    This game is AMAZING, my favorite Sonic game, heck my favorite GAME in general, I love the level design of the open world, so much to do, the controls are responsive and fell good to play, the history is beautiful and I legit cried, and the boss battles, OMG, the boss battles are some of the best boos battles you can find in a video game, they are so hype and fun and cool to watch andThis game is AMAZING, my favorite Sonic game, heck my favorite GAME in general, I love the level design of the open world, so much to do, the controls are responsive and fell good to play, the history is beautiful and I legit cried, and the boss battles, OMG, the boss battles are some of the best boos battles you can find in a video game, they are so hype and fun and cool to watch and kick their asses I really love this game and recommend to anyone who want to have a great time… Expand

    i love this game but it has a couple flaws some of the enemies you fight are jank as hell and also they could have done WAY MORE with the story then what they did but the bosses and the soundtrack is AMAZING and even though i said the story needed some tweeks its a step up from Sonic forces and they fixed up some characters wich is was nice solid 8/10

    Overall I had a great time with Sonic Frontiers. While the story could have ended on a much stronger note it was the gameplay that really sold the experience. It really feels like Sonic the Hedgehog is finally having his true comeback moment. From mostly great gameplay designs to pushing the boundaries of character expectations, and doing it all with an amazing soundtrack Sonic FrontiersOverall I had a great time with Sonic Frontiers. While the story could have ended on a much stronger note it was the gameplay that really sold the experience. It really feels like Sonic the Hedgehog is finally having his true comeback moment. From mostly great gameplay designs to pushing the boundaries of character expectations, and doing it all with an amazing soundtrack Sonic Frontiers is easily one of the best Sonic games in a long time. We'll have to wait and see if Sonic Frontiers gets additional support and DLC content but either way I'll be looking forward to the blue blur's next adventure.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Empezamos con la zona abierta. Para ser el primer juego de este estilo en sonic esta genial. Literalmente siempre hay algo q hacer, este juego es de todo menos vacío ya q o tienes q conseguir fragmentos, encontrar los ciberespacio, luchar vs los guardianes y además q es muy libre y te da la oportunidad de romper el juego y no en sentido malo. Por ejemplo: quieres llegar a un fragmento en una plataforma con la ayuda del spin dash + momentum y salir volando? Es posible. Para desbloquear el mapa, hay q resolver puzles para q te den una parte del mapa, que haber, es mejor que sea simple, rapido y divertidos los puzles que un dolor de cabeza. Pasas de corriendo como un hamster hasta jugar tetris XD. Seguidamente vamos con el cibergazpacho. NO es el eje principal del juego pero aún así es un potencial desperdiciado, la mayoría son calcos de genereation y como excusa te ponen " son los recuerdos de sonic" vale q sean recuerdos pero no me pongas un nivel entero de otro juego. Además que aquí se nota q el boost no es igual de rápido y fluido q en la zona abierta. Aquí sonic hace el boost y madre mía, no hay cosa más rígida en este juego ( Otra nota: ahora con el spin dash + si haces la carrera ciberespacial te Dan el boost en el cibergazpacho como cuando en la zona abierta tienes todos los rings te Da más