    Game is amazing, atmosphere, combat, animations, graphics everything is so gorgeous. The only thing that lacks are some enemy variety and I’m pretty sure they’ll add em in the sequel. Reviews sites hated the game with 0 reasons, probably nobody payed em like most publishers do.

    Great great game. We don't need RPG elements + open world in every game. The combat is awesome, the game is hard but really fair. I cant wait for the new game plus and dlc, and i hope we get sequels.

    I liked the game. It could have done more in the puzzles (opening the doors of a maximum security prison by cutting a flat cable is too much) and in the armor. Missing New Game+. Overall, it's an excellent game..

    People got this game wrong. Saying that combat is clumsy is just wrong. Sure, if you use wrong weapon, it is. Played it on hardest difficutly and i stick to melee weapon and skunk shotgun, position yourself to see every enemy on screen fight melee and pump shotgun in the whole group, easy as that.     This game is awesome!!! I alomost didn't by it due to all the negative reviews and I can see how people can pick it apart, but their loss. I took the dive and spent the money and I am not dissappointed. The graphics and sound is at its peak on the PS5 and its complete eye candy. I get the controls and the combat is not the best but is fun as heck. Smashing everything and causing carnageThis game is awesome!!! Боёвка очень простая и скучная,потому что всегда ты делаешь одно и тоже.Игра не страшная,но атмосферная,поэтому она заслуживает свою оценку в 7-8/10.Это не клон Dead Space,но есть пару фишек от туда. Игра выглядит прекрасно на PS5,хорошая детализация персонажей,интересный сюжет и место.     It's not perfect but it's still fun the atmosphere is top notch and graphics are life like with a decent story gameplay can get challenging at places but overall I would say this was fun I am really amazed to see so many bad reviews for this game

    Loving the game! Finally we get another taste of Glen Schofield's Imagination. It's been too long since we have gotten a sci Fi horror survival game. I hope we get a Calisto Protocol 2 in the future and this game becomes a franchise

    Great game, great atmosphere, great combat, playing time is great being longer than Dead Space 1 and 2, I finished it in about 13 hours, which is great for Survivor Horror games and people who are complaining about the game time they should play an RPG or an open world if you want so many hours of repetitive content.

    20/10 amazing game if you’re a dead space fan you’re gonna be in love it blows the entire dead space franchise out of the water lol so original and fresh in all the right ways from story to combat amazing… we’re gonna need a sequel.

Lol I've never EVER seen a game get trashed like this when in all honesty it's the best game I've played all year, and it's also the most Next gen looking game I've seen since the new consoles launched.     El juego es muy bueno, revive la atmósfera de terror y Survival horror.     This game makes you feel a certain kind of way and it's incredible at it.
    Don't sleep on this one just because journalists ran a coordinated smear campaign. They did so they could shill for the big 3 and further degenerate gaming into nothing but factory filth. Guess they have to make sure real games don't get made anymore.

    The biggest complaint I keep hearing is that you lock on to the enemy that's attacking you, so it doesn't work for multiple enemies or... something. I gotta tell you that this game gives you all the tools you need. If a second character gets too close, you will still dodge it because it instantly locks to the enemy attacking. What you need to do is use the telekinesis glove to throw extra enemies out of the way if you get overwhelmed. SIMPLE AS THAT. Just pay attention to the environment and use everything you can to dominate enemies, that's what hazards and explosion tanks are there for. Just use them. Figuring out how to not get overwhelmed and managing enemies is THE WHOLE POINT, while being as ruthless and efficient as possible. This game is basically perfect at everything it attempts. I can't believe all this bad press it's getting from people who PLAY VIDEO GAMES FOR A LIVING, so you would think they wouldn't suck.

    Another thing is "it's just linear OMG I can't endlessly explore idiot areas aimlessly wahhh" Go play Ubisoft you morons. Get some micro trans checklists you're such a glutton for. Because that's exactly what you'll get when you only give excellent scores to cookie cutter games. You get what you deserve you fools. This game is a series of expertly crafted and paced GAUNTLETS, it always is throwing a new challenge at you each and every time and highlights the actual depth and game design prowess on clear display.

