    AAA Cashgrab, focusing on nothing but "oh shiny, oh wow particle effects! 10/10" reviewers.

    Developers hopped on the $70 price-hike train, charging more money for less and less quality. No, your next-gen shine and particle effects leap is not worth an additional $10. Mods do the same thing for 10-year-old games free of charge.

    The game is poor quality, combat is copy-paste and boring. Maps are copy-paste with different filters (Oh Shiny, still!). Basically, it's a decorated hallway simulator.

    No campaign at all. AT ALL. Farm the same 5-minute missions (go here, kill that) 20 times to collect tokens to unlock doors (mobile game???). Open the big door a couple of times, the game is over. Oh, and you talk to two different NPC's about how bad the bad guy is every once in a while.

    It's bad guys. Really, it's pathetically bad. The fact that this was hoisted as a true next-gen AAA experience during all this time (and NOBODY at Sony realized how truly awful this was) is concerning, and a bad, bad sign for this new generation of games. Also, just goes to show that Sony doesn't actually have a single clue about what a videogame actually is.

    Avoid. Avoid. And if somebody gives it a 10/10, avoid them too. It's either an attempt to combat buyer's remorse or an employee.    … Expand

    TL;DR: If you somehow enjoyed Anthem and/or Marvel Avengers, then you definitely WON'T enjoy this. Anthem and Marvel Avengers we're mediocre quality at best but at least it had something redeemable to go with the bad qualities. This one does not have any redeemable qualities.

    This game already was so bad. And now it is even worse. With this PS Plus version of Godfall, that lacks a single player campaign. And you want ME to PAY for campaign with "Deluxe Upgrade"??? This is such a spit-in-the-face, both from SONY and Godfall dev.
    Rating 0 Score untill they give us Normal Edition.

    This games only good part is the first few hours or so. The combat is nice and settings are beautiful, but after a few hours the combat is really just the same exact thing every time. The endgame is also one of the worst endgames I have ever played. Basically the game puts you through “dreams” which are just sets from previous missions so you dont see anything new. The valorplates are cool, but theres only like ten of them in the game and they all do the same thing except for maybe spawning a different ally or damage buffs. If this game had public matchmaking and more valorplates and made them completely different, this game would 100% be worth the next gen price. But as of now, i feel insulted that I bought this game for the high price that it was.… Expand

    Gameplay: 7.5/10 AI: 6.5/10 Overall Godfall delivers some of the most Colorful scenes and gameplay I've seen. The story isn't half bad but its not the greatest either . The gameplay and movements are very smooth with little to no bugs. The combat is just a fun hack and slash style system with easy to play controller    After playing this game I've given it a 7/10.

    I haven't completed the game yet I'm about 4 hours in. One thing I am noticing is the AI is great when they are around, many times I find myself exploring the maps and no enemies in sight. They need to patch in some more spawn points. To keep the action Total Nonstop Action!

    Highly entertaining after 20 hrs of gameplay. Loot system is brilliant and character development is deep. The fight engine is great and very satisfying with absolutely stunning visuals. The narrative leaves a little to be desired but the story line is interesting. At first glance, it reminded me of elements of God of War meets Ninja Gaiden. Hard to not enjoy if you are a slasher game fan.

    I actually really like this game. Is it perfect, definitely not. The game plays great. Everything is fast and fluid the controls are good. Graphically the game is amazing. Like others have said there is definitely some repetition in this game which is unfortunate but if you are a fan of this style of game I would still give it a go.     Honestly this game I played months ago and couldn't bring myself to finish. It was completely forgettable and the combat adds nothing new to action gameplay. It looks decent and has fast loading screens, but the voice acting was garbage and the maps are uninspired.

