    Very dissapointed in Callisto. They tried to copy dead space but failed badly. Game is very unbalanced. Super short and they want to charge 70$? Yeah I dont think so. Its worth MAYBE 2$ and a bag of lays

    It's a solid Game. The first hours it is really good, the second half of the game get a little repetitive and it seems they ran out of ideas. Also they used the same mini boss (to this point, not completely finished the game yet). Sadly no puzzles. Story is alright. Graphics are really top notch. Runs great on PS5. Not a Dead Space Killer like we all hoped but still a solid horror experience.

    An exemplary choror with a very viscous atmosphere, with a good plot and good personages, the gameplay is for an amateur, but I really liked it overall 10 out of 10

    Fantastic game, brilliant story, great combat but no replayablity. Started playing on Friday morning competition by Sunday lunchtime, roughly 20+ hours gameplay

    Spend 3 hours and share with you what I think about this game. Cons: * Rigged story! Why are we flying there? Why do I need to go to this location? You are always in an I-go-somewhere-to-do-somewhat state of mind! No big picture! No motivation! Everything is so weak compared to Alien Isolation! * Performance is terrible on PS4. I turned off all effects, which    The Refund Protocol

    Cons:

    * Performance is terrible on PS4. I turned off all effects, which still give you substantial frame drops, especially in cutscenes where the frame rate is 15 fps. And loadings after your deaths. They are long! A minute or so! Fight 20 sec and wait for 60 sec to die again) I understand that PS5 performance is much better, but you could cut the price or not release such a game for the older generation. I feel tricked by Sony for paying full price for this!
    Pros:
    * Fight has exciting mechanics.
    * Screamers are still there if you a fan

    Conclusion: I will refund this game.    … Expand

    Regarding performance issues: The PS5 version is fine and has none. And it looks fantastic in quality mode. The 'outrage' that is currently happening is because of the performance on other platforms.

    Regarding the game itself: It is a very straight forward spiritual successor of Dead Space, which was exactly what I wanted. Loving it so far.

    Great game! Played it on medium difficulty and feels like I can for sure replay it on the harder one and then maybe one day even try the upcoming hardcore mode. Game is worth the money and is a great survival horror game. Dont listen to the haters

    The Callisto Protocol is plagued with poor mechanics and repetitiveness that left me wishing the game was over halfway through.

    Lets begin with what the game does right, The story is what you expect from a game like this. Figure out what is going on and escape the ship. I am not really upset about the story being very bland and uninteresting because this is a survival horror game its    The Callisto Protocol is plagued with poor mechanics and repetitiveness that left me wishing the game was over halfway through.

    Lets begin with what the game does right,

    The story is what you expect from a game like this. Figure out what is going on and escape the ship. I am not really upset about the story being very bland and uninteresting because this is a survival horror game its supposed to have great atmosphere, good combat, and scares.

    The Graphics are some of the very best I have ever seen. Character models look realistic, and environments are photo realistic as well. The game looks very good.

    The Atmosphere is great, it makes you feel like you are there, Good biometric fog effects and the sound design is awesome.

    I played the game on the PS5, I did notice some loss of frame rates, and some technical glitches that required me to restart my game. Nothing game breaking but they were there. They will probably be patched out within a month.

    Now lets talk about the downfall of this game, the combat.

    The Combat is too simple that it's boring. Melee fights feel like a turn based RPG. You dodge the enemies attacks and then you attack. You can't attack when they are attacking because you will take 100 times more damage then they will take. So basically you just take turns attacking. Melee fights with multiple enemies is even worse. You can only dodge one enemy at a time and you can't see all the enemies coming at you because you're auto focused onto one enemy so you pretty much just take cheap hits when there is nothing you can do about it.

    A huge factor for the repetitiveness of the game is because the lack of enemy variety there is almost no attack patterns to remember since all the enemies are the same. there is no dread in turning the corner and seeing a new enemy and just not knowing how to fight it. There is also a huge lack of weapon variety. And what makes it worse is that most of the guns are useless so that results to you using melee attacks. The guns are also boring, Dead space you got cool mining equipment like the plasma cutter in this game you get a pea shooting pistol.

    Also many of the environments feel the same. Dead space had interesting environments, in this game everything looks the same except for a few places like the habitat, and the outdoor sections (chapter 4 & 5). What also adds on to the repetitiveness is the missions. All of them are just go find a fuse and use it to open the door". Almost every chapter in the game has a go find a key card or fuse part in the chapter.

    Do not expect much scares in this game either. There is not a lot of suspense and tension most of the scares come from cheap jump scares that you can tell are coming from a kilometer away. I was not scared once playing through this game.

    The game isn't terrible it's just boring and repetitive. I was bored when I was halfway through the game. I shouldn't be bored in a short game that takes 7 hours to beat. I was expecting it to be like Dead space, I thought it would bring something new and exciting to the survival horror series but I guess my expectations were too high. I blame all their marketing for the backlash on this game. The marketing got everyone's expectations too high and they feel let down that the game is average at best. The developers should've spent more money on game play systems and less money on marketing. The game is worth a play when it drops to around $30.    … Expand

Das einzige was mich auch etwas "stört", sind die Speicherpunkte, wenn diese mit einer längeren Videosequenz zusammenhängen. Aber jammern auf hohem Grafikniveau.

