I was hype to finally get a full 100% platform game from molecule with great character design.
What I found old mechanics Poor movement when you jump you can feel some lag trying to do more that one thing is really tedious.

They tried to copy hard really hard yoshi kirby and mario with no succes.
Trying to complete stagesforced because you didn’t get the right path is boring
Very repetitive stages mechanics and enemies.
Some me habics are not explained at all or hint or anything making it frustrating because they force you tonstart the level again once you get what to do.
A super boring game and is getting really hard to me to keep playing it.
    I’m very disappointed.

I write this to warn people to not waste money on this. The game is just bad in so many ways:

    1. Sluggish unresponsive input. 2 Glitchy collision detection. 3. Some of the worst level design ive seen in a 3d platformer. 4. The camera angle sucks and it's very hard to know where you will land etc (99% of deaths will be because of this alone). 4. Some really annying bugs. If you

If you don't care about collectibles and the like, this game can be completed in a few hours because all levels are super easy unless you care about finding costume pieces or getting a gold medal which is completely pointless unless you care about achievements. It's perfectly possible to complete the whole game without dying once.

The only hard levels are some of the Knitted Knight Trials. Some of those levels have the worst level design I've ever seen in a platforming game. Most of them feel like something a 5 year old could throw together in an hour and I would feel ashamed had I designed those. If they decide to do a sequel, they really need to fire the level designers and hire som better ones who knows what the heck they are doing...

The thing that really pisses me off and really makes this game deserve a 0 is that they have gated 10 levels as multiplayer only, meaning I have no way whatsoever of playing them. The multiplayer was designed by someone incompetent who've never played online before. The only option you have is to create or join a game, in which case you're just dropped into the middle of some random game. There is no way to match make for a specific level, so if there is a specific level you need to complete... well good luck. The multiplayer mode needs to be redesigned from scratch. I didnt pay $70 to be locked out from a large chunk of the content. I would re-fund if I could.

Really not a fan of Sackboy: A Big Adventure.

Was extremely excited with the announcement of Sackboy: A Big Adventure, I absolutely loved the Little Big Planet games and wished for a Little Big Planet 4 for many years. I mistakenly thought Sackboy: A Big Adventure was just a renaming of the franchise, but after watching some trailers realized there would be some differences.

However, Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a different game entirely, and if Sackboy wasn't featured you'd be forgiven in thinking this game bore no relation.
Gone is Stephen Fry's narration, 2.5D view, scrolling text, creativity and silliness. Here is a mostly -3D 'puzzle' game, that now has voiced characters (Sackboy is now voiced by a child at least when falling) a more childish presentation (fairytale-like rather than narrated and silly), very simplistically designed levels and controls (I'd go as far to say this could be a mobile-game, and more aggressive enemies now over the less threatening enemies of little big planet.

I really can't figure out who Sackboy: A Big Adventure is designed for, it's too childish for adults to particularly enjoy and too challenging for children to enjoy. Too uneventful and dull to be played for the story, and too story-orientated to ignore the story and just focus on trying to solve puzzles.
Therefore I wouldn't know who to recommend this game to.
As previously mentioned to me this game would be at home as a mobile-game you just press jump for 99% of the time, some of the levels barely use the 3d space, with some special moves for certain levels which would work well as dynamic on-screen buttons. Additionally, the mobile-phone price range of ad-free or $5- $10 would suit this game far more than the $70 it retailed at!

If you want a puzzle platformer for the PS5 that is child friendly but challenging, I'd pick Astro's Playroom a million times over this.

The game is a little bit fun but the immense amount of bugs and glitches make the game unplayable in some areas the game is so easy I'm waiting for a good update that fix all the problems

Imagine making a platformer with so much lag hidden walls and jump platforms that don't work. Unplayble garbage what a joke

Doesn't deserve more than 5, no signs of intelligence in the QA team that tested this (lots of gameplay bugs, even after patches) and the development team is made out of a bunch of child torturing sadists.

