    I think alot of these low reviews are based on last minute last gen cancellation and i get the 30fps isn't great on a ps5 game but it looks great and plays great but suffers from "andromeda" syndrome where people compare it to what came before. its not an arkham game fighting is fun and diffrent you can't say arkhams fighting is great and this is repetitive because arkham was the same 3-4I think alot of these low reviews are based on last minute last gen cancellation and i get the 30fps isn't great on a ps5 game but it looks great and plays great but suffers from "andromeda" syndrome where people compare it to what came before. its not an arkham game fighting is fun and diffrent you can't say arkhams fighting is great and this is repetitive because arkham was the same 3-4 buttons to fight the same couple of guys cosplaying as Joe rogan and shouting "it's the bat". story is really good better than most games I've played this year all the members of the bat family feel diffrent in and out of combat, suits look great and as always they have nailed Alfred. the reveals and twists in the game you can see a mile away especially long time bat fans, stealth whilst in some areas is better than the arkham games in others it's not. if arkham games didn't exist this game would be up there with spiderman 2018 voice actors are good especially Alfred's and nightwing's, story has a great start and end it drops slightly in the middle villans look good and fit in with the twisted city that is gotham its nice to have cars and civilians on the streets no vague weather warnings or evacuations in this game and it has the balls to kill of batman and they did it. what they have done deserves alot of credit IGN gave this game a 5 and gave saints row 2022 a 6 it's strange because except for elden ring so far this year this is the only complete and working game I've played now let's all enjoy it untill Nov 9th when gow obliterates it.… Expand

    This game is much better than reviews led me to believe which is why I’m glad I gave it a chance. The gameplay loop is oddly addicting and it’s fun going around Gotham stopping crimes and interacting with the villains. Some people enjoy playing games and some people just enjoy complaining about them.     This game is one of the most fun I’ve played all year. And I’ve played Elden Ring and Horizon FW. There’s something nice about it’s simplicity and its combat system is just deep enough to be compelling but not tiring. Worth playing but maybe not at $70 if you don’t want to spend or rather spend on something else.     Good story, great action, an excellent environment, fantastic co-op play... and a bad frame rate on consoles somewhat lessen the quality of the experience. Overall, a great game.

    Gotham Knights is a game that has lots of good ideas but performs on none of them well. In it's current form of release, it feels like a game that was rushed out the door without polish and time to make most of it's components work properly.

    Character control
    A big issue this game has is with it's most basic elements, immedietly I noticed that character movement just feels "off". It feels weightless and like it's too fast for the input you're giving it, not being able to jump in a superhero game outside of contextual situations is very strange and is hard to adjust to. Moving around the city does not feel fluid, it feels very awkward most of the time and as a result a large part of the game is not enjoyable. Obstacles I think I can jump over I find out I cannot, sometimes there is a strange slowdown/delay after hopping over a table where the character just awkwardly doesn't move for a couple of seconds, which can be very bad for stealth sections.

    It feels almost as if nobody actually played this game before they released it because it doesn't feel good to play most of the time, which for a superhero game is not good I'm afraid.

    Combat
    The combat is not as bad as some other's have said, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Arkham series this game picks up from (whether the devs like it or not I'm afraid, it will be judged on that series). It introduces momentum abilities which are a good idea in themselves, the problem is sometimes pulling them off can be very hit or miss, for instance sometimes the inputs do not work when expected and it ruins the flow of combat. You do start with a basic moveset which feels crappy but you unlock more as you go, so you do have to give it a chance before you judge too soon.

    Another gripe I have is the tutorial for the timed combat, it is not actually a tutorial, it doesn't teach you anything. It doesn't tell you how you can know if it's a timed strike or not, you just hit the target until it says 5/5 hits. It feels unfinished and it's frustrating that such a big element of the combat is just left to you shrugging your shoulders going "adunno?".

    UI
    The amount of confusing menus and choices made by the devs on this one are strange to contemplate. Lots of menus and popups where I look at them and I actually don't understand them or why they're there. The text is so big it feels like I'm playing a game meant for the visually challenged most of the time, along with pop up boxes taking up a 5th of the screen.

    Framerates/graphics
    Look, it's basically a ps4 game parading itself as a ps5 game. It's locked a 30 FPS and even after the day 1 update it still lags below that sometimes. That might a dealbreaker for you. The graphics themselves are decent, I believe game design beats graphics anyday, look at Elden ring for example.
    It's not going to blow you away but some of the design and art choices are nice.

