    Rift Apart is a complete blast from start to finish. Video games took a long step forward this past year, and this game was a big part of it. With some of the most fun gameplay in years and a surprisingly thoughtful campaign, Ratchet and Clank continues its success as one of the greatest video game series of all time.

    I feel like this game is a true next gen experience and as a long time ratchet and clank fan it really is a good game for the series. I do miss some of that edginess the original games have but in these times everything is so upside down that the fact this game is as good as it is a huge win for Sony and longtime ratchet and clank fans!!!!     This game is exactly the reason why I love gaming so much.
    I had the most fun experience with it throughout the whole game.
    The visuals are superb, the story is adorable and heart warming.
    The level design is beyond amazing,
    Everything single thing about this game is truly next gen.
    I cannot praise this game enough, just do yourself a favor and try it yourself.
    Definitely a must play

    Its a beautifull game that let you smile all the way. Fun for everyone . Set the difficulty 1 higher then default and you have a good challenge. Insomniac are amazing , released spiderman 2018 , milea morales 2020 with a spidermam remaster , and now ratchet and clank. All in the pendemic without crunch. Chapeu. If i have 1 negative thing to say is the lenght. Its not that short , butIts a beautifull game that let you smile all the way. Fun for everyone .     I went into this game not fully knowing what to expect. I'm not really big on jump n' run games. But something about Rift Apart just intrigued me.

But that usually doesn't mean that I would go out of my way and spend 80€ on a genre I'm not really fond of, just to experience something new. The things that caught my    I went into this game not fully knowing what to expect. I'm not really big on jump n' run games. But something about Rift Apart just intrigued me.

    I mean I was desperate for a new fresh single-player experience. But that usually doesn't mean that I would go out of my way and spend 80€ on a genre I'm not really fond of, just to experience something new.

    The things that caught my interest right of the bat when I saw the Reveal and the State of Play, was the interesting usage of the Playstation 5's SSD capabilities and the gorgeous graphics.

    I still wasn*t sure if it was worth taking the risk to spend 80€ on a game that I usually would avoid.

    But in the end, I did... And what can I say except... wow.

    This game is an absolute masterpiece from a technical standpoint.

    Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart does not only look absolutely gorgeous but it also has that incredible polish to it that you would expect from a first-party sony and insomniac game.

    The overall gameplay and the combat is pretty much flawless. The combat is fluid. It offers a lot of variety in movement and action. The movement rewards quick response time and decision-making which is definitely needed at times when you play on the highest difficulty.

    I didn't expect the game to be this much of a challenge. It isn't comparable to other games that are known for their harder difficulties but that isn't what this game is about and I personally really enjoyed the difficulty balancing.

    I haven't even come around to test all of the weapons. So there is enough variety to keep it fresh throughout the playthrough.

    The graphics are definitely one of the key selling points. The game not only looks and sounds stunning but it also feels like it. The world-building in most of the planets was simply breathtaking.

    Insomniac once again brought their A-Game and managed to bring out a 60FPS mode that also includes Ray-Tracing without sacrificing much of the visual quality except resolution.

    I never played a Ratchet and Clank game before so I wasn't at all familiar with any of the characters. But man.. You just immediately love all of them. Each of the characters is just filled with charm and love.

    Creating a game where you play as 2 characters can often be very divisive. But in Rift Apart's case, it worked beautifully. Rivet is such a fun and likable character. I might have enjoyed playing her more than Ratchet. But both are just awesome. Dr.Nefarious and Pierre are some stand-out side characters to me.

    Story-wise the game achieved what it tried to achieve. It's not a deep immersive character study with bolt and realistic themes. Those kinds of themes are what I usually look for when I pick out singleplayer games. I still very much enjoyed the story even though it is the polar opposite of what I usually play.

    The game is pretty much a flawless experience. The only thing I might have wished for is a tiny bit more enemy variety since they did kind of became a little repetitive throughout the story (especially the bosses).

