Had this been bundled with a remastered version of Darksiders, the package would be perfect. As it stands, it's just a slightly better version of an already brilliant game.

Darksiders 2 was one of the best action-adventures in the late cycle of last generation’s consoles – and the magic still is there. Driven by the timeless comic design and the tight mechanics, Death’s adventure is still worth the entrance fee.

Darksiders 2: Deathinitve Edition may not offer much for those that have already had their fill of Death’s adventure on last-generation consoles, but newcomers will find a quality game that offers plenty of entertainment and playtime – frame rate issues, glitches, and the weak story notwithstanding.

Given the lower price point it’s still a solid purchase, just know it’s a slightly better version of its original release, and that’s not a bad thing at all.

Sure, the story is dull, and there aren’t a whole lot of original ideas at play here, but the vast expanse of the adventure should please anyone who missed out on it the first time around.

As entertaining as the combat might be, like everything else in Darksiders 2, it’s never quite as good as any of the games that it so brazenly imitates. And that’s the big problem isn’t it – the puzzles, the traversal, the visuals, the story – it has all been done better somewhere else.

Combat feels clunky, and the graphically impressive game ends up looking bad in motion. At least Nordic Games didn't technically call this a definitive edition, as it's really anything but.

I was really excited when I found out the game was coming out for xbox one. There are glitches in this game. Glitches have been minor but not game breaking. If you have not played this game I suggest you give it a chance. The story is compelling, the fighting is on par and it is only $30. Even though the graphics are updated you can still tell it was a last gen game. A great game for a good price. Expand

The gameplayDarksiders II: Deathinitive Edition is another great game remastered. The story is fantastic, with a great background mythology. The gameplay with Death is very good, one of the best games of this style; Another good thing is the soundtrack. Visually the game has improved and does not have many bugs. In this edition, all pre-order DLCs are there, but otherwise has nothing special. Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition is a great remastered game that will please many players. 9/10 Expand

I don't know why but I couldn't take the odd choices of having numbers of health or other things. I don't know, maybe I wasn't old enough to understand the game. I finally giving this a try and playing this one instead since Death is such a cool character.

Graphics- The game looks really good for being only a few years old. It has this surrealism with cell shaded comic graphics. I love the style of the way the world portrays with a solid 1080p and 30 frames which is actually odd because this game seems like it can run at least 60 but it still works fine enough. Though I did crash once, a few screen tearing, and a few minor freezes.

Gameplay - The gameplay varies from combat, platforming, and puzzling which is all done very well. The game works and mostly responsive if you take your time on the controls rather than rapidly pressing the buttons like in DMC4 Special Edition. Simple yet works.

Story - Its pretty fun and pretty engaging to understand the world in "your" point of view but you can't tell if you are just a errand boy. Yes you are the "good" guy in the game and wanting to ressurect humanity to clear Wars ( The main Progo in the first Darksiders game ) name for bringing in the apocalypse but you just go here, grab this, take it here, find this, etc. But that's a minor thing as the voice aciting is done perfectly as Death sounds freaking fantastic and the world of its own lore is refreshing as it feels new in a biblical sense if you know what I mean.

Enjoyment - I really enjoyed this game. It has a lot to offer with interesting characters, world, and setting. Also with it's fast fluid gameplay. The game can take about 20-30 hours to beat on a normal stance as this game is a bit challenging if you don't know how to RPG but overall. This remaster is a great for someone like me for playing it the first time. I recommend people who "haven't" played it to get it and its only 30 bucks. Cheap for a game like this and well worth it.