    Oh and too many vents... Well would you prefer broke asses with old systems and hardware couldn't play it? You need that to hide loading screens, besides this is how the previous games were and part of the DNA. They paced it out extremely well and I'd argue you wouldn't get near the same "Dead Space feeling" without them. It's all about vibe. What's funny is that this is a cross platform game and STILL has the best graphics I've ever seen in a game. Try and tell me it doesn't look like a literal movie from start to finish!

    This is a beautiful game (highly graphic) In my own playthrough i didnt saw any problems, Even frames problems , but i give a 8 cuz the story is complicated and didnt give us a history of main character,

    Great sci-fi horror experience! I really enjoyed it and recommend it for anyone who enjoys this genre of game. Reminded me a bit of Resident Evil 2 Remake, but without all the backtracking and with a final boss you can actually fight and beat (with a bit more space to maneuver too). Remember to use a mix of all weapons and also heal whenever in the yellow and there is a moment to breath.

For Unreal Engine 4 it is very impressive. The devs did great work on turning it into something closer to UE5. The story and characters are solid, and the combat brutal and terrifying. Honestly, it could have been just as good without all the disgusting death scenes. We really shouldn’t be so entertained by it, like we’re all serial killers inside. Anyway, the dodge and GRP mechanics make it interesting. No running around mashing buttons to roll around to dodge (which is horribly old, honestly). Well worth the purchase on PS5.… Expand

The dodge mechanics may appear difficult in the beginning, however, with practice, it is not, even on the hardest settings. The game run excellent at near constant framerate of 60 fps on performance and 30 fps with raytracing. Overall, this game should satisfy old school horror fans due to its cinematography/atmosphere and rewarding game mechanics.… Expand

    Callisto Protocol is a breath of fresh air in a world full of games that hold your hand. It a lot of fun and can be difficult at times. But the death animations make it a joy to start back over from a check point. I play a lot of survival horror games and for any fan of that genre, I think you will enjoy this game. The dodge mechanic didn’t take long for me to figure out. If you’re in aCallisto Protocol is a breath of fresh air in a world full of games that hold your hand. Es mag sein, dass die Checkpoints nicht immer optimal gesetzt sind, aber dennoch gibt es davon mehr als genug und wenn man das Ausweichen einmal verstanden hat, ist das Spiel auch nicht sonderlich schwer. Die Kritik, dass Callisto Protocol unvollständig released wurde, weil man Todesanimationen per DLC nachreichen wird, ist auch stumpfsinnig, da es genug Todesanimationen gibt und man hier auch nichts vermissen würde, wäre die Info über den DLC nicht bereits gestreut worden.

    Wie immer bleibt für mich 4players die einzige Webseite, die das Spiel mit 89% gerecht bewertet hat. Top Spiel, welches für mich jeden Euro wert war.    … Expand

    Well its not really "horror" to me.. its more like "annoying gimped action adventure experience"..

    Anyways, I got side tracked. The game is very atmospheric, & story driven. It really is a solid experience from that perspective. It does have things that annoy me though as a player.

    For instance, I got stuck on the "tram mission" hardcore, even though I prepared, & figured on what was going to happen. It was just "death loop" OVER & OVER & OVER.. but up until that point, things had been pretty smooth sailing. I'd prepared as well as I could have.

    Inventory management is a pain in the butt for WAY TOO LONG in the game.

    Anyways, if you want something that's a homage to dead space, & good story telling, for the most part.

    Highly recommend checking this out! It's got its "quirks" but overall a very solid experience.    … Expand

    Great game! Played it on medium difficulty and feels like I can for sure replay it on the harder one and then maybe one day even try the upcoming hardcore mode. Game is worth the money and is a great survival horror game. Dont listen to the haters

    True survival horror, unlike some games where regular enemies become a joke half way through after you upgrade your equipment and you learn their quirks. Here thats not the case.     Ignore the reviews if you plan on playing this on PS5. Game runs smooth, has great ray-tracing, 4k res, stable 60fps, and it has great reflections too........ unlike the Xbox Series S (Potato) which is one of the worst consoles ever made. Can't even run 40fps at 1080p