    I'm all for quality over quantity obviously. I would rather play this than another Assasin's Creed that goes on for 100 hours with bland repetitive gameplay. That being said I still would have wished for at least a few more story hours. The games quality 100% deserves it's full 80€ price tag. But a 10-hour story campaign is definitely a bit short for that price.    … Expand

I've heard some people say this game is too short but tbh, I didn't feel as if that was the case at all. While there may only technically be 9 planets, they have a lot to explore, unlike the previous titles.     Loved every minute of it!!! This definitely makes up for the lack luster of the 2016 game. Love the gameplay, loved the mechanics, loved the story!!! Can't wait to see what they have in store next for the 2 duo's. I hope they finally explore the Lombax society.

    Today i got my Platinum trophy, and i think i will start a second run soon.
    Graphics are very nice and smooth, raytracing is also very well (played the Performance RT Mode)

    Probably one of the best titles of PS5. Jaw dropping graphics, amazing characters, fun gameplay and fully utilized haptic feedback. Last quarter of the game is so intense, I noticed frame rate drops (once or twice) which is totally acceptable after such a detailed combat experience. Like all Insomniac titles (Marvel Spider-man and Miles Morales), this one is a must-have!

Сюжет, как всегда, сводится к спасению всего мира, злодеем в очередной раз выступает Нифариус(ы), короче, забывается через пару дней :) Головоломки за Кланка несложные. Арена тоже нетрудная, все три лиги пройдены быстро, испытаний немного и они не очень оригинальные. Финальный босс откровенно разочаровал, на среднем уровне практически не доставил проблем, просто поливаешь его огнем со всех орудий и всё, босс из игры 2016 был интересней и сложнее.
    В общем, самый что ни на есть обычнейший Ретчет, без каких либо откровений. 8/10 только за то, что неиспортили, и на том спасибо.    … Expand

    A very solid game, with good gameplay, great graphics (first game I played on PS5) and a decent story (good for kids, that's the purpose of the game). There was a huge evolution in the gameplay from 2016 game to this one, which made this game much better than the 2016 game. What makes it good is also the fact that there is a lot happening on the screen at the same time, taking advantage ofA very solid game, with good gameplay, great graphics (first game I played on PS5) and a decent story (good for kids, that's the purpose of the game). There was a huge evolution in the gameplay from 2016 game to this one, which made this game much better than the 2016 game. What makes it good is also the fact that there is a lot happening on the screen at the same time, taking advantage of the PS5 and utilizes DualSense's haptative triggers and vibration which greatly improves the immersion of the game.… Expand

    First game I played on my brand-new PS5 last year and what can I say: I had a blast!!! So much fun to play with the integration of haptic feedback, so great to look at, such a nice addition of charming new characters! Just loved everything about the game!!!

A thrilling entry into the Ratchet and Clank universe that does a great job in delivering huge moments and great non-stop action.

    Let's say it right off the bat, this game does not reinvent the wheel, nor was it supposed to. the R/C series has had a tried and true formula, that does not need to change very much. It has very tight and fun gunplay, a great variety of weapons, good comic relief, and some exploration as well. The game itself is about 10-12 hours long, with a challenge mode unlocked (new game plus) after you beat the story.

    Visually this game is stunning. After playing it in fidelity mode and performance mode, I came away very impressed with just how smooth this game plays. Personally, I do not believe that this game needs 60 FPS as I really could not tell the difference between the two modes when it came to how smooth it looked. So I played with the best graphics I could, and they were incredible. The amount of things going on in this game at one time, and for there to be no framerate drops ever is worth the price of admission. It delivers on the next Gen graphics and next-Gen speed. My PS5 can be turned off and I can be playing this game with 20 secs of turning it on, less than 10 if in rest mode. No loading and no lags. I will say that I did experience a few bugs, the most common was the game not closing the menu on the guns after I previewed weapons, but I am sure that will be patched up.

