    fantastic graphics, game play and music. Story leaves a bit to be desired and the ending leaves you on edge and not so satisfied. Other than that the most of the game is superb. Looking forward to what else platinum has up their sleeve!

    Puede que se trate de uno de los mejores juegos para Nintendo switch. En el apartado gráfico soberbio, en el apartado de jugabilidad, aunque un poquito difícil (no es malo, porque muchos precisamente buscan esa dificultad) es también genial si es verdad que lo que menos me ha gustado es el apartado musical del juego, esta es una opinión muy personal pero me parece un poquito taladrante dePuede que se trate de uno de los mejores juegos para Nintendo switch.     PlatinumGames is like 90s Sega, i mean good games and fun. And this game have a unique combat system that have a potential and with a cheesy story but you know? You play this kind for the game for the gameplay (in my opinion). Good combat, nice music and is one of the best of this year

    Llevo unas 15 horas jugadas y por el momento, me encanta el juego por lo que es y no por lo que pudo haber sido. Entiendo a los usuarios que se quejan porque el juego vaya a 30 FPS pero ¿que queréis que os diga? yo me pasé el Bayonetta 1 en PS3 que iba a 20 FPS y es uno de mis juegos favoritos a dia de hoy, para mi ese dato es irrelevante. El juego pudo ser mejor en ese apartado, peroLlevo unas 15 horas jugadas y por el momento, me encanta el juego por lo que es y no por lo que pudo haber sido.     Your adventure begins just after you pick a male or female-presenting protagonist, then you’re prompted to a highly stylized and pretty good-looking motorcycle stage to finally hack and slash your way on foot through streets filled with Chimeras. It is a solid kick-off to a mostly solid game. After the prologue that introduces you to this post-apocalyptic world and its colorful cast ofYour adventure begins just after you pick a male or female-presenting protagonist, then you’re prompted to a highly stylized and pretty good-looking motorcycle stage to finally hack and slash your way on foot through streets filled with Chimeras. It is a solid kick-off to a mostly solid game. After the prologue that introduces you to this post-apocalyptic world and its colorful cast of characters, the story develops slowly between 11 chapters. The story has its twists and turns but overall has a good flow that focuses on an event for every chapter to finally tie in with the main narrative. It is not the most groundbreaking story that you’ll encounter but it is pretty interesting and the writers made the right call of keeping it more personal and expanding it with the grander-than-life events that happen in later chapters. Platinum doesn't shy away from doing stories with darker tones, but I think that after working alongside Drakengard and NieR Director/Writer Yoko Taro they got somewhat influenced by his style of writing.

    The real meat, bones, and metal of Astral Chain is its fast pacing yet simple combat. Similar to other action games like Bayonetta or Devil May Cry your character delivers fast and devastating combos with different combinations, the unique feature of Astral Chain that differentiates itself from other games of the genre is the Legion system. Aside from your character, you can summon a Legion that will attack any enemy that you're targeting and move on their own to the next target till they're eliminated.

    In RPG-like fashion, Legions come in the variety of melee, ranged, and tank, they can be upgraded and equipped with different abilities and skills that can be easily adapted to your playstyle, this Legion system compensates the otherwise simple combat as you only have one attack button and that's all. What makes the combat so addicting and rewarding are the Sync Attacks, after you complete a fixed chain of attacks with your weapon of use everything will slow down by a fraction of a second and you'll be prompted to press the Legion summoning button to do a powerful attack, these synced attacks can also be triggered by evading and when meeting certain conditions if you keep upgrading a Legion.

    While the focus of the game is the action parts of it, it has some variety that comes with side questing and puzzle-solving, this could be a matter of taste but not doing combat could be either a hit or a miss, as it might spice things a little at the cost of feeling a little like an obstacle to its "true" gameplay. For the most part, side-quests are fun to do even when many of them don't aport much to the story, so pacing for every chapter will definitely be benefited by omitting investigations and just let you chose freely to hunt down quests or go straight down to the main story.

