    this game is really beautiful, it's a breath of fresh air, beautiful art direction and a moving and captivating story, in just 3 hours of play it completely captivated me, it certainly deserves the indie awards, One of the best games I played this year

    a great game and wonderful neon cyberpunk city visuals. IMO many gamers have no real game they fully resonates since FPS games(non BR) a simple complex rudimentary game like this. Not sure if multiplayer would change rating, but playing the campaign was deeply satisfying when games don't really bring a hype and novelty like this game. LOVED IT needed more

    This game is something all gamers have been waiting for, It's beautiful, breathtaking and it has cats. The story will make you tear up with joy and sadness and it will give you some spooky times too. But in the end, when you finish this incredible yet sadly, short game, you will rest for a bit as the credits roll and realize the masterpiece you've just finished.

    What a refreshing and original concept. Controls are very tight and responsive. Easy to pick up and learn. Graphics are more “next gen” than anything on Xbox Series, ( I own it) and the music and sound is top notch. There’s an interesting and easy to follow story with some beautiful artistry to support it. There’s no blood and gore, nudity, swearing, or explosions, and this is the bestWhat a refreshing and original concept. Controls are very tight and responsive. Easy to pick up and learn. There’s an interesting and easy to follow story with some beautiful artistry to support it. There’s no blood and gore, nudity, swearing, or explosions, and this is the best platform game of 2022 by far. If Elden Ring hadn’t come out this would be game of the year easily. This is the type of game I buy Playstation for and thank you to everyone who worked on this and the publishers who took a chance on something new and different. There’s an audience of people who are sick to death of the same games every year and endless sequels. I’ll take this over Call of Duty 20 or Madden 30 any day. Worth owning a PS5 for and simply a great game-do yourself a favor and play it if you’re able.… Expand

    Great and unique adventure game that was definitely worth my time and money. Not a masterpiece in my eyes, but still one of the better games in recent memory. The biggest downfalls for me were the lack of character/enemy variety and the underwhelming ending. I would've enjoyed the game quite a bit more if there was at least 1 additional level at the end.

    This game is a masterpiece. It's gorgeous, the animations are amazingly real for everything the cats do, and it gives you all the cat activities you could want - snuggling/playing with other cats, running and jumping and climbing on everything, scratching trees and couches and carpets, napping, knocking things off ledges and tables, hitting buttons on radios and remotes, playing with toys,This game is a masterpiece. It's gorgeous, the animations are amazingly real for everything the cats do, and it gives you all the cat activities you could want - snuggling/playing with other cats, running and jumping and climbing on everything, scratching trees and couches and carpets, napping, knocking things off ledges and tables, hitting buttons on radios and remotes, playing with toys, getting bags stuck on your head.... the list goes on and on.     Game is good & unique..my biggest disappointment is that you can’t jump freely & since this game is mostly exploring and physics based not being able to jump freely is a turn off & restricts the fun a bit..still worth a play

    Extremly enjoyed this game! I got the platinum too and kind off want to play it again a 3rd time. Probs the most relaxing game that came out this year.

    Even though I'm a cat person, I wasn't 100% sure what to think about it before the release. I played it and absolutely loved it. The behavior displayed is just so spot on. Refreshing and just wholesome for a change. Definitely Indie game of the year.

    I’ve only played a few hours and I’m absolutely in love with this game. Amazing graphics, beautiful soundtrack, and wonderful controls on the PS5. plus the haptics and adaptive triggers are a real treat. This has been a purr-fect game!!! Even though it’s free on PS Premium and Essential, I would gladly pay for it. Hell I might even get the hard copy. Do yourself a favor and play thisI’ve only played a few hours and I’m absolutely in love with this game.     Actually, would give this game a 9 out of 10. but once again the negative reviews are a joke. There will never be a time in which a game will get a proper score. People please don't bring down scores of really special and unique games just because your upset with the world and probably a cat hater too. even if you didn't enjoy the game a 5 would have at least been more realistic.     Stray is an outstanding experience, a wonderful and gorgeous looking game. A truly unique little adventure that the studio created here with its first project. Very impressive.

    What a great experience. It may not be groundbreaking in terms of gameplay, but the experience is strangely captivating. It’s hard to put into words what it is about this game that makes it great because when you really boil it down, it’s just a platforming game light puzzles and streamlined climbing physics similar to Assassin’s Creed. Like I said the gameplay works well, but does nothing special. I think the immersion of being a cat lost in a strange world filled with strange creatures trying to find a way back to your friends is really captivating. You aren’t a cat with superpowers or anything, which I thought was really cool. Sure the robot helps you communicate with the other creatures, but generally you move around like a cat, meow or scratch to get the attention of other creatures, and it just has this simple but heartwarming story of a cat trying to find his way home. You really become invested in the experience, I just can’t put it into words. Something about the game really tugs on your emotions. It’s just so expertly crafted that you feel a sense of investment into a minor character’s story after reading maybe 5 lines of dialogue. Then there are times where the game really makes you feel helpless as a cat, which further invests you into the story of this nameless little cat. The graphics are generally really good, the music and sound design is fantastic which really adds to the ambient experience.

    I absolutely loved this game, it didn’t set out to do anything groundbreaking, but it is a moving experience that is difficult to describe. The best way I can describe this game is that it has heart that few other games have, and it’s masterfully executed through simplicity.    … Expand

    The story is very creative and unique. I love being a cat. You can tell the developers were cat lovers by the effort they put into giving the cat a unique character without necessary talking. I have never felt so terrible when my character dies than in this game - it’s devastating.

Perfect game the environment was so good and the gameplay was a 8/10 if i rate it and the story you think that the story is about stray cat but it's about a whole place we're the robots got felling the one who wants to meet his father and the one who wants freedom and don't forget b-12 story it was shocking and the ending was sad how b-12 died… Expand

    I've been eagerly awaiting this game since the first trailer. Of course I bought and played it right on the release date. I wasn't disappointed! It has a dark atmosphere and is very detailed. Too bad it isn't that long but I still love it.

    If you are allergic to cats, hate mystery, exploration and a good atmosphere in video games, don’t play Stray. Otherwise, you’ve probably already beaten it. It’s a rare occasion to get a title such as this. And if it looks like something you might enjoy, that’s likely because you most surely would.

    Stray makes the most of its choice of protagonist early on, really allowing you to do all the things a typical cat would do, though it eventually loses sight of that in favour of spotlighting the short story. That’s no cause for hissing, though it does leave the overall experience feeling somewhat like two kittens from different litters forced together. The combination works better than it should, but we’re ultimately left wondering what could’ve resulted if either half of the game had been given enough space to stand alone. [Issue#18, p.70]

    It sounds ridiculous. And maybe it is. But the first ten minutes of Stray broke our heart. We’re a soft-boiled egg when it comes to animals, even when they're completely fictional. A cat who loses his friends and then gets hurt? Enough for an intense feeling of sadness and pity. It is not the challenge, but the experience that is key in this game. You really play Stray for the atmosphere. And that's exactly right.