velocidad hace q sea mucho más rápido y más frenéticos los niveles, q como digo están bien pero no es bueno poner un cacho de otro juego ). La cosa es q hace falta materiales para entrar a los cibergazpachos ( que estos te Dan las llaves para las chaos emerald ), entonces ¿ con q se consiguen ? Luchando vs los guardianes. Antes explicaré esto: Aqui te dán un arco de habilidades q es simple pero funciona, puedes hacer una variedad de combos que la verdad están genial y es muy frenético. Ahora sí, vs los bosses: estos tienen una propia música cada uno y cada mecánica es única, si, puede que haiga un parecido como con fortrres y squid pero vamos, mentiría si la música no hace que sientas emoción y epicidad. Si bien todo estaba genial no había nada que te volará a otro mundo pero los combates vs los titanes SON LOS MEJORES DE LA SAGA SONIC. Primero tienes que escalar a lo shadow of the colosus al titan y cojer la ultima emerald, q esta bien echo, y luego vas a enfrentarte al titan y EN SERIO, no sabes lo épico que es que haga multiplicación de subnormales a lo naruto, suelte combos y puñetazos espirituales a lo dragón Ball y que hasta C0JA UNA ESPADA A LO FINAL FANTASY. Y la música solo hace que esta sensación de pela sea aún MEJOR. Hablando de la música, es como siempre, bellísima. El rock tirando pa metal pesao en los titanes, la orquesta y último, el tegno. Todos obras de arte. Luego, esta la pesca con big y haber, si eres un enfermo mental que se tira 40 horas para jugar llega un punto en que te quieres matar y esto es una salvación. Los materiales son limitados pero aún así es bastante relajante y sencillo. Para pescar tienes que conseguir unas monedas púrpura que se farmean en la lluvia de estrellas. Por último la historia, d lo que empieza por un salva a los amigos luego es un drama entre sage y eggman + evolución de personajes en todos los personajes y dando el posible origen de las chaos emerald . Estos simplemente aprenden que sonic no es su centro y tiene que seguir pa lante. Amy quiere dar todo su amor y ayudar a todos aunque eso significa alejarse de Sonic ( como esto se ve en los cómics de sonic the hegtog con el mismo autor que es Ian flin), knuck aprende que nunca estará solo y puede seguir su vida y tails deja de ser un inútil y aprende que tiene que dejar de ser cobarde y dejará a sonic por un tiempo para mejorarse a sí mismo. Hasta ahora todo pinta bien verdad? Pues bien , el problema es la última isla. El juego pega un bajonazo increíble y parece una expansión de kronos porque encima tiene la misma ambientación q haber, la estructura y algunas misiones son diferentes pero en otros parecen una expansión. El final boss es el ejemplo perfecto de como NO terminar un juego, aquí no cojemos la última chaos enerald escalando como los anteriores, aquí eggman nos da la última porque se suponía que nos iba a ayudar a encontrar las chaos emerald y al final solo encontró una. Luego el boss SUPREM parece un calco de giganto, pero, ese no era el jefe final, el verdadero final boss es the end, una luna negra que maipulo a sonic para liberarse de su sello y poder destruir su mundo, sage y sonic lucharán codo con codo para derrotar a the end siendo la pele más épica de toda la historia de ES UN MINIJUEGO DE NAVES. En serio? Osea me tienes soltando combos y luego piu piu? Esta bien, la música es tope guay y los diagolos son interesantes pero vamos, es una gran decepción. Si hubieran echo un boss q de verdad sientas q puedes perder si te descuidadas y aproveche todo lo q has aprendido peleando vs los guardianes y bosses de cada isla seria genial… Expand