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Good game that could be great. First of all I did not experience any issues on Quality mode on PS5 all works great. The graphic is really impressive, well done, lightning and shadow are on point. Sound impressive and game constantly tries to keep you on edge with sounds. Horror....hmm not that much horror here, cheap jump scares here and there, gory yes but that is it, more on the disgusting side than on horror itself. The gameplay is a mix, you can fill the punch with weapons or baton. The dogging system is hit-and-miss, off-screen indicators are non-existent and dogging takes over so you are unable to move so some encounters could get hectic and chaotic. So combat is good and dogging is bad thing here. Story...what story? The game is short but sweet, at least for me, since I enjoy graphics and action here. Expected horror and left disappointed, story hungry, and sometimes frustrated with dodging. All in all solid 8 (expected 10 from my hype and all the trailers) and I can recommend this as good action Sci Fi game that could be great Horror Sci Fi experience.… Expand

    I'm giving this game a hesitant 7 out of 10, on the cusp of being an 8 but not quite.

    It would be impossible to not draw comparisons to Dead Space as this game is most definitely it's spiritual successor, as you're walking around stomping on boxes and dismembering limbs it gives you a good hit of nostalgia, but all the while I felt there was just something missing.     It would be impossible to not draw comparisons to Dead Space as this game is most definitely it's spiritual successor, as you're walking around stomping on boxes and dismembering limbs it gives you a good hit of nostalgia, but all the while I felt there was just something missing.

    The environments, though absolutely stunning, don't feel quite as purposeful or unique as in dead space, at points I had to wonder "Why on earth would they have these big corridors full of endless pipes, what on earth are these for?". This issue kinda extends to the enemy types too, they're pretty limited and you don't have those moments where a giant tentacle is dragging you down an airvent.

    A lot of people complain about the difficulty, and when I started out I was wondering if I could actually complete this game, but combat against standard enemies does get easier. With that said some of the boss encounters are frustrating as hell and I found myself dying just because I tried to dodge out of the way and got stuck in a corner. I don't mind a challenge, but playing the same arena a dozen or more times just because you walked into an unassuming area without enough ammo or health is pretty frustrating.

    Presentation here is a 10, I played in performance mode because i'm not a savage, the audio is great (Though I hit a few really strange issues through my headphones where there seemed to be just too much going on and it got fuzzy).

    The story is good, I just for some reason wasn't on the edge of my seat most of the time, ultimately the twist is painfully predictable from the get go.

    I enjoyed it, I'm not paying such a huge amount for the season pass unless that extra content turns out to be more than a cash grab.    … Expand

    Another excellent entry by the people behind Dead Space. Tough, brutal and wonderfully dark in every sense. There are some technical issues that hopefully get patched in the future, but this still remains an excellent game so far.

    Had alot of fun on PS5 with this one - some genuinely wow visuals happening in here! The gameplay is very repetitive over longer sessions of play - but the atmosphere of the visuals, sound and animation is great to come back to again and again.

    I found the melee combat system to be so frustrating- ended up setting auto dodge and auto melee up to save from getting too stressed out.     But there was something there that made me want to push on.

    And then it all fell into place. At some point it all clicked and felt right. I got my head around the mechanics and what the gameplay was. From there I was pinging off my head with adrenaline. Each new area felt intense, and the more I jacked up my guns and gear the more satisfying it felt. Everything has a weight to it (reminded me of Joel in The Last of Us 1), and therefore is really satisfying to pull off.

    The sound design and execution is literally the best I've ever heard in a game (I noticed in the credits it's done by Skywalker Sound, so it's no wonder). The visuals are insane and dripping with tension and atmosphere. The story is serviceable, but comes home with some interesting stuff at the end which definitely makes you want more.

    Overall I ending up really enjoying it and have finished it 4 times already, trying different play styles on each run, and also getting the Platinum. My only gripe in the end is that it didn't launch with New Game Plus.

I feel some of the reviewers just don’t like the genre or any change in fighting mechanics. I applaud the devs for giving us a different spin on the genre.     Totally loved the game. Played on PS5 and quality of game is amazing. The Gameplay mechanics are very different to other games. For some people different can be bad and for some it can be good. For me it's very good. Graphics and animations are top notch. Story is good. Game longevity is good for a horror/survival game.