    I do not have a lot to say negatively about game, however, I was disappointed with the way the new character (Rivet) is used. I understand that they wanted you to feel like you were using Ratchet, his name is on the game, but I feel like they missed an opportunity to put some new mechanics in the game, give her some guns that are unique to her, give her her own puzzles to solve. Overall she is fun like you would expect, I just feel like they missed a great way to refresh some things in the game world.

    I earned my Platinum trophy this morning, and still want to get back into this world and play some more. In the grand scheme of things that it was it should be about, do you want to keep playing this game? The answer to that is a resounding YES! 9/10 See you in the next dimension!    … Expand

    Amazing game 9/10. just great gameplay, great story, and great level building. but it gets a 10/10 because of the mind blowing visuals and the mind blowing rifting between dimensions. Visuals and rifting didnt hit me at first although I thought rifting was still impressive but later on they hit me hard and it was crazy to see

    I Played every Ratchet and Clank and this one is truly remarkable. It feels really nextgen with its rifts. It also is a really cool continuation of the future series (tools of destruction and a crack in time), so the best ones in the whole franchise.

    Thank you Insomniac for staying true to what makes this game great. This is a classic Ratchet and Clank game with some nice additions and super crisp graphics. Love the pace, fighting mechanics and story. One of the first things you will notice compared to previous generations is the absence of loading times. Voice acting is superb and most importantly this game is fun!

However like every R&C game my only criticism is that there's juet not enough of it (e.g. i wish the arena here had more levels and modes to play through, much like the arena of R&C3).     This game is just soooo much fun. That is what it is all about and it nails it perfectly. Completed the story last night and now going for 100%. It is a great game after a long day to sit back and just enjoy gaming! Alot of games now adays miss this but Ratchet and Rivet, I mean Ratchet and Clank....knocks it out of the galaxy.

    I went in expecting terrific graphics, I got that. There were times where the graphics legitimately stunned me. The fact that the game constantly looks as stellar as does with absolutely no hitches in terms of framerate? It's kind of nuts. The gameplay is fun, constantly involving, and almost always captivating. I expected all of this from Ratchet & Clank and Insomniac. I was worried about the replayability. A shorter game, but it has all the replayability you can ask for. It's deceptively dense and the worlds are filled with places to explore. The NG+ introduces new weapons - two of the best in the game - and adds Omega variants to all 18 weapons you can collect in your first playthrough. These change gameplay enough that your weapons feel different, and it also opens up much more upgrade possibility with said weapons.

    I love this game and would trust Insomniac with my life at this point. Mfs don't miss.    … Expand

    Very fun game! Impressive graphics, likable characters, and addicting gameplay! Although the story is relatively short, there are varying difficulties, side missions, and numerous collectibles which offer great replayability. Would definitely recommend this game!

Но геймплейно они не придумали новых интересных оружий. Да остались очень крутые с первой части. Но новые все какие-то неинтересные. Сидеть остался на уровне пиксаровского    Ratchet & Clank

    Сидеть остался на уровне пиксаровского мультика не скатываясь полностью в детскость, но и не беря планку вау эффектов.

    В итоге игра стала лучше первой части. Но это всё ещё 8 баллов. Так же как и первая часть. Чисто из-за того что делает олед и то какая тут сочная графика и анимации я бы поставил 10 баллов.     У первой части приятная графика на 9, уникальный геймплей на 9 баллов, хороший сюжет на 8 баллов, но очень щамороченная система бек трекинга для сбора спрятанных предметов и очень много лишнего метроида за что 7. Итого первая часть 8.25. то есть вторая часть лучше на 0.08 баллов суммарно как для человека который играет в сиквел и на 0.75 была лучше, если играешь впервые.     Rift Apart is a great video game of the Ratchet & Clank saga, among the 3 best games of this, frenetic, fun. It takes the best and captures it here, although, it feels like it lacks more madness in terms of history, but insomniac games played it safe and gave us a very good video game to start PS5

