    Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is just phenomenal. It has great and likable characters, fun and satisfying gameplay, great level design and gripping soundtrack. There are some minor problems like invisible walls in places you wouldn’t expect, but overall it is an absolutely fantastic game that you don’t want to miss!

    Really enjoyed the game. Im a big fan since childhood, and this takes me back in. Some of the ps3 games were not that good, and the ps4 game was really bad, but this one really is a master piece. I dont give a 10 because i miss Ratchet personality being more edgy.

It played surprisingly well on fidelity mode too which I thought would be unplayable. Story is alright, and just like everyone expected the humor doesn’t hit like it did back in the ps2 days. Seems to almost be an incomplete games at times which I think is just an insomniac thing at this point. Make it just good enough to be considered a great game even though there are some things that could’ve been polished up. Firstly is the platforming, somehow that took a step back, jumping up on various things can almost feel janky at times. There’s also big sections that are defined on the game map that look like they should be secret areas. Instead they are empty and sometimes provide no way to return which can result in having to restart at a checkpoint. This can be seen i think the most on sargasso. Also they still do the thing where if you stray too far outside the world map you just instantly die. I hate that, these are cool alien worlds. Have a monster come out and gobble you up like in older games. It’s just a weird thing that never needed to be changed, I’m guessing it’s just one more thing to animate and they figured people wouldn’t care. Like I mentioned before exploration can be a little unrewarding at times. Also a weird thing I found is the animations can be way off from the actual hit boxes when out exploring areas, not combat I mean like boulders where you start clipping through while trying to climb it, stuff like that. That’s just straight up laziness. This isn’t a very long game, I don’t see why they couldn’t have polished that stuff up, kinda disappointing for a game that’s supposed to be the next big thing and change everything. Anyways still a solid 8 just because I had such a fun time playing it. Definitely recommend it if you have a ps5.… Expand

    Absolutely loved the game. Insomniac's games have sometimes been a bit hit or miss for me but Rift Apart is fantastic in almost every way. Excellent characters with a good storyline and gameplay.

    The only slight miss were those puzzle levels with Clank. I get that they wanted to break up the gameplay a bit but I wasn't feeling it.

    You will be surprised many times in this game. The second part is literally twice as exciting and entertaining as the first part. Unlike the first part, side missions were designed to be enjoyable and attractive.

    Incredible game, for me until now best ps exclusive on ps5. Great graphics clearly made for next gen and not cross gen, great story interesting even for folks that never played ratchet, great gaming mechanics, rewarding weapons build up and collectibles… Really well worth playing and great start for ps5 exclusives.

This game has the perfect level of difficulty on the hardest level. I actually ended up getting all of the collectables in this game and that's something I rarely do. The level design is also absolutely fantastic.

    The gameplay is the same Ratchet and Clank I played on PS4. Harkening back to the days before twin sticks, this is not so much a shooter as a beat’em’up with guns. The weapons have a nice fun factor. Though none of the weapons seem as crazy as the old Sheepinator, I have a lot more of this game to play. The gameplay does not feel as good as a shooter, but then again, no shooter has the fun world traversal of this kind of game. The games story is your basic map traversal, destroying all enemies, and triggering a cut scene. This kind of game was never my thing back in the PS1 and PS2 generations. I was all about shooters and strategy games on PC and Xbox. There is no nostalgia button for me here. I see the limits on gameplay as a limit on how much fun I can have. I have no issue with the humor in this game. I would like to see more of it. I also have no issue with all ages wholesomeness. I could fill this game with more cute animal aliens. I see this game as a launch window title to tide over players until the big games like Horizon and God of War release. For a PS+ Extra subscriber, this is a nice surprise.

    Finally a true PS5 games and it show. The games is not a revolution but make the genre look better then ever. If your a fan of this franchise this games is a must. Story line is longer then previous game of the franchise and dual sense is well used. Worth buying it full price

    First AAA game I've played in years that I've really enjoyed, even played new game+ which I also haven't done in a long time. Beautiful game. Gameplay is extremely smooth. Could have used more side quests but I love the ones that exist, quality over quantity imo. One other complaint is I wished when weapons upgraded they behaved more differently, I personally didn't notice much of aFirst AAA game I've played in years that I've really enjoyed, even played new game+ which I also haven't done in a long time. Beautiful game. Gameplay is extremely smooth. Could have used more side quests but I love the ones that exist, quality over quantity imo.     As an long time Ratchet and Clank fan this is one the best entries in the series. The visuals and action scenes are truly spectacular. By far the best gameplay the series has ever seen. The only negative thing I have with the game is I wish it was longer!