    Il mio voto è un 8 momentamente. Il gameplay è molto bello ho platinato. Esorto Sega e Il Sonic Team a più patch correttive. Al momento le aggiunte della Jukebox e della modalità foto è un ottima aggiunta per arricchire Sonic Frontiers. Ma la modalità delle boss fight a tempo non è riuscita come si deve un notevole calo di framerate. Mentre la modalità Cyberspazio è ben riuscita. Chiedo alIl mio voto è un 8 momentamente.     Comunque oggi ritengo che abbiano aggiunto un bel DLC sul secondo update per ora è 8 questa è la terza recensione. Mi è piaciuto le aggiunte del secondo update rispetto al primo. Poi arriverà una quarta e ultima recensione. Spero che aggiungano tanti DLC Estetici sulla mappa di gioco e nuovo abbigliamento per Sonic.     Sonic Frontiers is fun - sue me. But is it polished? No. Just like my shoes. But man… running through the open world is super fun! The story is really good! The characters are back to the way they’ve been before; just like my shoes!

    Vou tentar resumir toda a minha experiência de Sonic Frontiers em poucas frases. Esse jogo é literalmente TUDO O QUE EU SEMPRE QUIS, ele é extremamente divertido, a trilha sonora é maravilhosa, e o jogo tem muitas inovações para a série Sonic. A gameplay do jogo tem seus altos e baixos (mais para altos agora com o update 2), mas é bem tranquilo aprender a jogar. A física do jogo ainda é beeem quebradinho, mas na realidade ela mais ajuda do que atrapalha, o combate do jogo é muito divertido, e intuitivo (melhor do que o unleashed que o combate do werehog era beem chatinho). E o mapa aberto do jogo é muito bom, ele também tem seus altos e baixos, mas é super divertido pegar os itens do mapa ou apenas ficar correndo por aí. A história do jogo é boa, introduzindo a Sage a "filha" do Doutor Robotnik/Eggman, e fora que a história concerta a lore dos jogos do Sonic e explica algumas coisas da série.
    Conclusão: vale muito apena para os fãs do Sonic, ele é o melhor jogo 3d dessa franquia (e fora que com os updates ele está ficando melhor ainda). Mas para os novos fãs de Sonic/ possíveis novos fãs, eu não recomendo tanto assim, eu pessoalmente indico jogar primeiro o Sonic Generations e o Sonic Mania. Mas depois de você aprender pelo menos um pouco sobre como funciona Sonic, eu super recomendo esse jogo.    … Expand

    Sonic Frontiers is a really good game that anyone can enjoy. The controls are so smoth and exploring this new open zone is so satisfying that you can't stop playing just like in BOTW
    This game is definitely one of my favorite Sonic games Good job SEGA!

    A great Sonic game and definitely a step in the right direction for the franchise. Sonic feels fast and fun to control. A good story with a bit of substance to it, giving a a good bit of depth to Sonic and friends. The game does have a couple issues but it is a good starting point for the franchise, which I hope will be improved upon with the next game in the series.

    After spending months waiting and avoiding spoilers, I can finally give my opinion on the game; for the things I liked, I felt the main gameplay loop was fun, the boss fights (excluding the final boss) were some of the most fun I've had in the series, and the presentation and story is pretty good.

    For some negatives, the draw distance for objects is pretty bad, often not appearing    After spending months waiting and avoiding spoilers, I can finally give my opinion on the game; for the things I liked, I felt the main gameplay loop was fun, the boss fights (excluding the final boss) were some of the most fun I've had in the series, and the presentation and story is pretty good.

    For some negatives, the draw distance for objects is pretty bad, often not appearing unless you get up close and personal, the final boss just plain sucks, and the game can force you into 2D sections with no way to exit without completion.     Really aesthetically pleasing game. The islands all look really nice, the open zone gameplay can be quite long, but is relaxing. Sonic's updated/new moveset is real cool and gives him more variety in what he can do other than his homing attack and spin dash.
    The music is on a whole new level, and nothing I can say about it will ever do it justice. Go listen to the OST.

    Yes, graphically there are problems but for the press when it's Nintendo with its Pokemon Arceus N64 or Zelda BOTW PS VITA, we say nothing.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am very pleasantly surprised by Sonic Forntiers. After Forces and the gameplay trailers I already assumed the worst, but no! Sonic is great to control and the graphics are okay.
    In terms of gameplay, it is similar to the parts before, you have different levels that you can choose, here again with different ranks (S, A, B, C) The open worlds are fun to explore and also the combat system is well implemented and allows good combinations. The story was rather unexciting, but the interactions with the characters captured their charm and personalities well.
    What is best about the game though are the boss fights and music. Never before has the gameplay of Super Sonic been so good. It feels great to fly towards the enemy and then knock them down with a combo. What makes it even better is the game's soundtrack, which is fabulous as always, especially the songs from the boss fights.
    In general, it is a must title for every Sonic fan, you can only hope that Sega hears the fans this time and the next title is just as good if not better!    … Expand

    Words can not describe how great this game is. I feel like Sega and Sonic Team made lackluster games for years to make us hate the franchise, only to pull off this Masterpiece of a game. Any critic who gave this game anything less than a 9/90, is smoking something.

    I'm so happy that the future of Sonic The Hedgehog is looking bright. After this game, I was in shock from how good this game was, especially after... Forces. The game is just the right difficulty for both types of gamers and I loved the game. (The soundtrack is so good!) I love this game so much but not enough for a ten.

