    Fun, straightforward single-player adventure shooter. Emphasis on story and characters. Combat is simple but effective. At some point, it starts to feel like the game repeats itself, but overall it doesn't overstay its welcome. There are some minor bugs too, nothing game-breaking. Performance mode is disappointing so I ended up playing with quality mode as it looks considerably better.

    The gameplay is so super smooth and the actual game looks stunning.

    Theres such a wide variety of enemies and the game let's you tune the difficulty to suit your liking.

    The music is just absolutely amazing. Some amazing hits and classics. There's this thing called a huddle and after doing this correctly the classic hits start playing and it just makes you wish it never stopped. The story is very well made and progresses nicely with some moments being more emotional then others.

    Honestly this is a just buy for anyone who loves the Guardians of the galaxy but also people who just want to have fun.

    The start is a little slow but once it gets started it doesn't slow down the combat is very nice and diverse due to the team mechanics and honestly I never have gotten bored of fighting.

    10/10 I hope they make another one. Well done Square Enix.    … Expand

    I genuinely enjoyed the game. The humor was good, the writing and story was enjoyable, and overall, I had a good time. However, the gameplay was often a bit too simplistic more my liking. I would recommend this game to people looking for a fun, easy, game with a good story, but more hardcore gamers may feel a bit disappointed with it.

    Fantastic story, and fun game which merits an 8. The reasons for not giving 9 or 10 are combat is a bit clunky. I had a few graphical issues clipping and pop in. Upgrading was too easy I had about 2k components at the end and nothing to spend on as I'd already bought all perks.

    Guardians of the Galaxy has an excellent story with strong character development accompanied by a fantastic soundtrack. The narrative is moving and filled with a masterful blend of seriousness and humor. There are several laugh out loud moments and several tear jerker moments. The combat is fun and plays smoothly. Overall, this exceeded expectations and is one of the best new titles of 2021.

    Absolutely a great game and definitely true to the spirit of the movies. If your a guardians fan this game is most certainly for you!! The gameplay can be a little taxing at times but only because quills weapons seem underwhelming for most of the game. The story offsets that with no problem. It was a journey worth taking and a story worth hearing .

    Surprisingly good! I could nitpick this to death, but a straightforward, single-player story with combat that is fun enough to stay engaging is a nice find nowadays. This 80s kid rocked hard to every beat and was reminded exactly why I play video games.

    The best Marvel game to date by far. It is a very entertaining and fun game, the mechanics are wonderful and the story is up there with the best MCU movies. A great job, congratulations.

    A fun, lighthearted and warm title. The plot is more complex than it might seem at first. Very cool characters, very well acted, written and designed.
    Gameplay is a bit repetitive, but enjoyable. Overall, the game design, world building and concepts are stunning. The environment design in this game is amazing. One of the best contemporary sci-fi games. Recommended.

    Above and beyond expectations. Didn’t pick it up when I saw it wasn’t Chris Pratt. Thought it was a knockoff money grab. I was wrong! Great gameplay, story, sound, voice acting, visuals and everything. Couldn’t put it down once I started.

    This game is really good! The story is great and you just can't stop laughing at all the interactions the Guardians do all along the way. However, this game lacks of difficulty challenge and the gameplay can get a little boring cause of it's lack of depht. I hope we get a sequel with a better gameplay!

    So let's keep it simple: - Brilliant story. Twists and turns, logical progression, reasons behind actions, etc. It's an original story so some of the    I went in with at best "meh" expectations. I was completely and utterly sucked in after like at most 2 hours. I could easily write a 2000 words essay about how amazing they got everything, but few would be interested in that anyway.

    So let's keep it simple:

    - Brilliant story. Twists and turns, logical progression, reasons behind actions, etc. It's an original story so some of the Guardians have a bit different backgrounds, but it fits in very well. There are no disrespectful changes. I personally would have preferred one element to be different, but that doesn't mean that the story isn't spectacular.
    - AMAZING characters (both design and personality) and voice acting.
    - Superb graphics, animations and art direction.
    - Huge variety of environments, all of them awesome quality.
    - Splendid combat that integrates all Guardians into the fray majestically.
    - Very surprisingly, choices! You have some RPG elements thrown in there.
    - Collectables (outfits + gifts for your team which translate into conversations aboard the ship)
    - Ship combat, and it's highly enjoyable. You can also walk around your ship and speak with the Guardians.
    - BANTER! Excellent, remarkable, funny, character-appropriate banter. And LOTS of it too. FLARK YES!
    - Mature-oriented segments when it fits the narrative, without making it broody, moody or edgy. A perfect mix of humour and "real-talk".
    - A focus on each Guardian in particular. Groot is a bit sidelined but I guess there's not so much opportunity for character development there.Still, he plays an important role and I never considered him an afterthought.
    - Marvelous music.
    - It personally filled me with a childlike joy all the way through. Very immersive.
    - Sometimes it's BUGGY, but checkpoint reload solved it in 99% of cases. I only encountered one bug I would classify as major, but it was not game breaking. It involved a conversation with Drax about a gift I got him. Peter would just get stuck in place and nothing would proceed after the conversation. Nothing I did solved this. After reload, the bug would just happen at the beginning of the conversation. POTENTIAL FIX: only talk to Drax about it AFTER chapter 11. You can't do anything to solve this bug if you have that conversation before chapter 11, but it also doesn't affect anything else.

