    Que rabia me da la gente que puntúa con menos de un 8 este juego. Eso denota que no lo han jugado.

    He flipado con este juego, es una obra de arte, hay muchos momentos en los que te dan ganas de gritar de la emoción con lo que pasa y también pasan muchas cosas que ni se te ocurrían que podían pasar y flipas.     Dan ganas de rejugarlo. JUGABILIDAD impresionante a vista parece difícil pero en cuanto le cojes el punto es facilicimo e innovador.
    SONIDO impresionante, acertado en todo momento, te mete en escena y te hace flipar lo más. Lo he jugado con cascos y el sonido te mete de lleno y no se si eran por mis cascos pero sentía el sonido 3d brutal.
    GRÁFICOS excelentes. Diría que el mejor de la switch, y va fluido, no da tirones, una delicia ala vista.
    INNOVACIÓN increíble, jugar con 2 personajes a la vez, la cantidad de pisibilidades que se pueden hacer con esto. La mezcla de géneros y la cantidad de cosas que se hace aparte de pelear y pelear como otros en su géneros.    … Expand

    Didn't think it was my type of game, I was wrong. So glad I took a chance and bought this. I usually don't like hack n slash sort of games (Bayonetta, DMC ect.) but this game does it amazing, feels fluid, has depth and variety, it offers a challenge but never feels unfair and you always feel powerful and capable. Visuals are filled with popping colors and neon, music is a bit of cyberpunkDidn't think it was my type of game, I was wrong. So glad I took a chance and bought this. (I don't usually like rock but this is good), music during non combat creates a perfect ambience, plenty of customization, more exploration than I expected which is good, I'm usually not very pulled in by stories but this was simple to understand and interesting enough to want to understand.     Made an account to post this review. When I'm not playing this game, I am thinking about the next chance I will get to pick up my switch and hop back in. Seriously fun, satisfying combat mixed with an engaging story and considerable learning curve make for an incredible experience that is well worth your time and money.

    The music is beautiful, the graphics are really unique and outstanding and the gameplay overall is just really fun. Some of the cinematics make me feel I'm wathcing anime, because the story is really great too! Loved the game

    Character customization's (Including their name, your twin will always be Akira though). Fun and interactive combat style. Visually nice graphics. Soundtrack is great too with an Anime like opening and ending. In the interview the game's director mentioned they were going for an Anime vibe.

    This game made me put a lot of attention on the controls, that made the combat system immersive and I loved it, as for the investigations pre missions, well it was repetitive but I loved to see the Ark and its people.
    If u want a great experience and great visuals for the switch u have to play this game.

    Dudava si comprar-me lo o no ya que no havia oido a hablar mucho del juego però lo veia muy chulo. Decidí comprar-lo y estoy contento de haver-lo comprado creo que es un juego muy bueno y muy infravalorado. Si estais dudando si comprar-lo os animo a que si!

    Frenetic hack & slash combined with exploration and RPG touches... Pure Platinum Games... Action, adrenaline at it's full... Wonderful cyberpunk aesthetics, storyline with anime/manga vibes and kickass soundtrack. A satisfying gem for the Nintendo Switch

    Great game! While its story is generic, narrative is good in the game, visuals are gorgeous and it runs extremely well. Only a few framerate issues from time to time but nothing that ruins the experience.
    Totally recommended for any Switch owner.

    Played for 50 hours so far. Excelent new IP with a lot of content for completionists and interesting story. The OST is great (Dark Hero is top) and setting fabulous. I had the same fun as while playing Nier:Automata.

    Borrowed this game from my best friend...It's so good! Definitely Top 10 for the Switch! Gameplay is crisp, visuals are simple but beautiful, story is compelling, the usage of different innovative systems and dynamics (detective work, changing weapons/legions, etc.) is stunning. The "Viewtiful Joe Effect"!

    Incroyable !! Ce jeu est légendaire, c'est la toute première fois que je joue à un jeu de chez PlatinumGames et c'est une grande réussite, j'ai très hâte de jouer au prochain jeu de ce magnifique studio, j'ai vraiment envie de voir ce que Bayonneta 3 aura dans le ventre.     I had never played one of Platinum's games before but it looked cool so I bought it. It is really amazing. It's one of my favorite switch exclusives and I'm not the biggest fan of hack and slash games. The graphics are awesome and the style they used is really cool. The story is great and the case solving idea is very unique. I love the music as it fits the game nicely.     This game exceeded my expectations, a lot. I was very invested in the story and it's characters. The combat is easy to use, but hard to master because of your 5 legions and your chain. There is not much to do after the story, but its okay. Because the story is pretty long, and it has a satisfying end.

