switch.
-
Sep 26, 2019Like most games ported to Switch, if you have a PS4, Xbox One or PC and plan on playing Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition solely in docked mode you may as well get it on another format instead. It’s cheaper, and both looks and plays better. If the Switch is all that you’ve got, however, or you plan on playing in handheld mode, you should definitely pick it up. It was one of the best games released last-gen, and with its enhancements it’s still a great game now.
-
Sep 25, 2019It feels like it’s been a long time coming and thankfully, any concerns fans may have had ahead of a Switch release can be laid to rest by Death himself. Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition is a visual feast, offering little to those who have already played through elsewhere but holding nothing back for the purists and new players alike. Age-old camera issues remain, but if you’ve been waiting to get on board with Death and his Horsemen, this late-to-the-party package is an easy recommendation.
-
Sep 25, 2019A decent port of a good game let down by technical issues.
-
Oct 25, 2019Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition represents a different but by no means less enjoyable experience than its predecessor. The plot may be very simple but it's competent enough and the game's missions, side quests, plentiful loot and soundtrack all add up to make this an involving and rewarding experience around such a rich, well-crafted effort.
-
Oct 24, 2019Darksiders 2 is a good game, and this is a decent port to try if you haven’t managed to try it yet. While it does have its hiccups, the game is ultimately the same game you’ve seen elsewhere for better or worse. Despite how slow the series can take to tell the overarching story, I still look forward to seeing what they do with these characters and with Darksiders Genesis. If you’re picking this game up for the second time let’s face it, you want to see what’s going to happen to.
-
Sep 26, 2019That Switch version of Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition is a good way to play the game if you haven’t done it yet. You can feel at times how old it is but it’s still a good game, in 2019.
-
Oct 17, 2019A below average port of an average game, Darksiders II's camera and graphics make for a mundane experience that did not age well.
-
Oct 14, 2019Should it not have been for the unfortunate technical issues found in the larger areas, Darksiders II would have been an easy recommendation on the Switch. Unfortunately, should you still want to experience this grand adventure, it’s best done elsewhere.