The maps are really nice-looking, but the rendering could use some work. The combat is visually amazing, but very basic in terms of the button inputs (which isn't a factually bad thing). The enemies are a mixed bag, since some are pushovers and others are straight up annoying as heck to fend off. The side stories are nice but they don't contribute that much to the overall story or progression.

    The fishing minigame is broken; it basically gives you whatever you want for cheap prizes, if that's a agood or a bad thing depends on who you ask. The puzzles scattered through the islands are fun, but that's basically most of the gameplay, and eventually it will become repetitive.

    Overall the best things about this game are the soundtrack and the boss fights, and the worst thing about this game are the cyberspace levels, since your mobility and control over Sonic are amazing in the overworld but they feel off in 2D levels focused on speed.

    As I said before, if you've known Sonic and have been following his games for the past decade, this game is a gem; however, if you don't know as much about this universe then it will most likely leave you with mixed feelings. I have to give it an 8 purely because I'm a Sonic fan, but it's understandable if you disagree, I'm just giving my honest opinion.    … Expand

Especially the later island 4 was an example of great platforming design and change of pace mid game. Soundtrack was great (check the play count on Spotify for proof) and the dlc added also nostalgic background music.     The time of bad Sonic games is over

    After a long time, finally a good Sonic game again. It has really laid the foundation on which the Sonic Team will hopefully continue to build on. But unfortunately nothing is perfect, so the game also has some negative points to which I also come right away.     Contra:

    - The 5 islands thing is **** The 4th one is basically a cutscene island and the 5th one is Kronos 2.0.
    - The Cyberspace levels almost all have reused level designs from old Sonic games and they also only use 4 different themes for the graphics. Would have liked a bit more variety there.
    - The cyberspace physics feel mega weird.
    - The pop ins are really strong in some places.
    - The random objects flying around everywhere look really ugly
    - The small side story cutscenes are really a bit lame - mostly Sonic, the Kocos and one of the 4 characters you can collect memory tokens for just stand around and talk without showing much emotion.
    - The final boss fight was really a bit disappointing. I mean, space shooter, really?

    Pros:

    - The soundtrack is really really good and really a masterpiece.
    - The graphics are really cool. So this game really shows what the Hedgehog Engine 2 is capable of.
    - The main story is really wonderful. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Hope Ian Flynn stays with us as the main story writer.
    - The controls feel really good and it's a lot of fun to just run through the world.
    - There is enough to do in the worlds that it doesn't get boring.
    - A longer game time than what we were used to since 2010. 15-20 hours for new players instead of the usual 2-3 hours.
    - The Super Sonic boss fights were really great, especially their soundtrack.
    - The game will still be updated in 2023 where among other things a new story mode will be delivered.

    All in all, I was very excited about the game. Although I had little expectation and hope, I was completely surprised that the Sonic team seems to still have it.    … Expand

    However, while it has more redeeming qualities, this game is not without flaw. The secret true final boss, THE END, is a very disappointing one, and throws the unique Titan bossfights out the window. the momentum in this game is also pretty wonky.

    The open zones are big and empty, the entire thing feels lonely. The rest of the game is absolutely great though. The missions are fun, and you really have to earn a perfect score.

    The first Sonic I've played from start to finish, and it was quite a treat. Fun, gameplay is easy-to-learn, some challenging puzzles, and original soundtrack is out of this world (one of the best video game soundtracks I've heard). The story is also a compelling and emotional one - was pleasant surprised at the relationship between two characters.

The combat is surprisingly fun, and I found leveling Sonic up to be very satisfying. The puzzles, while simple, are a great way to progress through the worlds and unlock more of the map. They're basically just Mario Party minigames. My only real complaint with the game is that the cyberspace levels can be a bit tedious at points, but even then, I loved going for new high scores and collecting all of the vault keys. But the highlight of the game for me is the music and the insane boss battles! "Undefeatable, "Break Through It All", and "Find Your Flame" are some of the best pieces of Sonic music in the entire series, the latter of which is currently ranked as my favorite song from the Sonic franchise. Seriously, "Find Your Flame" is on the same level as the Metal Gear Rising OST. Lastly, the story actually had me intrigued. I loved learning about the Coco species and Sage is one of the best debut characters for the franchise in a long time. Overall, I'm excited to see where Sonic's future is heading!… Expand

    The new concept of open area is great for Sonic, and the story returns to the origins of the Adventure era, something that was sorely missed in the saga. The cyberspace levels at the end become addictive to get the S rank and all the extras. From here, I have a lot of hope for the next games to come and this Frontiers does not disappoint.

