    Not a very good game at full price of $70. It has a lot of grind in the beginning and several mechanics to extend the playtime. There are only several missions every night, and you need to go back to the belfry to advance a new night for more missions, and then you have to grind for every character.     We are on next-gen consoles, we are in 2022. And we just got a next-gen game, BARELY running 30fps.
    God of War Ragnarok is coming out soon, and it has a 120fps option. That is 4x the fps of Gotham Knights. And Gotham Knights is empty, no civilians or pedestrians, same copy-paste buildings. God of War has crazy amount of details. This is just not good enough.

    What's the point of new consoles, if new games are graphically worse and run worse than some older games? Even 2017 games like AC Origins look better than this. Nobody should defend this, because you are DC fan. I'm huge DC fan and that's why i don't support this, because i want better DC games.

    This is backwards compatibility at it's finest! 30fps on next-gen console? Nice! Makes you feel, like playing 2013 game, but only available on Next gen consoles!

Gaming has never been as bad, as it is today and that's a fact. In 2000-2010, there were 5-10 masterpieces every single year. Every year. But now? You get lucky to have one or two Good Games.     Peak of modern gaming is finally here. Huge respect to developers who are making these AAA masterpieces. Story so good, never seen in a game before. Combat, fast as lightning and graphics so good, that this masterpiece can barely run 30fps (mostly 20-24fps). So it's very similar experience to playing GTA 4 in 2008.

    Why are people still trying to defend stuff like this? Don't you feel insulted by absolute lack of care by the developers? If you pay 70 dollars for this, you are part of the problem. Developers start caring only when you stop paying. As long you pay for the badly made game, they are fine. They don't play these games anyway.

    30fps on NEXT GEN CONSOLES, poor graphics (would have been epic in 2012), some fun missions (thank god for these, am i right?), but overall nothing new, mediocre, been there-done that story. Overall very disappointing. Hopefully Suicide Squad game will be much better.

Let me remind you, city has hardly any traffic, you are lucky to spot a car. Hardly any people walking around and it can barely run 30fps, if you drive fast it goes to 25fps and sometimes has random lag as well even just walking around orThis might be one of the worst optimizations in AAA gaming, ever.     This could have been a great game, they have new characters and story to bring a refreshing new taste to dinner, but the studio ruined it. The very core fighting mechanics that makes a Batman game, a Batman game, is gone. No more counter and punch, its now a dull evade and punch. If Montreal studios would have done what Santa Monica studios did with God of War, they would have pure gold.This could have been a great game, they have new characters and story to bring a refreshing new taste to dinner, but the studio ruined it. All Montreal had to do was leave the fighting mechanics and just polish it, they could have tuned the fighting for robin, batgirl, etc to give a different fighting experience for each, but instead they decided to give a grand theft auto fighting feel to it and changed the counter move Batman does with an evade move, they completely ruined the game. They lock you out of any means od travel through the air at the beginning and you think, ok ill just have to unlock it. This is still more enjoyable than Marvels Avengers in which that game is a grind fest and in that many of the cosmetic suits are locked behind a paywall.     I originally gave this game a higher score because I wanted to like it. However, after finishing the main campaign, I give it a lower score.

    WHY WOULD THEY CHANGE THE COMBAT?

    WHY?!

    Story is mediocre. It would have been fine if they didn’t change the combat system from something so fun to whatever the hell it is now.

    Finished the game, IK the performance is terrible at optimization, but yeah the game story was good and somewhat immersive. I also would love to see they bring Batman back in a DLC to play. The four characters are totally unique and have the potential to make them different.     I let critical reviews put me off for a long time and only recently got it on sale, game is actually pretty good and I’m surprised with the negativity. Maybe with the patches to date it’s improved things, but even so there’s a lot of great things that would have been in the game from release day that we’re sold short.

Not to mention the RPG elements in the game just don’t work. These type of Batman    Wow. Where to begin. Let me start off by saying what a massive disappointment this game was. Not to mention the RPG elements in the game just don’t work. These type of Batman games don’t function well with RPG elements. Damage numbers and level scaling is absolutely ridiculous. This game loves to level gate players from certain missions. It almost forces you into “grinding” the open world to level up.

    The Performance: Don’t even get me started on this. 30fps CAPPED on console. Absolutely unacceptable for a “next gen” only title. That fact that there is no performance mode is disappointing. Even with the capped 30fps, the game still dips below into the low twenties, making the game feel like a slideshow.

