The perfect way to play Don't Starve. It works beautifully on the Vita, aside from some slow loading, and complements both short and marathon sessions wherever I may be - it's safe to say that Don't Starve: Giant Edition may never leave my Vita memory card.

This is a solid port of a solid survival game. It doesn’t have the same crafting depth as other games like Terraria or Minecraft but it does a fine job by giving a survival experience like nothing else.

Don't Starve on the Vita does come with a few gripes, but it has some added benefits which end up putting it on par with its PS4 counterpart. With cross-buy making this most likely available to you right now, there isn't any reason that you shouldn't get stuck in. However, if you hated playing it on Sony's home console, the small changes here aren't going to change your mind.

Don't starve was always a good game. But it's best on the vita, and here's why:
The graphics look fantastic and the colors are very vibrant.
The game runs smoothly and except for loading times which are a bit on the long side, the game is very well polished mechanichly and I haven't came across any bugs or glitches.
The gameplay mechanics implemented in the game are the biggest reason why this version is the best one: the game has you always scared and always trying to survive, and the moment you feel safe the game puts another challenge and you need to use every daylight time the game gives you to your advantage. But the game still has one of the best pick-up-and-play feelings thanks to the quick gameplay and constant action combined with random generation and permadeath, although when you die you gain xp that unlocks new characters with different perks. The game also encourages trying new things and doesn't hold your hand and explains every feature of the game.
The controls are very well suited to the vita. No complaints whatsoever.
It's worth to note that the game is bundled with the Reign of Giants expansion which adds a lot of content, although I suggest beginners turn the expansion off for their first playthroughs.
I can see myself sinking hundreds of hour in this game. Highly recommended.

The game itself is actually pretty nice. I have played it before on PC and I never really enjoyed it, but it works really well on the PS Vita. I really like how the game works, especially how you need to rush around the map during the day to try and get as much wood to get your fire going through the whole night, as well as trying to find the things that you need in order to make new things.
I can definitely recomend this game, even at its somewhat high price.
