    Lots of fun. If you like borderlands or destiny or war frame this game is just like them! The most polished looter game I’ve ever played. There’s nothing to complain about it. Only “repetition” is the repetitive smiles you’ll get from playing this great ps5 game!

    Muy buen juego la verdad, para aquellos que JUGAMOS y lo comparamos con su genero, warframe,destiny,borderlands,etc. La verdad da lo que promete, sumado a sus buenos graficos y la brutal jugabilidad que tiene. Buenisimo. Lastima que le falto mas amor por parte de publicidad.     Initially bought the game at launch, then my ps5 died, thought he champion Ed would be cool, then learned there no content...just pass on this it's short,shallow and it's like a budget game for full price..

    The first few hours of gameplay I was asking myself,”Why all the bad scores. The combat is great!. I’m having a blast playing this!” Now that I’m at the end of the third area, I know. The first world has definable areas in it. The second, you can definitely get a bit lost in but the combat is still fun and by this time you’re starting to find your groove. The third is a hedge maze of sameness and you start to realize that the game really only has 3 levels of assets that were vomited into a semblance of “level design” So not only are the environments getting bland but all of the sudden the boss battles turn into pure stupid with multiple enemies spamming unblockable attacks that just juggle you to death. And holy crap, the constant stuttering. Every 15-20 seconds the game stutters, on a couple of occasions ending with a crash. This really is an empty shell of a game that has no real story, combat that falls flat and completely unbalanced toward the end and leaves you with nothing but a regret for wasting your time with it. At least that’s where I stand. I have ZERO intention of finishing this or even playing again. All I can say is THANK GOD I bought a used hard copy. Now I can at least sell it and get some of my money back.… Expand

    is it worth 60? no not at all, is it incredibly fun? yes! the combat and loot/min max experience feels really good and overall it seems very polished in the loot/combat department. How can the game be improved? idk but the game is missing something, idk what it is but when you play you will notice that it just doesn't feel full

    Unfortunately the game seemed like a hack n slash mobile phone game ..although it has fantastic visuals n does make great use of the ps5 ,also the audio is of very high quality ..but I couldn't tolerate the game my self had an hour or 2 and never returned to it

    This is a $20 indie game with a shiny coat of paint trying to act like a $70 AAA game. It also has severe stuttering and frame rate issues that affect the gameplay. Wait till the price drops and the patches to fix it up.

    Why do people keep saying this game 'looks good'? There's no RTX no DLSS no next gen tech, its just looks like how a game in 2020 is supposed to look like.

    Very repetitive combat, lack of content, and very buggy. No diversity of combat, no story, and the devs already said they aren't gonna improve on the game. For 70 bucks the game isn't worth it, it's not worth it at a lower cost in the future with no plans from the devs to improve on the game

    The story is your average "Guy turns to bad guy" story. The fighting is confusing, like really? No canceling attacks? The missions are bland. It's a scam.

    I liked the game at first, I REALLY did BUT the fact it’s story really isn’t cohesive, it’s short, and the god awful performance issues, especially in the post game tower of trials, I have to rate this a solid 1. It can look good all day but if the game is crap it’s crap. Call it what it is.

    Cherchant un jeu en multi, j’ai pris beaucoup de plaisir à parcourir ce jeu avec deux amis. Graphiquement très joli, le jeu s’avère particulièrement fun en raison de son système de combat assez technique mais surtout grâce à l’ascension de la tour. Certes, le jeu est imparfait (bug par ci par là, durée de vie assez faible) mais il mérite qu’on s’y attarde.

    The truth is I wasted my time testing the incomplete ps plus game. It is a very bad game, that from the beginning you ignore the story, game mechanics poorly made, repetitive, repetitive soundtrack, it is a trial version.

    Wollte es mal kurz antesten, da mich die eher schlechten Kritiken lange abgeschreckt haben. Hatte dann aber mit der Kampagne echt meinen Spaß. Die Welten boten zwar nicht gerade Abwechslung, aber die Kämpfe haben mir Spaß gemacht. Also einen Blick wert ist es auf jeden Fall, wenn man mit Hack'n'Slay was anfangen kann.

    So the godfall challenger edition is on ps plus for dec and it is a seriously cut down version which apparently doesnt have the full campaign mode. Which GB make you pay £40 for. For which I give it a zero out of ten.

