Jul 22, 2023I have no idea why this game is getting review bombed on Metacritic, but it’s another example on why we need to disable user scores from this website. People are simply leaving bad scores without reason and they can’t even prove that they ever played the game.

Jul 31, 2023It took what's good about the first game and built on it.
+ Variety of classes and each class feel different
+ Exploring is amazing
+ The upgrades tree offers the best roguelite elements with permanent upgrades
- Weird difficulty spike
- One-try puzzles - Resolve system doesn't allow alot of built experimenting

PLAYSep 17, 2023Everything you’d want from a Rogue Legacy sequel, and more, this dramatically enriches and expands its genre-defining blueprint to the point of near perfection. [Issue#30, p.99]

Jul 9, 2023Rogue Legacy 2 enhances all aspects of the first game and delivers a vast amount of content that provides many hours of quality entertainment. Every journey is unique and well balanced. Although failure is recurrent along the way, the game gradually provides small upgrades that will allow even the most casual players to succeed in the end.

Jul 6, 2023The core hook of dying and restarting while progressing just a bit further each time is as solid in Rogue Legacy 2 as it was in the original game. I’d be hard pressed to point out significant differences between the two games, outside of a spruced up presentation and just more content in general, but honestly there wasn’t much to improve on with the original Rogue Legacy, so I can’t really fault the sequel for not deviating too far from the original formula. It’s still a wildly addictive game, and the short bursts of gameplay make it perfect for a few quick rounds, or lengthier play sessions.