    Ultimately Gotham knights atm feels like a good game being held back by strange choices and a severe lack of polish and fixes. With patches and large updates this can be the great game it could be, I just hope they continue to make changes it needs. It's not a bad game by any stretch, but it needs serious work moving forward. I would wait for a sale or until they've fixed and improved the feel and fluidity of everything.    … Expand

    Personally I was extremely close to cancelling my pre-order just hours before launch because of my doubts with everything shown and everything left disclosed and possibly hidden in order to get the game released. And while issues like frame rate, specific story beats and enemy variety, I really enjoy playing this game.     It's a refreshing release compared to the same old titles that often get released with a multitude amount of bugs and ends up ruining any momentum the game might have had. I 100% thought this game would show many bugs but didn't happen to run into any. Surprising to say the title I had the least faith on actually delivers on a bug free experience, which is something most developers seem to love not doing.

    The only two complaints I have for the game is of course the stupid frame rate and traversal. Either the frame cap happened because of the quality of the textures and the amount of things on screen for the game to render or just a total lack of optimization. Either way if in a future update they can patch a 60 or even stabilize the frame rate further, I'll be happy. Traversal from the beginning of the game is SLOW to the point that when I unlocked fast travel, that would end up being the main way I got around the city. Grappling is fine but can get a little smoothed out in animations, the main problem comes from the bat-cycle which gets even worse when grouped up with the locked frame rate. Used it only for the first quarter of the game until I got my hero's movement ability's, only ever touching it again for challenges.

    This game is very difficult to recommend due to the vastly different type of game this is in comparison to the games that are being released today. I had much fun playing this and most certainly would love to possible DLC or more game modes apart from the four players PvE experience we get in a month. To those who play this game, try to enter it as if it’s a completely new game that has nothing to do with the batman games that came before it, even if it seems impossible to.    … Expand

    Its solid, ran fine on my older 5 year old system at 1080p and has a lot of fun characters to enjoy.. Not a fan of Batman myself but like the Bat family a lot. The systems are fun the loot is fun and the world feel just right. The combat feels deeper than Arkham series and looks a lot nicer as well, and finally less Rain 24/7..

    Solid 8/10 for me.

    Story is badly structured. Should just have copied Rocksteady’s approach, would have been a far better game.

    Amazing and fun, Gotham Knights looks visually beautiful & stunning. Had a lot of fun playing the Co-op with my little brother. This was definitely a different take from the arkham Series. Some people may like it and others won't. But don't listen to reviews and go give it a try for yourself.

    I’m in love with the game. It’s has its glitches, very few but they do happen, but the crimes all over the city and 4 playable characters with single or coop is what the Batman games always needed and never got. The different costumes and enemy types keep me busy and the story and the rpg elements are a nice touch. Looking forward to wants in store for DLC!

    As for those who actually have money to purchase things and come looking for real reviews, I apologize you have to dig through this muck. There are some good ones sprinkled amongst the dredge, so I’ll be brief. The experience you’ll have with this game is inversely proportional to what your standards were going into it. Don’t compare it to the Arkham series; it ain’t that. Combat isn’t as engaging, and it’s not as sprawling and developed as you’d expect for a AAA “open world RPG”. The story develops nicely but the experience as a whole doesn’t feel fully complete. On the technical side, there are legitimate issues and gripes to be had, especially if you’re on a current gen console (PS5/XBOX Series X/S), in particular the frame rate hovering around 30 or less. I’d recommend this for someone who is a big DC/Batman fan, but waiting for some patches and updates to smooth out problems as well as a price drop, isn’t a bad idea. 7/10 game. 10/10 score to do my minuscule part in offsetting the fundamentalists posing as buying customers.    … Expand

    great game, I can't tear myself away from the premiere! Gotham looks wonderful, the fight is fun and you can't get enough. engaging quests and missions. do not listen to those crazy people who do not tailor but spam because the game has 30fps. on ps5 stably.

    30fps on NEXT GEN CONSOLES, poor graphics (would have been epic in 2012), some fun missions (thank god for these, am i right?), but overall nothing new, mediocre, been there-done that story. Overall very disappointing. Hopefully Suicide Squad game will be much better.

    This game looks good if you stand still but in motion it's very rough. You can no longer glide around Gotham, except if you play Batgirl. The glide ability is so bad, and no fun to control.