    A masterpiece! You have a switch? You want action? Buy this game! It deserves all the love and respect. A lot of games on switch falls short compared to Astral Chain. Nice graphics nice sounds nice combat nice everything. We need more games like this.

    El juego es muy bueno, para mí, es de lo mejor que he jugado en Switch, el gameplay está muy pulido y es muy frenético en las zonas de batalla, pues cada legión tiene sus usos y enfoques específicos, tu tarea es saber usar cada una en su momento debido y de forma coordinada, y todo acompañado de un buen diseño de personajes, enemigos variados, música decente, etc.

    He visto que hay gente    El juego es muy bueno, para mí, es de lo mejor que he jugado en Switch, el gameplay está muy pulido y es muy frenético en las zonas de batalla, pues cada legión tiene sus usos y enfoques específicos, tu tarea es saber usar cada una en su momento debido y de forma coordinada, y todo acompañado de un buen diseño de personajes, enemigos variados, música decente, etc.

    He visto que hay gente que le molesta las misiones secundarias, siendo sincero, no son la gran cosa, pero tampoco lo pondría como algo negativo como algunos hacen ver, en mi opinión son entretenidas. También he visto quejas del plano astral, pues es poco variado, y eso no lo voy a negar, pues la estética casi no tiene variación, pero yo me enfoqué en otra cosa, y es que los mejores puzzles se encuentran ahí.

    Si te interesa un juego difícil, yo recomendaría subir la dificultad desde el inicio, pues creo que no es tan retante si lo comparamos con otros juegos, como Bayonetta, al menos en las misiones principales, pues el juego cuenta con misiones al terminar el juego que no son difíciles, son lo siguiente.

    Este es el primer "análisis" que hago aquí, y es debido a que me hubiera gustado que este juego tuviera más éxito, que más gente descubra y juegue algo que a mí me gustó tanto, así que si tienes duda si jugarlo o no, si te llama cualquier cosa del juego, lánzate directo, te prometo que eso que te llama la atención, ya sea gameplay, ambientación o diseño, va a ser lo que piensas y más.    … Expand

    This game absolutely deserves the hype!!
    It is one of the best games I played and not just on switch. This game is platinum games on it‘s finest. The graphics are outstanding for the switch. The sound fx and soundtrack are on point and the crossover between the electronic music and metal is just genius.    I saw the hype on youtube and after playing it for about 14 hours I gotta say….

    Astral Chain is definitely one of the top 5 Switch games available for the platform. Also one of Platinum Games best titles to date. There is little to no flaw with this game. Any Switch owner needs to have this game in their collection. Everything from graphics, sound, story (very anime, but good), controls, fun factor, gameplay, etc. This game delivers with such polish and high quality.

    One of my favorite switch game, the combat system is top tier. My only complaint is the camera angle sometime is really annoying, and there is no jump button but you will get used to it.

    A mi parecer de los TOP 5 juegos de la Nintendo Switch, la atmosfera Cyberpunk es buena, la jugabilidad es increible, combinar los Legions y hacer combos es divertido, los personajes tienen un fenomenal diseño, y que se puede decir de la música es adictiva, tanto el soundtrack como la música con letra.

    This is a full action game. I'm really impressed by how PlatinumGames managed to make a game full of action where you control two characters at the same time and you only have to press few buttoms. It's just crazy. One of the best game-plays of all the games in Switch. Also the characters and overall design is gorgeus. It's a must-play on the platform.

    LOVED LOVED LOVED this game.

    Once you get the hang of the gameplay and the buttons (and there are a LOT of buttons in this) you'll fall in love with this game. The storyline is corny in places but ultimately you eventually do care for these characters.

    Didn't want it to end.

    Great game with really unique combat. Starts off slow but picks up around chapter 3 once you start getting more legions. Not as complex as bayonetta but not nearly as simple as nier automata. Graphics are pretty good too considering the hardware. Beware review bombing console and DMC fanboys. The only major complaint I have is certain controls can be tricky.

