Jul 28, 2023Oxenfree II is a very interesting game to be recommended for all those who enjoy graphic adventures focused on conversations.
-
Jul 13, 2023Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is everything fans could want from a sequel. Though it might not be flawlessly designed, it builds on what came before it and offers plenty of new and compelling stories as it ties up the loose plot threads from the first game. Fans of narrative and choice-driven experiences owe it to themselves to check this game out as soon as possible.

Jul 12, 2023Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is a great second season that makes the already beautiful Oxenfree feel like a pilot episode. An intense, exciting and playfully aware narrative adventure, capable of perfectly integrating gameplay with writing. Artistically remarkable, thematically profound, full of tense situations, where to make decisions and direct the fate of our protagonists, playing the part that seems most suitable to us, without the story ever lacking in coherence. If this is what Netflix wants to do with the video game, the future looks rosy for lovers of this genre (success permitting). Radio chills.
-
Jul 12, 2023Night School Studio delivers a sequel that surpasses even its excellent predecessor.
-
Jul 12, 2023Oxenfree II: Lost Signals not only honors its predecessor, but it also justifies its existence with a very well-developed narrative maturity. If the simple mechanics aren't appealing or even demanding for action fans, surely the well-written branching story can convince non-believers.
-
Jul 12, 2023For only being a four-hour-long game Oxenfree II: Lost Signals has a lot to say. A narrative that is more intricate than its predecessor, while still holding onto the framework that made Oxenfree stand out. Lost Signals makes you care about these people. The voice acting goes above and beyond to help drive that home. Like the first title, Lost Signals feels unique in the video game space. With a few minor hiccups, and one upsetting one, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is, without hesitation, worth a second and third playthrough.

Jul 12, 2023Oxenfree II: The Lost Signals was worth the wait. Not only is it a brilliant sequel in its own right, it’s a welcome reminder of the kind of story we can only experience in a video game. I have no clue what the future holds for Night School now that it’s owned by Netflix, but I can only hope the streaming giant is aware of the talent it now possesses.
-
Jul 11, 2023Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals feels like an evolution of its predecessor. It presents us with a new perspective of both Edward’s Island and Camena that both add to the overall mystery of the paranormal world they reside in but also keep to the series’ down-to-earth storytelling.
-
Sep 11, 2023Oxenfree II pays deep homage to its predecessor while creating a pretty and creepy game that old fans and new ones alike can enjoy.
-
Jul 25, 2023Oxenfree II is a sci-fi suspense narrative adventure with plenty of depth. Your choices determine the fate of all the characters, as well as multiple endings and other events. Despite excelling in the soundtrack and visual aspects, there is some inconsistency in frame rate and loading times — but that doesn't detract from the overall quality of the game in all other aspects.
-
Jul 12, 2023Oxenfree 2 is excellent entertainment whose magic lies mainly in its gripping writing, well-constructed characters, and absolutely brilliant sound work, voice acting and music included. If you liked the first part, no doubt you will love its sequel, which retains the same aura overall and only deepens a few aspects of its experience, capable of immersing you in its captivating universe from its first minutes.
-
Jul 12, 2023Oxenfree II: Lost Signals may not be the most ambitious sequel, but it is certainly a great one. The atmospheric Pacific North West setting, Its incredibly authentic conversation system, well written and wonderfully realised characters, combine for a memorable follow up, that will resonate with those who enjoyed the original Oxenfree.
-
Jul 12, 2023What impresses me the most about Lost Signals is how it takes everything Oxenfree did and dials it up, delivering a bigger story within a grander, still familiar, framework that keeps player choice at the centre of it all. Riley’s story is a brilliant footnote to the strange things that have returned to plague small town Oregon once more.
-
Jul 16, 2023The ever-present insecurity about the trials of an uncertain future make for some of the most affecting character building in the medium.
-
Jul 14, 2023OXENFREE II: Lost Signals shows that dialogue can carry a game even if it's light on gameplay so it's great if you want an immersive tale.
-
Jul 13, 2023If you are looking for a different adventure game and want to spend a couple of entertaining afternoons in the long summer heat, Oxenfree II is a great proposal that deserves to be appreciated as the great offer it is.
-
Jul 12, 2023It’s been a long time coming, but Oxenfree II: Lost Signals has landed with the sense of mystery and intrigue that made the original game such a hit. The use of walkie-talkies throughout is a great source of communication, and the chemistry between Riley and Jacob brings in a sense of homeliness that’s comforting, even when the paranormal forces encroach upon you, spiralling you into their otherworldly insanity. Like the first game, it’s short and you may find yourself getting lost at times, but this is a stunningly haunting sequel that deserves your attention.
-
Jul 12, 2023Oxenfree II: Lost Signals from Night School Studio is a worthy predecessor to the original. The sequel has a thick branching narrative gameplay mechanic that drives the story and gives you a reason to replay the game. The only big knock is that Riley’s story starts slow, which could put off some folks expecting immediate satisfaction with mystery and horror like the first delivered almost right out of the gate. Regardless of takeoff, the sequel is entertaining and something you should check out, especially if you enjoyed the first game.
-
Jul 12, 2023A thrillingly told mystery thriller with strong characters, difficult themes, beautiful graphics and fine sound, which is not exactly challenging in terms of gameplay, but tops the predecessor in almost every respect.
-
Jul 12, 2023There are so many expectations to live up to after delivering the first Oxenfree, but Oxenfree II charts its own course, delivering something unlike Night School Studio's previous games. It has sharper horror, more inventive storytelling, and a variety of systems to keep you engaged through hours of slow and somber small-town exploration.
-
Jul 12, 2023Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals is a beautifully told story that improves on the original. The structure is exciting and fosters intrigue in the multilayered narrative. Although Night School Studios does improve the gameplay, it fails to take advantage of these segments. Despite that, the wonderful art direction, intelligent narrative and relatable characters make this a memorable adventure.
-
Jul 12, 2023This, then, is the playable equivalent of curling up under a duvet and binge-watching a Netflix series. Fitting, really, considering that the monolithic streaming platform coughed up to publish this sequel. It certainly won’t be a game for everyone, but its punchily paced paranormal parable respects its players’ time, and by the existentialism of the end credits, it will certainly have you reflecting on how you want to spend yours.
-
Jul 27, 2023Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is a solid follow up. It doesn’t leave as big of an impact as the original, but the natural and seamless conversations do a wonderful job of immersing you in the supernatural tale. There isn’t much to do outside of walking and talking, but the relatable characters and engaging mystery are reason enough to book a trip to Camena Coast.