Along the way you solve charming puzzles,Sonic Frontiers is hands down my new favorite game in the franchise. A lot of bold risks were taken with this entry and each and every one of them paid off. Throughout the adventure you're given four large open maps to explore, slide on rails, bounce around, collect rings and each one offers its own level of fun and excitement to see new things. Along the way you solve charming puzzles, play really fun levels like Sonic does best, meet friends old and new, and even find spots to fish. This game is so immersive you can really have fun going just about anywhere or doing anything, turn your brain off and enjoy the peaceful music, run around and have a good time, and always still be doing something productive while just taking it easy.

    That's not to say the game lacks intensity. For the first time in the franchise history there's a combat system that's actually a lot of fun and feels super rewarding to play, complimented by a skill tree and a growth system that always help you feel like you're getting better. Regular enemy encounters are already a delight, but the boss fights really bring a big excitement to an already thrilling game. The soundtrack for every battle feels like listening to something from Linkin Park or other rock bands of the era, always pumping you up and making you excited for each battle, and matching the incredible music with amazing visuals both from the bosses and Sonic himself. Music has always been one of the best parts of Sonic games and Frontiers doesn't shy away from keeping tradition. Much like the gameplay and visuals, the music is also at it's finest. Also the story is delightful and introduces a wonderful new character, while also flushing out the side characters better than any game in the franchise had before.

    While the levels are a lot of fun, I do wish the team had taken a few more creative liberties with the stage designs and gone with some new ideas instead of reusing Green Hills or the old Factory, and the final boss fight does drop the ball a bit by being only a quick time event on Normal Mode, and a mini-game on Hard Mode. These however are only minor complaints to an otherwise amazing experience that any Sonic fan old or new should go on. It's been over a decade since a Sonic game has really connected with me, and Frontiers did so much more than that. I can confidently recommend this game to anyone; it's new, it's different, it's exciting, it's fun, and it's just better. Better than any Sonic game that came before, and my new favorite.    … Expand

The music, the gameplay, and the story all make for an awesome and interesting experience. My only real complaint is I think the true final boss “The End” could’ve been a bit better given the awesome Super Sonic boss fights throughout the game, but what we got is still pretty good.     Ah Sonic Frontiers. The next mainline sonic game for 5 years, and I can tell, it was worth the wait. This game is quite frankly, phenomenal as Sonic's first full open world game and they delivered well. There is so much to do in the open zone such as, challenges, platform challenges to get collectables and mostly fun enemies and bosses. There is an issue with pop in that should beAh Sonic Frontiers. The next mainline sonic game for 5 years, and I can tell, it was worth the wait. This game is quite frankly, phenomenal as Sonic's first full open world game and they delivered well. There is so much to do in the open zone such as, challenges, platform challenges to get collectables and mostly fun enemies and bosses. There is an issue with pop in that should be addressed, however, it doesn't take away from the experience. Sonic also controls really well in the open zone as well, better than the rubbish, slippery controls of sonic forces, the last mainline sonic game.
    the story in this game is more serious and has a more sombre, calmer and darker tone, which is a huge breath of fresh air from the childish, light-hearted stories we've had since Sonic colours. It is great and the best since Sonic unleashed.
    Then there's cyberspace, which can be accessed through portals scattered around the Starfall islands. These levels are great fun and have 4 objectives for each one of them which ads some replicability to the game. However, there are a few small issues with them such as, sonic being very slow even while boosting, (though there is a reason for it) and the fact that there are only 4 level themes. (greenhill, chemical plant, sky sanctuary and a city setting). they really should have added at least 3-4 more themes to occupy the 30 cyberspace levels and not reused greenhill and chemical plant (as they have come back way too many times and it is now tiering to see them again). there are plenty of other old themes they could have given us, such as, Kingdom Valley (sonic 2006), Icecap zone (Sonic 3&k), The aquarium park (Sonic colours) and jungle joyride (sonic unleashed). hopefully, in the future, Sonic team will give us more cyberspace levels with new, different themes, as dlc.
    Overll though these issues don't make this game any less good. The soundtrack is also absolutely fire!
    Sonic is back and it great. welcome to the next era of sonic. or rather, as it is looking like it, the second dark era of sonic. This game is not as good as Sonic unleashed (because that game really is the best in my opinion), but it's still a gem, and I hugely recommend people give it a go.    … Expand