    There are so many great indie titles on the Switch that I’ve managed to avoid buying many full-priced titles so far. I’m so glad I picked up a copy of Astral Chain. I would recommend this without hesitation to anyone who enjoys action games. It’s dazzling to look at. The controls are deep but everything is rolled out in stages so it never seems overwhelming. It’s awesome.

My one and only nitpick , is at times the camera can be wonky. This takes it from a 10 to a 9. It’s very difficult to give any game a 10 anyways. This is now up there with BOTW and Mario Odyssey as my top 3 games on the Switch. One of those games you just need to buy and start playing to see how great it is. Don’t pass this one up.     One of best games from platinum games. The combat is is somewhat hard at first because u have to control 2 characters simultaneously. But i got used to it. Once u get used to the combat system the game actually get fun. Keep switching ur legions and use their unique abilities and combos to finish off ur enemies and earn higher grade. Instead the game is divided in chapters. In the beginning of each chapter u get to free roam certain small sections of the city, conduct investigations and do side quests. The side quests are unique and sometime they are pretty funny. The best part of the game are the bosses. The fights are amazing, engaging and sometimes it gets emotional. After u beat the game a new optional chapter is unlocked. In here u can take optional cases from ur hq and Can grind for better chips. If u complete all the cases u can unlock a secret super boss which is pretty difficult. In short the game is amazing, worth every penny. It got review bombed because its a switch exclusive.… Expand

    At first I had some problems getting used to the controls and hardy got better rank in fight than C. Now, that I mostly hit S and started to understand the mechanics involved I have really great fun!     Love the use of astrals not only as battle companions but when in the open world finding hidden areas, traversing terrain you couldn't before and using them to assist you in multiple ways with your case and side-missions.

    I haven't gotten too far into the story yet, but it didn't pull me in quite as fast as a title like nier: automata did. It feels like there are a lot of parallels to the nier world just in terms of the situation Earth is in along with a team of NPCs to help you figure out just what exactly is going on at any point in time.

    I normally play on handheld but for this title I'll most likely play on docked only, the pro controller just feels better for overall movement and combat while the switch itself feels a bit clunky IMO.

    Overall, great impressions so far. Can't wait to continue through and hopefully 100% the game.    … Expand

The only "slowdowns" you experience are the Perfect Dodges which are really just Astral Chain's version of Bayonetta's Witch Time. They slow time so that you can launch a counter attack.

    Astral Chain is another fantastic title from Platinum, and it deserves all the praise it's getting. Platinum was clearly experimenting with this title and it brings with it many 'firsts' for the company. For the first time in a Platinum game, you can customise your protagonist (though the customisation is limited to hair, eye colour and clothes). Unlike their previous games, AC has some metroidvania elements - as you unlock more Legions, you can enter previously inaccessible areas. The game draws inspiration from Bayonetta, Nier Automata, Batman Arkham series and Detroit Become Human, and it does so proudly. There are a few easter eggs for fans of previous Platinum titles as well, which is a nice touch. Just last night I unlocked 2B's voice for IRIS, that was a cool surprise.

    The graphics and attention to detail are stunning as is usual for Platinum. The UI and menus are very stylish and nicely animated, there are tonnes of particle effects everywhere, and even nice little touches like your X-Baton glitching when your Legion is out, the ground under your Legion's feet rippling and pixelating, your character's eyes lighting up when IRIS is active, their hair and eye colour changing when synced with their Legion, the Legion Core swirling and twisting in your Legatus... none of this is necessary but it shows how much love Platinum put in their games. Character, monster and vehicle designs are brilliant. Visuals deserve A+. For the game to look its best, play in handheld mode or on a standard HDTV. I'm playing on a 4KTV and the lack of antialiasing doesn't look that nice. It still looks pretty damn good, but nowhere near as good as PS4 Pro.

    The sound design is great as well, the soundtrack is particularly good, but that is to be expected from Platinum. Voice acting is just average, though, and some characters are pretty bad. Lip sync is also pretty much nonexistent. It's just nitpicking and it doesn't ruin the game in any way, but I still want to point it out. The protagonist is also silent, which annoyed me quite a bit. It looks rather awkward when everyone around you talks and you're just standing there grunting occasionally.

    Technically the game is very polished and runs very well. Haters love to point out the 30fps cap, but Bayonetta runs at 30fps too and they praise that one... Idiots and hypocrites. Story-wise, it feels a bit cliched. It's pretty much an amalgamation of every futuristic anime ever made. The artwork inside the game's box is also pretty spoiler-y, which seems like a rather odd choice.

