    Update 1.11 resolves some of the many issues related to in game economy and makes the game seem much less like the MXT cash grab that it was. Unfortunately, PD and Sony have already lost a lot of trust and respect from the GT community. Only time will tell if this OK game can become good or even great.     What I think would make this game better:
    1) Allow for qualifying to set starting position for at least championship races.
    2) Update AI to race and compete when behind (no rubber banding).
    3) Allow for selling of already owned cars (this is stated to be coming in a future patch).
    4) Drastically change MTX price and quantity options or rework MTX all together.
    5) Update UI to move between menus quicker.    … Expand

    A great game company gone bad: To be clear, there is a lot to like about this game, good car selection, good customization options and a decently fun (if a little short) single player, however, this game has serious problems. It's nothing short of heartbreaking for a long time Gran Turismo fan like myself.

    EDIT: They have, for the most part, solved my main issue with the game since I originally posted this review with the 1.11 update. The in-game economy is much improved since launch. It is now much less time consuming to grind for in-game credits and the game is much better for it though it still needs work. My rating of this game has gone from a 2 to a 5.    … Expand

    Bad points= There was alot of hype about the weather and how great the clouds were, but the elephant in the room is unless you are driving using the in car view you cant see it starting,stopping or actually raining at all. If you use any other view you can hear the rain and notice the track getting getting darker in colour but you cant see any rain failing so if you play with the volume low you suddenly find the car sliding about. If you look to the left bottom side of the screen theres a icon showing how much standing water is on the track. To be fair once theres a lot of water on track you can see puddles. Other games have done the weather effects better on previous gen consoles. For a nex gen ps5 console game it looks like to much time was focused on the cars looking great and everyone forgot to notice that playing using any view but in car that no rain could be seen failing. Apart from the graphics overhaul,sound improvement, tweaked handling, the game seems stuck in a time loop and hasn't moved on. At present the servers are down and because you need a online connection it can't be played properly.
    Not enough cars, more expensive to buy the cars, trying to get you to buy real money in game credits to progress. Cut down amount of one player races. The cars can't be sold like on previous GT etc
    A missed opportunity tbh considering how big a budget, how big the resources are of the developer it could of been so much better.
    Im old enough to be around when GT1 was originally launched and it was ground breaking at the time and over versions and time it improved. ive spent thousands of hours playing all the GT games and i hate to say it but im disappointed considering i bought the ps5 because GT7 only months away from coming out.
    I remember when Driveclub was released and it was down scored because of the sheer demand for the game the servers would crash, but at least the one player game was still playable if you didn't have a internet connection. Talking of Driveclub id say the weather effects are still better the GT7 at present.    … Expand

    It was and still is a great racing game. Stunning cars but somewhat sloppy on the rest. For instance when it get dark it's like someone hits a lightswitch. Some challenges within the same difficulty are really simple and some impossible (or almost). It is a shame that they haven't put more effort in actually teaching people how to race.

    Es ist schwer zu unterscheiden ob man GT SPORT oder GT7 spielt. Grafisch ist Flop trotz Ray Tracing. Beim Arcade Spielen braucht man ständig Internet Verbindung aber warum! FPS ist nicht immer stabil!

    Really enjoyed the game and I glad they listened to the players, think some things still need improving to give the game more balance when earning credits but I think the game will only get better

    Solid GT. Great graphics. Dual sense controller makes it a lot more fun. Being online-only sucks. Everyone complains about the cost of cars but that’s kind of the point of the game. If you could buy the fastest cars immediately what would the fun be?

    The biggest problem in this game in my opinion are the micro-transactions. In gt sport AT LEAST they wouldnt shove the option to buy more stuff down your throat i mean literally EVERY TIME you get any credits there's a button that says "top up on playstation store" which is completely shameless considering i paid 100 dollars for this game since i got the anniversary edition but thatsThe biggest problem in this game in my opinion are the micro-transactions. If my calculations are correct which is already like paying for the game 2 WHOLE TIMES TO GET 1 DAMN CAR. ANDDDD if that wasnt bad enough YOU HAVE LIMITED TIME YO BUY THE CARS.
    They also added an invitation system to get certain cars from certain brands which isnt that bad and on paper actually sounds pretty good. How these invites work is that you get one each 2 weeks but they also expire after those 2 weeks so you are forced to grind for those cars or else you'll need to wait god knows how long until you get another invitation for that brand of cars but with how micro transactions are forced down your throat this just feels like another way to make you buy more credits which just gets me mad.