Sí es verdad que una vez tienes tus combos de armas en combate, y que te funcionan, es muy difícil salir de ahí, y quizás los combates ya se vuelven algo monótonos porque los enemigos suelen ser siempre similares, sin contar la arena esta de retos, que aporta un poco de frescura al tener que obligarte a hacer ciertas mecánicas.
    Lo plataformero podría haber sido más difícil o tener un reto mayor en las brechas de conseguir partes de armadura, por ejemplo, ninguna supuso mucha dificultad.
    En cuanto a la dificultad un poco más de lo mismo, quizás es demasiado fácil la estándar quizás le tuve que poner un puntito más de dificultad para que supusiera un reto mayor y no solo un paseo por cada mapa.

    · Cosas buenas: visualmente es una gozada, la relación aventura acción es redonda, el gran diseño y variedad de armas. El uso del Dualsense y se nota el salto generacional. Cómo no, Rivet.
    · Cosas malas: los niveles con Clank y Glitch no son tan divers, la historia es simplona de más, el plataformeo podría haber sido más difícil, y algunos bosses se repiten de más.

    This game is absolutely sensational. The combat and story of this game are great and normally those are the things I care about most in a game but the graphics and teleportation in this game are so good that they engaged me into the game more than the story or combat.

    I also feel that they did a very good job with Rivet, you feel that she has always been part of the story and she is as lovable character as Ratchet and Clank (they're also a nice trio team!) without even feeling that Ratchet is a minor character because of Rivet...both of them had the same treatment and love as well as our "toster" Clank xD. I hope everyone had a good time with the game even with its changes :D also i think 9.2 / 10 is worth even Game of the year!

    Not gonna lie, after playing the 2016 reboot of the series, I was a bit unsure if I wanted to play Rift Apart because I didn't enjoy playing that game at all.
    To my surprise, however, I can safely say Rift Apart is genuinely a fun game to play; in fact, I had a blast, like, I enjoyed it much more than I expected.

    To my surprise, however, I can safely say Rift Apart is genuinely a fun game to play; in fact, I had a blast, like, I enjoyed it much more than I expected.
    The gameplay has a lot of similarities to the older games and it can feel somewhat mindless when you're facing a wave of trash mobs, but it's not only refined in every single way possible; the haptic feedback made everything so much better, making the game all the more enjoyable to play.
    The weapon variety is impressive once again, not surprising.
    The story, while not exactly good or anything like that, is still enjoyable to play through, and the characters are pretty good.
    The best part of the game though, is without a single doubt in my mind, the visuals; they're just incredible! The game truly looks and feels exactly how a next-generation game should, running at stable 60 FPS, no loading times, no technical issues, ray tracing and haptic feedback technology, gorgeous graphics... you just can't ask for more.
    Also, most of the set-pieces are fantastic as well.
    The game is definitely not perfect though, for example, the enemy and boss variety is seriously lacking, unfortunately.
    The puzzles are all repetitive and they slow down the pacing most of the time.
    Lastly, not exactly a serious flaw, more of a personal gripe, but I thought the humor felt a bit... immature and childlike for the most part; it was hit or miss.

    It’s very fun with a lot of weapons that are fun to use, especially with haptics. Great story with memorable and charming characters, the photo mode is one of my favorite things to do because the visuals are AMAZING. This is a showpiece of what the PS5 could do.

    Never played a ratchet and clank til the 2016 one like a month before this came out. Thought it was alright. Thought it was good enough to eye this one and was starved for new PS5 games. I was stunned. Story was fun and exciting, visuals were amazing. Gameplay was great. It’s a true set piece for what the PS5 could do. Thoroughly enjoyed my time with it.