    The Callisto Protocol is mostly a good time. There's some strange game design choices that can make parts of the game frustrating.

    The combat system is actually pretty fun once you get used to it, but it's interesting choice and oddly reminds me of the system in Silent Hill Homecoming. It's not as weirdly frustrating as the system in that game, but there's similarities. The biggest    The Callisto Protocol is mostly a good time. There's some strange game design choices that can make parts of the game frustrating.

    The combat system is actually pretty fun once you get used to it, but it's interesting choice and oddly reminds me of the system in Silent Hill Homecoming. It's not as weirdly frustrating as the system in that game, but there's similarities. The biggest gripe I have is that there's no real mechanics/options given to the player for dealing with enemies coming in from all directions. This can lead to some frustrating encounters in the latter half of the game when enemies are thrown at you in waves. This shift in the game really means there should have at least been a quick turn around mechanic of some kind. There are a few boss fights in the latter half of the game that are especially frustrating for this reason where you are asked to pinpoint smaller enemies with guns and engage the boss in melee combat at the same time. Your character's movement speed isn't fast enough to deal with this effectively. It can be done but it isn't exactly fun. Then there's the weapon selection system. I found myself fumbling through the system trying to select a gun that actually has ammo only for it to cancel back to the gun without ammo. This, I believe, is because the gun changes all require an animation that shows Jacob switch out the gun on the same 'mount.' It becomes this game where you're dodging incoming enemy attacks while you're fumbling through the weapon selection menu trying to find out why you keep pulling out guns, or the same gun, without any ammo. The weapon quick selection mechanic seemed weirdly worthless to me when the animations take so long you kinda just end up with a gun in hand that might not be appropriate for the combat situation you're in.

    These moments kind of kill the thrills of what is otherwise a really good and great looking game. All of that said, I still really enjoyed The Callisto Protocol andI think there's a lot going on here that could turn into a really good franchise if some of these gripes don't tank it before it gets off the ground.    … Expand

    BACK TO THE STOMPING GROUNDS!!! This brought back my Dead Space PTSD, and I've been smiling through-out the whole game. The graphics are jaw dropping on ps5. The scenery feels like you're really moving along an industrial factory, full of eerie moments. The controls feel great.

    Regarding performance issues: The PS5 version is fine and has none. And it looks fantastic in quality mode. The 'outrage' that is currently happening is because of the performance on other platforms.

    Regarding the game itself: It is a very straight forward spiritual successor of Dead Space, which was exactly what I wanted. Loving it so far.

    Just finished the game. Got it from day 1. Amazing graphics and atmosphere, with strong dead space vibes. A great addition to the survival horror genre. I'd give a 10 if it lasted longer.

    My true score would be an 8, but to counter all the unfair,low hate or dislike scores I give it a 10.

    I'm 16 hours in, I've done a lot in the game, explored everywhere, killed every bloody thing that tries to get in my way, and it has been a stellar experience, from the graphics, to the fight scenes, the melee combat, the guns. Yes there are some hard areas where you'll have to replay it several times to get through, but the checkpoint system works really well here, you'll never be frustrated when you die and respawn.

    I've played dead space a couple months ago in fact, but not completed it, whether this game is a great dead space sim I'm not sure, but what I am sure is that it's a great game, an incredibly fun experience, and I've enjoyed every second of it so far, exploration, combat and story and all. Don't believe the bad reviews, they either haven't taken the time to enjoy this game or they're just salty it's not dead space part 4    … Expand

    Callisto Protocol makes some mistakes, but in general computing the good wins by far. It is true that it is somewhat angry to see that something with so much potential has not been fully squeezed, but what it offers is already much more than most. We trust that combat system that we have loved and its setting to make the game worthwhile and we would love to see a second installment.

    A visually beautiful sci-fi experience which, surprisingly, doesn’t resort to simply cloning Dead Space. The difficulty and the fear factor both don’t reach the heights I’d expect, however. A shame! It could have been extraordinary.