    Voilà ça s'arrête là. Pas d'autre point positif.
    Et le gros point noir c'est clairement le gameplay, qu'est ce que c'est lourd avec une sorte de sensation de crispation des persos. Et ça devient très ennuyant tellement c'est toujours pareil. Il n'y a aucune variété dans la façon de jouer.
    Concernant les contenus bah c'est quasi vide, les menus ne servent quasi à rien alors qu'il y a un coté RPG et le peu de temps que l'on passe dans les menus c'est pas du tout bien foutu, pas instinctif, pas ergonomique. Il y a quasi rien à faire sauf taper, taper, taper. A si les système de butin qui aurait pu être attrayant avec un coté prenant, mais non, on s'en moque assez vite.
    Le scénar est quasi inexistant, cherchez pas à trouver une histoire ou une narration, elle est réduit à peau de chagrin, quelques passage pour dire qu'il se passe des choses mais c'est tout. Et c'est d'un basique...
    Au niveau de l'IA alors là c'est au niveau des pâquerettes. A ce demander si ils en on une. L'IA ce limite quasi à ne faire que taper, les esquives, protections ou même changement de patern sont quasi inexistant.
    Le jeu à quelques bug. Par moment j'ai eu les menus qui se sont superposés, lors de baston des coups passer au travers de l'ennemis, j'ai eu aussi par 2 fois un ennemis qui se retrouve bloquer dans un mur et l'autre les jambes dans le sol. Très drôle d'ailleurs de le voir courir sans pouvoir bouger.
    Et dernier défaut, la fluidité. Alors là c'est pas normal pour un jeu qui est quand même assez vide. Par moment on sent vraiment la chute de fps, surtout avec les pouvoirs/combo.
    En conclusion un jeu vraiment très très très moyen. Limite décevant surtout pour un AAA.
    Ca reste un jeu un peu défouloir, qui graphiquement et plutôt réussit mais c'est tout.    … Expand

    Game is so **** bugged, it’s unplayable i’ve played like 1 or 2 hours and it’s alteady crashed like 5 times and other times just started to bug out and gave me a blue screen where the only option was to shut it down and lose all my progress, now i’m done **** this trash game, i want my money back, stupid scammers!

    So i was rly hesitant about gettin the game bc of the reviews i said **** it and found it on sale for $20 on amazon. Campaign definitely has its opportunities but I enjoyed it and the ending. For me post game is way more fun than I saw any reviews of. You can replay the boss fights via dreamstones and the tower of ascension (sorta like Mortal Kombat tower of fighting waves). The reason im enjoying post game so much is chasing the legendary/primal loot to polish a specific build. Up until the end of the campaign u can **** around and rly run whatever u enjoy the perks of but the fun starts when u find a weapon or augment etc and build around it for high crit/dps/elemental damage etc. Theres a lot of criticism about no matchmaking but so far using the lfg here has worked out pretty well and theres a good mix of vets willing to help and guys just gettin started. Idk if its worth $60 but if u find it on sale its worth pickin up… Expand

I'm currently playing thru Godfall, in fact just turned the game off to write this review. Let's just post the facts: it runs smoothly if you play on performance mode. Go with performance mode trust me. The different realms are gorgeous to look at but lack in small cosmetic details. It's a grind looting but can be well worth it for your specific play style. Eventually you can buy loot from a shop keep. Not real world money. This game does not provide a deep story but it's good enough to be just interested enough to play. It's really one of those, hey the bad guy did this so we're gonna do that and this has to work because we don't have any other options. The story is passable enough to make it worthwhile. Don't expect a lot of banter between characters because it's just you for the most part. Now the meat and potatoes is the actual gameplay. It has a bit of a learning curve, getting the timing down for blocks and counters takes a little getting used to but the fights are truly fun. Especially the boss fights. There seems to be a lot of back and forth between the same realms so that can make it kind of a slog at times. The graphics are beautiful, this indie company did a great job there. Needs work on story but has great gameplay. My recommendation is check it for sure but catch it on sale. It's worthy of your time but not at $70. Catch it on sale at $35 or $40 and enjoy! This game deserves much higher than a 0 or 1 like some people have posted. I'm personally looking forward to how they improve on the game and see where this really goes. Hope this helps!… Expand

    Very underrated game. Its a unique loot 'n slash game. BEATUTFUL graphics, awesome abilities and a decent perk tree. Tons of unique weapons and items to help your build. If you enjoy a game with beautiful graphics and just solid combat, this game is for you.