    Hoping Insomniac continues to make great entries into this beloved series.

    After the fantastic remake of the original game, we finally get a new game after 5 years. It's biggest problem is that it's PS5 exclusive. You can't get it on PS4. Even the writing seems more like the original PS2 games, although not by too much. But it's also still welcoming. Overall a great game and highly recommended for all PS5 Owners. It's worth buying a PS5 for this. And it is even worth robbing PS5 scalpers if it means you can play this game! If nothing else, it is a very welcoming improvement for the series.… Expand

    Very good game, my only criticism is it was a little on the short side, even to achieve the platinum trophy only took around 20 hours ish, but don’t get me wrong it was a fantastic game and my kids absolutely loved it, would have easily gave it a 10/10 if it was a little longer, but decided to give it a 9

    Ratchet and clank Rift apart is absolutely an amazing game. The stunning visual and the super fun game play make RC RA is a must buy video game. Rivet the new character is charming and i would love to play her new standalone game. The story is quite weak but still an enjoyable one insomniac did an amazing job on this one highly recommend if you have a PS5.

    Ratchet and clank rift apart is another excellent game by insomniac. the variety of weapons and environments is really good and it's graphics and lightning is so incredible that it looks like a pixar movie. however I enjoyed ratchet and clank 2016's story more and sometimes rift apart enemies and it's gameplay feels repetitive and the game is too short

    Very fun to play. Story is very funny. Gameplay is very smooth and it is in fact a nice showcase for most of new PS5 features. Storyline is very short though, I finished it in four days. But this is a game that you would like to play over and over in non story mode.

    Simply amazing, the show case of the PS5 in time/space travel shows how much gaming have come along and how tech wonders started kicking in even for consoles. From gameplay to story, character to nartive and upgrade sytsem, weapons its alltogether a very enjoyable game. one of the best R&Cs without a doubt.

    This is truly a next gen, from the graphics to the no loading between levels and switching between maps while playing. The only little nitpick is for me is some action you need to do are sometimes not very clear and a indicator that an enemy is behind me would have been nice, but this is just nitpicking. Thnx Insomniac for making very good games

    Overall, very solid game with great graphics that showcase what the PS5 can do.

    Cons: a bit short for $70 game (~18 hrs if you do everything) with not a lot of reply value. Accessibility for all ages make the game a bit too easy (even on hardest setting) and lacking in depth.

    The support characters lack a bit of personality that they’d have had in previous games, but otherwise this is an absolutely fantastic addition to the series.

    This has some creative ideas visually, and is stunning in many places. The combat is refined and very fun. You’re missing out if you don’t pick this up.

    Nunca había jugado a un Ratchet y no podía haber cogido mejor título. Qué maravilla. El doblaje al castellano es maravilloso, los gráficos son como ver una película de animación renderizada en tiempo real, a nivel de jugabilidad puedes hacer de todo es un constante frenetismo, muchas opciones de armas, muchos escenarios, el juego es muy dinámico y te sorprende constantemente. La historiaNunca había jugado a un Ratchet y no podía haber cogido mejor título. Qué maravilla. El doblaje al castellano es maravilloso, los gráficos son como ver una película de animación renderizada en tiempo real, a nivel de jugabilidad puedes hacer de todo es un constante frenetismo, muchas opciones de armas, muchos escenarios, el juego es muy dinámico y te sorprende constantemente. La historia esta graciosa, es entretenida no disgusta. A mi me ha durado casi 10 horas (marca 9 la Playstation pero es un poco más porque sólo registra de hora en hora) y yo soy el típico que va directo en la historia y no se desvía, si exploras y te sales de la historia principal cuando se te dan las opciones el juego seguro se alarga. Mi nota muy merecida es un 10, pocos juegos son tan redondos en todos los apartados.… Expand

I got the 2016 reboot from the PS+ collection about a month ago to see if I enjoyed it, which I did. But this game, this game is something special. Demons Souls is the only other true PS5 game that I have played as of now, and I can say without a doubt that Rift Apart is the best lookingRatchet and Clank Rift Apart is only the second game from the entire franchise that I have ever played. I got the 2016 reboot from the PS+ collection about a month ago to see if I enjoyed it, which I did. But this game, this game is something special. It literally looks like a modern day Pixar film. And the way it plays is truly something that I believe every gamer needs to experience. The level design, verticality, and seemingly endless fun weapons all combine to create something new and fresh. The amount of times that I have stopped because I thought it was mid-cutscene just to realize that there was no cutscene is incredible. The only downside is that it isn't that long of a game, but I personally prefer quality over quantity. Also, if you truly explore the beautifully designed areas, look for collectibles, and do the optional side missions, this game can definitely take you well into the 25+ hours mark. There is also an NG+ mode for people looking for an even tougher challenge. As someone who never really dived deep into the Ratchet and Clank series, I can firmly say that this game is a true masterpiece that should be experienced by every gamer that owns a PS5.… Expand