    The Story: The story in this game was just “ok.” It certainly wasn’t memorable compared to any of the Arkham games. I won’t go further into this due to spoilers. Surprisingly the story is what carried me through the game.

    The Characters: Just to be clear, I love the concept of a bat family game. Robin, Nightwing, Redhood, and Batgirl are all cool characters, just not in this game. I think the biggest problem for me was their voice acting and their dialogue. A lot of it was very cringey and had terrible delivery. I’m disappointed as Batgirl and Robin are some of my favorite side characters in the comics.

    The Art Style: Once again we have another disappointment on our hands. Everything from the city to the outfits of the characters. Gotham city looks completely uninspired and boring compared to any other depiction we’ve seen in comics, video games, or movies. It just feels like regular city, not Gotham city with its dark gothic atmosphere and architecture. The character art style in this game is also bad. The coolest and most comic accurate skins are locked behind the deluxe edition paywall. In conclusion, I was massively let down with this game. I don’t recommend anyone buy this. Save your money. The performance, the gameplay, and several other factors just make this game so unenjoyable. I hope this review helps.    … Expand

There’s something nice about it’s simplicity and its combat system is just deep enough to be compelling but not tiring. Worth playing but maybe not at $70 if you don’t want to spend or rather spend on something else. The gameplay loop is oddly addicting and it’s fun going around Gotham stopping crimes and interacting with the villains. Some people enjoy playing games and some people just enjoy complaining about them. Arkham Knight looks better (a 7 year old game) than a 2022 NEXT GEN EXCLUSIVE GAME.

    The Game:
    Now i know i was diving into the game knowing this had nothing to do with the Arkham Games and the story was OK, the opening was long but was fun to watch (u know batman dying), then everything else was quite forgettable.
    The gameplay was SO **** BORING, The Arkham games had best ways to combat different styles of enemies like if any enermy had a shield you would (jump over them, slide over them, stun them) or enemies with a blade u would (evade them, creating an opening to attack them). This defined the combat standard in videogames (which games like Spider-man 2018, Shadow of Mordor copied) Unfortunantly, the combat in Gottham Knights feels like a god damn MMORPG, the enermy types are the god damn same with a big shield enermy which feels like i need to hault to fight him. "but... BuT ITs NoT An ArKaM Title" YA BUT GOD DAMN IT'S IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO COMPARE IT, because those games were a masterpiece. With the amount of crafting u do, my god it's a literal mobile game. But the thing i will give this game is that the grind isn't bad at all.

    Exploring the world feels DEAD, where are the NPCs?, bro was this during COVID 19 period? my god LMAO. i can walk outside rn and see people, see cars.

    BUT MY GOD WHAT'S WORSE IS THE PERFORMANCE.
    Since i used the PS5, this couldn't keep at a stable 30fps (it dipped as low as 24fps) and many people blaming the Series S for this LMAO. It's just the DEVS BEING INCOMPETENT, they are AAA publishers and you're telling me this couldn't be runned at 60fps, **** **** Give me a reason why this couldn't be on the last gen consoles (no someone tell me why???)
    i cannot speak for PC users, but (from what i've seen) the performance is all over the **** place.

    This game is just soulless, unoptimised mess

    If you really want to play the game, just wait until it goes on sale if not JUST DON'T BUY THE GAME, this is a game that is $40 MA, $60-$70 (YOU MUST BE OUT OF UR MINDS) or just buy the Arkham Collection

The only reason they are able to creat video games is due to fans so if you screw the consumer it will come back to bite you. Stop with cookie cutter boring half ass games.

    9 year wait for this garbage! Terrible performance issues, bugs, shallow gameplay, loot/Grind gameplay is horrible, dialogue is horrendous. Boring lifeless open world. Beaten by every single Arkham game from decades ago.

    Doesn't even proper 30 fps on consoles, run in 25 fps on my 3960. The game is optimized like crap. Devs shouldn't get away by putting such a crappy game out there

    30 fps on PS5 is this a joke WB Montreal, GOW ragnorok has even a 120fps mode with a 2.1 HDMI cable, this game is so poorly optimized I wished it got delayed more so they could've added atleast a 60fps proformance mode.

Half baked graphics, 14 hour long main story with no side content, janky controls that feel like ps3 era, can’t even run a stable 30 frames (constantly dips below 20), and a DISGUSTINGLY predictable storyline. This is a free to play game at best. Save your money.

    I’m in love with the game. It’s has its glitches, very few but they do happen, but the crimes all over the city and 4 playable characters with single or coop is what the Batman games always needed and never got. The different costumes and enemy types keep me busy and the story and the rpg elements are a nice touch. Looking forward to wants in store for DLC!

