Tales of Xillia Remastered is an ideal game for newcomers to the series and one of its standout entries. The remaster does little more than meet the basics, but it preserves the addictive gameplay, its innovative combat system, and a story that leaves a lasting impression.

Tales of Xillia Remastered allows players to (re)discover a major episode of the franchise, a powerful human adventure, in a version that combines heritage and modernity.

For fans, this remaster is a welcome return. It respects the original without rewriting it, and gives players a reason to look back on it fondly. For newcomers, it offers a chance for those who may have missed Tales of Xillia at its initial launch to experience it in the best possible light. No surprises are waiting in its familiar paths, but perhaps that is the point. Tales of Xillia Remastered is less about discovery and more about remembering how the journey used to feel.

Tales of Xillia Remastered brings classic JRPG charm to modern platforms, with heartfelt characters and rock-solid combat. It shows its age in pacing and visuals, but fans and newcomers alike will find a rewarding adventure beneath the old-school sheen.

So, while there are elements of Tales of Xillia that don't quite measure up to today's standards, the core adventure remains rock solid, and the remaster brings some welcome additions and extras to the table. This PS3 RPG deserved a good re-release, and it's got one.

Tales of Xillia Remastered brings back a key JRPG, but with a bare-bones upgrade. The combat still shines, yet the technical improvements are minimal and the visuals clearly betray their PS3 origins. A competent but unambitious return that works, though it never fully justifies its comeback.