Souless campaign and bare bones combat system with the same generic enemies over again can't save this game from what it set out to be. I felt no connection to the world nor the characters throughout the game. It was a struggle to continue to get to the end.     Its major downfall is that the Dev team insists on working towards new content, THAT THEY WANT YOU TO PAY FOR!!!... when they have a laundry list of bugs that NEED to be fixed. the major one being that skill points have NEVER been assigned properly and you could finish the game and begin endgame with anywhere between 48    This game had so much promise, and the game itself is good looking.
    Its major downfall is that the Dev team insists on working towards new content, THAT THEY WANT YOU TO PAY FOR!!!... when they have a laundry list of bugs that NEED to be fixed. the major one being that skill points have NEVER been assigned properly and you could finish the game and begin endgame with anywhere between 48 and 72 skill points to assign! its astonishing that they acknowledge the issue and neglected to fix it for 2 years! 2 large expansions and they have done nothing to fix it.

    i will not be purchasing a game from 'Counterplay Games' again as they dont seem to care what they produce or for the end user, only lining their pockets. After so long of not being able to play with my friends because we would end up on massively different end game strengths, they now want people to pay them for a new expansion that has the exact same issue.... No...

    This issue reflects on Gearbox Publishing also, why would you keep publishing these expansions when the base game is broken. if i thought i could get it, i would be asking for a refund right now.    … Expand

Intense and challenging combat is a looter, so obviously it will be repetitive and drop based. I had bugs in the matchmaking server which is in beta.     Godfall is at its best when it makes you feel powerful, and it's really damn mediocre otherwise. Let's start with the story...Yikes. It's so painfully generic. The voice acting is sleepy. The characters are forgettable. Generic family betrayal story where brother kills brother to become a god or whatever. Good brother ACTUALLY LIVED THO and now he's pissed. He wants revenge on his bad god-brother for being mean. They introduce this tired, trope-filled story and don't bother giving it a conclusion. The credits roll and the story ends with a whimper. I can get over a bad story if the gameplay is solid. Godfall godfalls [heh heh] short of that as well

    The gameplay started out fun. There are plenty of weapons to choose from, techniques to learn, loot to collect etc. I enjoyed running into a mob and unleashing every ability I had on them in a flurry of particle effects and then dispatching them one by one with finishing moves [which are kinda lame sometimes because there's no blood in this game]. The gameplay loop of gaining new moves, weapons, and armor is fun for about 3 hours. At that point, you've experienced everything Godfall has to offer. It just doesn't change at all. The only thing that changes is the length of enemy health bars. You'll get all this crazy loot (which is your typical rarity, power, perk situation), but you won't care because it doesn't offer anything in the way of character building or anything that changes the way you interact with the game's world.

    What a big tacky world it is. Everything is gilded, gold, glossy, and/or full of texture but you can't really explore any of it. It's such a pretty game, but it doesn't really matter because there are no meaningful interactions with any of it. It feels like wandering through a tile set of hallways, arenas, and more hallways clearing mobs until you fight a boss in a battle of attrition for 15 minutes. There's a huge dissonance between the player character and the world in which they navigate. It honestly felt like a mobile game sometimes because it was so limited in scope. That really describes my experience with Godfall best. It was just limited. The loot, the combat, the world; everything was just too superficial to leave any lasting impression. Four hours in and it was an absolute chore to progress. No AAA game I've played in recent memory is as repetitive or lacking in identity as this one.

