Oct 30, 2025Thanks to meaningful new additions such as crossplay, rollback netcode, and a meaty single-player mode, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage cements itself as one of the very best fighting games currently available.
-
Nov 23, 2025The World Stage mode adds a meaningful single-player experience with unlockable cosmetics and secondary tournaments, while the inclusion of Dural and improved online features enhance replayability, although the mode can become repetitive and the paid DLC for Dural is frustrating. Despite minor drawbacks, the game remains visually appealing and mechanically deep, making it the most complete and polished version of Virtua Fighter 5 to date.
-
Nov 12, 2025An enhanced remaster with more content that shows how Virtua Fighter has all the potential to become something special with its believable combat, while rival series delve deeper into fantasy.
-
Nov 7, 2025Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is the most complete version of a fantastic game that you’ll find on modern platforms and a must-purchase if you love the series and haven’t played it anywhere else recently. PS4 owners can even upgrade for a reduced price, which is probably worthwhile. It ultimately offers a pretty minor upgrade to the game’s recent packages, though.
-
Nov 5, 2025Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is the latest edition of the two-decades-old (yes, really) 3D fighting game, and one that finally makes it available for modern consoles. It plays as well as it ever has, with a steep but mega satisfying learning curve, and an incredibly diverse roster of characters. World Stage mode is a fun little single player addition, but lackluster customization and long matchmaking times remain as the game’s weak points.
-
Oct 31, 2025Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is the definitive version of this beloved game, thanks to the titular new mode and Rollback Netcode.
-
Oct 31, 2025Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.: World Stage is the most complete and accessible version of SEGA's classic 3D fighter, bringing long-requested single-player content, improved visuals, and robust online features to modern platforms. While some decisions around monetization and platform exclusivity may frustrate longtime fans, the core gameplay remains as sharp and rewarding as ever.

Oct 30, 2025While it may feel a little limited for gamers who are more used to a plethora of options, fighting game players who are looking to test their skills and improve their abilities against a host of play styles will find plenty to love with this one. Tight without ever feeling slight, Virtua Fighter 5: R.E.V.O. World Stage is a great choice for players who loved the Virtua Fighter series or who want to improve their fighting game mechanics.
-
Oct 30, 2025A useful upgrade to previous iterations of Virtua Fighter 5 and while it still exhibits the same old flaws, it ably demonstrates why this is still one of the most revered fighting game series in history.
-
Oct 30, 2025Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage serves as the finale for a game with an amazing track record. The new single-player content, crossplay, and rollback netcode are great additions that allow players to continue enjoying its excellent gameplay. However, as a definitive edition, it could have been improved upon by removing payment barriers.
-
Nov 6, 2025Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is a great game. In fact, this version should have been released back in 2021, but the improvements it brings make it a highly recommended title for both those familiar with the series and those who have never heard of it. However, there are some basic things that other major franchises in the genre already offer, and VF5 could have included them as well, such as a better presentation for the Training mode, more freedom in customization, and the ability to edit the playlist played during matches.
-
Oct 30, 2025Don't be fooled: Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is a great game, but with few new features when considering only this new version. Hardcore fans will be happy with the addition - finally - of rollback netcode. But the new "World Stage" mode leaves something to be desired.
-
Oct 30, 2025Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage plays it safe but remains deliberate in its execution. Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage gives both new and returning World Tournament fighters a reason to jump back in and welcome fresh challengers. Expecting more than the competitive spirit of “fight everyone on everything” might lead to a ring out for your expectations, though.
-
Oct 30, 2025Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage brings the iconic fighting franchise to a new generation of players, now featuring rollback netcode, crossplay, and several modern additions. Gameplay-wise, it’s the same deep, technical fighter fans have loved for years, though new learning tools make it more welcoming for newcomers. Visually, it’s the best version yet—but it’s also a clear reminder that the series is overdue for a full-scale evolution.
-
Nov 10, 2025Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O could have been the perfect opportunity to bring attention to the franchise’s name, but unfortunately it is just going in circles on itself for over 19 years now with the same release.

Nov 6, 2025Overall, if you’ve played Virtua Fighter in the past, R.E.V.O. World Stage is a great way to return to the series, thanks to its ‘World Stage’ mode, better graphics, and more. If you’ve heard of Virtua Fighter before, but never had the chance to play it, R.E.V.O. World Stage is a fantastic way to get into the series before the sixth entry arrives.