    When you inevitable arrive at the Astral Plane you'll be entering the puzzle parts of the game, these parts have some reminiscence of the shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild but mostly on an aesthetic level, as its puzzles aren't as deep, they tend to be more in the vein of God of War games, where you need to push a block or hit different targets at once without thinking too much.

    Hidden in the options Astral Chain gives you the possibility of splitting the Joycons and play it co-op, I don't know if the dynamic between twin and Legion change or if you can play with two Pro controllers (a scheme which I highly recommend as maneuvering your character and Legion at the same time can feel a little bit uncomfortable with the Joycons) as I couldn't test any of this by myself, but it surely is a pretty nice addition that in a way feels like an old school hidden option of the SNES era.

    After finishing Astral Chain I was pretty happy with the time I had while playing it, it was satisfying, fast-paced and for the most time, it was fun. If I was required to condense the feeling of the game it will be "Heavy Metal the game". It is not perfect but it is undoubtedly a great game, in more than a way it feels like a culmination of Platinum gameplay, mechanics, storytelling, and art direction. In terms of gameplay, it doesn't reach the finesse of the likes of Bayonetta but it is still a blast to have. Playing this in 2021 and not when it came up, make me feel a little guilty, Hack and Slash games aren't as popular as before, so bad sales could destroy a potentially great follow-up to a game.    … Expand

    + combat is easily accessible once the basics are learned, but it provides enough depth to provide a nice learning experience
    + Marie ;)

    The cons:
    - gets a bit repetitive in the first hours, after that more variation starts to freshen things up
    - awkward running controls

    If you are feeling apprehensive about the amount of content in Astral Chain, allow me to ease your mind. This game can be as long or as short as you want it to be. There are approximately 130 red cases and 90 blue cases to solve over the course of 12 chapters, and some cases (like the heavy traffic puzzles) can take upwards of 20+ minutes to solve. Plus, you have to keep your eye-risIf you are feeling apprehensive about the amount of content in Astral Chain, allow me to ease your mind. This game can be as long or as short as you want it to be. There are approximately 130 red cases and 90 blue cases to solve over the course of 12 chapters, and some cases (like the heavy traffic puzzles) can take upwards of 20+ minutes to solve. Plus, you have to keep your eye-ris peeled for cats, chests, digging spots, arrow rewards and red matter in every area you go. Between upgrading your weapons and legions and completing the appropriate orders to acquire the necessary premium material codes needed for upgrade, you can easily spend 40-50 hours. It took me 60 hours to fully upgrade my x-baton, Legatus and Sword legion and I have not even s-ranked everything yet. My biggest regret is not taking a picture of every enemy right away because now I don’t know what photos I’m missing which makes it difficult to 100%.

    As stated above, there is a ton of depth to this game. Everything from puzzles to riddles to platforming to stealth and escort missions can be found in this platinum title, so if you were expecting a simple hack & slash, think again. The game isn’t perfect though. The motion controls function poorly in tv mode (even if it is hardly used), the camera can be a little funky when you are trying to fight multiple enemies and the FPS will go bonkers at certain junctures. The biggest problem, however, is the fall damage incurred in the astral plane. That sense of satisfaction you get from dodging attacks is quickly gone the moment you get close to the edge, and I suspect the developers knew this was cheap because the game allows you to survive with 1 hp. Also, your fall damage INCREASES relative to your hp. How stupid is that? The game provides abilities that grant immunities to just about everything except fall damage. I would honestly deduct 2 points off the final score if it were not for the fact that this is mostly a post-game issue than a main game issue.

    All these things prevent Astral Chain from getting a perfect score in my view, but Astral Chain is the best game I have played in 2019 and that’s gotta count for something.

    Just finished the game. I love everything about it. The only gripe I have is the camera control - especially the lack there of when controlling the legion. The control scheme need some getting use to, but after that, I like this more than using the face buttons for attack. I play less Bayonetta 1 and 2 because my thumb feels hurt when playing it for a longer sitting.

