    It's a nice change of pace from the previous Sonic games. The stages used to be more narrow and straight-forward, but now you can just take your own pace and explore around. There's different things for different people, you can even adjust the speed of Sonic, for a better experience, or for accessibility reasons. This game gives free choice on how you want to play it and that's why I loveIt's a nice change of pace from the previous Sonic games.     Great ideas came when making the game but the unnecessary introduction of old sonic mechanics are the thing that ruined part of this game for me.
    I'm talking about the cyber space levels,they are so out of tone in relation to the rest of the game,they feel unoriginal and from what I felt the controls and sonic movements are made for the open world,not for these mediocre levels that they    Great ideas came when making the game but the unnecessary introduction of old sonic mechanics are the thing that ruined part of this game for me.

But what SEGA should keep in future 3D Sonic games is none other than the Cyloop skill, I practically use it to get memory tokens, and I draw some among us with it too.     The only complaints I have are that the game needs polish, and feels a little rushed at the end, cyberspace is fun, but they could be better.

    Easily my favorite Sonic game of all time! While not nearly as stunning as Breath Of The Wild, or as story-driven as God Of War, this game is very fun to play! As a very huge Sonic fan, I was hyped for this game since the teaser!
    Running around the Starfall Islands at the speed of sound is very fun, and the bossfights are at their best in this game! And the combat system is a blast! I    Easily my favorite Sonic game of all time! While not nearly as stunning as Breath Of The Wild, or as story-driven as God Of War, this game is very fun to play! As a very huge Sonic fan, I was hyped for this game since the teaser!

    The OST is also a huge win for this game!
    This game was also blessed with amazing writing as well, fixing many character flaws that ran rampant in previous titles.
    However, while it has more redeeming qualities, this game is not without flaw. The secret true final boss, THE END, is a very disappointing one, and throws the unique Titan bossfights out the window. the momentum in this game is also pretty wonky.

    Great experience overall, the game starts slow but once you digest the mechanics and level up the character it speeds up and becomes addictive. Especially the later island 4 was an example of great platforming design and change of pace mid game. Soundtrack was great (check the play count on Spotify for proof) and the dlc added also nostalgic background music.     Good game. Could've been better, I would've liked some of my nitpicks with speed being oddly slow in a sense but also it's just a few things that annoyed me that others probably won't be mad about. DON'T PAY FULL PRICE FOR THIS GAME THOUGH! IT'S NOT WORTH 60 DOLLARS!

    The game could’ve been polished up better. The enemies do not look interesting to look at all. They look like they were made last second. There was good ideas installed in this game like open zone and a attempt at a good story. The story failed to be interesting compared to games like sonic adventure, sonic adventure 2, and even the worst sonic game of all time sonic forces. Sega please make a great sonic game it’s overly needed. The chao garden & sonic adventure and other cool sonic games await us but only if you start trying to be greater than what has been done already. There hasn’t been a great story since after sonic adventure 2… with exceptions of 2006 sonic. Please bring the great hedgehog back.… Expand

    If you are a Sonic fan who has been following the franchise up to this point, this game is a blessing, but if you don't know much about this universe, its characters or its gimmicks then you probably won't enjoy this game as much.

    The story isn't anything spectacular, but the Sonic cast are represented to be more serious and they feel more mature, which is appreciated by Sonic fans    If you are a Sonic fan who has been following the franchise up to this point, this game is a blessing, but if you don't know much about this universe, its characters or its gimmicks then you probably won't enjoy this game as much.

    The story isn't anything spectacular, but the Sonic cast are represented to be more serious and they feel more mature, which is appreciated by Sonic fans everywhere. The maps are really nice-looking, but the rendering could use some work. The combat is visually amazing, but very basic in terms of the button inputs (which isn't a factually bad thing). The enemies are a mixed bag, since some are pushovers and others are straight up annoying as heck to fend off. The side stories are nice but they don't contribute that much to the overall story or progression.

    The fishing minigame is broken; it basically gives you whatever you want for cheap prizes, if that's a agood or a bad thing depends on who you ask. The puzzles scattered through the islands are fun, but that's basically most of the gameplay, and eventually it will become repetitive.

    Overall the best things about this game are the soundtrack and the boss fights, and the worst thing about this game are the cyberspace levels, since your mobility and control over Sonic are amazing in the overworld but they feel off in 2D levels focused on speed.

    As I said before, if you've known Sonic and have been following his games for the past decade, this game is a gem; however, if you don't know as much about this universe then it will most likely leave you with mixed feelings. I have to give it an 8 purely because I'm a Sonic fan, but it's understandable if you disagree, I'm just giving my honest opinion.    … Expand

    I'm so happy that the future of Sonic The Hedgehog is looking bright. After this game, I was in shock from how good this game was, especially after... Forces. The game is just the right difficulty for both types of gamers and I loved the game. (The soundtrack is so good!) I love this game so much but not enough for a ten.

    One of the best sonic games in recent times with a new open world and some abutted that help you traverse the terrain with a new combat system to spice it up a little a game with a few errors but more of a 10/10 than a 9/10

    The music is on a whole new level, and nothing I can say about it will ever do it justice. Go listen to the OST.

    The idea and vision of the game is absolutely fabulous. In practice, however, the game is brought down by its execution, which you can see through after a short while and then the game has nothing to surprise you with. [Issue#324]

    There is nothing remotely redeeming about this game. Nothing that even the most die-hard loyal Sonic Fans would or should advocate for. I hope that one day someone who cares enough about this franchise could give us something-anything of substance. A fan can hope, can’t they? A fan can hope.

    Finally, after almost 25years of half measures and mostly mediocre titles, Sonic has finally reached the 3D levels of gameplay it needed to reach. Yes, the pop in is absolutely inexcusable and the ancient gatekeeping grindy methods damage the flow of the game for no reason, but a wonderfully built base exists here, with a highly entertaining adventure in wonderfully melancholic world and a surprisingly well founded story, thankfully clean of Sonic’s annoying 3rd tier friends!
