50 bucks for another port of the awkwardly-named TO:Let Us Cling Together? Hard pass.

Good game. Bad price point. Don't fall for yet another Squenix cash grab. Wait for a sale or use an emulator.

This game has nothing new. It's just a re-release in 4K... A big waste of time and money.

I’d say game is unfinished. Design decisions (this game specifically) that reduce or remove fun. The last boss must not have been beta tested as it’s neigh impossible. I’m a veteran to the genre and I found I had little fun the whole way fun, and quit the final boss after 5 tries. Top level, best gear I could make, full items, min maxed team. It’s a bad game with zero accessibilityI’d say game is unfinished. Design decisions (this game specifically) that reduce or remove fun. Starting to wonder looking at all the recent square games what the literal **** is happening at HQ.

Avoid this game if you value your time and sanity, it really is that bad.

Overall, Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a fantastic game! As a fan that has played all three it’s hard to say which version I like best. I like the system changes made in Tactics Ogre: Reborn, simplifying removing skill points from the game and entirely relying on magic points in fights makes a lot more sense. The biggest problem with this version is removing random encounters from the game. While I understand the choice, they could have just added the level cap and possibly kept random encounters — which is something I enjoyed doing in other tactical RPGs such as Final Fantasy Tactics. Overall, I really enjoyed my time in Tactics Ogre: Reborn and look forward to many more hours with the game.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn really set the gears in motion for a genre. Since the first launch of this game in 1995, a lot has changed and this title has been staunch in both keeping to its roots and also making some needed changes to modernise the game.

For the most part, Tactic Ogre: Reborn is a good game. Heck, it's a great game. But my run took me headfirst into what feels like the cheapest and most unfair change of mechanics that I can remember in my entire personal gaming history. The entire playing experience was spoiled as a result. With the review finished, I am now deleting this game from my hard drive and never returning. I feel betrayed by a terrible design choice and look at the dozens of hours to get to this point as a waste of my time.