    For me the first 1 hour was kinda week and the combos were not really there but after you get back your legion the game has great combos, fast gameplay and great characters and story.     an amazingly fun game, looks great, plays great, is just a bit anime, not to any cringe point and the replay value with extra missions give you dozens of extra hours of gameplay; the music is also amazing, the plot could be better, is not bad, is not super new and innovative on storytelling but still makes for a great excuse to throw your Legions to the enemies.
    Also fully customizable,    an amazingly fun game, looks great, plays great, is just a bit anime, not to any cringe point and the replay value with extra missions give you dozens of extra hours of gameplay; the music is also amazing, the plot could be better, is not bad, is not super new and innovative on storytelling but still makes for a great excuse to throw your Legions to the enemies.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Es un gran videojuego, la jugabilidad es completamente novedosa, la posibilidad de poder manejar a dos personajes al mismo tiempo es algo muy diferente a cualquier juego de accion o hack&slash que se haya visto..

    -La jugabilidad es impecable como todo lo que hace platinum games todos los movimientos son muy precisos. Hay decenas de mecanicas que vas desbloqueando con forme avanzas en el juego que le dan una variedad a la jugabilidad increible y recuerdan a muchas otras mecánicas de otros juegos de platinum como el corte de la legion espada que lo vemos en el Metal Gear rising o ir montado en la legion bestia que recuerda a bayonetta. Tambien otros toques de platinum como ir en vehiculos como en bayonetta le dan una gran variedad al juego.
    La banda sonora es muy buena y con mucha variedad e inspirada en otros juegos o peliculas como blade runner o ghost in the shell,
    Tambien tiene un diseño de niveles realmente bueno dentro de los portales, con partes muy originales de plataformeo bastante profundas, en ese entorno tan increible que a simple vista puede parecer plano o repetitivo pero una vez que empiezas a explorar los portales ves la variedad tan buena de paisajes que realmente sorprenden.

    -Visualmente tambien es increible los diseños de personajes son muy buenos, y los diseños de las kimeras y legiones sencillamente son buenisimos.
    Las partes de la ciudad literalmente son espectaculares recordando aveces a callejones de japon con mil luces y colores o a ciudades de grandes capitales llenas de luces, carteles en movimiento etc que recuerdan bastante a peliculas como akira, ghost in the shell o blade runner.

    El juego tiene decenas de mecanicas, no solo en las batallas, a la hora de investigar tambien le da mucha variedad al juego y nunca estas obligado a resolver todas las investigaciones con lo cual aveces tambien se agrade, por que dan la posibilidad de ir al grano en la historia siempre que lo desees.

    La historia es relativamente compleja y muy interesante de seguir y le da mucho sentido al juego y a la jugabilidad en general, no son cosas seperadas como en otros hack & slash, que te cuentan una historia y es la escusa para tener batallas sin sentido.

    En definitiva, es un gran juego que merece la pena, aporta un sin fin de mecanicas novedosas a los videojuegos de este tipo, la jugabilidad es compleja, por el sin fin de posibilidades que tienen los combates, y a la vez es realmente buena y profunda, y las sensacion de accion es muy buena y visualmente espectacular. La ambientación al mas puro estilo anime y futurista es uno de lo mejores puntos del juego y tambien en ese sentido aporta algo novedoso.

    Mi punto negativo puede ser, que aveces la exploracion puede hacerse algo tediosa, pero esta no es algo que sea obligatorio para avanzar, y en ocasiones incluso se agradece para disfrutar de los entornos y descansar de los combates que a veces se encadenan muchas batallas seguidas

    Una de las mejores entregas de este año, un juego que va más allá de la satisfacción del jugador. Astral chain para mi punto de vista es un juego que aporta por mucho a la industria. Y estoy seguro que este juego tendrá estudios detrás sirviendoles como ejemplo y apoyo para futuras entregas. Gracias a este juego nos veremos más cerca a una nueva era para la industria de los video juegos.

