Play MagazineUnfortunately, there isn't a Franchise mode in MVP, but there is a great season mode, as well as an addictive Homerun Showdown. [May 2005, p.71]
-
Gameplay definitely takes some getting use to, due to the design of the PSP.
-
Sure you’ll miss the features found on the bigger boys (Owner Mode or even Spring Training Mode) but there’s just no denying how good this game feels in your hands.
-
There isn't another baseball game on the system that feels this authentic or puts so many aspects under the player's control.
-
MVP’s a solid game that does a nice impersonation of a PS2 title, but its got a number of flaws and missing features that make 989’s "MLB," not MVP, the baseball game to have for the PSP this year.
-
PSM MagazineSimply a solid hit rather than the round-tripper it could've been. [Aug 2005, p.84]
-
Next time we want better looking characters, models, more detail in the stadiums, no black-out screens, less glitches and online gameplay. They're completely capable of pulling it off, which makes their shortcoming here all the more disappointing.