    The combat is surprisingly underplayed in this game. You still fight a lot, but it's not as intense as Bayonetta was, and you spend a lot of time quietly investigating, talking to witnesses or sneaking around. It uses the classic 2-button combo system, except this time 1 button controls your character while the other controls your Legion. Chaining them together and timing them just right allows you to pull off some cool moves. You also directly use your Astral Chain to solve environmental puzzles and in battle. Each of the 5 Legions plays completely differently too. There's a melee Legion, a ranged one, a heavy hitter you can wear as an armour, a Legion that digs out enemies buried underground and you can also ride it like a horse... It adds variety and you're forced to switch Legions depending on the situation. If you're a fan of Platinum hack'n'slash, this game has a fantastic combat system you'll love!

    When you're not fighting, you use your IRIS to review security footage identically to how Detroit did it. There are also lots of hidden areas, secrets and collectables, which add additional replay value.

    Overall a great, great game I fell in love with instantly. Highly recommended! Looks, sounds and plays brilliantly. A definite must-have for any Switch owner. And if you're a PC peasant reading this, do yourself a favour and get the Switch instead of impotently hating online. I was just like you (minus the metabombing, I couldn't be bothered), until I finally relented after a year of dissing it. I'm so glad I did!     First off all: This game is running on tablet hardware, which also needs to run portable without draining the complete battery in 15 minutes.
    Some concessions have to be made, and everyone owning a Switch knows this. Its also not like every cell shaded art style looks the same.
    This one imo is surely on the cooler side, with some a lot off cool inbetween steps on rounded surfaces, cool particle effects and such. All of this also really helps selling this unique style of cyberpunk to me. And maybe, just maybe, these sly "issues" with fidelity even help with that, as everything about this aesthetic is digital glitches and pixelation.

    As for the soundtrack: It's simply amazing. It's just the right kind of music to go with every moment and set piece. Especially the combat themes are superb to me.
    It's all a cool blend between what i would call scifi-electro stuff, and cool metal guitar riffs.
    I own the collectors edition with the soundtrack, and i'm really looking forward to having many of these tracks come into play later in the game.

    Now to the gameplay side. I'm about 4 hours in and the game really starts to open up in the gameplay variety department. You get introduced to new legions (kinda the main "weapons" in this game), customization and updgrade options, new combos and new ways to use the chain mechanic in a really good pace. I also really appreciate how the game manages to coherently splice many mechanics from other games into it. The game really feels like a "platinum games best of" in that regard. And all of this doesnt feel shoehorned to me.

    At last i want to talk about the "weeby" characters and story. This game is an unapologetic loveletter to classic anime, and i love the game for it.
    Do many character stereotypes look familiar and one dimensional? Yes. Are the dialoges often corny as hell? Yes. Does the story feel like every shonen anime ever smashed together? Yes.
    Yet i enjoy every second of it. It's still just so entertaining to experience and have fun with. You'll never know what crazy Thing happens next. Nothing more to say really. (as i wouldnt want to spoil stuff)

    To summarize: I really, really like this 30fps, cellshaded, lofi, piece of badass anime-cyberpunk trash for all that it is. And i'm really looking forward to playing much more of it.    … Expand

    If you're looking for an action game that goes beyond action, had a solid story, good graphics, and combat that's easy to learn but hard/fun to fully master, this is the game for you.
    Aside from a few instances where lip synching doesn't quite match the English voices, the game has no major flaws, other than some missions stretching out without combat for too long on occasion.

    Well worth the wait. A complicated, but fantastic combat system, a cool artstyle and hype as hell boss battles. It's Platinum Games at it's best. Shame about the review bombing made by fanboys with too much time on their hands on this website. Feels good to be able to play gamds on multiple platforms. Stop being so bitter, you guys.

    This title has a frankly ridiculous amount of depth. You can cruise through the game with very little challenge, or you can strive to complete each task perfectly. It must have taken a gargantuan amount of effort to make all these different difficulties viable and fulfilling. On top of that, the story is engaging enough to make me want to keep playing, chapter after chapter.

