    Don't understand where all the hate comes from but this game is a masterpiece.
    First time since RDR 2 that i'm blown away by the world, graphics, and story.
    Even better than the first game.
    So ignore all the salty soyboy hate and play this game.
    It's awesome!!

    This game is just mind-blowing beautiful and immersive. I love that you can make your own strategy and plan take down of the machines just like you want. You can cheese it, go upfront or test your skills. The world just want to be explored and discovered. I loved the first one and Differently love the sequel. I am still roaming around to get 100% and I hope I will find every Easter egg,This game is just mind-blowing beautiful and immersive.     Solid game. Would rate it a 8.5. But it's not worthy of a 9, so I'll be rounding down to an 8 for Metacritics sake.

    Pros: - Adaptive triggers made the weapons feel more fun to use. - Very interesting story, although it wasn't amazing. - Great mini games. - Looks like a next-gen video game. - New machines are amazing. Lots of variety. - Significant improvement to UI. The amount of    Solid game. Would rate it a 8.5. But it's not worthy of a 9, so I'll be rounding down to an 8 for Metacritics sake.

    Cons:
    - Many noticeable bugs (I lost a legendary weapon because of a bug).
    - No universal vendor. Did not even know some weapons existed until the end of the game
    - AI is mediocre
    - Although the overall story was good, the quests felt repetitive.
    - Machines spamming the same move over and over when I'm down, so I am unable to roll to safety.
    - Map stays foggy when scanning all tall necks. I feel like the entire map should be fog-free once all the tall
    necks are scanned.
    - Couldn't jump through certain windows even though it had enough space to fit Aloy. If they didn't want people
    going to that location, how about blocking the location off with some structures instead of putting an
    invisible wall.
    - They really need to build a more personal 'relationship' between Aloy and the player. Aloy has no personality.
    Show her human side. Some non-machine fighting scenes. There were a few of them in the game, but not nearly
    enough. First game nailed the personal side of Aloy. But this game seemed to almost have skipped it.    … Expand

    Very good game and the fact that u can customize how ur aloy is ex if u like traps u can spend all ur skill points on the trap skill tree

    Perfected version of Horizon. Graphics Story, Performance mode are all flawless. Enemy types are are much more diverse then expected. There is a also a feature end game that I thought was not possible but they did it!!! Some small bugs are present but will probably get patched out and dose not deter from
    The game. Also LOVE STRIKE!!!

    Great graphics, fun gameplay, beautiful world, much more engaging cutscenes, more traversal and combat techniques. The story is worse than HZD and feel somewhat incomplete, also you will spend much of the game doing thing that feel uncosiquential by the end. I wished they focused more on the tribes and thier politics. Overall a great game

    Started this game with high expectations and oh boy did it exceed them. An amazing continuation of the story and an absolutely beautiful game. I'd score more if I could

    Had no issues running it at all on PS4 apart from the occasional loading screen which can easily be looked past.

    Worst PS5 exclusive so far, Aloy (thumb head MC no joke) are somehow extra annoying through the game, world is very pretty but insanely empty. There's nothing much going on in the game and Aloy is still unlikeable as hell. Story is underwhelming compared to first one and side characters/their side quests somehow are even more forgettable. Other thing that drove me into giving this 3 out of 10 is bugs, I don't know how people can ignore cyberpunk 2077 level bugs that crashes your framerate and physics glitches like suddenly throwing you across the area (this happened to me few times especially when I'm trying to swim).     This game is incredible. Graphically stunning! Animations are top notch. The world is dense and vibrant. Foliage is superb. Story is outstanding. Highly recommend.

    I played Horizon Forbidden West along with the DLC, and they've improved on a lot of aspects of that game with this one. Are there a few bugs? Sure, but tell me a game where there aren't. If you look at the posters with these 0 ratings, most give every Sony game a 0, so take that as you will.

    HFW is a phenomenal game with a truly unique universe, combat system, enemies, and story line. It is absolutely ridiculous that it did not receive better reception than other games releasing around this period, or even its prequel, considering it is greatly improved and more impressive in just about every way.     This game has not received the reception it deserves, largely, in my opinion, due to it being a console exclusive with a teen rating and young female protagonist that contrasts the strong, silent older male protagonists of other highly rated games such as those above. If you are interested in this game please try it and don’t believe the short sighted negative reviews of others who believe this game has nothing to offer, or worse accuse it of not being original or unique.    … Expand

    Amazing game! It sucks you into your seat and also keeps you on the edge of your seat sometimes. HFW is just as good as the first one!! Amazing storyline and game mechanics too.

    Until now, this is the most beautiful game of Playstation 5 and it have the best story too.
    There was some render problems at launch but it was solved in the last update.

    What I Dislike: A lot of pointless cutscenes when NPCs give you items gets annoying after a while. Minor gripe in an amazing game. But to be serious, some weapons and skills are unbalanced and kind of useless.

    How It Stacks Up: This is GOTY contender in a stacked year. I predict that they will delay GOW Ragnarok to 2023 just so there isn't as much competition. This game is that good. Too bad it released so close to Elden Ring. Looking forward to Horizon VR. I was already sold on PSVR2, but this game just cemented my purchase.    … Expand

    HFW has managed to improve on almost all aspects of HZD, which is very rare these days from a sequel. The graphics are absolutely stunning and the combat feels just as good as the first. The new machines are absolutely incredible and the new weapons to take them on are very fun to use.

    My biggest worry going into the game was the story. HZD had such a unique story and I was worried that    HFW has managed to improve on almost all aspects of HZD, which is very rare these days from a sequel. The graphics are absolutely stunning and the combat feels just as good as the first. The new machines are absolutely incredible and the new weapons to take them on are very fun to use.

    My biggest worry going into the game was the story. HZD had such a unique story and I was worried that HFW wasn't going to be able to capture that same charm now that the mystery behind the Old Ones had been revealed. But holy cow has HFW delivered on the story! I cannot get enough of the lore and I'm always choosing every available dialogue option to hear every little tidbit. This is a game that's truly worth of 9's and 10's unlike Elden Ring.    … Expand

    Even though I have not finished it this game feels fantastic. The rich lore that expands on the first game is great and so far it looks amazing on PS5. Some of the change to crafting at good and at other times bad, I didn’t mind the crafting on the go in the first game but having to go to a workbench to upgrade things like pouches is a little tedious, however I can easily look past that

I loved it so much I bought the DLC which I also thought was excellent, the graphics were beautiful and the game was polished. Im afraid the Forbiden west is just a huge step backwards. DREADFUL ACTING !!! . Another annoyance is the blatant copying of mechanics from other games and then implementing it worse than the the game they got inspiration from. I dont think I will even finish this game. Next time I hope Guerilla games polish and properly play test there games before release.… Expand

    This is an exceptionally gorgeous open world game. Sublime combat and storytelling make this a must play for any PlayStation owner. The level of detail in the world and the quality of life improvements truly make this game shine.

    Horizon has enchanted me again. After a slow start, a graphically beautiful, sophisticated sequel comes, polished in every aspect, and underscored by a great soundtrack on top of that. The sequel was simply a success. Everything that worked before works even slightly better now. [Issue#317]

    Horizon Forbidden West is Guerrilla's best game to date, taking Aloy to new heights with a blockbuster release that meets the high standards set by PlayStation in recent years. While it's totally worth fans jumping in on day one, it's perhaps better to wait a few weeks until all the bugs are ironed out.

    Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