This game has a unique gameplay, it's absolutely gorgeous on the switch (on the same level as Doom), it has interesting music, and the setting and climate are well made. It's not perfect yet, not at all, but it's certainly an A+ quality game. There are small user interaction glitches that make a small number of sections in the gameDon't let the angry switch-hating review bombers fool you. This game has a unique gameplay, it's absolutely gorgeous on the switch (on the same level as Doom), it has interesting music, and the setting and climate are well made. It's not perfect yet, not at all, but it's certainly an A+ quality game. There are small user interaction glitches that make a small number of sections in the game difficult, but it's brand new.     I really enjoyed the game with an amazing story, the duration of the game is reasonable and I really liked the game. Unfortunately it is an exclusive game of Nintendo Switch. I would like other platforms to have this title to play on the preferred platform

    Mi anterior critica con este juego fue algo injusta, en mi primera critica mencione que en el apartado de acción el juegos es sobresaliente y que las partes de investagacion rompían el ritmo del juego. En mi segunda partida he tenido una sensación totalmente distinta y considero que las partes de investigación son bastante pocas en comparación con las de acción, el problema de este juegoMi anterior critica con este juego fue algo injusta, en mi primera critica mencione que en el apartado de acción el juegos es sobresaliente y que las partes de investagacion rompían el ritmo del juego. En mi segunda partida he tenido una sensación totalmente distinta y considero que las partes de investigación son bastante pocas en comparación con las de acción, el problema de este juego es que hay muchos combates interesantes que están ocultos y eso no debería ser así, dando en la primera partida una sensación bastante equivocada de lo que este juego puede ofrecer. Ahora que lo he jugado como debería, mi opinión es que es de lo mejor del catalogo de switch y de los mejores juegos de Platinum games.… Expand

The amazing action is complimented only by the amazing soundtrack that pulled no punches at any given moment, sometimes being worth it to pause and just enjoy the beat. The game is fairly lengthy as well and gives you a ton of super rewarding side quests to do, so you're definitely getting your money's worth. This game could have been perfect in every way... but alas, I have to say story is the biggest heel to this adventure. While the beginning starts off strong, playing as a silent protagonist going through the motions really manages to distance you not only from your own character, but as well as the world at large. By the end of the game I still had many questions, and so many of the awesome NPCs were side-lined it makes me wonder if they intend to make a sequel. Not to say the story they have is bad mind you, but it's simply only 'good enough' for what it is. Overall this game is definitely worth a purchase, and here's hoping for a sequel!… Expand

The combat is intense and frantic very much in the style of the company, having touches throughout its existence that will remind of other titles such as Rising Revenge or Nier: Automata, but introducing the legions as a very unique touch.

    Astral chain is a refreshing new IP made by platinum games. I think it’s a very awesome game when it comes to its concept and it’s story. But I felt like the story was a little predictable but overall it makes for a unique and interesting concept. This is another must have!

    Astral Chain overall is a great game with only a problem here and there. The game play is fun and rewarding. The bosses are epic but when the soundtrack kicks in, its just the cherry on top. The story is where it falls short. It become very predictable very quickly. I hope Nintendo let's Platinum make a sequel so they can build off this great foundation.

Platinum games have made another hit that can proudly join the likes of bayonetta and Nier automata. The game looks beautiful, the soundtrack is excellent and the gameplay is addicting... once you figure out what you’re doing. For the first hour of the game, you kinda get this “is this it..?” Kinda mood as you’re just smashing a button while your legion (chimera partner) auto attacks. That all changes once you reach a point throughout the first chapter/file of the game and realize there’s so much you can do with your legion which only gets crazier once you add abilities and attacks as you level up each individual legion. Honestly, it felt overwhelming at times but once you get the hang of it, boy oh boy does this game get crazy good with stylish combos, dramatic acrobatics and cool looking explosions (and slow mo!).

