    I am really enjoying this game. Yes it not perfect but I like the choice to play as 4 characters. The batcycle is far too slow but for everyone banging on about fps I just don't even really notice it. So as for me I'm really enjoying it and im glad i bought it.

    no need to put a mode with a 60fps patch, you can't play 21fps on the bike, it really all sucks, no one here is comparing it to Batman Arkham, so it's no use that fanboys keep spamming 10 without sense, because the problem is not that but the fps. and if you complain about this, either you don't have a ps5, or you just switched to ps5 from the switch.

    The reviews I have seen have been extremely harsh. This game is enjoyable with plenty of objectives to do. Huge amounts of customisation and a compelling story. The traversal could be more streamlined but hasn’t dampened my experience. The combat is fun and diverse. People complaining they want deeper combat systems makes no sense to me, the combat is similar to Arkham games, Arkham gamesThe reviews I have seen have been extremely harsh.     1- First thing Don't compare Gotham Knights with Batman Arkham Knight, this is unfair to both games, there is a big difference between Action Adventure Open World game and Action RPG open world game

    2- really loved everything about the game from the story to the four superheroes too, it's gotham city, it's life full of peoples and great gameplay

    It’s not as bad as most of these review bombers are saying. I’m really enjoying it. I gave it an 8 to help cancel them but at the moment it’s probably a 7. The biggest issue I see is the fps being 30 and even dipping at times. For a AAA game it’s not acceptable. I know they said it was due to Xbox specs but if that’s the case then find an alternative. PS5 shouldn’t be penalized for XboxIt’s not as bad as most of these review bombers are saying. I’m really enjoying it. I gave it an 8 to help cancel them but at the moment it’s probably a 7.     Really great game with surprisingly good grapics to be a open world game, why do some reviews try to be so negative no idea.
    On ps5 it is stabile 30fps and it feels ok to be only 30fps. If you like superhero games you would need this one, better then avengers and guardians.

    all those who put 10 are fake, it is absolutely not true that the game is beautiful, indeed, and it is really unstable on console it runs at 30 fps when you stand still and when you use the bike it drops down to 21 fps is really ridiculous.

    Story and cinematics are decent and engaging, the dynamics and personality given to all the characters really shines. It really strings together the background characters of Gotham and puts them into their own narrative without the need for Batman to be around every corner. It shows an nice depiction of sidekicks coming together to protect Gotham.     Play it alone and enjoy the story, or mess around with the boys in co-op, and its a good time.

    I don’t understand why this game is getting as much hate as it is. This is my honest review! The story is good for what it is. The side missions are in-depth and enjoyable. The world is amazing! Great to explore for me and Gothem has never looked better. The starting of the game is boring BUT! When you get further into the game it gets a lot better with many different types of enemies,I don’t understand why this game is getting as much hate as it is. This is my honest review!     The game is much better in coop BUT with a friend. It’s not good with a random player! Coop with a friend does make the game shine! With the 30fps it’s ok only really noticeable when you are riding you bike. And I have countered no bugs which is great. I give it 7.4/10 I do believe this game will get better with dlc and improvement with the combat.    … Expand

    Batman Gotham Knights é um jogo bom, talvez não tenha a excelência da série Arkan mas é um jogo divertido, muito se fala da duração do jogo mas em um tempo onde os jogos tem campanhas gigantes e intermináveis esse jogo acha seu espaço sendo um jogo bonito, bem polido, poderia ser ótimo mas certamente é um bom Jogo

    It started with the Arkham series and then it was PS4 Spiderman but now objectively the evolution and current peak of superhero videogames is without a doubt Gotham Knights. Thank you so much Warner Bros Montreal!

    I kindly ask whoever put 10 on this game to realize we have to stick together and protest not to be happy with a mediocre job, such a mediocre game can't run at 30fps at all, it's really a ridiculous thing as a thing.

