Don't Starve is one of my favourite games in PC.And as a psvita user I was waiting for its release in the handheld.Because I think it's the perfect game for a handheld. The game is about survive, and with the Vita you can "survive" wherever you want as you travel or go to work for example. It's excellent.

Don't starve was always a good game. But it's best on the vita, and here's why:
The graphics look fantastic and the colors are very vibrant.
The game runs smoothly and except for loading times which are a bit on the long side, the game is very well polished mechanichly and I haven't came across any bugs or glitches. The gameplay mechanics implemented in the game are the biggest reason

The gameplay mechanics implemented in the game are the biggest reason why this version is the best one: the game has you always scared and always trying to survive, and the moment you feel safe the game puts another challenge and you need to use every daylight time the game gives you to your advantage. But the game still has one of the best pick-up-and-play feelings thanks to the quick gameplay and constant action combined with random generation and permadeath, although when you die you gain xp that unlocks new characters with different perks. The game also encourages trying new things and doesn't hold your hand and explains every feature of the game.
The controls are very well suited to the vita. No complaints whatsoever.
It's worth to note that the game is bundled with the Reign of Giants expansion which adds a lot of content, although I suggest beginners turn the expansion off for their first playthroughs.
I can see myself sinking hundreds of hour in this game. Highly recommended.

Don't Starve: Giant Edition is a fantastic addition to the PS Vita's line-up. The art style looks beautiful on the Vita's OLED screen. The controls are easy to use, which is an important feature that some Vita games lack.
The game itself is actually pretty nice. I have played it before on PC and I never really enjoyed it, but it works really well on the PS Vita. I really like how the game

I really like how the game works, especially how you need to rush around the map during the day to try and get as much wood to get your fire going through the whole night, as well as trying to find the things that you need in order to make new things.
I can definitely recomend this game, even at its somewhat high price.

My only problem with this particular version is that loadings are much longer and building a new scenario takes about 3 times as long PS3 version does.
But the feeling of playing this game on the go is priceless, cross buy is certainly appealing and gamepad controls are precise enough to make me prefer this version over the mobile ones.

Don't Starve: Console edition was my first exposure to the Don't Starve game, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The game did make me want to play it on the go though. The VITA was perfect for the game. The move to a portable device was not without its hiccups. There are loading/saving screens that were not in the console version of the game, but that is expected. The graphics and Tim-Burton-esque art style fit very well with the game and look great on the small screen.

The controls for the game are not clunky at all, but might a little hard to see. This is no fault of the game's though. The VITA's screen is not the largest in creation. After playing for many hours, there are no glitches that are apparently obvious yet.

The game makes you think on your feet. The game does not hand-hold and makes you think for yourself on how to gather supplies and stay alive day to day. If you are looking for a survival game to play on the go, This is the one to pick up.

    And don't forget, Don't Starve.

Everything else on the PS4 version is still here from all the characters and quirks to all the pain and suffering you will have to endure to stay alive.

A fantastic addition to the Vita, and one game that I will always be drawn back to playing.

Don't Starve, that's it! This game is a survival simulator where you have to meet your basic needs of survival and as you play, more tools and knowledge start to unravel making this a very simple, yet deeply addictive casual pick up and play with harcode difficulty :) needless to say..... It's a blast.

It's an interesting and fun little game. Difficult sometimes, but pretty nice. I like surival games like this. I don't think it's worth $14.99, though.

Herm, but this is the kind of game you don't stop talking about, so I would add a few things. Mechanics and strategies are addictive, reign of giant adds a bit more challenge and the adventure mode is the 'final stage which concludes the experience'. But damn, those pengulls keep ruining the framerate at winter, it's a plague, in fact, the

Don't Starve on the Vita does come with a few gripes, but it has some added benefits which end up putting it on par with its PS4 counterpart. With cross-buy making this most likely available to you right now, there isn't any reason that you shouldn't get stuck in. However, if you hated playing it on Sony's home console, the small changes here aren't going to change your mind.

This is a solid port of a solid survival game. It doesn’t have the same crafting depth as other games like Terraria or Minecraft but it does a fine job by giving a survival experience like nothing else.

The perfect way to play Don't Starve. It works beautifully on the Vita, aside from some slow loading, and complements both short and marathon sessions wherever I may be - it's safe to say that Don't Starve: Giant Edition may never leave my Vita memory card.