    Technically it's a bit of a mess as well. I had one crash that was so bad, my ps5 just completely turned itself off. No warning... Just, boom, power off. I've never had that happen with any other game; just Godfall. Lots of weird little animation bugs, teleporting, menus not appearing, respawn issues and the like really rubbed salt in the wound.

    Lastly, I have to say a very fine 'eff you' to the UI devs who decided against having a persistent cursor in the equipment menu. Every time you equip something, you're brought back to the equipment menu with your cursor AT THE TOP OF THE MENU. That means every time you equip something [which is all the time] you have 3-4 extra button presses since the cursor doesn't stay where you left it. I know that sounds small, but trust me it will absolutely drive you crazy if you are cursed enough to spend any amount of extended time with this game.

    This is free for PS plus, but it's a scam. They have the story locked so you can't play without purchasing. Scamming PS plus members. Thanks for allowing this Sony. Only part of the game is free and no one plays the end game.

Советовать не могу, по началу игра интересна, а потом начинаешь замечать кучу косяков (пример, щит который бросаем, чтобы собирать ресурс, разбивать лампы для сундуков, после броска отправляется на КД, зачем? а чтобы ты как дурак стоял и ждал по 30 сек с этими банками у сундуков), кривая очередь ударов, прерывать ее нельзя, ты натыкал кучу действий и видишь, что тебе прилетит, жди пока очередь пройдет и тебе прилетит, всегда прилетит, мобы... это отдельное, они просто одинаковы, меняется расцветка и все, а тактика боя одна и та же. После 10 часов становится скучно, хоть и брал по скидке, она того не стоит, скучная, кривая по механикам, ужасная копия ДС (ну видно что пытались брать идеи, так как на слешер не похоже от слова совсем, ДМС этому подтверждение)… Expand

    Shameful practice to cut the game down to a demo of the endgame for ps+. I was actually interested in trying this out (thinking I would get the full version of the game), now I just want to actively avoid anything this company ever puts out in the future.

    Great game.. It’s visually stunning, original story was bland, but they really put together a better story in the DLC. Good looting and leveling system. They actually give you more control over the loot you target which allows you to focus on enhancing your build piece by piece. This game reminds me of Warframe.

    I wasted 25 bucks to buy an used copy of this trash game. One the most boring and repetitive game i've played in the last decade. Also spamming L3 to run every 10 seconds is not good aswell, it's obnoxious. Repetitive, repetitive repetitive. And the plot is weak as hell. Stay away from it.

    (5) Flawed. It may be obvious that the game has lots of potential, but it’s most engaging features could be undeniably flawed or not integrated into the experience.

    I love this game. I started following this game very early in development and while it was somewhat disapointing the updates sure made up for it. while im not a fan of the bosses or hunts vs animals i love the group fights and kind of miniboss enimies but sometime their movesets can feel unfair. Regardless this game is amazing.

    This is my very first PS5 game and I really loved this game, I understand that this game is only online game which I don't like it, but I really enjoyed it. Overall I'm really looking forward to see if they add offline mode for this game.

    Godfall doesn’t do anything egregious or worse than any of the other disappointing looters of this generation, but it does almost everything equally as badly in a weird perfect balance. This is what makes it so frustrating. There is definite potential for a gem inside this game, but it’s so busy with being a downright average-at-best looter that it loses all semblance of actual personality, a key component to maintaining a looter game. Impressively non-existent story, incredibly derivative art, classes which mean absolutely nothing, a deceptively small loot pool, technical issues up the wazoo, terrible endgame design and a horrific netcode all add up to a visually pleasing but soulless affair that can’t even begin to escape being categorised as anything more than a flashy tech demo.

    After wrapping Godfall, I was left with the feeling that it’s going to be a one-and-done. I can’t see myself doing its endless trials or repeating the endgame boss fights — it just doesn’t feel like there’s anything more to work towards. The graphics are great and the combat is enjoyable, but it gets samey too quickly and ends up as a typical next-generation launch game that will be soon forgotten.