    Story:
    the story is alright nothing more. Court of Owls are kinda cool, but feel wasted in this game.

Developers start caring only when you stop paying. As long you pay for the badly made game, they are fine. They don't play these games anyway.

    What's the point of new consoles, if new games are graphically worse and run worse than some older games? Even 2017 games like AC Origins look better than this. Nobody should defend this, because you are DC fan. I'm huge DC fan and that's why i don't support this, because i want better DC games.

    I will make it short. The old Arkham games are still better than Gotham Knights. The world is empty the world is boring. Grinding for items and level up. 30fps not even mentioned. Shortly the game is trash and never 60-80 bugs worth. Sad sad...

    Loving the game, it's different from the Batman games and that means it doesn't get the same old same feeling! Combat is fast and the graphics are good, love the cinematics. I've been a Batman fan all my life so I would have gotten it anyway but I was pleasantly surprised by this.

    I was expecting this game to be terrible especially after the reviews but honestly it's a really fun game. My only problems are the UI & sometimes I'll have frame dips, but for the most part it's worth a try. The game kinda grows on you as you progress & learn your character better, and the city feels more alive then I would've assumed.

Scour a narrative-driven, open world Gotham with random (read: grindy) tasks to take Batman's baton - and hit it repeatedly over the bad guys girls and diverse underground reps committing felonies across town, all the while finding out why the heck Batman had to die by the hand of a supervillain. Go for it if a DC hardcore fan at full price, wait for a sale if a 3rd Person Open World fan with AAA branding.

    The Good:
    Graphics! Gorgeous and far-sighted views of Gotham and fluid enough on PS5 (but: not 60 fps mostly since the views are far and wide...) ... but... [see "bad"]
    Easy to traverse Gotham - ascend and descend buildings, go on patrol on your Bat Cycle etc.
    Open world - go anywhere you want, beat anyone you want over the head... live with the consequences
    Story is well-done and voiceovers are AA (not movie style, but well done)
    The "New Guard" of heroes is pretty different in skill sets and specialisations - although... [see "bad"]
    Rocksteady tried to mix it up and give you some "crime scene investigation" gameplay ... but [see "bad"]

    The bad:
    [Open Gotham...] is big! Which means a huge world to traverse and most of the time getting from A to B to do just some menial "random task" (insert: beat up bad underground mobs) - guidance is only given for the main plot + some "premediated crime" sub tasks - the rest is just grind... literally repeating the one and same sub-missions to get your favorite new DC Knight that next skill.
    [Open Gotham ct'd] - no 60 fps, leave alone more than that.
    They still couldn't manage to make Robin cool - not on them, but if you'd rather play Nightwing than Robin... 'nuff said.
    [Crime Scenes...] - they are just some screwed-on-top "point and click" style adventures - where you often will end up "just clicking stuff and combining random things" to get it over with... not well done at all, but a nice touch.

    The ugly:
    The story might not be your cup of tea, glass of beer, bottle of Kombucha. It is "new guard" / extended universe - sans Batman, sans Commissioner Gordon etc. pp.
    Does get grindy the more you get into it... in a repetitive mediocre way.

    Strength lies in the story (+3). Engaging and puts you in the moment.

    Agility is in the movement mechanics (-1). Some clunky move sets like the traversal and not mantling a wall or not focusing on the right enemy detract from the flow of your superhero movement.

    Charisma looks at the writing (+1). Catch phrases and discussions between characters keep you engaged. The interrogation and the engagement with the story keep you motivated to further progress.

    Perception looks at side content (+2). The Open World shows compassion toward multiplayer and keeps you interested in what you need or are trying to do. You feel like you are doing something toward the end goal and doesn't detract from the experience.

    Luck is about loot and rewards (+1). Collectibles, while tedious in other Arkham games, feel less important, yet give rewarding lore when collected (its not a chore per say). The loot is interesting and plays toward that Action RPG mechanic and feels good.

    Intellect looks at puzzles and level of difficulty (-1). While the game is an action RPG, it does not rely on detective work like the others. Puzzles, like Riddler trophies or crime scenes, don't feel "Batman" worthy. They also feel thrown in. The level of difficulty saves this from a -2. It is not easy enough to press two buttons and survive. There is a level of mastery needed the further in the game you go.

