    The game is overhated as hell. It’s not perfect but a solid 7/10. I feel the only reason people hate it is because of the Arkham comparisons. 90% of the problems can be fixed with a simple update

    This game is everything to me, we get to experience the members of the bat family to know how useful and powerful they can be!
    With patches, updates and DLCs, this game will be 10/10!

    Not bad game. i enjoyed actually better than Saints row. The graphics are good. I don't feel 30fps and I don't understand the 0 and 1s. I think if anyone played the game would just be fair and know it can not be a 1. The story is short but the three side missions are great. It's no GTA for sure but it has its own vibe. People are being too harsh on it saying devs are not trying their bestNot bad game. i enjoyed actually better than Saints row. The graphics are good.     This Game is absolutely brilliant. The story is heartfelt ,funny and overall just wonderful. Playing this game alongside my boyfriend has been an absolute joy and seeing the interaction between our two characters (Barbara and Jason) has been some of my favourite gaming moments. This game was worth the hype for me. The game was really made for the fans of the comics and the Batman universeThis Game is absolutely brilliant.     Disappointing, and I really wanted to love it. If you've not played the Batman Arkham video game series, do yourself a favor and go play that instead. Every game in that series is orders of magnitude better than this one

    I'll break down why I give this game a 4.

    Graphics - There is a video in the wild that is gaining popularity comparing this game with Arkham Knight. It's pretty clear that the game from 7 years ago is graphically superior, which is odd. Beside the much ballyhooed lack of 60 FPS in a current generation game, there are a lot of quirks in the game's physics engine whose oversight is    I'll break down why I give this game a 4.

    Graphics - There is a video in the wild that is gaining popularity comparing this game with Arkham Knight. It's pretty clear that the game from 7 years ago is graphically superior, which is odd. Beside the much ballyhooed lack of 60 FPS in a current generation game, there are a lot of quirks in the game's physics engine whose oversight is baffling. Red Hood's hoodie drawstrings famously stick straight out at a 90 degree angle, Batgirl's cape hangs limply over one shoulder while she blasts down the road on the Batcycle, etc. You can't put out tripe like this and then also throw a $70 price tag on it. Further, Gotham City itself is devoid of almost all life. Civilians exist but you will likely only see 3-4 at a time, if that.

    Controls - I've been playing video games for just over 40 years now, and I can say that Gotham Knights' controls are some of the worst I've encountered. There's no way to lock onto enemies so you often end up attacking randomly. The camera gets stuck on objects so you end up attacking nothing. Your character will come to a full sudden stop if they come close to any object higher than their foot. Interacting with objects like computers or boxes requires that you be in a precise range and face the object square on, otherwise you only see that you can interact with the object but not do anything with it (despite the fact that it is only six inches to your left). You are often left traveling around using the grapple gun, and the game has almost no logic as to where you will fire. Want to go straight up? Maybe you can, maybe not. Want to jump across the street towards an objective? Maybe you fire backwards or straight up instead. Extremely frustrating.

    Game play - The basic game play loop is just that...basic. Light and heavy melee, light and heavy ranged attacks, and a dodge. That's it. No parry, no cool gadgets beyond your chosen characters' ranged weapon. You can grab enemies once you've weakened them for some strikes or a throw which does no damage on its own. You have "Momentum" moves that let you use new attacks, but are fairly useless as they often only delete one or two enemies. The gear system is nice for the character customization, but other than that, it is just another chore. Travel is done via either the aforementioned grapple gun, which is terrible, or by Batcycle, which is nearly as bad. You can run over the few citizens you see with no consequence. Hitting a wall or another vehicle has no consequence other than bringing you to a sudden halt. The Batcycle is what I would expect to see in a $5 shovelware title, not an alleged AAA game. There a lot of "challenges" to finish but they are virtually all the same thing. There are collectibles as well, but between how numerous they are, how lifeless the city is, and how bland the gameplay is, I don't know how anyone can stomach collecting them all.