    I could go on and on but honestly, for this one, there's no point. I've been gaming for 20 years and this is EASILY a 10/10. If you love the Guardians, Marvel, action-adventure games, or any mix of those, just get this one.

    You'll thank yourself later as you're screeching with excitement and pure joy while you experience this game.

    I for one got this game on a pretty nice sale and I'm actually a bit sad I didn't give these developers more money.    … Expand

The interaction between the characters is extremely good and funny. Also the fake swearing was the dumbest **** ever.     After the Avangers game and Spider man: Miles Morales my expectations were... to say they were low would be a immense understatement. Since I am a big fan of the GOTG movies I still gave it a try. And I am really amazed. They absolutely captured the chaotic and crazy humor and atmosphere of the movies. The grafics on the PS5 are top tier, the planets are rich in detail and very appealingAfter the Avangers game and Spider man: Miles Morales my expectations were... to say they were low would be a immense understatement. The soundtrack is like in the movies a masterpiece. The characters and the context is more based on the comics but movies fans like I still will understand the most. Gamora for me is even a lot better than in the movies + I absolutely love the space lama. The decission system gives it a high replay value. Please a DLC or a Part 2 and more Marvel games as long as they are like this one.… Expand

    An epic adventure and one of the rare beacons of single-player games in all the puddle of **** online games. You will spend awesome 20-25 hours on very good and funny dialogs, cool story and soundtrack. I am loving this game. Though, personally, the "fighting gameplay" is not that interesting.

    Fighting is amazing, visuals are awesome, gameplay is stellar. Combos are dope as well as the easy battle system. Was very surprised this would be a good game. However Disney continues to pander to the female antagonists and don’t ever use men anymore. Seems sexist.

    Probably the current game of the year! I had an absolute blast playing this game. It's essentially like playing through a guardians of the Galaxy Movie. One of the funniest games I played and some awesome voice acting.

    there was nothing for the game. but the amazing dialogs, good gameplay and plot made me forget about the technical problems (potentially the game had its release well in advance). no doubt it would be a potential goty winner if it weren't for that.

    Pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed this game. The characters were very well written. All the actors did an exceptional job. Had some really awesome locations with really good level design. Some of my favorite parts were just chilling on the Milano listening to all the interactions. And for the love of God, keep the fridge closed!

    القصة جميلة وليست فقط قصة تجارية للعبة تجارية بل تخوض مغامرة بشخصيا مكتوبة بدقة وبشخصيات لها شخصية مختلفة مميزة عن الشخصية الأخرى وبعلاقات مدروسة
    القتال في البداية ممتع لكن مع التقدم يصبح مكررا والقدرات لا تحدث فارقا من حيثالوضع إلا نادرا فالقدرة عبارة عن ضرر أو... فليس هنالك قدرة مثلا تستخدمها في وضع معين ولا تصلح لوضع معين أخر بل لو استخمتها في أي وقت لما حدث ذلك الاختلاف الكبير
    وفي    القصة جميلة وليست فقط قصة تجارية للعبة تجارية بل تخوض مغامرة بشخصيا مكتوبة بدقة وبشخصيات لها شخصية مختلفة مميزة عن الشخصية الأخرى وبعلاقات مدروسة

    Amazing!Amazing!Amazing! This game is awesome and you will have so much fun playing it. I guess I never had this amount of fun in a game.every dialogue is funny and the relationship between the guardians is hilarious.
    The gameplay is also very good.
    If this game was built by rockstar or naughty dog it definitely would have been the game of the year.

    a fun game with a good story and great character interaction. one of the best of 2021. the boss fights can be tediously annoying and some of the battles seem to bite of more than they can chew , trying to control all 4 characters, but still great. i'd suggest playing on a ps5 though, even on ps4 pro the load times are horrid.

    This game is not good, but also not bad. The story is ok and the interaction between the characters is fine. Thats the soul of the game. But the combat, the mechanics is boring and nothing special. It feels like a video game. Compare it to God of war where you get suck into the story and you want to fight because its so much fun.     Combat is challenging enough where it’s not boring and the story is incredible. Really awesome experience. This was my first game on PS5. All the characters have similar personalities from the movie characters but are different enough to where it doesn’t feel copied.

    After Avengers game i lost hope on this one and i didn't buy it because i felt it would be the same , and now after a year i finally got it and i have to say this is flarkin' amazing.everything about this game is great!! Story, voice acting , gameplay. You'll never get bored at all. It's a super fun single player game that you have to try!

    This game looks great graphically and I do really enjoy the story itself. Unfortunately, I just do not find the gameplay itself fun. In particular, shooting feels really horrible in this game. It made me quit the game about half way because it just doesn't feel good and given that's what most of the game is, that's one of the most important aspects to get right.     I dont understand those ultimative postive reviews...