Every single boss in the game is amazing (except 1 which I admittedly despise) combat feels more rewarding as I learn more about the games mechanics. While the movement definitely could have been better it's still extremely fun grappling around. Plenty of things to do and find. But don't get me wrong it's far from perfect. Collectibles are all a nightmare to find without just googling it as none of these very small items have hints on where to find them. Bike is very underwhelming considering it's the only vehicle. And while I enjoy learning about the mechanics of each enemy they could have used a tips menu of some kind. But even with all that being said. I love this game. And I highly recommend it as long as you aren't obsessed with the notion of fps like many of the other reviews here.… Expand

    Personally I like this better than Arkham and the I enjoy different combat for a change and it's more fitting for a rpg like similar to dark souls, plus the multiplayer is awesome. This game is RPG and NOT a Arkham action game.     The game is not perfect, but it’s still a 10 for me! It’s the most fun I’ve ever had on a co-op campaign, exploring the city separately and coming together for mission is really fun and the team attacks are awesome!

I will take beautiful nex gen graphics with 30fps any day over performance mode. Graphics here are truly amazing and the gameplay, open world and combat are all very good!     The Good:
    Graphics! Gorgeous and far-sighted views of Gotham and fluid enough on PS5 (but: not 60 fps mostly since the views are far and wide...) ... but... [see "bad"]
    Easy to traverse Gotham - ascend and descend buildings, go on patrol on your Bat Cycle etc.
    Open world - go anywhere you want, beat anyone you want over the head... live with the consequences
    Story is well-done and voiceovers are AA (not movie style, but well done)
    The "New Guard" of heroes is pretty different in skill sets and specialisations - although... [see "bad"]
    Rocksteady tried to mix it up and give you some "crime scene investigation" gameplay ... but [see "bad"]

    The bad:
    [Open Gotham...] is big! Which means a huge world to traverse and most of the time getting from A to B to do just some menial "random task" (insert: beat up bad underground mobs) - guidance is only given for the main plot + some "premediated crime" sub tasks - the rest is just grind... literally repeating the one and same sub-missions to get your favorite new DC Knight that next skill.
    [Open Gotham ct'd] - no 60 fps, leave alone more than that.
    They still couldn't manage to make Robin cool - not on them, but if you'd rather play Nightwing than Robin... 'nuff said.
    [Crime Scenes...] - they are just some screwed-on-top "point and click" style adventures - where you often will end up "just clicking stuff and combining random things" to get it over with... not well done at all, but a nice touch.

    The ugly:
    The story might not be your cup of tea, glass of beer, bottle of Kombucha. It is "new guard" / extended universe - sans Batman, sans Commissioner Gordon etc. pp.
    Does get grindy the more you get into it... in a repetitive mediocre way.
    "Stealth" gameplay in a non-stealth environment - always was, is and will always be a bad idea... badly executed and kind of gimmicky at best here.    … Expand

    Its solid, ran fine on my older 5 year old system at 1080p and has a lot of fun characters to enjoy.. Not a fan of Batman myself but like the Bat family a lot. The systems are fun the loot is fun and the world feel just right. The combat feels deeper than Arkham series and looks a lot nicer as well, and finally less Rain 24/7..

    Solid 8/10 for me.

    I don't know about others but I love this game. When it comes to wanting a game that really makes you feel like being a superhero this is the best I have ever played. Going out night after night and waging war on crime of the worst city in the world. This is exactly what I wanted and what I got.

    Story is badly structured. Should just have copied Rocksteady’s approach, would have been a far better game.

    The game is poorly optimized and runs terrible on playstation. The frames drop almost everytime I play it. They were hoping this game would do well just because of the DC characters but it takes more than known IP to make a great game. That's why PlayStation does it best.

    The game is a ton of fun for fans of DC and the Batman Family. Even if you don't know much about them, the combat is not Arkham but it's excellent in its own right. The gameplay loop is quite addictive. My only wish would be that I could take an AI companion with me if I wanted. It is only 30fps on PS5, but it doesn't ruin the experience, at least for me, at all.

    Yet another game that was expected to be the second coming but is just good but not excellent. Excellent atmosphere and above average gameplay. Great story and characters. Highly recommended! In a few years will be treated as a classic like Skyrim and Cyberpunk.

    Is the game perfect? Obviously not, but the amount of reviews giving this game a 0 based solely on 30fps is ridiculous. This score is to even out the crappy reviews this game is getting.

    I’m really enjoying the game so far. I’d probably give the game a 8. If your a Batman fan I think you will enjoy this game. If your not a pretentious fps snob.