    All in all, this one is a huge disappointment. There are a LOT of QOL improvements that could be made to maybe get this one another point, maybe two, but at its core, Gotham Knights is just not a good game. I don't know that I can recommend it even when it inevitably goes on sale.    … Expand

    I am a huge fan of the Arkham series games and the world of Batman in general. I paid 35 dollars for this game while on sale and it feels like I paid too much. It looks and feels cheaply made in comparison to previous Arkham games I’ve loved. Everything about it feels like less; The visuals. The details. The UI. The movement and fighting. The wash and repeat of how you go out each night.I am a huge fan of the Arkham series games and the world of Batman in general. I paid 35 dollars for this game while on sale and it feels like I paid too much. It looks and feels cheaply made in comparison to previous Arkham games I’ve loved. The repeated bad guy skins and audio. I’d rather replay Arkham Knight from 2015 again honestly. I really thought I’d appreciate this one with the discount I paid but it’s just not a good game.     What I like most about Gotham Knights is how it feels like a day in the life of a vigilante. I enjoyed the to do list of missions and the freedom to take on different adventures anyway I pleased. It made me feel responsible for a city and gave me a sense of emersion. The combat was very familiar from the latest Batman and Spiderman video games, and I had a blast crafting and collectingWhat I like most about Gotham Knights is how it feels like a day in the life of a vigilante.     I played it hoping it'd be better than on release but this is the sort of bad game that can't be fixed with patches. Clunky fighting, boring dialogue and dreadful enemies. Boss fights are the worst part with them being pure damage sponges. Avoid at all costs

I preordered it knowing it wasn't a continuation of the Arkham series, and instead knew it was a new spin. I've currently done all the Mr.Freeze, Clayface, and Harley side quests and am about level 25. I've seen really no glitches, the combat is more arpg like than the Arkham series. The storyline is compelling and has me wanting to play more. People complaining about the 30fps have either not been gaming long or haven't done the homework. Even on a maxed PC the game drops fps.… Expand

    GK is far more fun to play than many of the reviews might suggest. For myself it took around 20-25 hrs to complete all the story quests and max out a single character. Overall I felt the story and graphics were the strongest points. The gameplay often felt slow and imprecise with a sort of 'tacked on' RPG system at play.
    The open world looks great but the streets are extremely empty with little to do beyond the basic busywork. In many ways the open world gameplay loop reminded me of older titles like mafia 2, watch dogs and sleeping dogs only with the 'looter shooter'' mechanics added into it.

    Overall I felt the same sort of weird disconnect between the story and the open world sections was similar to Spiderman ps4. If you liked that I would say this will appeal to you. If you you can get it on a discount and have a friend with this too, it's a great multiplayer campaign experience overall.    … Expand

    i don't understand the bad reviews...30fps? sure..but it's not like it's a new thing today. Gotta say i enjoy this game way more then i enjoyed God of War Ragnarok. Yes it is a bit like the Ubisoft formula..only i enjoy playing it here. Was one of the most fun i had after Elden ring

    Far, far better game than the credit it received at launch. Take away the whole Batman theme and it's a decent open world action game. Smooth combat, excellent visual detail, solid animation and a half decent story. Unfortunately the 30fps console versions and technical issues at launch killed it. On a decent PC and with the updated patches and at £17 (I paid in the epic Xmas sales) it's aFar, far better game than the credit it received at launch. Take away the whole Batman theme and it's a decent open world action game. Smooth combat, excellent visual detail, solid animation and a half decent story. Unfortunately the 30fps console versions and technical issues at launch killed it. On a decent PC and with the updated patches and at £17 (I paid in the epic Xmas sales) it's a bargain,fun and enjoyable video game. I am comfortably ranging between 60 and 120fps with native 4K and Ray Tracing on...using a 4080 and even with my previous 3080 I would generally hit 60 with no RT at 1440p. Ignore the console nonsense and if you have a good PC and it's on sale it's a decent game...and you can feel the detail in the visuals...audio and combat.… Expand

    This game is not nearly as bad as people will have you believe. Combat, while not Arkham, is still pretty fun and the story is really good. Customization is also pretty good. It’s definitely not a top of the line AAA game, but there’s still a lot to enjoy. Solid 7/10, definitely worth it if it’s on sale

    this game is really disappointing. it has pretty cutscenes but gameplay is lacking. two combat buttons and the combat trees dont feel that rewarding to invest all your time into. i wouldnt bother unless you are a really big fan of these characters.

