Apr 24, 2024A South Park game is always welcome, and Ubisoft has shown how to do it. THQ Nordic, on the other hand, is showing how not to do it. The levels are rather simplistic, the combat is stiff, it gets repetitive very quickly and the game has difficulty spikes. On top of that, South Park in 3D feels strange and the game just isn't that engaging. Still, to end on a positive note, the AI is okay and the original voices are used. However, that is not enough to justify a purchase.

Apr 2, 2024On paper, South Park: Snow Day! sounds like a blast—a co-op RPG action set in the 3D world of the legendary series, complete with its trademark unfiltered humor. However, in practice, the completely broken combat system and very poor technical solutions make this title look like nothing more than a huge missed opportunity.

Apr 1, 2024South Park: Snow Day is a slight effort that feels somewhat underdeveloped. The combat has a chaotic feel to it without any real nuance or precision. The few missions that are here follow a familiar path and it misses some much needed variety. The random card drawing can deliver some variables but not enough for encounters to feel different. South Park's humour is here but it's in much smaller doses and simply can't carry what's a mediocre offering.

Mar 28, 2024As it stands we have a rather generic and repetitive short lived battle game that’s lacking any real gameplay innovation. The story is dull and there are not enough laughs.
-
Mar 27, 2024With creators Matt and Trey taking the reins on projects such as Stick of Truth and The Fractured but Whole, it seemed that the dark age of South Park games was behind us, but unfortunately, Snow Day marks a significant step back for the series.

Mar 25, 2024It's hard to determine exactly who Snow Day is meant to be for. The ideal player of South Park: Snow Day has three other friends who are extremely into South Park, to the point of enjoying anything with the character's faces painted on it, and those three friends also enjoy battling waves upon waves of unintelligent NPC fodder with single button mashes while occasionally pressing one of two other buttons to execute an ability. These four friends should also laugh hilariously at the idea of a Taylor Swift album fetching "nearly half a roll" on the toilet paper black market - honestly, if that one joke doesn't snag you, it's all downhill from there.
-
Apr 8, 2024South Park: Snow Day! changes the formula of previous titles to become a game without identity and little enjoyable. Its lack of content is as notable as the lack of fun in its gameplay and the generic nature of its roguelike elements.
-
Apr 2, 2024Who on earth is this for? Are conformists to blame? Or Canada? Boring, short, and without any hint of what makes South Park South Park. A dismal attempt at a cooperative game that nobody asked for.

Mar 26, 2024South Park: Snow Day's biggest sin is the complete lack of what made Fractured, But Whole and Stick of Truth work so well: their humor. Gone are many of the edgy jokes that made the previous two entries stick out, instead being replaced by characters that feel neutered and lacking the punch that helped make the animated series such a hit for oh so many years. Everything feels safe and stale, meaning that Snow Day is an easy pass for those looking to re-enter the world of South Park on their consoles or computers.