    It's not an Arkham game, and that's fine. It's an action RPG. So keep that in mind when going into this game. With that being said, I think this game is a real treat for die hard Batman fans. I love what WB Montreal has done with this and appreciate the different direction they have taken.

    First of all, the graphics are impressive. I'm so immersed in this neon noir styled Gotham City,    It's not an Arkham game, and that's fine. It's an action RPG. So keep that in mind when going into this game. With that being said, I think this game is a real treat for die hard Batman fans. I love what WB Montreal has done with this and appreciate the different direction they have taken.

    First of all, the graphics are impressive. I'm so immersed in this neon noir styled Gotham City, which is filled with people and things to do. The gameplay is incredibly fun once you get used to all the new mechanics and upgrade your stats and unlock new abilities. Also, the combat takedowns in this game are some of the flashiest and most style takedowns I've ever seen. I'm glad they went with the court of owls storyline, it's a great ride with very cool and perhaps slightly predictable twists. Customisation is really well done, with lots of variety in suits to choose from. Especially the Jim Lee inspired suits, they look incredible. I haven't even spoken about how awesome co-op is, it adds a whole other dimension to the game and opens up another level of enjoyment when exploring the city and stopping crime with your friends.

    The performance issues at launch are not great, but I expect fixes to roll out soon as is the case with most games. WBM have even created a bug tracking system for players to submit their issues to, so that's a good sign.    … Expand

    Loving the game, it's different from the Batman games and that means it doesn't get the same old same feeling! Combat is fast and the graphics are good, love the cinematics. I've been a Batman fan all my life so I would have gotten it anyway but I was pleasantly surprised by this.

    There is nothing to do in the open world. It's just a boring and lifeless world. The developers had a trailer showing off the batcycle in slow motion, and I can now see why they did that. It was to hide the fact that the batcycle in this game is extremely slow. You would think that a futuristic sports bike would at least feel faster than a soccer mom's minivan. Forget the minivan, this poor excuse of a motorcycle is even slower than a garbage truck. Despite how slow the bike is, this game still somehow manages to drop in FPS when driving it. That just proves how lazy the developers are to optimize their game.

    The co-op multiplayer is a complete joke. You can only play up to 2 players. Are you freaking kidding me? There are four playable characters in this game. One would assume we would be able to play up to 4 players, but the developers were too cheap and lazy for that. I don't recommend this poor excuse of a next-gen game at all.

    P.S. Oh way to got Metacritic. Silencing me over an opinion, real mature. How dare I give this a negative score for not meeting my high expectations on a AAA game, especially if it's a $70 next-gen only game.    … Expand

With that point, Gotham Knights truly represents innovation with combat, multiplayer and action RPG mechanics. The story hooks you and drives your gameplay while the ability to change characters or play with a friend make gameplay unique depending on who you play or play with.     (10 points to allocate)
    Strength lies in the story (+3). Engaging and puts you in the moment.

    Agility is in the movement mechanics (-1). Some clunky move sets like the traversal and not mantling a wall or not focusing on the right enemy detract from the flow of your superhero movement.

    Charisma looks at the writing (+1). Catch phrases and discussions between characters keep you engaged. The interrogation and the engagement with the story keep you motivated to further progress.

    Perception looks at side content (+2). The Open World shows compassion toward multiplayer and keeps you interested in what you need or are trying to do. You feel like you are doing something toward the end goal and doesn't detract from the experience.

    Luck is about loot and rewards (+1). Collectibles, while tedious in other Arkham games, feel less important, yet give rewarding lore when collected (its not a chore per say). The loot is interesting and plays toward that Action RPG mechanic and feels good.

    Intellect looks at puzzles and level of difficulty (-1). While the game is an action RPG, it does not rely on detective work like the others. Puzzles, like Riddler trophies or crime scenes, don't feel "Batman" worthy. They also feel thrown in. The level of difficulty saves this from a -2. It is not easy enough to press two buttons and survive. There is a level of mastery needed the further in the game you go.

