Jan 28, 2020Call of Juarez: Gunslinger may not be a forgotten classic, but it is pretty darn fun, and that’s more than enough to make it worth checking out.
-
Apr 24, 2020Call of Juarez: Gunslinger passed by me in the last generation, but I’m happy to say the Switch port is an excellent way to experience the series for the first time, and the addition of motion controls make it worth considering a return to the American Frontier.

Dec 30, 2019Call of Juarez: Gunslinger takes you on an exciting journey back into the heart of the Wild West. Whether there’s any truth to what Silas Greaves is telling his listeners or if he’s simply lying through his teeth, I had a great time shooting my way through the winding story he wove and taking down legendary bandits along the way.

Dec 19, 2019I dare to say Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is one of the best first-person shooters that’s on the Nintendo Switch. It may not be the most complete experience, (It took me around 6 hours to finish.) but it’s a fun enough experience that I instantly wanted to replay it on a harder difficulty. Should you want to fill out the various skill trees and collecting the remaining “Nuggets of Truth,” you’ll be receiving another 8-10 hours of glorious arcade shooting.

Dec 17, 2019Somewhat overlooked and underrated when it was first released, Call Of Juarez: Gunslinger's second rodeo on Switch doesn't really bring anything new to the table that it didn't already bring before. It's still an entertaining adventure, though, which does clever things with its story structure.
-
Feb 8, 2020Its frantic action and its story couldn't have aged better, something that doesn't stand out so much in the graphic section. Fans of the Wild West can play this game on Nintendo Switch to live one of the funniest experiences ever created.
-
Jan 9, 2020Call Of Juarez: Gunslinger for Nintendo Switch doesn't bring anything new, but if you didn't play the original game, this is a great opportunity to enjoy that a great action game.
-
Dec 13, 2019Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is as solid a shooter as the Nintendo Switch has gotten in some time. Even though its age comes through in its graphics and linear level design, this title offers an interesting western for you to play through with some seriously satisfying gunplay.

Feb 6, 2020Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is an absolute diamond in the rough. The motion-comic cut-scenes get the job done, but are otherwise unimpressive to look at. The frame-rate can get really rocky when there are tons of lawmen about, firing rifles or revolvers from all over a town, as Silas darts from cover to cover. The overall concept and execution on the other hand is pure genius and fully takes advantage of the historical setting, flawlessly weaving it into the gameplay. John Cygan as Silas Greaves is an utter joy to listen to, as he gradually succumbs to a hilarious stupor. The arcade-like structure makes Gunslinger a natural fit for the Nintendo Switch's portable mode, so that chunks of the game are easily digested and completed while on the go.
-
Dec 18, 2019The Switch port of Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is well worth a look. The gyro controls are implemented well, and the game often defies its age to be a fun little shooter.
-
Dec 16, 2019The story and setting are what Gunslinger excels in. Locations are varied yet believable, every actor sounds like they belong in a western, and some sound effects sound straight out of an old film. While the plot isn’t too deep, the characters are simplistic, and the level design and game mechanics feel at odds with each other, the narration and bits of historical accuracy are enough to keep you playing to the end.
-
Dec 15, 2019Call of Juarez: Gunslinger’s Switch port is far from ideal, and those still looking for an optimal experience will want to check out the version available on Steam. Yet, for those who aren’t all that concerned with pixel-perfect accuracy and simply want to take their slapstick six-shooter fun on the go, it’s more than worth the asking price of twenty dollars.
-
Dec 16, 2019Quotation forthcoming.
-
Dec 19, 2019Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is a six year old game that is showing signs of its age, and has not been brought in the modern generation gracefully. The visuals are often ugly, and the gunplay is below the standard seen on Nintendo Switch or anywhere else. For your money, you can play a much better game on this console. I could only possibly recommend this game for people nostalgic for the game, but even then it's likely to ruin those rose-tinted memories.
