Its a decent game, nice characters and great world design. I feel like they should have taken more advantage of the PS5's controller. Overall it seems more like a PS4 title and I don't see the next gen benefits really.

The presentation is brilliant, the music is sublime, the voice acting is good and the control is just OK.
The thing that knocked most of those points off is the obsession with auto-scrolling levels in this game!

So, what could have been an absolute classic is a instead a very missable experience :(

The game is ok, the only problem is that, unless you've got another controller and somebody to play de coop levels, you wont be able to get te amount of orbs required to access te last stage. This is simply ridiculous.

It an ok little platform game. I think the new camera angle is good. It not in the same leuge as Mario 3D or any mario, but about as good as the new Yoshi game.

Da mal was mit moderner Technik als Triple A wäre schon bombastisch.

This game "borrows" (steals) A LOT from the more recent Yoshi games in terms of gameplay, crafted look, level design, collectibles etc., but it can never quite reach the heights and polished gameplay of those games, let alone of a game like Super Mario 3D World. The controls feel too imprecise, Sackboy is super-sluggish (I was constantly wishing for a sprint button), the moveset is really limited, your jumps are INCREDIBLY short and combat is annoying because your reach seems to be about 2 millimeters, which, combined with very weird hitboxes and enemies that don't always stick to their familiar patterns, make it way too easy to get hit. Should that happen too often and you die, respawning takes about half an eternity. Also, adding up stuff at the end of the level takes WAY too long and the fact that you can't just skip taking a dumbass photo for every completed level is just ridiculous.

On the plus side, the presentation is very good: The game looks amazing and the music is more than serviceable, if a little forgettable.

So yeah, I'd recommend this mostly to kids/parents. Or if you're really into 3D platformers, you might want to get this on sale, but don't exactly expect a masterpiece on par with the likes of Mario. All in all, Astro's Playroom is the better game and that comes for free with every PS5, soooo...

I agree with most people when they say the game is a sleeper hit. It is a surprisingly good platformer and has a good amount of challenge to it. There are also no checkpoints through it, which demands near perfection just to complete it, let alone gold medaling it. I will admit, though, getting gold on it does leave you satisfied.
My biggest complaint is definitely related to online play. A friend and I played the whole campaign at it was a total nightmare. Teleporting, glitching, random deaths, etc., were constant. Both of us have 60Mb internet and play together frequently. I do suspect, however, it may be due to crossplay (I was on PS5, they were on PS4). My other complaint has to do with the currency that you buy outfits and emotes with. After completing the game 100% (gold completion on every level, challenge and trial) and even going through most levels an extra time with my friend as host, I was far short of being able to purchase every one of these items. This leads to roughly 8+ hours of tedious farming, as there is no good way to build this currency after the game.
In short... The game is generally fantastic and is truly fun to play, especially in single player. The issues the game has could easily be fixed with patches and if fixed, I could easily give the game an 8.5 or 9.

(**SIDE NOTE... The game does not properly save the non host's high score, making you have to get the high score again**)

    PROS:
-Lots of Little Big Planet charm
-A general good balance of challenge
-Licensed music themed levels are well engineered (audibly, visually and creatively)
    -Runs smooth and looks fantastic

    CONS:
    -Glitchy co-op play
-Tedious currency accumulation at the end
-High score does not transfer correctly when not hosting co-op
    -Disappointing final challenge

    I played it's previous games
They were fun but none of em were as complete as this one is
Its so damn cool to see this stuff in these gen but it is so simple for adults, the puzzle are easy to solve and the gameplay will bore you after 3 hrz

A fun time with a friend. While it doesn't elicit the same adventurous tone that the original Little Big Planet games do, it's still a fun time.

If you want to 100% the game, you also need to play coop levels where you need a local friend who likes plattforming games or have to buy PSN, very unnecessary in my opinion. I also couln't see any differences between the PS5 and PS4 version that is 10€ cheaper. Expand

    inizieranno elencandoti i punti fatti

Sackboy is not groundbreaking in any way, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s a wonderful platformer that looks great, sounds excellent, and offers superb co-op. It is pure, varied fun and deserves much more recognition than it received overshadowed by Spider-Man: Miles Morales and some other big releases. [01/2021, p.38]

Sackboy A Big Adventure goes out if its way to be a Nintendo-like platformer, and almost gets it right if not for a few small but costly mistakes. It's still a very good game, but could have even been better if the developers focused more on their own ideas.

A brilliantly accessible and clever platformer with a top-notch soundtrack. This is a must-have title for any PlayStation owner who likes platformers.
