The most glaring issue is the load times. Load times are absolutely aweful. While on other consoles you can mostly navigate the world without running into significant load times, on the switch, you have about 1 second black screens each time you change zones(which happens really often) and sometimes it takes far longer(I've had up to 10 seconds load times when simply changing screen).

Another significant issue is the rumble, it's just too much. The rumble is there to warn users they're at low health, but the strength of the rumble and that it's constant so long as you remain at low health makes it absolutely unbearable, especially if you get stuck in a cutscene while at low health.

Basically, the game is really good, but get it on another console.

This a game which I´m a bit confused... in what to think about it. I cant say its not a good game, but I cant say its a good one as well. Probably its just not a "my kind" of game. So for a question, what would be my kind... lets say, that I love My Friend Pedro... from the games which came out not too long before this. You may say, this is more a RPG kind of game... I like the hack n slash RPGs, like Diablo III or Titans Quest...
But still its a nice game, and I will be playing it for a few more hours to see whats hidden deeper under what I already saw..
I will update my comments after then... After I prepared the below video.. I spent a few more time playing it... and I like it more and more... I´m still not in love with it :-) but a fair friendship here :-) And my 11 years daughter saw it and went into the testing as well. and.. She likes it even more then I do... Only she is not used to RPG game and it will trouble her to use the different objects and weapons and potions and so one she will find on the way... Not even I was able to identify what for will most of the object to be used... the game is just much more complex, then what I was able to see in the video... So right away I must recommend it :-)

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a good game, don't get me wrong, but boy, waiting for it to become great has been a job in itself! [Issue #48 – September/October 2020, p. 72]

By the time the final performance update drops it will be those who snatch the game at a sale price that will ultimately benefit the most. There’s a 1.04 update that is expected by the end of November, and I would bet money that it won’t be the last. It’s a real shame because underneath the stigma of a troubled release and a lost first impression of a polished product, lies a potentially magnificent game that holds true to what it once ambitiously set out to achieve.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a game that many fans wanted and it does a very good job when it comes to its fan service duties. If only the game’s performance matched its level of challenge, this would be an unforgettable, indispensable title but unfortunately, Ritual of the Night’s framerate drops and strange inconsistencies make this an experience that could have been much more of a breeze. Fans of Metroidvania games will still find plenty to be happy about it, though.