    I'm 93% done with the game and I can say that this game is truly a gem that needs to be experienced firsthand on the PS5. This has by far been my most favorite platform genre of game on the PS5 and I would not hesitate recommending it to anyone else.

Locomotion feels really tight and quick, plus it's great always having the hoverboots. The graphics are 10 steps above any previous R&C game, making effective use of ray tracing tech. The characters are mostly charming as ever (didn't like nefarious in this one but judge it for yourself) and especially rivet and another new character (you will know who I mean once you meet her) are a absolutely brilliant. Hopefully they will become a main stable for the series from here on out. The gameplay was fun as ever even tho I mostly ended up missing some of my favorite weapons like the groovitron or the sgeepinator. The dimensional stuff shown in the gameplay fits very well into this platformer and gives this game way more depth during combat than the earlier titles. The ai is one of the best in the series. The story itself was amazing as well (even though a bit rushed at the end imo). All in all a very good game that I am happy I picked up. The wait was worth it. Cons: the game was way too easy to platinum. Even easier than the ps4 game. The game is almost a bit too short. I feel like 3 more worlds and a more fleshed out ending would have given this game the perfect length. There are still a lot of bugs in the game. Most are only grafical but I also encountered some bugs where I clipped through the floor. Finally the price is too high. In my country 80€ for amount of content ain't great. As memtioned earlier it felt like three was something missing. Like a more fleshed out ending. All in all a brilliant game. While a crack in time still remains as the best RnC game Rift apart manages to hold it's own next to it. The game is way more than just a tech demo for the ps5. At no point in this game do you ever feel like there are only 2 main characters, rather it's always 4 with the story wonderfully focusing on them all equally along the way. As you explore several planets and meet the people who live on them with a balance of space travel and supernatural, it's hard not to think of Star Wars or other space opera stories as each location is as delightful as the last. With witty dialogue, a lot of humor, and downright wholesome and emotional moments, the cast feels so wonderful to spend time with. With PS5 technology you can also feel this through all their facial expressions, which compliment the beautiful world and environments surrounding them, as well as the stunning animations. This game simply looks beautiful at every twist and turn.

    Gameplay wise is also another level of perfection as each weapon was made with intention by the developers to be "someone's favorite" which makes each one feel so good to use. Mix this in with super intense boss fights, lots of fun challenges, and the levels themselves being a rush to play, and you have a game that you never want to put down because you're having too much fun. The music also reflects this by always having the perfect ambiance in each level, battle, and making each cutscene more intense.

    There was no one part of Rift Apart that made this game perfection, because every piece of this game's foundation was perfect as they built it. Personally, my favorite part of this game was it's characters. Ratchet is still our hero, but Rivet gets this whole game to build her up as 'also' our hero. Emperor Nefarious is wonderful, and that's all I'll say about that to avoid spoilers. But the new characters were not the only reason the characters were my favorite; the overall character development and dialogue of this cast knocked the whole game out of the part. They have real struggles, real growth, and so many wholesome moments that are too adorable for words! This game is seriously a good feels game from beginning to end, even when things are going bad for our heroes, you always have a shining light. And usually, that light is the cast itself.

    I could go on for several more paragraphs on what a perfect game Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is, but in short: Amazing story, fun to play, intense from beginning to end, fantastic (and wholesome) characters both old and new, and both the continuation and beginning of a great world. Im trying to platinum it now.     The most buitiful game i ever played. It looks like pixar cartoon. The leight of the game is about 12-15 hours and i think its optimal for that genre. The price could be a little lower i think, but its a top game.

    This game really surprised me, that is the next generation I've been waiting for too long. Everything developers wanted to show is worth praising, after playing it, you realize what next games on PS 5 would be awaiting for us. The only one disadvantage is the size of a campaign. I definitely expected much longer story, but it didn't disappoint me at all.