    Very anime-esque feel to the game, this format makes it quite refreshing from the other typical AAA's out there, combat can feel a bit slow at times, the game does feel like it's an experiment from Platinum so it's not going to be to everyones tastes but if you have an open mind, you may find it a surprise.
    To me I thought it was pretty impressive.

    from the funny side quests to the amount of detail they managed to add and so much more

    while free roaming in the map you can do cop stuff such as arrest graphite artists and pick up littered trash and cleaning up the streets by doing that you will get good points for obeying the law and if you destroy property you will get bad points for not acting like an officer which is a good thing because it kind of keeps the role playing alive

    the amount of detail and animations they added is just astonishing i was really amazed by the game even more than a normal ps4 title only because its a switch exclusive and it is hard to do a good looking game on a weak console like the switch

    the endgame missions are a cool add on adding more difficult missions and newer monsters and the whole thing is just awesome

    the music is just awesome although recycled at certain locations the music is just a masterpiece and fits really well with the action scenes and the resting chill moments

    cons:

    the character you pick is just voiceless and has no personality what so ever and the other twin just takes
    the spotlight which just sucks i really wished my character would have a voice and talk about all whats going on and not be a voiceless blend character

    It really annoyed me the whole Im the main hero and give me all your powers meaning at the end you will have all the legions they show you in the beginning and it really sucks because they could just give you three or two special ones and let the other characters keep theirs and so they could do more character development and make you care more about the characters you meet

    not much replay value you can replay the game twice with the other twin but besides that and changing the difficulty there isn't much

    they really recycled the homunculus bosses although there was a different approach every time it was still annoying to fight the same enemy 4 or 5 times

    in conclusion astral chain is a must buy switch exclusive although there are some minor problems the game is really amazing and i really recommend it my final score to astral chain is a 9 out of 10    … Expand

    Astral Chain offers a lot of cool and creative ways of playing the game, giving you a decent amount of character creation! Nothing big, but definitely something that'll help you create the character that you desire, whether it be you, an imaginary character, or even some OC 's online. There is even the ability to change your character's Pants, Shirts, Hats and even the ability to change their hair and characteristics after the original creation of the character has already been made.

    When you go out to explore the game, it helps direct you with maps that are simple to navigate but at the same time don't make the game too easy for you. Not allowing the ability to find important items easier, but instead directing you to important events, missions, and characters without you have to spend most of the game trying to figure out where your objective actually is.

    The fighting mechanics were BEAUTIFULLY crafted with the mechanics at first being easy to understand and gradually becoming more and more mechanical. With some true dedication and training, you can pull off HUGE strands and combos that are Dante level kinds of crazy. The UI definitely helps with fighting, being crystal clear and displaying all the necessary information while the sound cues are hear-able, and spot-on when it comes to something important going on in a fight and the utility of the Legions caught me off guard, at first making me think that I would only be allowed to use the Legion abilities in battle, but I was shocked when I discovered that all of the abilities granted to the Legions, were 100% always usable in the world to traverse various types of lands, solve cases and missions throughout the game, and even altering and shifting various amounts of lands and platforms too.

    Performance in the game is AMAZING, you'll notice a small bit of frame dropping when there are hundreds of enemies on the screen at one time, but it usually only lasts just a few seconds, and it then clears up right away. The game feels great in both TV and Handheld mode, and both modes look flawless retaining the graphics for both modes of play.

    The difficulty of the overall game is pretty accurate to its description, Easy, Casual, and Hard modes are given to you and you are allowed to swap and change these modes whenever you please after every "file" or world event is complete, even if you're playing on Normal or Easy mode, you'll still have some difficulties with bosses that should be pretty difficult to regardless.

    To chain everything together, Astral Chain provided me with a breathtaking experience through a Mechanical world, creating a strong bond not only with my Legion, but with the story, and the characters within the game. It created strong incredible scenes that lifted me out of my seat, made me excited, sad, and even sometimes confused and it continuously pulled me in with its amazing plot developments and its executions, chaining me down to my chair for hours on end locking me away with its story.    … Expand

    The controls are a little clunky when you first start using your legion... it takes some time to get used to. The game is very heavy-handed with its cinematics but it sets the stage very well... the very beginning is very exhilarating keeping you on your toes (even when you take your time trying to do everything). all in all, it is a very good game... not a 10 out of 10 but very close IMOThe controls are a little clunky when you first start using your legion... it takes some time to get used to.     Astral Chain consists of varied genres, but is mostly an action game, which has great ideas and interesting, relaxed humour, that doesn´t spoil its serious plot. [Issue#298]
