Overall Burnout Paradise Remastered, does exactly what it set out to do and accomplished it very well especially on a lower tier hardware like the Nintendo Switch. Most people will enjoy this romp around and new players will enjoy the open level design. The biggest downfall is the price I would really recommend waiting for it to go on sale because at its normal price it is too steep to recommend.

Burnout Paradise Remastered for the Nintendo Switch comes with its fair share of issues. You’ll experience a lot of blurriness playing it handheld, and might struggle making out what's what at high speeds even when playing it docked. Plus, there’s that big $50 price tag for a 2008 game. Yet, included in the remaster is eight of the nine premium DLC, which comes with nearly all the vehicles unlocked, as well as one of the best racing soundtracks to ever exist.

Going back to Paradise City is always fun, but this Burnout starts to show its age despite a very good (but expensive) transition on the Nintendo Switch.

Not only is Burnout Paradise Remastered a solid port, but this classic racer also proves itself to be a fitting game to take on the road.

Even after all this time, Burnout Paradise remains an absolute blast to play. The upgrade to 60fps in Remastered only heightens the adrenaline rush, and the game’s emphasis on exploration and quick-fire racing make it a brilliant fit for being taken on the go.

While this version of the game isn’t as remastered as others, and though the launch price of $50 will rightfully make some gamers balk, Burnout Paradise Remastered on Switch takes a great formula and makes it pleasantly portable.

Elements of Burnout Paradise are starting to show their age now, but nobody can argue with the quality of its actual racing action. If you can put up with its various niggles and quirks and don’t mind the astronomical price (relative to other systems), it’s easily one of the most entertaining – and certainly one of the fastest – racing games on the Switch.

There are much more capable racing games I’d recommend for the Switch, and unless you have some fond memories of the original game, I wouldn’t recommend this remaster until a steep discount happens.

Paradise Remastered definitely shows its age 12 years after its initial release, but it still plays as fast as ever. And on a console lacking a light speed racer? That counts for plenty.

The remaster works well enough to buoy a remarkable game for its time, and a solid game today. Some players may be disappointed in the aesthetics, but others may revel in simpler times, particularly those without RPG mechanics forced into every facet of progression. There's an undeniable presence that exists in the Burnout franchise, and Paradise, even throughout the years, continuous to define the arcade-at-home experience for every petrol head with a Switch.

I don't have nostalgia for it because I've never played the game prior to the Switch port. The love and praise for this game is totally deserved. Every event and secret is centered around and takes place in a masterfully designed open world city. I was really surprised at how much variety there can be in a racing game. It's easily the best racing game I've ever played and is one of the best arcade games as well. I love it so much and plan to 100% it. The price is egregious compared to other consoles, but even at $50usd, it's worth it. (I'm giving it a 10 because it so perfectly executes it's vision). Full Review »

What is surprising is the price, it's more expensive on the Switch, than it ever was on any other system at it's original launch, you would have hoped for the price, EA might have included Burnout 1, 2, 3, Dominator or all of them on the same cart or as a download code, hopefully they'll port other versions of the Burnout series in the future that will be discounted or free to owners of Paradise, I can always dream!