    It’s not all action though. You play as a cop in an elite task force meaning you’re going to have to do some investigating. In between crazy fights, you’ll usually start off in a level where you can explore, gather clues, do side quests, and look for unlockables and items. I was impressed by the different types of side quests although most were doable in a couple of minutes. They aren’t just waste of times thought as the rewards are well worth completing them. I also am impressed on how they ended up using these action gameplay mechanics in more casual settings that some of these side quests take in. I would say this part of the game is not the best, but I’m not saying it’s bad. The investigating is fine, and for the most part, a good pallete cleanser. I just wish it was a bit more complex and used your deductions skills more. Usually all you have to do is get the most “key words” from side quests or speaking to npcs, and take a quiz to see if you can fill in the blank of what happens. I played the game in the platinum standard, one above the default difficulty, and honestly was a fair and challenging mode. The story of the game is simple and it’s not anything mind breaking. Some of the plot twists were predictable while others I wouldn’t have guessed. Although, it’s a plot that has been told again and again, I think what makes it better than just “all right” is the world building of this game. Everyone in your task force has a name and a unique design. They all have distinctive personalities and I found myself actually remembering their names when they were being referenced in game. Some are characters you can’t Help but love (Looking at you Marie)! Seriously, you end up wanting to save this world because of the characters and killing chimeras. But what I wanted to see more of was the villains motives. Again, we’ve seen the “oh wait he’s actually a crazy guy who thinks he’s doing good but just wants to erase humankind” plot here and there but it doesn’t go into too much detail as to why they really believe what they’re doing is right. I wish the villains were more fleshed out, even if they had to go through the whole “flashbacks” route.

    Over all, the Game is massive fun especially when you put everything you learn together to execute these flashy moves. There’s moments where the story gets super dramatic and then there’s comedic and cute moments. This game is definitely an anime game and while some of it’s elements are just good or passable, The world building, soundtrack, the gameplay, And the beautiful graphics really make this one a star. I’m so glad I purchased this game.

    P.S the game is 30 FPS but you rarely notice it. There were a couple of times where it looked choppy but nothing at all that hinges gameplay or makes it not fun. Also, the action gets crazy the last couple of files and if you’ve played nier automata or bayonetta then... you know what to expect.    … Expand

While technically yes, the missions are linear, having those small side missions help to fill the void of a missing over world, it helps create the illusion that the missions themselves aren’t linear, and it definitely helps to create a more living world within the one which Platinum has created. The only real negatives I have had this thus far with Astral Chain is that the voices are not the same speed as the subtitles, which can be a little distracting at some points, but it definitely does not ruin the experience. The story has been well crafted to where it actually builds upon and finish plots, it takes its time getting us used to our characters and gives us the opportunity to learn more about them individually if we so please, and this being a story drive game, that is a huge bonus. A strong point Astral Chain has on its side is that it’s combat feels rewarding. You struggle at first, trying to learn tricky but tight controls, and eventually learn to grow and get better with the character you choose to play as. While learning and progressing, you can physically tell the protagonist becomes more confident in who they are and what they can do by the way the story is presented, which is really cool in my defense. Gaining access to other powers along the way is a nice way to keep battles fresh, it literally lets you decide what move set you’re most comfortable with. On top of different move sets, the game offers you different play styles (easy, medium, or hard), and tons of customization options, from the hud color, to outfits/outfit color, to legion color, different abilities and skills to equip... you can literally have hours of fun experimenting with what the game gives you. Astral Chain is definitely a hidden gem. If you love Devil May Cry and Bayonetta, definitely consider picking this Nintendo Exclusive up. Whether you play it at home, or on the go, its definitely an adventure worth the experience. I can’t wait to get more of this game. If it gets enough love and attention to garner a sequel, then by all means make it an open world, that’s what would make this one perfect. Nintendo’s choice to partner up with Platinum is definitely a choice that keeps on giving.… Expand

    A game that truly makes good use of the switch, both in looks, gameplay, and sound, its art style helps compensate for the fact the switch is a low performer showing the devs knew what they had to work with, with a kicking soundtrack that suits each encounter scene and situation and the gameplay is fun with options for both the casual and hardcore so no one is left out, highly reccomended

    Un excelente juego en todos los apartados, recomiendo totalmente el juego. Una vez que lo empiezas a jugar es muy fácil viciarse unas 5 horas como mínimo, sobre todo una vez que te acostumbras a las mecánicas del juego, la cantidad de combinaciones en los combates es genial.

