One of the better baseball games out there. I was a big fan of 2004, and this plays very much like it. Would have liked a franchise mode, but the season mode is good fun. Definitely worth the wait.

This is way better than MLB. Besides you can't trust MLB look at Gretzky NHL. It's not all there! This game is so sweet. Buy it!!!!

I bought MLB to hold me over but it just didn't cut it. This game is much better. MLB is a really good baseball game, don't get me wrong but EA did it right with MVP. The only gripes i have about the game is that it doesnt have all the features in MVP 2005. It is more like MVP 2004. There isnt the mini-games i was hoping for or the hitters eye and ability to move in the batters I bought MLB to hold me over but it just didn't cut it. This game is much better. Other things that are a bit frustrating are the controls taking some getting used to with the lack of a second analog and only 2 shoulder buttons. In all, with its short comings, it is better than MLB, but not by too much. But it offers gameplay that MVP fans are familiar with and its easier to play a game you are familiar with, similar to learning a new language. Anyone can do it with practice and when forced to, but most people just stick to what they know. Expand

Gameplay is ok. I do have a major problem like Marc S. where substitutions lock up the PSP. This sucks especially when you are at the bottom of the 9th... I have a habit of saving the game. I know that the game can't be as good as the PS2 version because of storage, BUT, it would;ve been nice to have a reason to rotate your players. There is no stamina for your team so you can always Gameplay is ok. I do have a major problem like Marc S. where substitutions lock up the PSP. I think this game is amazing. i has awesome graphics for PSP but PS2 has better graphics. PSP is a little bit blockier but they are still great. and brent is right b/c it is just like MVP 2004 but with updated rosters. all in all this game is great. and u should also get NBA street showdown.

This game is great fun when it works, and were it not for the bug described below, I'd give it an 8. The first copy I had worked great for about an hour, then started locking up the system whenever the CPU made a substitution. For a company to charge $50 for a piece of software with obvious bugs like this is unforgivable. Kiss my butt, EA sports. I'll be dropping this turd of a game off at your headquarters tomorrow and asking for my money back from you personally, since the store I bought it from won't give refunds on open software. Expand

I rented MLB while waiting on MVP to come out. I wasted my time. MVP's graphics remind me of PS1and trying to play on any level besides rookie is nearly impossible. During the homerun derby you have to swing immediately after the pitcher releases the ball. Pathetic game and way below EA standards. On the other hand I was pleasantly surprised by MLB by 989. I used to be a big 989 fan during the PS1 days but EA stole the show. 989 has made me a fan all over again. Expand

The game is awsome and by far the best I have bought for my psp. However, there is nothing worse than getting into the top of the ninth, with a 1 run lead and 1 out away from a big winand Bam! the game freezes. I have had it happen too many times to count. I had to get used to waiting for the scrren to flash, which signals me that the game is done with the substitution. Then proceed with The game is awsome and by far the best I have bought for my psp. 1. Gameplay definitely takes some getting use to, due to the design of the PSP.

If this title had come out before the console version, I'm sure we'd have been amazed by its accomplishments, rather than puzzled by its mistakes.
  3. Sure you’ll miss the features found on the bigger boys (Owner Mode or even Spring Training Mode) but there’s just no denying how good this game feels in your hands.