    Endurance looks at length vs. interest (+1). The length is for open world games/ multiplayer fun. You can play for hours doing missions and foiling crime. The main story is engaging and will take you some time, but replay value is also based on which character you play and how you play the game. The ability to play a bit at a time and feel good is great! For those of you with a job or responsibilities, this is a good game to play for short bursts.    … Expand

    Never bought the game due to the reviews and the 30 fps, but got it cheap and wow!!! This was not a $90 game at 30fps but it would have been at 60fps.     My friend and I played all the weekend, about 20 hours, and we love playing coop. The is much better with a friend then single player. Massive problem I have is the 10fps-30fps that ruin the experience for me and gave me a headache. I enjoy the exploration and combat but the fps is bad. The stealth isn't great and is clunky also. Robin is my favorite character.

I’d love for MC to take some responsibility and IP ban these scrubs, but alas, clicks are king.

    As for those who actually have money to purchase things and come looking for real reviews, I apologize you have to dig through this muck. There are some good ones sprinkled amongst the dredge, so I’ll be brief. The experience you’ll have with this game is inversely proportional to what your standards were going into it. Don’t compare it to the Arkham series; it ain’t that. Combat isn’t as engaging, and it’s not as sprawling and developed as you’d expect for a AAA “open world RPG”. The story develops nicely but the experience as a whole doesn’t feel fully complete. On the technical side, there are legitimate issues and gripes to be had, especially if you’re on a current gen console (PS5/XBOX Series X/S), in particular the frame rate hovering around 30 or less. I’d recommend this for someone who is a big DC/Batman fan, but waiting for some patches and updates to smooth out problems as well as a price drop, isn’t a bad idea. 7/10 game. 10/10 score to do my minuscule part in offsetting the fundamentalists posing as buying customers.    … Expand

    Pros:

    - The story is awesome and starts off with an insane cinematic! It’s dark, intriguing and the various interiors you explore are so beautiful (the villain stories are also a blast to play).

    - Combat is challenging and the hero animations are so damn sweet!

    - Co-op (do I need to say anything more).

    - Probably the first superhero game where you can really impact how you wish to play. You get to pick between 4 very different characters that all have a unique fighting style. You get to choose your outfits and customize your stats to fit your play style.

    I was expecting this game to be terrible especially after the reviews but honestly it's a really fun game. My only problems are the UI & sometimes I'll have frame dips, but for the most part it's worth a try. The game kinda grows on you as you progress & learn your character better, and the city feels more alive then I would've assumed.

    It's a refreshing release compared to the same old titles that often get released with a multitude amount of bugs and ends up ruining any momentum the game might have had. I 100% thought this game would show many bugs but didn't happen to run into any. Surprising to say the title I had the least faith on actually delivers on a bug free experience, which is something most developers seem to love not doing.

    The only two complaints I have for the game is of course the stupid frame rate and traversal. Either the frame cap happened because of the quality of the textures and the amount of things on screen for the game to render or just a total lack of optimization. Either way if in a future update they can patch a 60 or even stabilize the frame rate further, I'll be happy. Traversal from the beginning of the game is SLOW to the point that when I unlocked fast travel, that would end up being the main way I got around the city. Grappling is fine but can get a little smoothed out in animations, the main problem comes from the bat-cycle which gets even worse when grouped up with the locked frame rate. Used it only for the first quarter of the game until I got my hero's movement ability's, only ever touching it again for challenges.

    This game is very difficult to recommend due to the vastly different type of game this is in comparison to the games that are being released today. I had much fun playing this and most certainly would love to possible DLC or more game modes apart from the four players PvE experience we get in a month. To those who play this game, try to enter it as if it’s a completely new game that has nothing to do with the batman games that came before it, even if it seems impossible to.    … Expand

    Amazing and fun, Gotham Knights looks visually beautiful & stunning. Had a lot of fun playing the Co-op with my little brother. This was definitely a different take from the arkham Series. Some people may like it and others won't. But don't listen to reviews and go give it a try for yourself.