It would cost well over $100 to buy some cars in the game and that is just absolutely rediculous.

    I can confidently say that GT7 has improved in all aspects from GT Sport. Basic car physics has become more realistic yet playable for beginners, brought back the traditional progression with a little sprinkle of stories, and kept all functionality that was in GTSport and previous numbering titles.     Some people complain that few Legend cars particularly the Sauber C9, Porsche 917k, and the McLaren F1 requires over 3000 hours of grinding to buy or spend $200 on MTX. To be honest, the quality of those cars are far inferior than other sim titles like Project Cars or Assetto Corsa. And those cars aren't necessary to play in any mode. GT7 exclusive cars such as Vison Granturismo and millenial cars are still affordable after the updates. So the argument of inability to buy expensive cars are not really an issue for race gamers like me.

    What annoys me the most is that PD or Sony doesn't compensate any credits or other rewards after taking so much time on maintenance. They need to realize that we payed 90ish to get the game and pay extra for PS Plus. People focus on the MTX part too much but MTX is just an option in the game. To be fair to PD, the game is worth 9/10. I put 7 because of taking too much time on maintenance and not giving any compensation    … Expand

    The racing part of it is really well done, but the rallying is worse than GT Sport. And of course, the prize drop and roulette are both bad af. If done well, Polyphony could have made this a 10/10 game, but they shot themself in the foot.

    Good sensations and nice graphics. But as a player and customer I can’t deal with an update that make the game more expensive and lower your chance of looting something nice. Bad move.

    The last time I played GT was on PS2 I think? I remember really enjoying it playing with friends. Since I was able to snag a PS5 I wanted to give it a try. I've been playing for about 5 hours and loving it so far. I was worried about needing to be online in order to play but I haven't had any issues yet.

    Listen a lot of people were complaining about the game when it first came out and we had a problem with the update at the time. I think we've all moved past that. It's time to give this game the credit it deserves because it is so much fun and there's so much to do and it's endless to the possibilities

    The problem I found when playing was the poor online server.
    I can't start a race properly and the connection often drops out.
    For me, who thought the biggest attraction of Gran Turismo was the online, the most important thing is to strengthen the servers and improve the lobby.
    Other than that, awesome game.

    Toutes les accusations on été réparé, c'est le gran turismo on l'on débloque le plus de voiture et de loin ! Déjà 100 véhicule en quelques heures de jeux. Bref les joueurs exagére vraiment, ils ont largement rectifier le tire, le jeu est excellent

Elle reste une version intéressante avec des sensations nouvelles et une presentation dingue, mais il me manque le système des Milles de GT SportPour le 25 iem anniversaire je m'attendais a retrouver l'ensemble des véhicules des versions précédente comme la Ford Escort Cosworth ou la SUZUKI ESCUDO Dirt Trial et aussi l'ensemble des circuits historique et surtout des nouveaux comme Imola. Elle reste une version intéressante avec des sensations nouvelles et une presentation dingue, mais il me manque le système des Milles de GT Sport notamment pour acheter des peintures qui sont abominablement chère sur GT7. Il ont conservé la possibilité de créer des livrés et de récupérer certaine livret déjà produite dans GT Sport, je ne sais pas pourquoi certaine livrés ne peuvent pas être récupéré mais associer avec la possibilité de pouvoir réaliser du tuning en plus cela apporte un super complement. J'ai bien aimé le GT Café qui dynamise l'entrée en matière ainsi que les Easter Eggs.… Expand

The racing mechanics are good, responsive and crisp. Handling feels good for the different vehicle types. I like the tuning of the vehicles and the GT auto shop livery editor.     There just aren’t enough in game races and some are just too hard to win even at beginner level.
    The Daily workout of 26.3 miles to get a prize would be great if the prizes were worth it but it seems No matter how many stars you receive you end up with the worst prize. I’ll Bet 9 out of 10 times I end up getting 5000 credits    This game is no where near as fun as the Gran Turismo 6 or Sport.

    What a joke. Disappointing this is the only thriving console multiplayer racing game. Acc is a ghost town. Gt7 graphics are laughable. The scapes movie has to be a joke looks like tech from MK2 with photo backgrounds and your game car floating thru. I play on a ps5 4K screen btw. Single player is a bore but you have to play it to unlock multiplayer car setting like wet tire compound.What a joke. Disappointing this is the only thriving console multiplayer racing game.     I have been playing the GT series for many years starting all the way back in the PS1 era and progressing as they have been released. I have to say, this one has disappointed me the most.