    Man where do I Start man. I had so much fun playing this game never knew running around with sonic was so much fun. The super sonic boss fights are the highlights of the game.

    Aside from the "moon thing", its an absolute classic. Truly a 10/10 in my eyes because it stands out on the market today. Every game nowadays is a shooter or something, so it's nice to play a 3D platformer that is tangibly unique and creative. I love this game.

    Era da ben 11 anni che non ho avuto la possibilità di giocare un gioco di Sonic che mi divertisse tanto , la storia è ai livelli degli Adventure quindi non mi soffermerò a dirvi quanto sia fatta bene con un misto di momenti felici, nostalgici, referente al passato e momenti strappa lacrime .
    Per il gameplay è tutto abbastanza fluido se non pochissimi frame di lag ma moooolto trascurabili ,    Era da ben 11 anni che non ho avuto la possibilità di giocare un gioco di Sonic che mi divertisse tanto , la storia è ai livelli degli Adventure quindi non mi soffermerò a dirvi quanto sia fatta bene con un misto di momenti felici, nostalgici, referente al passato e momenti strappa lacrime .
    Per il gameplay è tutto abbastanza fluido se non pochissimi frame di lag ma moooolto trascurabili , l'esplorazione è stupenda e non annoia e dà un che di rilassante nello sfrecciare ovunque per raccogliere il necessario per progredire o per farsi un giretto tra le isole , il cyber spazio meh di poteva fare di meglio dato che i livelli erano abbastanza corti e non velocissimi ma sono comunque ok .
    I boss (solo titani) tutti divertenti l ultimo un po' deludente ma comunque bello da affrontare e si redime in ciò che viene dopo.
    Consigliato a tutti i fan di Sonic di vecchia data e nuovi non butterete i soldi giocandolo    … Expand

    Best 3D Sonic game ever. It's so much more varied and enjoyable than previous 3D Sonic games. Really fun speedy game and there's never a dull moment, and there hasn't been a platformer like this. Music and visuals are beautiful as well. It's a good basis for future Sonic games and if the next game is PS5 and Xbox Series only, it could be something truly special.

    Sonic Frontiers is a very fun experience on PS5, PS5 is the best way to play it hands down because of No Denuvo or Bad Performance. Frontiers delivers a very fun experience in the open world sections but the Cyberspace stages are very poorly designed

    Overall a fun game, Is jank but still,fun but the last two islands were a let down and cyber space is ass cheeks. The titans were PEAK and i wish you could re-play them overall
    8/10 Great First attempt at something that can be even better

    The idea and vision of the game is absolutely fabulous. In practice, however, the game is brought down by its execution, which you can see through after a short while and then the game has nothing to surprise you with. [Issue#324]

    There is nothing remotely redeeming about this game. Nothing that even the most die-hard loyal Sonic Fans would or should advocate for. I hope that one day someone who cares enough about this franchise could give us something-anything of substance. A fan can hope, can’t they? A fan can hope.

    Finally, after almost 25years of half measures and mostly mediocre titles, Sonic has finally reached the 3D levels of gameplay it needed to reach. Yes, the pop in is absolutely inexcusable and the ancient gatekeeping grindy methods damage the flow of the game for no reason, but a wonderfully built base exists here, with a highly entertaining adventure in wonderfully melancholic world and a surprisingly well founded story, thankfully clean of Sonic’s annoying 3rd tier friends!
