The game's story is quite boring and after a few hours I started skipping dialogues. I don't know if anyone can manage to listen to all the dialogues including a ton of optional ones. I hope the next part of the game will contain half of the content but will offer interesting gameplay and a main storyline. Graphics 9.5/10, game mechanics 6/10. Expand

What an amazing ride! I personally played on easy on the PS5 and enjoyed the spectacle and pacing of the narrative. Almost every frame is a work of art. It’s amazing that it’s all in real time. The mechanics feel refined over the original so I’m definitely going to play on a harder difficulty on my next play through.

The enemies animate so well, the environments are dense and intricately

If you have any time to spare at all, Forbidden West is worthy of it.

I started on hardest as always and the game is clearly not made for that. Biggest issue in is movement since it also affects lower difficulties. Aloy often jumps on walls during fight and its very slow animation both up and down. Since on hardest its either 50% hp or instakill, if this happens you are dead. Another movement problem is mount. It gets constantly stuck on smallest bumps and since everything giving me IK mount is actually slower than walking because of really good chance that you will just get killed when you cant move for 20 sec. Why i do think game is not made for hardest difficulty is amount of grind you need. Health bars of machines are something. It became common thing for me that I just cant finish quest bc i just shot 100 expensive arrows to weak point I run out of ammo and machine is like nothing. That is very annoying since game makes you to grind in order to progress the story, because its not really about skill but about numbers. So you cant check how much hp enemies have that means you also have no idea if you are prepared enough. Now you have to grind, well not I have side quests right? You do but they are no different to grind maybe even worse. Constatly same premises "machine problem", "rescue" or "we need supplies". Dont get me wrong every rpg have this thing, problem is they cant make side characters interesting. They always just whine and ask you for help or they are arrogant and you prove them wrong. There is nothing interesting about them which is sad bc there is **** load of side quest. Maybe it changed later but after 15th side quest im just skipping scenes because scooby doo had more different stories than this side quests. Only thing I enjoyed is main story, plot is changing and kinda mysterious thats why i dont rate it as total garbage. Idk maybe if I put it on easy i would enojyed game since i could progress in main story which is only interesting and new thing compared to ZD but that's game fault. Expand

I liked first game but Forbidden West is boring and dull. I don't like dialogues, i don't like side quest and i don't like pase and sequence of the plot. The game is not for fans of first game but for who then? For sjw activists? because the only thing that i see clearly is "diversity".

An absolutely stellar game -Great combat, fighting anything has so much depth and strategy behind it. Even the human enemies have received a massive overhaul -great exploration, that glider is a godsent, unique scenarios around the world -good story though stakes weren't as high as the first game -Great boss fights. They actually implemented an excellent and unique final boss.

-Great open world lots of lush biomes each with its own distinct visuals.
-Great side quests, some of which also change the landscapes and clan leaders. Overall had fun 90% of the time
    -great customization options
-great weapon variety each with their own skills and moves -Elaborate skill tree -The combat has so much more to offer than what it did in the first game -Machine strike mitigate was fun same thing as gwent in Witcher 3
-great visuals especially on 60 fps performance mode on ps5
    Cons
-Lmae ass melee combat. They need to scrap it in the next game and fully focus on range combat --Not much variety in world activities
-managing coils and loots is a nightmare -Robotic npcs and dead towns -copy pasted settlements, you won't see any city on the grand scale as meridian in the first game.

Horizon Forbidden West doesn't quite live up to the previous installment, it's more Horizon but feels quite a bit more clunky and bloated to it's predecessor and would have been better if it had a more focused approach. It's another game that had me missing probably quite entertaining content because I was bored and just wanting to finish the main story.

It's another game that had me missing probably quite entertaining content because I was bored and just wanting to finish the main story.

The combat in this game felt like a huge downgrade, weapons like the cannister rope gun seemed entirely pointless because the creatures move so fast it's impossible to actually ignite the cannisters once they've been attached. Maybe this is a different story on PC.

Every dialogue interaction is so drawn out I found myself hitting skip, sometimes less is more.