    Visually, the game is stunning. Cars, scenary and weather effects are incredible. Audio wise the game is also doing a great job. Now comes the negative.     Now comes the negative.

    The game simulates driving realistically but doesn't simulate cars very well. A few examples

    F Type Jag, a rear wheel drive car that in Gran Turismo under steers at 30MPH and understeers on full lock with your foot down. I would argue doing this in real life would leave you with a tail happy car spinning in circles :)
    Most of the Mazda models in this game are from a generation with G-Vectoring in real life which have very well balanced steering but again, suffer badly from understeering.
    Ironically, most of the Audi's in this game don't suffer from understeering :)

    Now, I know this might seem rather pedantic to pick up on a car not being 100% realistic but when you factor in how much Polyphony want if you were to purchase these with microtransactions, I would argue the cars should be designed to feel as realistic as possible (or atleast the expensive ones). Most of the cars I drive in this game suffers from under steer (this is with the traction control off and not using brakes around a corner) and all feel very samey to me. For me, I found the cars in this game only really differ on how quickly they go.

    Then there is the move to nerf in-game payouts just after the critical reviews were released, this was a delibirate attempt to boast the quality of the game and then make it nearly unplayable without paying real life money for the vehicles. The story mode is the same as most of the more recent Gran Turismo's, rather fun but not very long or enjoyable. I much preffered the story of GT3 to be honest.

    Since GT7 has now bumped the payouts back up since the onslaught of angry fans I will rate this 5/10. 10/10 for Audio and Visual, 5/10 for gameplay and 1/10 for being anti-consumer with their actions.

    Overall, I feel the game could have had far more single player content and feels like a GFX enchanged version of GT6. The multiplayer is ok but if you are interested in Multiplayer, I would stick with GT Sport (it's pretty much the same).    … Expand

    The game could be more realistic in terms of driving, espacially if compared to games like Assetto Corsa. Also, although the developers have put a great deal of work into it and that reflects on the quality of the cars, sometimes while you play you have the feeling they want to rip you off to make you buy credits using real money.

    I love this game. It's my second favorite car game just under Dirt 2.0. However, I cannot give it the 9 I feel it desserves due to its major flaw: Constant internet connection. Not only you cannot even start the game if the console detects an update, If you were playing and for some reason you lost your connection for just a couple of seconds, the race won't count.     I have loved Gran Turismo since the PS1 days and I think this is another great entry in the series. Gran Turismo has always been more than just a racing game. It is car porn. Gran Turismo 7 continues this tradition. The cars look stunning and are highly detailed inside and out. There is a great line up of diverse cars ready to collect, modify, customise, tune, race, learn about and love. There is an in depth photo mode with its own community to share, like and discuss photos and the same for livery designs too. There is so much here to learn about cars and the history of car makers and it also teaches the broader historical context as well. It is a dream for anyone that likes cars and is easy to get into whether you’re a veteran or newcomer.

    Presentation wise Gran Turismo 7 is outstanding. As I already said cars are super detailed and beautiful. Tracks look great and have plenty of detail too. I like the style and menus. Weather looks good, skies look good, and tire smoke looks good. The game runs well and loads quickly. Sound design is impressive and the music selection is cool. There isn’t much to complain about here. Being a cross gen game I don’t think they pushed everything as far as they could with the PS5, obviously car damage is an area that still needs work but overall though I’m really happy with presentation and performance.

    Gameplay is fun. Cars feel great and they did well making use of the PS5 controller features. Car handling and physics are what you expect. I know when a car is on the limit of grip and when it’s gone beyond that limit. There is a good sense of speed, weight and momentum. I can feel the road and the unevenness of the surface. Weather and puddles of water are done well and greatly impact driving. Tuning is rewarding. The game as a whole is mostly very rewarding, challenging and fun. I enjoyed slowly getting better and improving my times, making my way through the challenges, earning licenses, learning in the circuit experiences and testing myself against others online. There is lots of content here and they have been continuing to add to it. There are some weaknesses like the main campaign, café mode, being underdeveloped and underwhelming and I didn’t get music rally at all.

