Having to figure outDon't Starve is a game of survival, exploration, and eventually learning to thrive that doesn't hold your hand. Having to figure out everything for yourself can be both rewarding and frustrating. This trial-and-error type of gameplay isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea; there are a lot of things to learn about survival, and you learn by dying and starting over.

You can alter the game's settings before starting, however, making a brutal game more palatable by removing certain monster types for instance, although this also means giving up on crafting resources, possibly meaning you won't be able to create certain items.

The PS3 version has a number of problems: I found my character to be stuck in place sometimes after loading a save file, and it also happened after exiting a cave, leaving me no choice but to die in both cases. The game also crashed once after which my save file was corrupted.

Give the game a try of the gameplay appeals to you, but I don't recommend the PS3 port.
