    For a game i thought was going to be even worse than the Avengers game, i was 100% happy to eat my own words. I was absolutely stunned at how awesome this game is. Graphically the game is gorgeous, gives you plenty of unique locations to explore, and has some very impressive facial animations. A big concern from the trailers was the comedy. it came off as incredibly corny and seemed as ifFor a game i thought was going to be even worse than the Avengers game, i was 100% happy to eat my own words. The banter between the characters is very natural and feels as if they really are having conversations with each other. Drax may have some of my favorite lines in the game. The story itself is very good, has some real moments with heart, and kept a good pace throughout. The gameplay is pretty fun but is also my only real complaint with the game. While the combat system works fine, it can be really repetitive at times, and i feel it needs more refining in certain areas. Ultimately the game won me over very early on and i am happy i gave it a chance because the trailers did not do this game justice. In fact the trailers seemed to have hurt the game. So it's good to see the word of mouth is getting it the recognition it deserves.… Expand

    I went into this game with really low expectations after Avengers, but boy was I in for a pleasant surprise. This game is a blast! The combat can be a bit overwhelming at first because a big part of it involves directing your fellow Guardians while you play as Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord). But there’s such a wide variety of enemies that you’re forced to change it up and try new things, soI went into this game with really low expectations after Avengers, but boy was I in for a pleasant surprise. This game is a blast! The combat can be a bit overwhelming at first because a big part of it involves directing your fellow Guardians while you play as Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord). But there’s such a wide variety of enemies that you’re forced to change it up and try new things, so it never gets boring or too repetitive. Despite not being an open-world game, GotG provides so much action, adventure, & exploration that I found myself not caring too much. I’m happy to report that it is not a short game, at least, not as short as I’d feared. The story is comprised of 16 chapters that each took me about 1-2 hours to complete (give or take). If you’re someone like me who likes to find collectibles & outfits, then it will probably run you about 20-25 hours of gameplay.

    By far, the best thing about this game (besides the 80s music!) is the characters. They may not look like their movie counterparts, but they talk & act just like them and I didn’t realize how much it mattered to me until now. Rocket is still Rocket, Drax still takes everything literally (and has that hilarious laugh). Their familiarity & chemistry is what makes this game great. I was also surprised at how many other familiar characters are featured (or mentioned) in the game. There’s so many references to Marvel lore that fans are going to have a field day. As with any game, there is always room for improvement and GotG is no exception. At multiple points while playing, I found myself thinking of ways this game could’ve been so much better (like being able to switch between characters). Despite those moments when it left me wanting, I enjoyed the heck out of it nevertheless. So for that reason I’m giving it an 8 out of 10. Definitely worth the $60 price.    … Expand

    Gente que decepção!! A Square já foi a rainha do RPG de mundo aberto e agora está se aventurando, de forma péssima, em jogos lineares. Esse jogo tinha tudo para virar um excelente RPG de mundo aberto: poderia explorar planetas, enfrentar chefes tops e secreto neles, etc. Mas ao invés disso criou um jogo linear chato, enfandonho e clichê.     Terrible gameplay and unacceptable amount of bugs that ruined the experience. I started to play at hard difficulty but switched to easy half way through the game because the bugs just made it impossible to master it at that difficulty. If you prefer good gameplay and epic boss battles like in souls games then you will be disappointed. Too much repetition and rehashing of the enemies makeTerrible gameplay and unacceptable amount of bugs that ruined the experience. As a game, objectively this is a terrible game. Yea it’s massive, but in terms of variety it’s worse than the games from the 90s. The main gameloop is just terrible. The piloting game loop is bad too. I disagree with the reviews completely and feel like this was a waste of my time and money as I trusted the reviews when buying this game. I can’t believe such a terrible game received such high reviews! I think most other reviewers simply rate it high because it’s guardians of the galaxy and they overlook the fact that the gameplay is bad and buggy. I completed the game in January 2022 and all these bugs that ruin the experience are all still there! No updates to fix it! Unbelievable! This ain’t Sekiro folks, that’s for sure!     This is a fantastic game with excellent voice acting, a great story, stunning graphics, and a ton of collectibles and lore. Combat is really fun and fast paced. A must play on the PS5!

    Nice Story, but the gameplay is bad and there are many bugs on PS5. The game worth 15$, but not a penny more! My girlfriend has ps plus premium, so it was free for me.

    Je me suis forcé à le finir, je ne trouve pas le jeu très amusant. Le gameplay est vraiment raté avec des combats nullissimes et une exploration désagréable. L'histoire n'est pas intéressante et vraiment oubliable. Mis à part les musiques qui sont cools, je n'ai pas aimé Les Gardiens de la Galaxie.

Listening them conversarte between each other was a delight. The comedy hits and the action plays well. The movement is a bit tanky but I got use to it after 10 mins of gameplay. The team huddle is my fave thing to do because it plays so well with the music. Good story line, great plot, and all characters are appealing.     Engaging and funny adventure from beginning to end. I really enjoyed my time with the Guardians! Too bad it's only 4k30 though. I hope it gets patched before my next playthrough.