    Now unfortunately I need to discuss this games big issues and a lot of people will already know what’s coming. Why the hell do I always need to be online for single player? I guess my disc will be useless in the future when it’s all taken down and I’m just screwed anytime I don’t have internet or there is maintenance. Then there is the fact that this game becomes a horrible grind to get and upgrade the more expensive cars. Things start off okay with regular currency and car rewards but once you get further along and everything gets more expensive it just ruins the game. I put around 80 hours in and I would still be playing if not for this bulls**t. Cars are too expensive and rewards are too low so your progress grinds to a halt. This was done on purpose to push people into spending real money on the very over priced in game currency and Gran Turismo 7 is a full priced Sony game too. Why would you do this to your own creation? Imagine making something excellent and then deliberately ruining it. Why would you do this to your brand? Is it really worth it? If you need to make more money off Gran Turismo 7 then find another way, I would rather pay a little extra up front then put up with this crap. Too the people that made these decisions f**k you. To every person that buys this games currency, f**k you for supporting it, get away from videogames you are ruining it for the rest of us.

    Gran Turismo 7 is really enjoyable and well made even with the horrible issues I still got plenty of time out of it. I just wish I could still be playing it and continuing to build my car collection. I would have rated it way higher if not for this and it could have been one of the absolute best PS5 games. I recommend getting Gran Turismo 7 if you’re into cars just don’t buy those expensive micro transactions and know that at some point it will become an awful grind.

    Hugely disappointing. It's too similar to Gran Turismo Sport, the events are poor and the in game economics are a disgrace (although better after 1.09). Also the offline gameplay is a complete joke.

    Grindfest. Micro-transaction cash grab. Lacklustre Daily Races with little variety. Boring Career mode. Tiny amount of new tracks. Gacha rewards where 90% of the time you will get a rubbish award.

    Cars and handling are highlights.

    I love the presentation and racing so much. The graphics are great as well. I'm a PlayStation guy for life but I cannot condone the clear cash grab direction this game is taking. What is on offer without MTX is worthy of a 6 but nothing more due to post cafe racing being hampered so badly due to greed. The fanboys defending are pathetic

All of the good reputation and high standards that Polyphony had set for the past 25 years, completely gone in just a few weeks.

    But now things have changed.

    To start off, I want to say that unfortunately, Gran Turismo 7 has followed the infamous formula of modern game design: Release an online service game unfinished, add content in the following months and years to make it feel more finished, but don't forget to shill microtransactions.

    So what have they changed/added since the last review?

    Cars can now be sold

    More online events (including online time trial, which has a good payout if you get gold)

    Circuit experience gives you a very generous amount of money (Over 50m credits if you get gold on all tracks, which isn't too difficult for most of them)

    2 circuits and a few more layouts to existing tracks

    An extra set of missions (though there hasn't been a new one since April 2022)

    Races give a somewhat reasonable payout (although ~80% of the races are clearly not worth doing if you're just in it for the credits)

    Extra slots in the historic car garage

    They are adding VR support very soon

    With the addition of the Bugatti Chiron not requiring an invitation ticket (despite it being 3 mil), I think this could mean Polyphony are scrapping the invitation system for future high-end cars.

    General bug fixes/UI improvements

    They didn't punish people for doing the free engine ticket exploit which was nice I guess

    Now, here is what still hasn't been fixed/changed:

    Split screen is STILL BROKEN

    Changing the rolling start distance in custom races still doesn't work

    New offline races still use the god-awful long rolling start, where you start at the back and the guy in first is at least past the half-way point of the first lap

    Races that don't use Sophy AI are boring and predictable, the normal AI is so safe and cautious with their overtakes that they will usually get stuck behind much slower cars (even if on a wide track like SSR X)

    AI in custom races always default to using their standard tyres or their best-quality hard compound for some reason (except in dirt and rain). They NEVER use medium or soft unless that's their stock compound.

    Still can't customise menu music, also a shame that a lot of the good music from GT5 and GT6 got cut, even though some tracks from the same artist still remain?

    Custom race and online race payouts are still pathetic (I know you aren't supposed to play those modes for the credits but don't offer almost nothing instead of nothing, because then it feels like we should earn more)

    Rallying physics are still really bad and unsatisfying (although that was the same in GT Sport)

    Overall, it has got a lot better since my last review, but there is still many things to improve on before it becomes a great game like most of its predecessors.

The fact that nowadays, buying physical games does not guarantee you will be able to play the game 10 or so years from now should be a bigger concern in the gaming industry. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of coursed influenced by my personal opinions.