    Really don't understand where all the hate and bad reviews this game is getting!! WB Montreal did an amazing job all around!! Gotham City is absolutely stunning, and the gameplay is great! Stop comparing this to the Rocksteady games cause it's not supposed to be one of those! This is a must play to anyone who likes open world RPG's

If you genuinely enjoy DC comics and it’s characters then you will love this. I’m also not a FPS baby as I have played many successful games at 30Fps(plague tale). That all said it does have its faults but*ACTUALLY PLAYED THE GAME* I think this game is one of those that have been affected by hate train.     Character control
    A big issue this game has is with it's most basic elements, immedietly I noticed that character movement just feels "off". It feels weightless and like it's too fast for the input you're giving it, not being able to jump in a superhero game outside of contextual situations is very strange and is hard to adjust to. Moving around the city does not feel fluid, it feels very awkward most of the time and as a result a large part of the game is not enjoyable. Obstacles I think I can jump over I find out I cannot, sometimes there is a strange slowdown/delay after hopping over a table where the character just awkwardly doesn't move for a couple of seconds, which can be very bad for stealth sections.

    It feels almost as if nobody actually played this game before they released it because it doesn't feel good to play most of the time, which for a superhero game is not good I'm afraid.

    Combat
    The combat is not as bad as some other's have said, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Arkham series this game picks up from (whether the devs like it or not I'm afraid, it will be judged on that series). It introduces momentum abilities which are a good idea in themselves, the problem is sometimes pulling them off can be very hit or miss, for instance sometimes the inputs do not work when expected and it ruins the flow of combat. You do start with a basic moveset which feels crappy but you unlock more as you go, so you do have to give it a chance before you judge too soon.

    Another gripe I have is the tutorial for the timed combat, it is not actually a tutorial, it doesn't teach you anything. It doesn't tell you how you can know if it's a timed strike or not, you just hit the target until it says 5/5 hits. It feels unfinished and it's frustrating that such a big element of the combat is just left to you shrugging your shoulders going "adunno?".

    UI
    The amount of confusing menus and choices made by the devs on this one are strange to contemplate. Lots of menus and popups where I look at them and I actually don't understand them or why they're there. The text is so big it feels like I'm playing a game meant for the visually challenged most of the time, along with pop up boxes taking up a 5th of the screen.

    Framerates/graphics
    Look, it's basically a ps4 game parading itself as a ps5 game. It's locked a 30 FPS and even after the day 1 update it still lags below that sometimes. That might a dealbreaker for you. The graphics themselves are decent, I believe game design beats graphics anyday, look at Elden ring for example.
    It's not going to blow you away but some of the design and art choices are nice.

    Ultimately Gotham knights atm feels like a good game being held back by strange choices and a severe lack of polish and fixes. With patches and large updates this can be the great game it could be, I just hope they continue to make changes it needs. It's not a bad game by any stretch, but it needs serious work moving forward. I would wait for a sale or until they've fixed and improved the feel and fluidity of everything.    … Expand

Repetive tasks to pad the runtime, a lot of glices with the transversal moviment, enemies are dull bags with a **** of ton of health, the generic rpg mechanics of the that makes ubisofts openworlds an A grade design. Why so many bad design choices?One point for the interesting story, some good moments in combat and finally being able to play as nightwing, but man, this game blows...     The combat was pretty mid, just seemed to lack any real depth at all, the voice acting and characters are hit and miss. There have possibly been just too many batman games the last decade that Harley, Freeze, Clayface, etc. feel a little too well worn and tiring. Its bad, just average.

    The game is really an 8 but I bumped it up to a 10 just because of the completely disingenuous 0's and 1's the game is getting from people that haven't even played the game. Now lets get into how much I enjoyed this game..

    The story is greatly thought out and very interesting though it may not be perfect and has some weaker moments.     The story is greatly thought out and very interesting though it may not be perfect and has some weaker moments. The main characters we have here have charm and all have different personalities and feelings and struggles. The graphics are pretty great and the game may run at 30 but honestly it doesn't take that long until you get used to it.

    And lastly the gameplay, the strongest part of the game and the game that has the most potential, the gameplay is extremely good and all the characters play differently and are all fleshed out. I don't understand the hate for the gameplay here, its truly very good and satisfying when using all your momentum abilities, hacking electronics or beating down foes with Barbara, using your piercing bullets from a range and being a brawler with Red Hood, using his acrobatic skills to his advantage and bouncing from enemy to enemy with Nightwing, playing stealthy, using your staff to strike enemies fluidly and teleporting from enemy to enemy with Robin. It's all so good!