    Its a solid and good game, yes. And the dialoges are written really well.

    BUT, it just feels like the spiderman game for the ps4.
    What i am trying to say is: overall its good, but not revolutionary...

    This is an amazing story game. The story is really good and the length of the game is also perfect. The graphics are stunning and the game has a lot of detail. Just a bit disappointed that the characters are not the same as in the movies, but I know why they had to do it.

    First and foremost, the game has a lot of minor graphical glitches and framerate issue at certain parts of the game, nothing is game-breaking and definitely not a deal breaker, but then again they shouldn't be there.

    Gameplay is hollow with repetitive combat (you can only control Star Lord throughout the whole game). Teammate AI is bad, they do very little in combat on their own and you have to kill most of the things yourself. Enemy AI is bad too as most of the time they attack you only, which brings back the aforementioned issue - Teammate AI is bad and they are merely decorations.

    The entire game has a lot of meaningless QTE, one small mistake and your restart from previous check point. (Yes, I am not blind and I know you can turn off the QTE, but why have them in the first place?) The entire game has a lot of meaningless dialogue choices as well, they don't do a thing in the story progress, and some of them have a system-set 'right' answer - guess what, when you pick the 'wrong' one, you restart from previous check point.

    Saving system is a joke, who in the developer team thought it is a good idea to combine manual save and auto-save into the same save slot?

    No, this is not a masterpiece as others have claimed, it is not a bad game as well. As I said, 6/10 at best.    … Expand

    A lot of people wrote this game off before it came out but I’m glad I was one of the few who saw the vision!     Positives first, the game is just plain FUN. This game could’ve been made in the PS2 era & it would’ve fit right in, which I’m using as a compliment! Just a straightforward single player video game that feels so rare nowadays. The combat is hectic in a very satisfying way too! Some people complained about only being able to play as Star-Lord but that would’ve made things wayyy too messy with this combat system, if there is ever a sequel that goes completely over the top I could see it happening though. The graphics are great & the soundtrack goes hard too. All of the Guardians’ actors gave a great performance despite me being so used to the movie actors for them. I also really liked the choice & dialogue systems, I love replay-ability options like these.
    The complaints I do have are more minor, nothing in this game aggravated me to the point of dinging the score lower but I wasn’t hooked by the story as much as I wanted to be. At times it truly shined, ESPECIALLY the parts with Peter & his mother which really tugged at my homesick heartstrings. I get how the bickering between the Guardians makes sense in-universe & is how they usually are, but there’s SO much dialogue in this game even if it’s idle talking. Sometimes it just got a bit too much for me even if I liked all of the characters & their performances. The most glaring problem is the weird optimization that still hasn’t been patched on PS5 almost 2 years later. There are strange large frame drops often & a lot of bugs. Some of the bugs were really funny like when enemies would die & randomly have their bodies do a 180 twist before ragdolling across the room. Other bugs were annoying clipping issues & I would get stuck in the environments at least once per chapter, making me have to reload an auto save which thankfully never cost me a lot of progress, One part during a mid-game combat gauntlet a large mini boss enemy got caught in the ground and died instantly, leading to the rest of the combat encounter’s arena not opening up and allowing me to proceed. I had to sit through the dialogue all over again though.
    Overall I had a lot of fun with the Guardians & I hope one day a sequel gets greenlit, there’s so much potential for future titles!    … Expand

    It is a nice story however it’s often times goofy and nowhere near „stunning story“ as it is praised. You can have a good time with it, but please don’t expect witcher 3 or mass effect level of greatness.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. one of the best modern game that i've played in a long time very interactive characters. u feel like ur apart of an actual team. the story takes u in for a ride with goofy banter and very over the top guardian's action. so much dialogue that it makes u feel like u got to know them personally like ur apart of this family. this game connected with me in a personal level. it's disappointing that Gamora killed nebula before the event of this game, so we never actually got to see it on what actually happened. so much fan service that u can feel the love, care and just attention to detail when Eidos-Montréal made this. this game deserves a sequel. so many unlockables that's all free content takes me back to ps2 days when dlc's weren't ever a thing.i hope we get to romance with Gamora in the sequel, since it was teased that she has feelings for star lord like in the movies. honestly this game is better than mcu's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY in every way. Jon McLaren is star lord he stole the show he makes u invest time into this game from emotional moments down to quirky outrageous moments move aside Chris Pratt, this game version of star lord isn't just what we wanted it's what we needed.

    Guardians of Galaxy are the real blast that Marvel fans needed after more than mediocre Avengers. The “worst” part of the game is a mere fact, that you are not able to enjoy every single comment in the background and enjoy very well written characters.

    The story is entertaining, and it features characters from the Marvel universe that haven't yet surfaced in the movies, such as Fin Fang Foom, Lady Hellbender and the Nova Corps. Add in the requisite humor and self-deprecation and an eclectic killer soundtrack, and you get one of the most enjoyable games of the year.