As far as some criticisms: the game feels pretty linear, the game is relatively short, it has a lot of minor glitches, and it’s incredibly easy (I recommend starting off on a higher difficulty). I think it’s biggest downfall is that once you beat it and platinum it, there’s very little reason to ever return to it. But the experience is absolutely a memorable one, the game ended and I had a big smile on my face.… Expand

First of all, as it happened before with Returnal and Spider-Man Miles Morales, loading times are a thing of a past; you can take full control of Ratchet (or Rivet) from the Playstation 5 home screen in less than 12 seconds, and while in game there is a rapid transition between planets that takes only 6 to 10 seconds.
    Second (and most important), is the ability to travel between different “dimensions” and worlds within a level with no loading times at all, which offers the user a very immersive and exciting experience, specially at pursues and fast paced levels.

    The game also takes advantage from the PS5 Dualsense haptic feedback: the player can feel almost all vibrations like steps and, of course, the shooting of the various weapons at disposition.
    Shooting works excellent as did with Returnal; the player is able to choose between 2 modes for each weapon depending on how soft or hard pushes the R2 trigger. For example, there’s a gun that activates a shield while pressing softly R2, and then turns into a powerfull blaster pressing R2 fully.

    Let’s talk about graphics now. I’ve been playing the ps5 since launch and I must say that Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart is the best looking game so far. Not only cutscenes looks beautiful but also gameplay is extremely good looking. Player can choose between 3 different graphic modes: Fidelity mode at 4K and 30fps; this is the worst mode you can choose, since the game feels clanky and bad at 30fps. There’s also Performance mode and Performance mode RT which runs at 60fps to the cost of less resolution (actually the difference in resolution is almost imperceptible, so I’d advice to play either at Performance or RT performance mode).    … Expand

    This game felt like a true next gen game. There was perfect balance of gameplay including side axtivities, main story, combat. Nothing felt over exagarrated or boring. It was all the right amount to make you never put the controller down. I bought it at full price and it was totally worth it. Crazy part being that it was my first ever ratchet and clank game !!!

    Wow. Insomniac might be one of my favorite developers right now. Between the Spider-Man games AND R&C, they have a pristine resume. This game is so close to perfect I’m still fighting internally about bumping the 9 to a 10. As someone who isn’t well traveled in the R&C series, I felt right at home the entire game! It’s hard to do that with a series as old as R&C, making it inviting toWow. Insomniac might be one of my favorite developers right now. Between the Spider-Man games AND R&C, they have a pristine resume. This game is so close to perfect I’m still fighting internally about bumping the 9 to a 10. As someone who isn’t well traveled in the R&C series, I felt right at home the entire game! It’s hard to do that with a series as old as R&C, making it inviting to newcomers and old fans. I only have 2 complaints that hold it back from a 10 (both of which are easily fixable with a later patch) Occasionally Ratchet or Rivet would momentarily get stuck in the geometry of the environments when using the rocket boots, not gamebreaking at all but it would halt my pace randomly & leave me confused for a few seconds as to why I stopped in a wide open field. The other issue is during the Clank sections, it didn’t happen at every Clank level but in half of them I ran into a weird graphical glitch, it’s a little hard to describe but the entire background would get these black “scratch” looking things that would flash VERY quickly & hurt my eyes. It would be all over the environment too. The only way to get through it was to either physically walk Clank into them so they’d disappear (they’d reappear if you got far enough away) or try to complete the section with them giving me a headache. Did anyone else run into this?? Aside from those minor flaws, the rest of the game is so incredibly polished that I was actually stunned most of the time I was playing. Last time I experienced something so meticulously crafted with love like this was both of The Last Of Us games. The attention to detail is just.. immaculate. Every environment is gorgeous, all of the characters are charming and heartwarming, the story is extremely engaging till the end & has so much heart & genuine stakes. Dr. Nefarious remains as entertaining as ever & EMPEROR Nefarious is just as intriguing & is one of the best villains I’ve seen in a while, he’s actually intimidating! His accent & demeanor are badass too. The Dualsense feedback is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced playing a game, Rift Apart is THE new standard everyone else has to catch up to. One of the best games I’ve ever played hands down. If you’re fortunate enough to get a PS5, play this game. You will never regret it. I really hope Ratchet & Clank doesn’t take as much time off as they did with the PS4 era, because I’m BEGGING to see more.… Expand