    More then decent game now after the latest update the game runs great still has some mem. leaks prob after a while but way way better then it was at launch at least.
    Gameplay its not bad (even if not on par with Arkham Knights) also the visuals are great .
    Not a top game but still a 7.7/10 fun to play the city looks great in 4K with RT ON.

    Don't buy this. This game runs at 30fps barely, gameplay is awful, characters and voice acting is bad, story was the only thing acceptable in this game, if you're a big batman fan and Gotham in general, this game is a big trap for a bad experience.

Todo está genial hecho y si eres fan de los superhéroes o de DC lo recomiendo, lo único que no me ha molado tanto, son los niveles, sin niveles creo que hubiera estado mejor, pero es un juegazo y me ha encantado

    The previous chapters had a very funny combat system. Why change it? This game is boring, if you played the various Batman before. Tried but immediately returned to Steam.

    I wasn't that bothered with the frame rate or graphics. The city looked nice, the story is OK, and I actually enjoyed the different suits you can craft for each character. It was a fun premise to play with the bat family. The problem for me was the gameplay and combat which felt clunky, slow, and repetitive. I'm not sure why they decided to do a button smasher vs the incredibly fun thatI wasn't that bothered with the frame rate or graphics. The city looked nice, the story is OK, and I actually enjoyed the different suits you can craft for each character. It was a fun premise to play with the bat family. The problem for me was the gameplay and combat which felt clunky, slow, and repetitive.     There are performance issues. The gameplay can be difficult to adjust to if you've played the Arkham games and in fact plays a lot closer to the Spider-Man game on PS4. There are things you have to unlock in the game that you should just start the game with. However, once you've played for a few hours and gotten used to everything, the game is actually quite fun.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Big DC fan. Love the comics/graphic novels and a lot of the animated films. This game was a wasted opportunity in almost every way. Even with that said, it wasn't unplayable and had some (a few) satisfying moments.

    The story had its moments. However (SPOILER) it was clearly only half thought out. The Court of Owls was the big tease, but the story suddenly shifts over to the League of Shadows 3/4 into the game and the Court of Owls becomes insignificant. To kill Bruce Wayne is ballsy. To kill Bruce Wayne, bring him back in the last mission, then kill him off again is lazy and borderline disrespectful to the player.

    The main characters - Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl, and Robin - had potential but their arcs could probably be reduced to a 5 minute cut scene to cover the entirety of the game.

    Customization is okay surface level/dated. Half of the skills are a waste. The only characters with different combat styles are Red Hood's pistols (purely aesthetic) and Robin's heavy takedown.

    My biggest complaint isn't graphics or framerate... it's the gameplay. They tried to do free running system where you hold X as you move to maneuver obstacles, but it only works about 1/3 of the time. If I had $1 for every time - after only one playthrough - I ran into a minor obstacle (ceiling exhaust fan or even a 1-2 ft elevation change) and my character completely stopped, killing my momentum, taking me out of the game, and forcing me to clunkily turn around to walk away then awkwardly walk around the obstacle, I'd probably have enough money to almost recoup the money I spent on the game (admittedly, got it on sale).

    The combat is not fluid, but I'm not sure why. It legitimately seems random. Sometimes I point and click the button, and my character flies across the room to engage the next target. Other times, my character just turns around and punches/kicks the air - completely halting any momentum.