    Pros:
    Excellent presentation
Good map design and interesting locations
    Good weapon selection
    60FPS for fluid gameplay

    Cons:
    Clunky combat
    Hours of quite boring dialogue
Clunky controls (Swinging to hit an enemy and flopping off a cliff happened frequently)
Unintuitive Control Scheme (I found myself pressing the wrong button constantly)
Far too long (too many sidequests and too much filler content)

Forbidden west is a true masterpiece.
Better than the original in almost everything.
Great story, great characters and mega art direction/graphics. For me the only flaw was some aspects of the gameplay design, mainly in climb controls and some in combat. I do think they have some more ground to cover in the gameplay design to make it more precise and responsive. And NO microtransaction

Beautiful graphics and interesting gameplay were ruined for me by the portrayal of Alloy as condescending and arrogant toward the people she runs into on her journey. I'm not sure why writing for the second installment took such a turn for the worse after a decent story of the first game.

This game is ok, but it soon becomes very repetitive.

I feel like in Horizon: Zero dawn they had taken the best of the Far Cry like structure and added to their cool concept. Most things served a purpose and there was a manageable quantity of "things" to collect and do. In Forbidden West I feel that they just got the "content fever" that plague so many open world games. Most things served a purpose and there was a manageable quantity of "things" to collect and do. In Forbidden West I feel that they just got the "content fever" that plague so many open world games. They put too much of everything. There so much crafting parts that you now have to use a lot of time specifically to get parts, it's fun at first but it becomes redundant very fast. There are so many weapons and armor with very minor differences between them that it isn't so obvious what the purpose of each is.

This game is still enjoyable, though I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to finish it. I much preferred Zero Dawn which I completed pretty much entirely. Developers should stop designing jobs into their games, that's not what I'm playing them for. If you're a fan of tons of more or less significant content you'll have a lot of fun with this game, if not, it'll most likely feel tiring at some point. I preferred the more focused approach of Zero Dawn.

Provatelo!

Horizon Forbidden West is very visually impressive and plays well enough too. Unfortunately, it feels very outdated at the same time with predetermined climbing selections, a very limited arsenal, no friendly NPC interactions/reactions when attacked, etc.

It oddly feels a lot like Far Cry which adds to an overly familiar and boring experience imo. I think new gamers will enjoy it, but

Let’s talk about the positives parts first. The game is absolutely gorgeous in both performance and Quality thanks to recent update that solve most of the problems of performan even tough they still are pop up that subsist and some shimmering but it is one of the most beautiful game I ever play. The character models and animation improved a lot compared to Zero Dawn. Some of the side stories are really well written and may feel even better than the main quests. If you are used to play open world adventure games, you might be able to at least appreciate this game.

Let’s talk about the negative parts know. The worst part in my opinion is the combat system, it was already bad in Zero Dawn and while it improved a little it still doesn’t live up to today’s standards. You can’t lock your ennemies so if they jump or fly too much or you are fighting multiple robots at the same, it becomes an unfun mess. Not quiet sure how the devs fought it was find not to include a lock system for the enemies but here we are, the combat are the worst gameplay parts in the game. And while dodging enemies attacks, it’s not rare to get stuck on parts of the decor that you couldn’t see thanks to the bad camera. The AI that « help » you on some fights are completely useless. The main story isn’t that good either, it tries too hard and some parts are hard to swallow or make little sense even of the game take action in the 30th century. The game took a lot of inspiration on other popular games like Breath of The wild, The Witcher, AC, Mass Effect but somehow manage to do less than all of those games in the part or copied. And if you enjoyed the liberty that some of those games gave you in character building, you are out of like. The game barely let you make any decisions and you can’t really influence Aloy personality and how she choses to deal with things. For a true RPG fan, it might be a big deal. The games still to this day still have technical issues and bugs, I got stuck in the air and it decors a few time or enemies that walk on the air, their AI isn’t that good either, you can walk in front of them and they won’t see you. The combat system is just weak and boring. In that kind game, not being able to influence the conversation makes you care less and not wanting to listen to all of those conversations. So yeah if you are used to some higher profile RPGs, this game is playable but it won’t live to those standards.

I must revise this after 6 months to be fair. They finally fixed the game's ai and troubling navigation.. though its best enjoyed by skipping all the cutscenes to avoid all the ugly woke butch characters the gameplay and technology is finally up to par. As a rule of thumb do not buy big games at release.. devs are 3-6 months behind the business schedule

Horizon Forbidden West is Guerrilla's best game to date, taking Aloy to new heights with a blockbuster release that meets the high standards set by PlayStation in recent years. While it's totally worth fans jumping in on day one, it's perhaps better to wait a few weeks until all the bugs are ironed out.

Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
