    GYLT from Tequila Works is a heavy game to bear. Its story is overwhelmingly sad, relatable, and impactful. The gameplay is built to complement the story and the devs did a great job of pulling those two pieces together. This game isn’t for the faint of heart and it will certainly get you in the feels, but the journey is worth the emotional risk.

    A great example on how video games not only entertain, but also deliver powerful messages. Gylt is not the most groundbreaking experience out there, but it sure is a necessary food for thought.

    Gylt is a worthwhile adventure not only for the story, but also because of the challenges it puts in front of us. It has been developed so that it can be enjoyed by any type of player, whether they are a fan of horror and puzzle games, or new to them. The title was released for the now defunct Stadia back in 2019, but Tequila Works has decided to recreate it so that it can be enjoyed again on other platforms.

    While its gameplay can feel a little basic at times, we’re really glad that GYLT is now free of Stadia. This is a small but powerful horror title that tackles an important issue while also providing hours of engaging gameplay. And though there’s nothing truly original here, Tequila Works has obviously put this together with care. If nothing else, it deserves praise for simply being a horror game accessible to younger audiences while still being unsettling for all.

    It's to be applauded how they managed to create a terrifying setting without using elements like gore or disgusting monster designs. Without leaving the PEGI 12, GYLT offers a brilliant immersion.

    This will be the first chance for many to try this classic survival horror, than even if quite simplistic, delivers a fun and enjoyable adventure for fans of the genre.

    The greatest quality of GYLT is not in its gameplay, but in making use of a very relevant theme to show us that, sometimes, our biggest nightmare can be sitting right next to us.

    The story isn't fleshed out; the level design can be pretty linear which makes puzzles really easy; combat mechanics don't have a ton of depth

    Thoughts-
    Despite its many shortcomings, GYLT is a passable adventure that managed to retain my interest for the entirety of its campaign. Sure, the mechanics aren’t anything new or particularly innovative – but they serve their purposes for the relatively short runtime of around six hours. The story also has an interesting premise, but it falters in the face of a barebones structure and poor pacing. GYLT might be worth a try if you find any of this interesting, but it’s totally passable if you aren’t particularly piqued by anything that’s on offer.    … Full Review »

    This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Where do I begin with this game? Maybe I should point fingers at the trailer for stressing its horror elements. At the core of this game - it is about 1) finding your cousin and 2) finding out why she went missing in the first place.

    To me, it's an either-or type of game. Either you wanted a mindless horror game with monsters or you delve a bit deeper into the emotional core of the title. Maybe it's my age, but I chose to focus on the latter. If you choose to not read any "books" this game is kind of mindless. You have no idea why your (spoilers) cousin chooses to run from you every chance she gets or again why.

    Graphics... I'm fine with them (cute, adorable - nice animations, etc). The game itself isn't too long. I just don't like how they did the story. You're essentially running after this kid and unless you read everything - you don't know why.

    Trophies... not too bad. Only one collectible you'll probably have to look up, it's in a really stupid place - that for most will be impossible to find without a guide. I enjoyed it for the most part.    … Full Review »