    All of the side activities seem pointless. The Mr. Freeze, Clayface, and Harley Quinn side quests have nothing to do with the story (besides the beginning of Harley Quinn's) and seem shoehorned into the game just to bring in more familiar faces. The time trials for each character and the bike don't improve traversal in any way, just unlock new aesthetics. Collecting clues is pointless after the first few story missions. Contact quests are rinse/repeat, infinite grind that game developers need to quit confusing for engaging content. Most wanted is completely random and seems to be more about quantity than quality with respect to additional gameplay. I haven't tried heroic assault, but it looks grindy when I looked it up online.

    This version of Gotham would be a lot more interesting if traversal wasn't so awful (the bike mechanics are garbage - driving feels, sounds, and looks off, the turn radius sucks, drifting seems to be broken, and collisions are awkward (do we have a forcefield that protects both the bike and whoever I hit?). Also, for everyone who complained about Gotham not feeling "alive" in the Arkham games... this Gotham is no better. For a large urban metropolis, the streets feel empty.

    Not worth $70. I'd only recommend it at around $20 and only if 1) the player is a big DC fan and 2) the player wants to try something new instead of replaying the Arkham series.    … Expand

The story is engaging and the adds detective elements make it stand out from games like PS4 Spider-Man and Arkham Knight. IMO I’m enjoying the game more than I did Spider-Man.     Performance wise the game launched (and still is) in a disastrous state, I’m on a 4090 and this is the most choppy game experience I had in years. Ray tracing is broken, VRR doesn’t work, and you can’t get a stable 60 fps performance even at 720p / lowest settings even on the most powerful of rigs. This is just ridiculous and this game deserve to fail

    Well this is developed by some high reputation companies like QLOC and Warner bros, but I expected so much more! I bought these with a discount and I am glad I did not pay full price! I deleted the game in a second! if PSN had a refund policy these game companies would think twice before releasing everything they see with false advertisement!

    I didn't want to buy it because of the reviews until the price dropped at the end of the year and I bought it. The truth is that I am enjoying it and the story seems very good. The graphics are not a disaster, they are good but obviously not like other games. I would give it a 10 but because of some little things about the gameplay I give this an 8.

That is a great saying for this game everyone is giving it a zero just because of 30 fps, but if it were to have more then graphics would not be as good. It also has a pretty cool story and fun combat. This game I would recommend if you are looking for a fun game to play.

    Really feels like a last gen title. EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 ultra, and the stuttering is unbearable! Game lacks any sort of polish to it and feel like another generic rushed out cash grab. And to top it off, pre-rendered cut scenes?!!!! Come on WB Montréal, you should know better.

The last major point ofIt's ok. I'll first list the things I didn't like and partially annoyed me, afterwards the good things of the game. First of, its looks aren't as good as the could be. Secondly, Gotham seems desolate and the collectables aren't any fun to collect. The game is indeed pretty repetitive and combat techniques aren't as impressive as the ones in other games like this. The last major point of criticism is that the traveling combined with the already listed desolate Gotham is pure boredom, it's again really no fun at all.

    Now, finally the things I really like and appreciate about this game. The story lies in the average but the whole backstory of every character is impressively detailed and really heartwarming for true Batman fans. Last but not least, the voice acting is above the average. The emotions are truly well delivered, especially by the main-cast.

    All in all it is a game I'd only recommend true Batman fans to play. If you're not interested in the sidecharacters around Batman andsome fun easter eggs there a many better open-world games you can play.

    For those who think the combat isn’t as hard hitting as the Arkham games, remember to upgrade your gear after every patrol: the game throws loads of new blueprints, materials and mods at you. That’ll keep you punching hard. Do the Knighthood challenges early to unlock unique traversal modes, they’re fun and make getting around the city easier.

    I won't lie and say this game is without flaws however.

    The crafting system seems like it was just thrown in to give you something to do, but it is fun to play with and create new costumes.

    The combat is definitely repetitive, but its a Batman game so I can give it a pass.

    The lack of the iconic gadgets does reduce your ability to truly step into the shoes of the 4 heroes, but it doesn't take it completely away.

