Nov 26, 2024Axel McCoin must investigate a corpse plot while trying to remember his past in Neon Blood. Its style, halfway between Pixel Art and 3D rendered environments, offers us a gameplay proposal that reminds us visually of the 90's experiments and, in its structure, of the old Nintendo 8-bit games. An experience that works but leaves us halfway in many aspects.

Dec 16, 2024It’s disappointing to say that Neon Blood is dripping with unrealized potential. Clearly, the developers put effort into the impressive visuals and the quicktime events, but equal effort was not extended to the writing in a game that so heavily depends on its narrative. It’s not like there’s so much cyberpunk-style media that there isn’t room for more, so it’s too bad this one doesn’t come together. Maybe someday, someone will flesh out Neon Blood to make it as human as it is machine.

Dec 9, 2024Neon Blood, on its surface, is a stunning pixelated cyberpunk adventure that boasts an intriguing plot. However, players will unfortunately find that when they spend more time with the game it is riddled with clunky traversal, uninspiring combat and the lack of accessibility features. Though Neon Blood looks like it would be an exciting cyberpunk adventure, the issues make it visually gorgeous but not a super fun experience.

Nov 28, 2024Neon Blood will likely grab you from the outset thanks to its interesting premise and attractive visual style. Unfortunately, poor localisation, unrewarding combat and some other issues pull the whole experience down.