    Insomniac have done it again! They have crafted another amazing adventure in the franchise! The game is funny and the combat is really enjoyable! I love it so much that I am already replaying it. If you have or are waiting to get a ps5, get this game immediately I can highly recommend it. One of my top favourite Ratchet & Clank games.

    Maybe the best Ratchet yet, feels amazing, looks amazing, a great diverse of characters, monumental discoveries that willhave hug eimpact for the franchise going forward. The dimensional shifts wer eused very well in my opinion, setpieces amazing, animatiosn asburd. If you own a PS5 YOU HAVE TO BUY THIS GAME.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Or the more appropriate name here: Rivet & Clank/Kit.

    This game is the Blade Trinity of the Ratchet & Clank series and feels even to a degree like MGS2 did with its character swap. The game is presented as a Ratchet & Clank game yet is anything but. The opening cutscene reveals the new playable character Rivet and out of the 9 planets that are available in the game, Ratchet has 4. The final boss is beaten by Rivet and all of the major story and character development is all about Rivet. Ratchet & Clank take a backseat to what looks like a setup for a main character change in the series (nothing wrong with that if that is the intention).

    Ratchet & Rivet have zero gameplay differences, share weapon levels and gadgets. Rivet has the entire arena all to herself and Ratchet is not even playable.

    Besides what appears like obvious pandering to a new audience, the game is a visual masterpiece. I didn't personally touch the 4k 30fps mode as previous Ratchet & Clanks feel extremely off at 30fps however at 60fps the game flowed and felt like the perfectly refined Rivet & Clank/Kit game that it is.

    The seamless transition from planet to planet is amazing, the load times are non existent, the guns are mostly enjoyable and fun (why are there so many throwable bomb type weapons?) and the only true disappointment is the RYNO. The planet environments look beautiful and are fun if not reasonably linear experiences with VERY easy to find collectibles which is a strange change and almost all of them can be completed 100% on the first visit, without needing any gadgets.

    As for replayability? Well Insomniac dropped the ball with the trophies this time around. There's no requirement for all gold bolts, no requirement for all weapons upgraded and no requirement for challenge mode either. It's probably the simplest platinum in the entire series with little to no effort and an easy mode that literally makes you invincible.
    In saying that, there is challenge mode and omega weapons, but it's up to the player if they want to pursue these things without any trophy rewards. I personally went for all gold bolts and armours out of habit in these games but have no interest in challenge mode.

    What would be cool is if Insomniac did straight up release "Rivet & Kit" and had an entire game featuring Rivet as the sole playable character and made an effort to differentiate her from Ratchet giving her skills/weapons/gadgets that are unique to her. It would also allow for a reimagining of past Ratchet & Clank villains and planets

    However we all know that the next game will be a co-op game where both are playable and there is still zero difference between them.

    One of the first real reasons to buy PS5. This intergalactic adventure of famous series is full of great gameplay, inventive game design, gripping story, and great characters. It's a game for everyone who owns PS5. Actually, it’s a game for everyone.

    What’s so good about this installment of Ratchet and Clank is that it is a true labor of love. There is no other way a game can feel so good, play so well, and take you on an impressive adventure all without that special ingredient to keep it going. The definition of a next-gen title, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a must-play that will leave you super satisfied and hungry for another big game like this one.

    The experience is so captivating, you’ll probably want to blast through the entire 10-15 hour story in one go. But the final is really disappointing: basically, the entire game is just a warm-up, while the important events will happen in the next one. [Issue#254, p.36]