    (9)Superb. Just shy of gaming nirvana, this score is a high recommendation because the game reviewed is head-and shoulders above its competition

    Bad Business Practices
    (-1) Game Economy makes it impossible for a player to unlock all the content of the single player aspect of the game without paying into the microtransactions.
    (-1) Online Only makes it impossible for people without an internet connection to even play the single player part of the game.

    I’m giving this a nine due to its Sports Mode, and Café mode.

    Sports Mode is Gran Turismo’s ranked multiplayer mode. Each week they release 3 new races, and one time travel to compete against everyone in the world. In sports mode you’ll be given a driver’s rating and a sportsmanship ranking to help put people in lobbies of likeminded/skilled racers as you. At first you’ll be constantly changing as the game learns more about you but will eventually stabilize within a month. Two of the three races are based on a certain group of cars that usually cost around 350-450k while the other is based on a specific car which people can change the set-up on. You can always rent a car at no cost to you if you don’t have a car the meets the requirement. My only complaint about Sports mode is that the payout is very small which forces you to make money through Single Player to be able to afford cars in a reasonable amount of time.

    Café Mode is the campaign mode of Gran Turismo. It dives into the history of auto-racing, car types, and car manufactures which is very unique when compared to other racing games. It’s an innovating idea which has the player race/collect certain cars and then they give a 2-5min history lesson. There are a few issues with the Single Player which is that the AI is too easy to beat even on the hardest difficulty and you don’t have the option to qualify.    … Expand

    Over the last couple of weeks there have been some massive up and downs for Gran Turismo, however, people have shared their concerns and I think the developers, for once have listened. The game itself has been killer, but the whole pay to play aspect was one of the biggest scams ever. The latest announcement had got me excited that it's all back on track

    Graphics are nice, but not the best in racing games I would say. It lacks of variety on modes after finishing the campaign. Forcing you to be online to play single player modes is absurd, and the game is designed forcing you to buy credit with real money, embarrassing.

    I just don't understand why it took so long to make this game. GT7 on release day was 5 years old already. I'm big fan of GT. Had every part on every platform. Evolution is needed here. Btw. why there is no quick settings for PP adjust? Waiting for fixes.

    Difficult to buy the few nice cars the game has, the money rewards are low. There are more than 400 cars, but most of them are old and boring. It looks like after patch 1.07 they want you to buy the cars with real money. I have WiFi disconnecting some times, and when it happens, I lose all the race progress or the championship. We need offline play!!

    A shaky start but a year later and it’s the best Gran Turismo ever. Update 1.29 is epic. VR, Grand Valley and a taster of Polyphony’s new AI ‘Sophy’. GT is king once more.

The BIGGEST issue that me and everyone has with the Game are the MACRO-transactions and how they were implemented after launch just for the game to do good in Reviews which is something that's truly illegal and was never done before as far as i know and then reducing the Winning Prices for the Hard Level Races in 1.07 which was something completely stupid since now the easier level races now have bigger winning prices than these events, this is all done with the purpose of making people buy their stupid "Micro"transactions which are probably WAY BIGGER than any other Game that haves them and they even duplicate the Game's full price, yeah, we still have other methods to Grind Credits but if someone doesn't do anything about it, they will make the In-Game Economy even worse than it is right now, someone has to go and sue Sony for making these greedy and shameful practices because like i said earlier, they're not legal at all. To be honest, it's really sad that a Game like Gran Turismo 7 that was made to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Franchise and with a huge potential is getting ruined by terrible decisions like this.    … Expand

    Nunca pensé que le daría un 4 a un Gran Turismo. El principal motivo son los micropagos y la dificultad de conseguir moneda IN GAME. Es absurdo pagar 80 euros por un juego y que te hagan pasar de nuevo por caja (Indefinidamente) Para mi esto le resta 5 puntos y otro punto por que los gráficos cumplen sin más. Es una lástima porque se siente fantástico cada coche, cada mínimo cambio que hagas se traduce en una conducción diferente.

    Edit : 18/03/22 Tras el anuncio de Sony que pondrá aún más difícil conseguir moneda del juego jugando (para que pagues micropagos) paso nota del 4 al 1

    Modo on line ruim, péssimo balanceamento de punição. Roleta de prêmios ridículo, de novo ridículo, parece mais uma punição essa roleta... mais viciada do que cracudo Enfim, grafico bonito e sentimento nostálgico não é o suficiente. Fico triste em avaliar assim, pois na minha infância (gt2) eu ia dormir    Poderia ser muito melhor. Trilha sonora muito ruim, exceto dos menus.

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