    Así mismo no es un juego perfecto, poniendo en evidencia sus errores tenemos que los escenarios se repiten más veces de la que esperaríamos, las misiones secundarias se sienten que fueron puestas a obligación, esto quiere decir que no tienen    Astral chain mostró ser un juego increíble, lleno de cosas que nos gustan sacadas de otros juegos de la compañía, véase wonderfull 101, Bayonetta, etc
    Así mismo no es un juego perfecto, poniendo en evidencia sus errores tenemos que los escenarios se repiten más veces de la que esperaríamos, las misiones secundarias se sienten que fueron puestas a obligación, esto quiere decir que no tienen otro sentido más que aportar un par de horas de juego mas, quizás al principio de las mismas nos agraden, pero conforme las vallamos haciendo nos daremos cuenta de que son demaciado repetitivas y aburridas.
    Sacando ya el modo historia, nos damos cuenta de que es bastante simple, no es una historia tan memorable como otras que nos ah traído el estudio de platinum games siendo un tanto cliche en su argumento y desarrollo.
    Para resumir estos puntos negativos hay que decir que astral chain es un homenaje a todos los juegos de platinum games, sacando y perfeccionando lo mejor de cada uno de ellos, dando como resultado este gran juego, pero no aportando nada más, es una vieja formula perfeccionada lo cual para algunos será negativo al no arriesgarse lo suficiente o bastante positivo teniendo todo lo que hizo grandes a sus antesesores.
    si bien tiene varios puntos negativos como puse en evidencia arriba, este juego tiene muchas más cosas positivas que negativas.
    Empezando por el sistema de peleas y llendo por el de progresion, los escenarios, que si bien se repiten muy de vez en cuando, no le quita lo bien trabajados que están,además, mantenimiento esos 30 fps en cualquier momento y ese factor de rejugabilidad que te va a hacer volver un par de veces más al juego.
    Astral chain brilla por su sistema de peleas y progresion, además de tener una duración aceptable, un soundtrack bastante bien puesto y tener el sello de platinum games por todos lados.

It took me a while to get used to controlling two characters at once, you really need to be spacially aware of where both your characters are at all points and also the combos are mainly QTEs.. but when you get in a groove and both characters are working in tandem spinning around dodging and slaying interdimensial beings the game is really edge of the seat rewarding. The gameplay is solid, the graphics are beautiful, the level up system is great and unlock a bunch of neat abilities for your Legions. The only reason I never gave it a 10 was because your character isn't voiced. All talking is done by the other character you don't pick.. minor thing I know.. but here we are lol. Do yourself a favor and pick up this game! I hope this is the beginning of a multi game series because if the second game is half as good as this one it will be an easy day one buy for me again!… Expand

    Let's get the first issue out of the way:
    The gameplay mechanics are introduced very slowly and the pacing is absolutely all over the place.
    The combat during the first few hours of the game almost feels like it's a different game compared to the final hours and the post-game content.
    To a certain degree this helps keep the game feel "fresh" because you can always count on new mechanics being introduced along the way, however it doesn't help the pacing. At times the game really drags on for longer than it should and other times it's the action goodness we're used from platinum games. Pure action is not all we get with Astral Chain, though. This game is actually quite a lot more varied.
    Usually you start off a chapter with a Batman Arkham like investigation section, get into some platforming and Zelda Dungeon like puzzle solving which leads you right into some action packed fights. There's also stealth segments, some smaller side quests and a huge achievement log to complete.