    Truly next generation, a perfect 10. I would not have ever played this game if it hadn't been part of PS Extra, and it was an eye opening experience.

    The game stood out immediately due to it's graphical quality on ps5, with extreme detail and lovingly designed sets rendered in perfect 4k. I later found out I was running in performance mode instead of quality or raytracing. The score is    Truly next generation, a perfect 10.     The game stood out immediately due to it's graphical quality on ps5, with extreme detail and lovingly designed sets rendered in perfect 4k. The score is marvelous and cinematic, and if you grew up in the 80ies there will never be a better game soundtrack.

    But the true distinction in this game is in the writing. It's written at a level of a Marvel blockbuster, with constant meaningful dialog by the characters, but stretching over the week or so that it'll take you to complete the game. On a deeper level, the story is meaningful and interesting.

    This makes this game a novel work of art. I can't stress enough how big of a step this is - this is the game where the family gets together to watch the player complete just for the sake of getting the story.

    A special shout out to the actors and voice actors in this game. For licensing reasons, the games feature character models different from the cinematic actors, which to me has been offputting in the past. In this game, the actors and writers did such a phenomenal job that the dissonance (which is explained away by alternate timelines) disappeared and I fully bought into their portrayal.

    At 10/10, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is still criminally underrated.    … Expand

    One of those few games that I'll happily give top marks. They had the deck stacked against them after the movies since it felt weird to accept new versions of those same characters. But I ended up finding the game versions even better than in the movies.

    Doesn't reach GREAT GAME status for me, but since i got it with my subscription it was definitely a good game. My biggest complaint, believe it or not, is why are they always yelling?? LOL If you can get this with you PS subscription or used at GameStop, give it a whirl.

    I really enjoyed this game. The gameplay, visuals were top notch, but i also really loved the story & characters. I do miss triple A games with a solid campaign, no online multiplayer and -surprisingly- the pause button

    On the negative side of things: There were more puzzles than I would have liked, I was hoping it would be more of an action game, and less about puzzles. Though the puzzles would have been ok-ish, if they hadn't been so repetitive...it felt like it was the same 2-3 types of puzzles, over and over and over and over again. That I could have definitely done without. And the combat was a little juvenile, repetitive and boring.

    Was really more like an interactive movie than a game though, with excessively long 'scenes' that required little more than a few button clicks from the player; amounting to a pretty 'meh' experience overall.    … Expand

If you even remotely like GoTG, this is some of the best, most fun, most awesome adventure they have ever been on, with brilliant character interactions. Loved the game but man I wish we had a GoTG TV show based on this version of the characters.

    Really really fun. Heavy on story over gameplay (even for someone who loves story heavy games). Seriously felt like 80% story to 20% gameplay. The 3rd act drags a fair bit as well, so I was a little tired out when all was said and done. Regardless of that, it's clearly a game that has surprised everyone. Myself included.

    Hat schon durchaus Spaß gemacht, war mir am Ende aber zu lang und immer das gleiche Draufgekloppe. Die Gegnertypen waren meist auch langweilig und so. Der Soundtrack ist geil, aber teils auch Geschmackssache, ich kann zb überhaupt nichts mit Rock/Metal anfangen und war teils genervt. Paar Klassiker waren aber auch geil.

    Im Großen und Ganzen aber eine Runde Sache, die Spaß gemacht hat.

    Holy cow, is it possible ?

WOW. you almost forget you play a stupidly normal white southern US metal loving country guy. mister max ordinary. and its still fun to the brim.

    A fun single player story, a beautiful graphic even on PS4. One the best campaign i have played! The dub in Portuguese is the best I've ever seen! They used the same voice actors from the movies here, it was amazing!

    La historia, sin ser nada del otro mundo, esta muy bien contada, las cinemáticas son bastante emocionantes y, además, en castellano    Un juego divertido sin muchas complicaciones que consigue mantenerte enganchado hasta el final (algo al parecer dificil hoy en día).
    Los combates son sencillos pero cumplen, aunque si que es verdad que a veces se hacen demasiado constantes y repetitivos.
    La historia, sin ser nada del otro mundo, esta muy bien contada, las cinemáticas son bastante emocionantes y, además, en castellano tiene la ventaja de contar con el doblaje de las pelis (a excepcion de Peter Quill que es un desastre).
    Gráficamente es de lo mas tocho que se ha visto en la nuevo generación, solo le falta tener una mejor dirección artistica en cuanto a rostros (incomprensibles) y trajes de los personajes, y estar algo más pulido ya que, si bien no son muy frecuentes, hay bugs que pueden arruinarte la experiencia.    … Expand

Tatsächlich war die zweite Hälfte etwas schwächer aufgrund von viel zu vielen Schießereien, die sich halt nichtWow.. das war wirklich ein gute Überraschung.     Gran videojuego, honestamente no esperaba nada pero es un juego realmente divertido con mucha variedad de lugares, una historia bastante entretenida y una jugabilidad muy completa, ojalá sigan saliendo más juegos de este estilo.

