If you've played The Sims before, there’s nothing here that will grab you by the short hairs and make you take notice.
-
Not really The Sims, more like an RPG with chores. Entertaining nevertheless. [GamesMaster]
-
I can't get over the load times and freeze-ups. Even as good as the graphics are I would take a blue screen background if the damn game would just play for fifteen minutes without a hiccup.
-
In terms of gameplay, the game surpasses its console counterpart, but the technical snags drag it back down.
-
The worst and most obvious problem with the game is the constant loading. Performing just about any action--going indoors or outdoors, playing a minigame, beginning a conversation with someone, ending a conversation with someone--causes the game to load for a good second or two.
-
It's fair to say that Sims 2 for the PSP would've been among the best of the console ports, but a couple of glaring issues drag it down. In particular, the load times are a nightmare.
-
The Sims 2 feels a little scaled back on the PSP and even though there are a few extras added in the experience isn't as free roaming as before. The loading really makes the game hard to recommend as a portable title.
-
The Sims has become a huge franchise seemingly overnight, but this simplified PSP port is let down by clunky controls and bare features.
-
Game InformerI've been a big fan of the series' portable outings in the past, but htis is just a big dud. [Feb 2006, p.113]
-
One thing's for sure about The Sims 2 on PSP: when load times comprises 30 to 40 percent of the gameplay experience, it's excruciatingly boring.