    Endurance looks at length vs. interest (+1). The length is for open world games/ multiplayer fun. You can play for hours doing missions and foiling crime. The main story is engaging and will take you some time, but replay value is also based on which character you play and how you play the game. The ability to play a bit at a time and feel good is great! For those of you with a job or responsibilities, this is a good game to play for short bursts.    … Expand

    Peak of modern gaming is finally here. Huge respect to developers who are making these AAA masterpieces. Story so good, never seen in a game before. Combat, fast as lightning and graphics so good, that this masterpiece can barely run 30fps (mostly 20-24fps). So it's very similar experience to playing GTA 4 in 2008.

    Wow this game is really a hard pill to swallow. Everyone had so much hope for this but one way or another these companies will start listening to fans or they will go out of business. The only reason they are able to creat video games is due to fans so if you screw the consumer it will come back to bite you. Stop with cookie cutter boring half ass games.

    Really don't understand where all the hate and bad reviews this game is getting!! WB Montreal did an amazing job all around!! Gotham City is absolutely stunning, and the gameplay is great! Stop comparing this to the Rocksteady games cause it's not supposed to be one of those! This is a must play to anyone who likes open world RPG's

    The Performance: Don’t even get me started on this. 30fps CAPPED on console. Absolutely unacceptable for a “next gen” only title. That fact that there is no performance mode is disappointing. Even with the capped 30fps, the game still dips below into the low twenties, making the game feel like a slideshow.

    The Story: The story in this game was just “ok.” It certainly wasn’t memorable compared to any of the Arkham games. I won’t go further into this due to spoilers. Surprisingly the story is what carried me through the game.

    The Characters: Just to be clear, I love the concept of a bat family game. Robin, Nightwing, Redhood, and Batgirl are all cool characters, just not in this game. I think the biggest problem for me was their voice acting and their dialogue. A lot of it was very cringey and had terrible delivery. I’m disappointed as Batgirl and Robin are some of my favorite side characters in the comics.

    The Art Style: Once again we have another disappointment on our hands. Everything from the city to the outfits of the characters. Gotham city looks completely uninspired and boring compared to any other depiction we’ve seen in comics, video games, or movies. It just feels like regular city, not Gotham city with its dark gothic atmosphere and architecture. The character art style in this game is also bad. The coolest and most comic accurate skins are locked behind the deluxe edition paywall. In conclusion, I was massively let down with this game. I don’t recommend anyone buy this. Save your money. The performance, the gameplay, and several other factors just make this game so unenjoyable. I hope this review helps.    … Expand

    Gotham knights is a lot of fun! Playing coop with friends is a great time. Ive been a fan of the Arkham series since day one. This is a different experience but extremely fun in its own way! 10/10 would buy

Reminds me of old PS3 games (e.g., Infamous: Second Son). If you turn RT "on" the game is a stutter-fest (RTX3080Ti, R9 5900X).
    On PS5: You are locked at 30 FPS. Enough said.

    Side missions while on patrol become a big chore after the second time. It's always the same setup of enemies and things to do. Same locations. Same tactics. Same objectives. It gets old very quick.

    Combat doesn't help either. It gets monotonous very fast. Other than the nice finishers, there is not much to comment on. It's clunky and doesn't feel fluid. It's just spam "X" until the enemy sponge dies. You even forget that you have a ranged move (range is so short it doesn't matter anyway).

    Traveling also feels like a big chore:
    - The bat-bike mechanics are out of a game released in the early 2000s. Physics are entirely off. To make the world feel "big," they tweaked the bike to go at 40Kmh, while simulating a "wind" effect around the edges of the screen so as to appear that you are going at 350Kmh. The scam is visible as you can barely overtake a bus. Getting anywhere is so sluggish and boring.
    - The hook that you grapple is hit-n-miss. You can use it on specified spots in the world which becomes very annoying when it auto-targets at a place that you are clearly not aiming at. Still, this is probably the only decent way to move around.
    - Gliding/flying is even slower than the bat-bike, which makes it a joke. It also forces your short cape to turn long, which is very ugly.
    - Navigating on foot is weird. There is no jump button and you can only move on objects that the game wants you to.

