Mar 31, 2025Bizarre, unfiltered and mind-blowing. The experience in KARMA: The Dark World is insane, just the way I like it and the way a psychological horror game should be. Although it has some technical issues, it manages to deliver tension without the need for overdoing the famous "jump scares".

Apr 2, 2025Karma: The Dark World is a fascinating psychological horror that offers some great puzzles, an interesting story, and an uncomfortable atmosphere.

Apr 2, 2025Karma: The Dark World is a rare game that offers stark familiarity but challenges the concept of normalization. Its mechanical trappings keep it grounded and mildly rote. But it is horror with minimal jump scares. Techno-thriller via existential dreams. Disparate elements made tenuously coherent. Beyond any critique, however, Pollard Studio, with their debut, have made a game with truly stunning visual direction that only the most seasoned directors have achieved.

Mar 27, 2025Karma: The Dark World is not a classic survival horror - but an audiovisual experiment with a political undertone that feels like a fever dream. A project that should rather be understood as an interactive work of art, possibly even as a critical statement. Atmospherically, it is brilliant, its content deep - but playfully often too slow and stiff to reach a wide audience. For anyone interested in symbolic narratives, dystopian systems and artistic forms of fear, it's a game that will stay with you for a long time.

Mar 31, 2025A gripping psychological thriller set in a dystopian East Germany, blending immersive storytelling with a striking art direction and intriguing themes of memory, love, and control. While it lacks groundbreaking mechanics and has minor performance issues, its strong narrative, surreal visuals, and atmospheric tension make it a highly engaging experience.

Mar 27, 2025A horror adventure with a strong cinematic flavor, with aesthetics and themes that bring to mind the works of Lynch, Cronenberg and Nolan. The gameplay is reduced to the bare minimum and there are a few too many bugs, which however do not compromise the enjoyment of an extremely "atmospheric" experience with adult content.

Apr 3, 2025With strong influences from Twin Peaks and Orwell's 1984, Karma: The Dark World presents a compelling dystopian setting with a strong narrative. That said, it could benefit from more challenging puzzles and faster movement for the main character. faster movement for the main character.

Mar 27, 2025Karma: The Dark World has all the merits and defects of a first work. It wants to say a lot, sometimes too much, in a story that tells of family, love, guilt, control, but sometimes it gets lost in the countless parentheses it opens. On the other hand, it often manages to amaze with a freshness and a production worthy of a video game much bigger than it is. Perhaps the best quality it carries on its shoulders is that of knowing how to talk about freedom despite being born in a political context that makes it almost a subversive work.