    Some key issues I have with the game however is levels can sometimes be tedious to get through as the level design isn't very well thought out and honestly very average. Some story missions feel very lazy and half assed forcing you to do some crimes and just slapping a cutscene at the end of it. The gear system can monotonous as you constantly have to create new gear when leveling up and swapping your current gear with gear that just does more damage and so on and so forth. Some enemies are just very annoying and tedious to get through as some higher tier enemies or the talons for example will continuously dodge your attacks. And a final complaint would be the fact that sometimes you may have to grind to do certain missions or you'll find that enemies/bosses will be health sponges and it can get very annoying.

    But overall, we have a very solid game here and I would recommend it to anyone, the core of the game has lots of potential for a sequel with the main issue being that the game is just rough around the edges in a lot of aspects, but again with the main core mechanics, story and characters being overall very good. 8/10    … Expand

    Red hood shouldn't be moving anything like that nor Robin. The characters and story feel rushed.
    The graphics are OK. All in all its an OK game by people you can tell aren't DC fans and haven't really pushed the game past the last one.

I sat there for twelve hours feeling nothing whatsoever. I was on autopilot the whole time, because absolutely nothing pulled me in whatsoever.

    To give some praise, I will say that the character designs look nice. They feel modernized in a way that doesn’t feel over the top. The voice acting was also.. Average. Nobody did a bad job, at least.

    Nothing, like, SUCKED, but there’s really no reason to go out of your way to play it, honestly. This game will be forgotten quickly by those who played it, and the industry in general. It’s so depressingly lifeless and forgettable.    … Expand

    Dejando fuera comparaciones con la trilogia de batman arkham ya que este juego no fue desarrollado por rocksteady studios, me pareció una decepción, bajo rendimiento en consolas, caidas de fps, todos los personajes se controlan igual y jefes que mas que suponer un reto parecían esponjas de dañó, lo unico rescatable podría ser la historia y las integraciones entre los personajes.Dejando fuera comparaciones con la trilogia de batman arkham ya que este juego no fue desarrollado por rocksteady studios, me pareció una decepción, bajo rendimiento en consolas, caidas de fps, todos los personajes se controlan igual y jefes que mas que suponer un reto parecían esponjas de dañó, lo unico rescatable podría ser la historia y las integraciones entre los personajes.

    That’s not even to say about the tacked on leveling and crafting system. It feels very obvious they were just trying to pad out the game. Other poor decisions were the absence of any local multiplayer and making single player less fun to play. When you die you still have to have a count down for no reason waiting to be revived by an nonexistent party member.

    This game feels like it was trying to do the Arkham series without doing anything Arkham was known for stripping it of perfected mechanics. Like the gliding and grappnel that felt smooth is replaced with jerky jumps and grapples that stop you dead each time , stealth has been all but cut with previously stated imprecise landings, overly long stealth take downs, no gadgets, poor hiding, and enemies that can’t even be taken down stealthily or not which makes the whole thing moot.

    All in all a poor showing especially for a game with so much potential and a previous legacy that had already perfected it. I’d say don’t waste your money and just replay Arkham City with mods. You get something a bit new and you don’t have to pay $70.    … Expand

    The game is not bad and serves you a lot. You want a hero? You have four. Want big missions? Usually you have about three going at once. You want side missions? You've got a city full of them. Which doesn't mean it's a great game. Just good and solid. [Issue#323]

    Not being content with being one of the most soulless products released under the Warner Bros. label, it is also extremely underwhelming from a technical point of view. Gotham Knights was originally developed as a multi-gen title, but PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions got cancelled. Despite this, the visuals underwhelm and fail to impress and manage to look worse than the last major Batman instalment released seven years prior. Capping at a mere 30fps might be excusable if this boasted the most cutting edge visuals on the market, but it manages to look cheap and dated. For a AAA production from Warner Bros., this should have been a visual tour de force, with top writing talent, and have evolved the gameplay to compete with its contemporaries. Maybe it can be salvaged over time with updates, but currently it's one of the most droll and sloppily designed triple-A products of 2022.

    Gotham Knights would be a great game, its sandbox approach to exploring Gotham is top-notch and its story keeps you just engaged enough to keep playing. The problem lies in the game’s lackluster combat and endless fighting cycles of beating up the same factions over and over and over with little to no variation to dialogue.