Ok, first of all, I'm not a blind hater. I really wanted to like this game as it is another entry in the LittleBigPlanet series, which happens to be one of my favourites videogame franchises. However, I am sad to note that this is one of the most boring and mentally tiring games I have ever had the displeasure of playing.

However, I am sad to note that this is one of the most boring and mentally tiring games I have ever had the displeasure of playing.

First of all, the pacing of the game is terrible. Sackboy moves at the speed of an average garden snail and a lot of the time platforming feels like you've only just barely made the jump across gaps. The LittleBigPlanet franchise was always a slow experience in where the player was encouraged to collect 'prize bubbles', which gave them items to be used around the game. The game has now turned this style into a painful experience with it's janky controls and slooooooooow gameplay.

Secondly, the level design and aesthetics is also really poor. I remember in the first LBP game every level had a unique quirk to it and they were very interesting to look at. In this game all of the levels seem to blend into one. None of them particularly stick out, and look comparatively bland. If you asked me to name any single level from this game. I couldn't. That is how lacking in variety they are.

To be fair, I didn't I wasn't expecting this game to be a masterpiece BUT I was expecting to gain some sort of satisfaction out of it, having waited 6 years for a new LBP game. There is some fun to be had here, but only if you manually speed through the game at a reasonable pace and get the required amount of orbs to progress (don't even bother torturing yourself to get 100%), or mess about with a few mates.

Seeing all the positive reviews is absolutely maddening. This is why the games industry is getting worse; half-heartedly produced games like these are eaten up by smooth-brains and casuals who praise it despite having barely grasped the concept of critical thinking. I have no idea what demographic this game is supposed to be targeted towards; It's too hard for children, but tonally the game is too childish for adults.

Look, just go play either LBP1 or 2 on PS3, they're infinitely better than this snooze fest. I hate sumo digital so much, and hope Media Molecule come back to developing the series in order to save it. Phew, rant over, time to move on and play better games.

This is the worst game currently on PS5 and a real hiccup in the franchise. A few people better have lost their jobs over the execution of the game. Guys I letterly bought the game for my little brother , when he was amazed from the intro everything was fine , until the gameplay first 10min and he gave up. And I forced my self to continue it , and guss what he has the right to leave the game , because you don't have the fun it's lifeless

Level and boss design are also extremely pedestrian, the game doesn't do enough with the good ideas it has and way too much with the bad ones (auto-scrollers have never been fun,) and don't even get me started on gatekeeping content behind multiplayer, that garbage was unacceptable when Dead Space 3 did it a decade ago and time has not sweetened the premise.

In short, there is no reason to play this when much better options exist, but there are also worse games out there.

In my opinion this is the worst game in the LBP/sackboy series due to the weird/inconsistent/broken camera angles and aspect ratios.
The game seems obsessed with having the camera at a weird angle where you cannot see what is happening properly - the jump perspective ends up being completely off and this just makes the game unnecessarily frustrating.

I've had so many glitches with jump just not working, getting caught on invisible edges and falling off ground which I appear to be on.
Some of the levels where the animations match the music go slightly out of sync and this makes the buttons feel laggy.
Lots of the game feels slow and bloated - moving between levels, end screen taking photos etc.

Sackboy is not groundbreaking in any way, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s a wonderful platformer that looks great, sounds excellent, and offers superb co-op. It is pure, varied fun and deserves much more recognition than it received overshadowed by Spider-Man: Miles Morales and some other big releases. [01/2021, p.38]

Sackboy A Big Adventure goes out if its way to be a Nintendo-like platformer, and almost gets it right if not for a few small but costly mistakes. It's still a very good game, but could have even been better if the developers focused more on their own ideas.

A brilliantly accessible and clever platformer with a top-notch soundtrack. This is a must-have title for any PlayStation owner who likes platformers.