    Customization is pure marketing. They allow you to craft suits, yet it's basically just 6 different models that simply recycle their stats each time you craft them. You have the option to change the look of some body parts (hands, boots, mask) between 3 options that are so similar you won't even notice. it's there just to promote "character customization". At least you can change colors, if you manage to unlock them before finishing the story. If you unlock the glide ability the game forces on you long capes. There is no option to change them and this has already been an issue on Reddit as people are frustrated not being able to revert it back. Many consider not even unlocking the glide ability to avoid the long cape.

    To top it off, instead of spending time polishing and serving us a finished product, they decided to spent time injecting their "woke" propaganda in the game. It has it all. "Pride" parades and rainbow flags. There are text-messages between the characters in the context of: "Omg the Pride parade is in town. We are bad people if we don't go. We are OBVIOUSLY GOING!!" Paraphilia is being promoted plenty once more. Your politics have no place in our games.

    Overall: The game needs serious patching to optimize it. If it is stable it might be worth half the asking price (~30$). Since nothing else will change (e.g., combat/driving won't change) I can't recommend this unless you get it at 20$-max in a few months if you REALLY want it. By then, it will hopefully be stable and run at AT LEAST 60 FPS.    … Expand

    I’m really enjoying the game so far. I’d probably give the game a 8. If your a Batman fan I think you will enjoy this game. If your not a pretentious fps snob.

    Pros:

    - The story is awesome and starts off with an insane cinematic! It’s dark, intriguing and the various interiors you explore are so beautiful (the villain stories are also a blast to play).

    - Combat is challenging and the hero animations are so damn sweet!

    - Co-op (do I need to say anything more).

    - Probably the first superhero game where you can really impact how you wish to play. You get to pick between 4 very different characters that all have a unique fighting style. You get to choose your outfits and customize your stats to fit your play style.

    My friend and I played all the weekend, about 20 hours, and we love playing coop. The is much better with a friend then single player. Massive problem I have is the 10fps-30fps that ruin the experience for me and gave me a headache. I enjoy the exploration and combat but the fps is bad. The stealth isn't great and is clunky also. Robin is my favorite character.

    The reviews I have seen have been extremely harsh. This game is enjoyable with plenty of objectives to do. Huge amounts of customisation and a compelling story. The traversal could be more streamlined but hasn’t dampened my experience. The combat is fun and diverse.     I don’t understand why this game is getting as much hate as it is. This is my honest review! The story is good for what it is. The side missions are in-depth and enjoyable. The world is amazing! Great to explore for me and Gothem has never looked better. The starting of the game is boring BUT! When you get further into the game it gets a lot better with many different types of enemies,I don’t understand why this game is getting as much hate as it is. This is my honest review!     The game is much better in coop BUT with a friend. It’s not good with a random player! Coop with a friend does make the game shine! With the 30fps it’s ok only really noticeable when you are riding you bike. And I have countered no bugs which is great. I give it 7.4/10 I do believe this game will get better with dlc and improvement with the combat.    … Expand

    I am really enjoying this game. Yes it not perfect but I like the choice to play as 4 characters. The batcycle is far too slow but for everyone banging on about fps I just don't even really notice it. So as for me I'm really enjoying it and im glad i bought it.

The biggest issue I see is the fps being 30 and even dipping at times. For a AAA game it’s not acceptable. I know they said it was due to Xbox specs but if that’s the case then find an alternative. Defective game with no 60fps and terrible optimization that even doesn't hold 30fps and has many technical problems. This could easily work at 60fps but it would require for the devs more time and money for publisher to make necessary optimizations.     Ce sera surement un des fails de l'année 2022. L'open world est vide le jeu est graphiquement moyen le framerate bloqué à 30 fps sur console pas de lock de caméra quand on combat un ennemi. Le jeu a été pensé pour la coop pour évidemment le monétiser à fond. C'est un étron qui suivra le même succès que Marvel Avengers.

    Really great game with surprisingly good grapics to be a open world game, why do some reviews try to be so negative no idea.
    On ps5 it is stabile 30fps and it feels ok to be only 30fps. If you like superhero games you would need this one, better then avengers and guardians.

    I didn't even play the game, but I will give 0 to any game releasing in 30fps. I am from 1990, I played my whole life games with less than 30fps on older platforms, and I just can say that, after you play a game in 60fps+ you just can't go back. It's unacceptable a game for next Gen console that don't offer a quality and a performance mode.

Arkham Knight looks better (a 7 year old game) than a 2022 NEXT GEN EXCLUSIVE GAME.