    I look at this as, maybe like Arkham Asylum, they are testing new ground, want to make more in the franchise, and expand later.

    It's also supposed to be they are taking over from Batman after he destroyed the Batcave and everything in it, so that might include most of his tech, which would explain why they don't have the same gadgets.

    Overall I don't understand the hate, and reading other reviews it seems everyone is focused on Graphics instead of Gameplay.
    In fact, most of the Negative Reviews I've read are all about the FPS and Graphics.

    The city is beautiful, iconic landmarks dot the skyline and several places are just fun to go look at.
    The story, so far, is enjoyable to me, and I'm already developing theories about iconic villains that could appear, but again, like Arkham Asylum, they might be tipping the iceberg to expand in another game later.

    Overall this is a solid entry that brings some new ideas to the table, but maybe could have learned from their own lore and made sure to focus on the things that make the Arkham games great.

    At the end of the day I think the game is fun and enjoyable, and I like coming up with ways to take down thugs from stealth, or panic them so they start looking around for me to lure them in for a takedown.

    the fast paced combat is also a lot of fun to me.

    The game is actually super fun. Too many people are comparing it to the Arkham series and that’s where a lot of the hate comes from unfortunately. Some things feel like a chore, eg trying to complete the same quests for all characters but if you don't like them you can just skip it. At the end you will find the character /playstyle you prefer and stick with that.

    Performance is 30 fps. I am mostly a pc gamer so 60 is what I want. However, with the patches it has received, it is stable 30 and maybe it's the VRR that helps but looks super smooth.
    Don't spend 70-80€ or $ for it but on a sale if you find it 40 and lower it will be worth it.    … Expand

    Achei o game bom. Ótima jogabilidade, mas me incomodou um pouco a dificuldade pra seguir a história principal. Acho que seguir as secundária deve ser mais opcional e menos obrigatório.

    Whilst it has visuals which look good albiet some inferior to Arkham Knight the game is just mediocre , contrived plot, no lock on feature, argumentive camera and a forced level system to prolong it's playtime just makes an average game.

The 4 new protagonists, however, let us experience what it means to be a protector in Gotham now that the dark knight is gone.

    The characters have a huge range of customisation and development, including skills and special abilities. Combat abilities vary from close to range abilities, with a couple of fun twists here and there, all unique to the individual characters.

    The navigation through the city also varies from character to character, although everyone can use the batcycle.

    Overall it's a very fun and engaging experience, which I highly recommend.    … Expand

    Very fun game, people complain about refresh rate and buggy. I have played through the game 3 times and countless hours of side quests and very rarely ran into a bug. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but tot game is fun and most gripes are about refresh rate not actual game play.

    Sure it has it flaws, but honestly wich game doesn't? Batman is death and its up to The Knights to bring back justice to Gotham.
    Story is good (although i wish there were more missions with the Court of Owls)

    The game is not bad and serves you a lot. You want a hero? You have four. Want big missions? Usually you have about three going at once. You want side missions? You've got a city full of them. Which doesn't mean it's a great game. Just good and solid. [Issue#323]

    Not being content with being one of the most soulless products released under the Warner Bros. label, it is also extremely underwhelming from a technical point of view. Gotham Knights was originally developed as a multi-gen title, but PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions got cancelled. Despite this, the visuals underwhelm and fail to impress and manage to look worse than the last major Batman instalment released seven years prior. Capping at a mere 30fps might be excusable if this boasted the most cutting edge visuals on the market, but it manages to look cheap and dated. For a AAA production from Warner Bros., this should have been a visual tour de force, with top writing talent, and have evolved the gameplay to compete with its contemporaries. Maybe it can be salvaged over time with updates, but currently it's one of the most droll and sloppily designed triple-A products of 2022.

    Gotham Knights would be a great game, its sandbox approach to exploring Gotham is top-notch and its story keeps you just engaged enough to keep playing. The problem lies in the game’s lackluster combat and endless fighting cycles of beating up the same factions over and over and over with little to no variation to dialogue.