    This a great cinematically based horror with emphasis put on action. Not as scary (forr me) as Alien Isolation (which I see as the scariest game I ever played),    Maybe high-level wise there are some similarities to Dead Space, I do not consider it a disadvantage.     it's decent but 70 euro's for a game i beat in 7 and a half hours is unacceptable..
    buy the complete edition for around 40 euros and you got a good deal

    Это не клон Dead Space,но есть пару фишек от туда. Игра выглядит прекрасно на PS5,хорошая детализация персонажей,интересный сюжет и место. Боёвка очень простая и скучная,потому что всегда ты делаешь одно и тоже.Игра не страшная,но атмосферная,поэтому она заслуживает свою оценку в 7-8/10.Это не клон Dead Space,но есть пару фишек от туда. Игра выглядит прекрасно на PS5,хорошая детализация персонажей,интересный сюжет и место. Боёвка очень простая и скучная,потому что всегда ты делаешь одно и тоже.Игра не страшная,но атмосферная,поэтому она заслуживает свою оценку в 7-8/10.

    Level design is the bottom of the barrel. linear paths with minimal interction with    Callisto Protocol fails in every respect except graphics. The unconventional melee the game is centered around is poorly thought out and disorienting. when fighting multiples the auto lock-on is sure to kill you. later on guns and ammo become more common but even as a shooter its bested by its older peers.
    Level design is the bottom of the barrel. linear paths with minimal interction with the environment. small optional side paths exist but but add little to the level design. when traveling make sure to go the optional way first. because the games are full of points of no return. Most of these arent predictable either, such as doors locking behind immediatly for no reason. to top it off youll be slowly crawling and side walking even more GOW ragnarok.
    On a related note, inventory and saving is busted. you have a limited inventory but no way to store items. The items you cant pick up will surely be lost on account off the invisible points of no return. saving makes item managment unbearable. a game may save before you pick up optional path items, then dying sends you back to before, not only before the battle, but before you tediously picked up items on a side path. This cant be ignored becuase selling items is key to upgrading. This is why dead space had SAVE STATIONS. I could go on and on about every detail that was done correctly 20 years ago in other games but I wont. Callisto Protocol misses every detail that makes a Horror or Action game work, and worst of all its NOT scary.    … Expand

    It's 50/50 with performance. I've experienced some pretty terrible performance on the PS5. Run button doesn't work half the time, disappearing enemies, death loops, the checkpoint system is absolutely terrible, it takes way too long to simply switch between weapons forcing you to commit to the absolutely atrocious melee system... All in all - it's not a good game, not worth $70, and doesIt's 50/50 with performance. I've experienced some pretty terrible performance on the PS5.     20/10 amazing game if you’re a dead space fan you’re gonna be in love it blows the entire dead space franchise out of the water lol so original and fresh in all the right ways from story to combat amazing… we’re gonna need a sequel.

    While visually it’s excellent. Good audio. Story is present. My biggest fault would be the clunky combat, the severity of certain encounters that make a game go from tense to pure frustration. I cannot finish the game it’s too frustrating and i’m nearly to the end. Very sad but I think I’ll be giving this one up.

    I've been waiting for another dead-space game/dead-space-like game for a long time. For what it was it was alright. I enjoyed some parts of it and I didn't enjoy some other parts. The game visually is incredible to look at however the level design itself is linear with some extra halls. Gameplay-wise it's pretty much just dead space 1 with some additions to it that don't innovate itsI've been waiting for another dead-space game/dead-space-like game for a long time. While I did somewhat enjoy it I'm still disappointed in it for how much potential it had to be a fantastic game.

    So I'll go through the pros and cons of the game real quick as a tl:dr for anyone:

    Pros:
    - Nice melee combat

    - Great visuals and environment design

    - Awesome character design

    Cons:
    - Lack in enemy variety and unique mechanics

    -Very linear pathway and story

    - Barebones lore that I did not care for

    - If your pc cannot run the minimum then there will be performance issues    … Expand

    So here's the deal, if you liked DeadSpace, you'll like this game. If your numb to jump scares, like I am, it'll be like a "Hardcore Action Adventure game"... as a gamer I've seen it all, & killed it all, so.. "horror survival' which is what this game falls under..

    Well its not really "horror" to me.. its more like "annoying gimped action adventure experience"..

    Anyways, I got side tracked. The game is very atmospheric, & story driven. It really is a solid experience from that perspective. It does have things that annoy me though as a player.

    For instance, I got stuck on the "tram mission" hardcore, even though I prepared, & figured on what was going to happen. It was just "death loop" OVER & OVER & OVER.. but up until that point, things had been pretty smooth sailing. I'd prepared as well as I could have.

    Inventory management is a pain in the butt for WAY TOO LONG in the game.

    Anyways, if you want something that's a homage to dead space, & good story telling, for the most part.

    Highly recommend checking this out! It's got its "quirks" but overall a very solid experience.    … Expand

    Callisto Protocol makes some mistakes, but in general computing the good wins by far. It is true that it is somewhat angry to see that something with so much potential has not been fully squeezed, but what it offers is already much more than most. We trust that combat system that we have loved and its setting to make the game worthwhile and we would love to see a second installment.

    A visually beautiful sci-fi experience which, surprisingly, doesn’t resort to simply cloning Dead Space. The difficulty and the fear factor both don’t reach the heights I’d expect, however. A shame! It could have been extraordinary.