    The Game:
    Now i know i was diving into the game knowing this had nothing to do with the Arkham Games and the story was OK, the opening was long but was fun to watch (u know batman dying), then everything else was quite forgettable.
    The gameplay was SO **** BORING, The Arkham games had best ways to combat different styles of enemies like if any enermy had a shield you would (jump over them, slide over them, stun them) or enemies with a blade u would (evade them, creating an opening to attack them). This defined the combat standard in videogames (which games like Spider-man 2018, Shadow of Mordor copied) Unfortunantly, the combat in Gottham Knights feels like a god damn MMORPG, the enermy types are the god damn same with a big shield enermy which feels like i need to hault to fight him. "but... BuT ITs NoT An ArKaM Title" YA BUT GOD DAMN IT'S IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO COMPARE IT, because those games were a masterpiece. With the amount of crafting u do, my god it's a literal mobile game. But the thing i will give this game is that the grind isn't bad at all.

    Exploring the world feels DEAD, where are the NPCs?, bro was this during COVID 19 period? my god LMAO. i can walk outside rn and see people, see cars.

    BUT MY GOD WHAT'S WORSE IS THE PERFORMANCE.
    Since i used the PS5, this couldn't keep at a stable 30fps (it dipped as low as 24fps) and many people blaming the Series S for this LMAO. It's just the DEVS BEING INCOMPETENT, they are AAA publishers and you're telling me this couldn't be runned at 60fps, **** **** Give me a reason why this couldn't be on the last gen consoles (no someone tell me why???)
    i cannot speak for PC users, but (from what i've seen) the performance is all over the **** place.

    This game is just soulless, unoptimised mess
    erm 1/10 why??? because batgirl got a nice a$$.

    If you really want to play the game, just wait until it goes on sale if not JUST DON'T BUY THE GAME, this is a game that is $40 MA, $60-$70 (YOU MUST BE OUT OF UR MINDS) or just buy the Arkham Collection

    As bad as the pre reviews had stated. Terrible boring combat system with numbers all over the screen, stealth gameplay is a joke and all of it is in a janky 30fps. City is a ghost town that feels empty and dull. I general it feels like a crappy online free to play game. The worst thing is that it just isn't fun at all, just feels like a half finished online game from last gen. Massive fail.

    Yet another game that was expected to be the second coming but is just good but not excellent. Excellent atmosphere and above average gameplay. Great story and characters. Highly recommended! In a few years will be treated as a classic like Skyrim and Cyberpunk.

De plus, il a pas mal de soucis comme IA, le vide intersidéral de la ville, l'optimisation, un manque d'immersion lié au personnage ou entités peu exploités, une histoire vu et revu que tous le monde est capable de deviner à la fin du jeu.     Doesn't even proper 30 fps on consoles, run in 25 fps on my 3960. The game is optimized like crap. Devs shouldn't get away by putting such a crappy game out there

    no need to put a mode with a 60fps patch, you can't play 21fps on the bike, it really all sucks, no one here is comparing it to Batman Arkham, so it's no use that fanboys keep spamming 10 without sense, because the problem is not that but the fps. and if you complain about this, either you don't have a ps5, or you just switched to ps5 from the switch.

    Don't waste your money on this game.
    No need to compare this game to the Arkham series it cant stand on its own two feet!

    The game is not bad and serves you a lot. You want a hero? You have four. Want big missions? Usually you have about three going at once. You want side missions? You've got a city full of them. Which doesn't mean it's a great game. Just good and solid. [Issue#323]

    Not being content with being one of the most soulless products released under the Warner Bros. label, it is also extremely underwhelming from a technical point of view. Gotham Knights was originally developed as a multi-gen title, but PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions got cancelled. Despite this, the visuals underwhelm and fail to impress and manage to look worse than the last major Batman instalment released seven years prior. Capping at a mere 30fps might be excusable if this boasted the most cutting edge visuals on the market, but it manages to look cheap and dated. For a AAA production from Warner Bros., this should have been a visual tour de force, with top writing talent, and have evolved the gameplay to compete with its contemporaries. Maybe it can be salvaged over time with updates, but currently it's one of the most droll and sloppily designed triple-A products of 2022.

    Gotham Knights would be a great game, its sandbox approach to exploring Gotham is top-notch and its story keeps you just engaged enough to keep playing. The problem lies in the game’s lackluster combat and endless fighting cycles of beating up the same factions over and over and over with little to no variation to dialogue.