    Insomniac Games is setting a new standard for quality within its own genre. This game is finished down to the last detail and looks, feels and plays as a AAA experience. Beautiful and well-designed worlds, each with their own look and feel, fluid combat that makes the weapons feel better than ever and well-written and designed characters that actually enrich the story. A future Ratchet and Clank without counterpart Rivet is already unimaginable.

    It's clear that the PS5's SSD comes into its own as you teleport through these worlds. Even though the game worlds are full of moving details and elements and you pull entire dimensions towards you, loading screens no longer occur and the gameplay is rock solid in 60fps with raytracing.

    The Dualsense has also been used extremely well by making almost every weapon feel and sound unique because of the adaptive triggers en build in speaker.

    It is rare but the only 'point of criticism' for me personally is the in-game flying mechanic. But if that's all, you can call this game pretty much perfect.

    Really nice opus and great work from Insomniac again. It does not get a higher score because my last opus was the PSP one, and well the mechanic didn't change. Nevertheless is remains a really nice game, on which they could have gone further (portal thing, less weapons but specific weaknesses on ennemies, a more specific gameplay for Rivet etc.).

    Геймплей не сильно изменился, даже оружие улучшается абсолютно так же.
    Имеем новую историю и новых персонажей. Хотя прохождение за Рэтчета и Кланка не отличается от прохождения за их альтр эго из параллельной вселенной, Ривет и Кит (KT-7461) от слова совсем. Даже вся прокачка и оружие у героев идентичная, качается один, прокачивается и другой.
    А в целом, как я писал выше, это те же щи, только ещё гуще. Героев стало больше, оружия то же. Картинка стала сочней, что не удивительно, паркур стал удобней.
    Ещё, мне больше понравился геймплей за Кланка/Кит, исчезли эти жопораздирающие забеги от монстров. Теперь это больше задачки на сообразительность.
    Так же в игре появился геймплей за некую виртуальную программку-паучка по имени Глючка.
    Ещё появились сеты различной брони, которые дают какие то небольшие бонусы одетому в неё персонажу, а так же меняющие его внешний вид. Мелочь, а приятно.
    Так вот, хоть игра не сильно прям отличается от предшественницы, в ней всего стало больше. И если вам понравилось играть в Ratchet & Clank в 2016 году, то понравится играть и в эту.
    Тем более, что игра лежит в PS Plus за подписку.

    An excellent game to introduce all ages to the ps5. The graphics are the best I’ve seen on the ps5 so far & the game play is good fun & enjoyable. The only minor issue is that it’s not very challenging but that can be taken as a positive too since suits younger & new players. This point still doesn’t take away from the enjoyment. Overall this is a must have for the ps5.

    An excellent Ratchet game, easily one of the best in years. Old school fans, like myself, will take problem with the extreme kid-centric nature of the game's writing. Many characters go through personal troubles in a very teenage-angst kind of "oh gosh oh gee I just don't know if I can do it" kind of way" which can, very often, outstay its welcome. The humour of the originals won't beAn excellent Ratchet game, easily one of the best in years. The humour of the originals won't be found in this but, the game is much more "quirky" than it is comedic. But the game exudes so much charm, endless detail and love for the franchise and the pastime of videogames itself that it can coast on that alone. Although I really do wish they would return to the dry wit of my childhood.

    The presentation is incredible, the gameplay is easily the best it's ever been and it made me excited for the genre of video games itself. It actually made me feel (a bit) like a kid game. Highly recommended.    … Expand

    Incredible game, that really gives you that back in the day feeling of playing a great game.

    Graphics 10/10
    Sound 10/10
    Story 10/10

    When game looks this good, you want to explore every nook and cranny and you want to see the story to the end. This is the closest you will get to playing a Saturday morning cartoon.

    This is the first true 9th generation game with best graphics and amazing space-shift feature, it’s a pity there are bugs (when 1st release)

    One of the first real reasons to buy PS5. This intergalactic adventure of famous series is full of great gameplay, inventive game design, gripping story, and great characters. It's a game for everyone who owns PS5. Actually, it’s a game for everyone.

    What’s so good about this installment of Ratchet and Clank is that it is a true labor of love. There is no other way a game can feel so good, play so well, and take you on an impressive adventure all without that special ingredient to keep it going. The definition of a next-gen title, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a must-play that will leave you super satisfied and hungry for another big game like this one.

    The experience is so captivating, you’ll probably want to blast through the entire 10-15 hour story in one go. But the final is really disappointing: basically, the entire game is just a warm-up, while the important events will happen in the next one. [Issue#254, p.36]