    Me encanto, graficamente es un 10 pero no por jugarle en la PS5 lo juegue en una Xbox Series X que es mejor, tiene mucha accion y te engancha, por momentos se hace repetitivo por eso un 9

    Amazing music, great graphics and perfect story. I also really loved the combat system, so engaging and easy to learn. The game helps you to learn step by step, one of the easiest controls I've seen for a long time. This is a must play for everyone

There never really is a dull moment and I felt the characters and their dialogue were endearing and amusing in the fact that they didn't take themselves too seriously for the most part.     The gameplay is simple but effective, graphics level, I love the artistic direction, it's very fluid on ps5, very few bugs.

    The dialogues between the characters reveal a lot of very interesting information about this universe and for the older ones, a lot of nods to the 80s and 90s.

    The very correct lifespan (finished in ~23h without rushing me, searching everywhere), the chapters follow one another well, we don't see the time passing.
    Difficulty level, the normal mode is really too simple, the difficult mode is recommended to put a little challenge.

    Not at all disappointed, it's a good big surprise for a game I wasn't expecting, it's really fun.    … Expand

    After the avengers game I wasn't expecting much from this game but it absolutely blew me away! There's no open world it is linear but this shows not everything has to be open world. The level design is great, the action is non stop and the dialogue is constantly either funny or heart warming. I actually enjoyed the story and the characters more than the movies. I know that the game has not much purchases and it is bad, because this game 200 times better than worst Marvel Avangers. I Hope developers understand that. 9/10 from me, just small problems with animations, another things in game are perfect.

Square Enix really went all out on delivering an incredible journey I loved even more than Insomniac's Spider-Man. Telling an amazing and compelling story where all your choices matter, this game was just as much fun to watch as it was to play as I went on so many adventures with this lovable cast. While I only 'liked' them after seeing their first movie in 2014, I 'LOVE' them after going on this journey with them in 2022. This game felt more like a sequel than the second movie did by really expanding on each Guardian and growing their characters, occasionally making me super emotional and always increading my love for each one of them. And while I dare not spoil the plot, I will say the journey this game takes you on comes with many twists and turns you never expect and always makes you excited to play more.

    Gameplay may be secondary to the story, but it definitely has no shortcomings. The combat is a blast, the world always charming to explore, and the music a constant intense and fantastic. Doing combos with your characters and leading your team into battle always feels so satisfying, and while you technically only control Star-Lord, you really do feel like you're always playing as a team. There are a good amount of glitches, and perhaps a crash here or there, but even so it's always easy to work around or catch yourself back up with each setback.

    Had I played this game last year, there's no doubt in my mind it would have made my Top 10 list for 2021. This game is a true masterpiece and a work of love and passion, and singlehandedly made me love the Guardians even more than I already did. I can't recommend this masterpiece enough and I hope more of my friends out there experience it. It really is flarking amazing.    … Expand

    I flarking love this game! Im on chapter 9 and I cant stop playing it because it gets better and better each new chapter. Beautiful graphics. Awesome game play. Entertaining story. Great 80s music! I would of gave it a 10 but I got stuck in multiple spots throughout the game where I had to restart my game to get unstuck because the traversal isn't that good, its not bad but I think itI flarking love this game! The dialogue got very tiresome at times ('we're a team' x100,000 times). Just dragged on a bit too long for my liking.Half way though i was sure i was going to give this a 9/10.     Worth playing. I've read a lot of reviews about this and finally decided to give it a try since it was on PSPlus. The story is fun and it's a nice kind of origin story to a version of the Guardians. I never read the comics but I did enjoy this take on their backstory.     The voice acting is really good and I really enjoy how they made the characters different from the movie but better. They finally did Mantis justice too. I actually really liked all of the characters in this one, I feel like they got it right. The interactions and conversations are entertaining and learning more about things is optional.

    The gameplay is decently good. I like some of the mechanics but there are some gripes about controls and jumping mechanics. I missed a lot of gaps and holes because of some weird bugs where I got to the next ledge but somehow instead of grabbing the ledge the character fell down a pit anyway. I've been trapped between objects, stuck on objects, or otherwise character locked so I had to reload from the checkpoint. I've had my team just stand there and do nothing for parts of a fight. That one was rare. There were also audio bugs where I saw subtitles but no audio at all. There was an entire section of the game where Groot just didn't have audio.

    I enjoyed the story and making selections on how to handle things. I'd replay to see what difference it makes but I have other things to play. The costumes and collectibles are neat but nothing I care about. The upgrades seem a little limited, I really expected more upgrades but you can get everything pretty quickly in the game.

    Overall I liked it. I enjoyed playing through it. Wasn't too long but about what I expected. It's mostly on rails, still has a few issues a year in and little annoyances but I thought it was better than the movies.    … Expand

    Guardians of Galaxy are the real blast that Marvel fans needed after more than mediocre Avengers. The “worst” part of the game is a mere fact, that you are not able to enjoy every single comment in the background and enjoy very well written characters.

    The story is entertaining, and it features characters from the Marvel universe that haven't yet surfaced in the movies, such as Fin Fang Foom, Lady Hellbender and the Nova Corps. Add in the requisite humor and self-deprecation and an eclectic killer soundtrack, and you get one of the most enjoyable games of the year.