    In terms of presentation I have to say this game certainly is no technical mirracle when it comes to pure graphical effects. HOWEVER I didn't mind the 720(-810)p 30frames at all because the game has such a cohesive art style and so many neat little details that weren't necessary that really sell the look and feel of the game.
    And yeah yeah, I know how this sounds, "30 fps in an action game with fast paced combat" but trust me, it's absolutely not an issue. Enemies telegraph their attacks perfectly visible and with a fair timing, the frame rate is very solid for the most part (and only loses about 1-2 frames at its worst) and the game feels responsive. I got used to it very quickly and didn't even notice it anymore after while.

    Also, let me just mention the soundtrack real quick.
    It's sort of a mix of what we know from NieR and NieR:Automata with more of a rock-pop feel to it and Xenoblade OSTs.
    If that doesn't tell you anything let me put it this way:
    It's bloody good. And I need it on Spotify. Now.

    The story is... There. And it's by no means bad. But it can't compare to anything Platinum have done with NieR. Instead I'd say it is satisfactory and enough to make your time with the game worth it.
    I've seen some people complain about the voice acting, which I don't agree with.
    While it is a bit irritating having Morgana from P5 giving you a tour around the facility the voice acting itself isn't bad at all. In fact I quite liked it.
    The only issue is lip synchronisation. Here the game has the same issues as Xenoblade 2 where the voice line stops but the character keeps moving his mouth for another 2-3 seconds. It didn't happen too often but I admit it can be a little irritating.

    Overall these really are minor issues to me and I still absolutely feel I got my money's worth with Astral Chain.
    If you own a Switch and you like what you see on the trailers, you should definitely go for it.    … Expand

    Without getting to pretentious. I'd say this game is challenging and fun for anyone who wants to try it! It looks nice, it's unique, and it's fun! So I'll give it a 9/10 because it isn't perfect (nothing is) but it's definitely great and worth it.

La technique est au rendez vous et Astral Chain pourrait bien être la plus joli exclu techniquement. La D.A quand a elle, plaira ou pas, mais elle s'integre bien au jeu.     I am giving Astral Chain a solid 9 out of 10. It's not perfect perfect but it's perfect — one or two things I wish they'd implemented would be the possibility to freely explore the city. But that's really a point I would have loved. Besides that, the game play is smooth. I didn't encounter any real fps drops.     One of the best Switch games period.
    If you like Anime and action games like Bayonetta or Devil May Cry, this is the game for you.
    The story is really varied and the combat has a lot of depth. Easy to play but hard to master.
    Add a lot of replay value and you've got one of those games that you will get back to for a lot of time.

The art of basement-dwelling reduced to mindless, rage induced by shoving a PS4 controller so far up your butt you can now press the buttons with your tongue. (I mean c'mon, with names like "PS3fan" and lines like "sony is best" you're not even trying...)

    Astral Chain is a great game. Running at 30FPS doesn't mean it deserves a zero score. To those who claim it's a button masher. Remember, that's the exact same thing you said when your little sister beat you in Street Fighter (*coughscrubcough*). It's accessible, with the opportunity to be incredibly deep as long as you have a base level or creativity. The story is pretty simple, but the characters are likable (anyone who doesn't like Marie doesn't have a soul). It's a good start to what hopefully spawns future, even better sequels.

    Also, Bayonetta 3 is right around the corner, review bombers so you have an opportunity to step up your game. Maybe you'll be able to do a Shoryuken with your tongue by then to counter the sweet spike kick that will be Bayo 3. Probably not though. cuz you know, you're pathetic and all...    … Expand

    Game handles and looks fantastic. Controlling the character and the Legion at the same time takes some.practice but feels incredibly rewarding once you get the hang of it.

    Fantastic game that balances action and cool down portions. Story is engaging and as a fan of Evangelion, I can’t help but make some connections. Controls are on point and it looks gorgeous!

    This game is fantastic. It's honestly like an 8 for me, but I have to give it a 10 because of all the butthurt fans review bombing it because they have nothing to play. PC/switch is the way to go.

    Update: review bombers have been spotted and handled so I'm giving the score a 9 because it's really like an 8.5 for me. Still more to play though