    Can't compete with the brilliance of the Arkham games in terms of story or voice acting, but this is an ok game worth picking up when it's on a deep discount. This could have been a great game but there's so many weird camera angles and swinging around the city is clunky and makes you miss the Arkham games or Spiderman which are beautiful.     After spending 50+ hours in this game, I can safely say the critics are wrong about this one. It is very similar to Marvels Spiderman games, mixed with elements of Destiny. Combat is a blast and Gotham is so much fun to navigate around. The story is great too.

You can alter the method in which you encounter enemies. You can cheese the game, or be meticulous and see the hard work the development team put into the animations and feedback. The combat in my opinion, though similar to spider man minus the floaty maneuvers, is fun in its own right. It’s flashy, has some decent variety in enemy types and crimes, and just has not gotten boring for me. The story is interesting. It’s engaging, it feels decently rooted in the city you run around in. A city I’m aiming to 100% just like Spider-Man. It’s a comic book game, don’t get me wrong, but it wears this on its sleeve and still manages to at least touch on the multi-dimensional layers a human can have. The game knows it’s gritty, nonsensical, and flashy. The characters even know this. The suits and color ways are absolutely mint to go through and wear out on the town. I mainly main Red-Hood but can be quite honest when I’ve found myself losing time with the other characters and their options. It’s steeped in variety and gives incentive to actually wear the new gear you craft or catch (unlike Avengers/Marvel’s Numbers) I’m still randomly swapping out suits for either elemental reasons, critical chance reasons, or style; often the game aligns all three of these at once in a suit for me. I’m in love.

    Is it worth it for 70$?? I don’t think most games are without a decent amount of support for the game given after launch. As for right now, without the optimization rolled out, gauntlet mode released, or possible DLCs mentioned, I’d only recommend this game for about $45-$55 range. I think the developers should definitely reap the rewards of their efforts but I, like most, worry about my own financial/enjoyment situation more than I do being persuasive. It’s a fun game. More fun if you love the characters. Story holds onto you, world is just flashy and interesting enough to keep you, combat feels very open to many styles. Worth it for me!! 81/100    … Expand

    So much to say, but the main issue for me is the lack of 60fps on a latest gen game. Completely unplayable unless you like eye strain and headaches. If you have an older tv then this might be the game for you.

Either don't revive batman or let him STAY alive, the way they did it just makes you so disappointed. FPS kinda sucks but it's mostly fine. The gameplay is great and I've seen many reviews on YouTube that say the gameplay repetitive but it's not. The city was made well but there aren't very enticing incentives for exploring it. Also the Nighthood suits (the best suits in the game) being only transmogs was disappointing too as colorways can't be applied to transmogs, not to mention that they dont have cowl, symbol, glove, or shoe options. The same goes for the **** suits that are locked behind DLC. The stealth is very well done and the combat system using momentum bars works very well. Also the skills unlocked via the ability trees neither make you seem too overpowered, nor do they seem meaningless. btw fire whoever designed Jason Todd's hoodie strings… Expand

    I though the pacing was very slow, running is slow, combat is slow, the motorcycle is kinda slow and janky and you have to unlock the gliding hability. This seems to me like a trick to make the game last longer. Story is fine. AI ia not very smart. The chapters structure doesn't seem to make that much sense to me, but it's not really a problem. visuals are not really next gen.

    Ce sera surement un des fails de l'année 2022. L'open world est vide le jeu est graphiquement moyen le framerate bloqué à 30 fps sur console pas de lock de caméra quand on combat un ennemi. Le jeu a été pensé pour la coop pour évidemment le monétiser à fond. C'est un étron qui suivra le même succès que Marvel Avengers.

    On PS5: You are locked at 30 FPS. Enough said.

    Side missions while on patrol become a big chore after the second time. It's always the same setup of enemies and things to do. Same locations. Same tactics. Same objectives. It gets old very quick.

    Combat doesn't help either. It gets monotonous very fast. Other than the nice finishers, there is not much to comment on. It's clunky and doesn't feel fluid. It's just spam "X" until the enemy sponge dies. You even forget that you have a ranged move (range is so short it doesn't matter anyway).

    Traveling also feels like a big chore:
    - The bat-bike mechanics are out of a game released in the early 2000s. Physics are entirely off. To make the world feel "big," they tweaked the bike to go at 40Kmh, while simulating a "wind" effect around the edges of the screen so as to appear that you are going at 350Kmh. The scam is visible as you can barely overtake a bus. Getting anywhere is so sluggish and boring.
    - The hook that you grapple is hit-n-miss. You can use it on specified spots in the world which becomes very annoying when it auto-targets at a place that you are clearly not aiming at. Still, this is probably the only decent way to move around.
    - Gliding/flying is even slower than the bat-bike, which makes it a joke. It also forces your short cape to turn long, which is very ugly.
    - Navigating on foot is weird. There is no jump button and you can only move on objects that the game wants you to.

    Customization is pure marketing. They allow you to craft suits, yet it's basically just 6 different models that simply recycle their stats each time you craft them. You have the option to change the look of some body parts (hands, boots, mask) between 3 options that are so similar you won't even notice. it's there just to promote "character customization". At least you can change colors, if you manage to unlock them before finishing the story. If you unlock the glide ability the game forces on you long capes. There is no option to change them and this has already been an issue on Reddit as people are frustrated not being able to revert it back. Many consider not even unlocking the glide ability to avoid the long cape.

    To top it off, instead of spending time polishing and serving us a finished product, they decided to spent time injecting their "woke" propaganda in the game. It has it all. "Pride" parades and rainbow flags. There are text-messages between the characters in the context of: "Omg the Pride parade is in town. We are bad people if we don't go. We are OBVIOUSLY GOING!!" Paraphilia is being promoted plenty once more. Your politics have no place in our games.

    Overall: The game needs serious patching to optimize it. If it is stable it might be worth half the asking price (~30$). Since nothing else will change (e.g., combat/driving won't change) I can't recommend this unless you get it at 20$-max in a few months if you REALLY want it. By then, it will hopefully be stable and run at AT LEAST 60 FPS.    … Expand

    Bad controls, bad gameplay feel in general, a city without life our a sensation of progress and a lack of options in PC and specially consoles, no 60fps option, or VRR option.

    Bad product in general and horrible legacy for BA games.

    Don't waste your money on this game.
    No need to compare this game to the Arkham series it cant stand on its own two feet!

    -The traversal is awful, only batgirl has a good traversal movement.
    -The dialogue is off, there are awkward silences between takes and the script is just lazy.
    -The story is predictable. Since the first cutscene you know who is pulling the strings.
    And last, Batman/Bruce Wayne is made as a suicidal, bland character.

    Wait for a sale before you touch this game. It is not worth your hard earn money    … Expand

Defective game with no 60fps and terrible optimization that even doesn't hold 30fps and has many technical problems. This could easily work at 60fps but it would require for the devs more time and money for publisher to make necessary optimizations.     As bad as the pre reviews had stated. Terrible boring combat system with numbers all over the screen, stealth gameplay is a joke and all of it is in a janky 30fps. City is a ghost town that feels empty and dull. I general it feels like a crappy online free to play game. The worst thing is that it just isn't fun at all, just feels like a half finished online game from last gen. Massive fail.

    I didn't even play the game, but I will give 0 to any game releasing in 30fps. I am from 1990, I played my whole life games with less than 30fps on older platforms, and I just can say that, after you play a game in 60fps+ you just can't go back. It's unacceptable a game for next Gen console that don't offer a quality and a performance mode.

    great game, I can't tear myself away from the premiere! Gotham looks wonderful, the fight is fun and you can't get enough. engaging quests and missions. do not listen to those crazy people who do not tailor but spam because the game has 30fps. on ps5 stably.

    The game is not bad and serves you a lot. You want a hero? You have four. Want big missions? Usually you have about three going at once. You want side missions? You've got a city full of them. Which doesn't mean it's a great game. Just good and solid. [Issue#323]

    Not being content with being one of the most soulless products released under the Warner Bros. label, it is also extremely underwhelming from a technical point of view. Gotham Knights was originally developed as a multi-gen title, but PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions got cancelled. Despite this, the visuals underwhelm and fail to impress and manage to look worse than the last major Batman instalment released seven years prior. Capping at a mere 30fps might be excusable if this boasted the most cutting edge visuals on the market, but it manages to look cheap and dated. For a AAA production from Warner Bros., this should have been a visual tour de force, with top writing talent, and have evolved the gameplay to compete with its contemporaries. Maybe it can be salvaged over time with updates, but currently it's one of the most droll and sloppily designed triple-A products of 2022.

    Gotham Knights would be a great game, its sandbox approach to exploring Gotham is top-notch and its story keeps you just engaged enough to keep playing. The problem lies in the game’s lackluster combat and endless fighting cycles of beating up the same factions over and over and over with little to no variation to dialogue.