    Honestly don’t get the hate for this game. What it sets out to do, it does very well. Much more enjoyable and polished than other games of its type at launch, and as many of those have shown, can only get better. Runs like a dream on PS5, as well.

The fighting is fun and starts out pretty easy, but quickly becomes more intricate as your character gains power and levels. I think it’s ridiculous that some of the reviews on this game give it a 1 or a 0. Butthurt... butthurt everywhere! I can’t think of a single game in the last 5 years that deserves a ZERO! That just seems juvenile IMHO.

    I’d suggest trying this game out for yourself. I did, despite tons of bad reviews, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. If you like THESE KINDS of games than you will like THIS game. If you expect this game to be another game, you will be disappointed. I think that with a bit of patching and expanding that this game has great potential, and it stands as a nice change of pace from web-slinging and first-person shooting.

    I give it a solid 7, I’d even go as far to say 8 if the devs could fine tune the sticky targeting system, as it gets a little wonky at times. GODFALL is a decent game full of beat em up melee fun.    … Expand

I love running through these dungeons, taking down the main target, and just changing up my gear…. Certain items you find in the world you can use to actually unlock new armours that have their own special fury attack.. I loved trying new characters and armours out.. though I would’ve loved to be able to copy my augments like I am with my weapon loadout hwne I want to try somebody new.. but these different armorus encourage you to build up and save different weapons, as you might be in a st that specializes in fire type weapons that cause burn damage, but theres and armour set that gives boosts for poison, or chilling damage.. I just love the idea of creating different legendary loadous for each of th armour sets… so no matter what, loot is worth searching for much like a borderlands game, even if your satisfied with what you have… these unwanted items just make you more and more powerful… so what are the bad things in godfall?
    Simply the destiny aspect, Godfall wants oyu to and even forces you to go back and replay missions to progress its story, it wants you going back and exploring the same 3 worlds over and ver again, and while the game is beautiful, the worlds aren’t really fun to explore…
    Traverse throough and kill everything in your way? Absolutely… seek out adventure on your own? Not so much.. its an eye roll when its time to grab these items from earth, water, and air relm before you can take on an areas boss, I would’ve much rather had a straightforward rpg game here and went back to explore by choice…
    Other than that Godfall is an absolute blast, this game is great and the rest of the world are a bunch of haters…
    Godfall is addictive and fun.. and while the world is lacking in any want to explore beyond credit roll, you can.. but im personally happy with an 8-10 hour long god building session…

    The game was already not excelling at all at what it has to offer, but Sony decided to make it worse by only giving PS+ users a lite version that doesn’t make sense at all. Sometimes I really do not get it! Not a big loss anyway, I was already starting to feel bored at the end of the tutorial.

I was ok with the fact, Sony scammed people who claimed the ps plus version of FF7 Remake and couldn't upgrade for free to PS5 version even though they owned the disc version. Got this free with PS Plus, you start at a max level account with everything possible already unlocked, and you're only allowed to navigate around a tiny room. When you try to do something, it takes you to the PS Store and tries to make you purchase the £70 version. What actually is the point.     I initially didn't give this game much of a chance because of the lack of matchmaking.
    I sat down last week and really put some time into it, and once you have some skillsets behind you, you can really string together moves. There is a certain powerful feeling that you get when you mass explode/soulshatter a big group of enemies with a warhammer, and feeling it in the right trigger.     To me godfall is the definitive meh game.
    It's not bad but not good either, combat is alright but nothing special(and a little confusing at first trying aim using a cross-hair in a strictly melee focused game) , and the cut-scenes somehow come off as ridiculous and overly serious at the same time.
    Like I said it's not a bad game but I also wouldn't recommend playing it.

    Graphics in this game are stunning. Visually the whole game looks very good and I do not share some opinions that it is too boring on terms of graphical mix. It has a certain style it re-uses but I found each of the areas pretty nice and different. The monster details are good especially for the bosses. It uses the next-gen power very good.

    Sound effects are too bland for my liking. There is nothing special and it misses the immersion. My 7.1 atmos surround feels very loud in comparison to other games in standard volume but the directional depths is not that well made. Also the soundtrack feels nice, if it is ever present which is not always and drives the feeling of emptiness.

    Which is is my next point. The maps are big, somewhat complex and irritating, there is no general map you only navigate by markers and "insight". The problem with this is.. it is boring and you get lost. Also the world itself is absolutely dead. Besides enemy groups here and there nothing hits your attention.

    Balance and progression is another good and bad. The loot is nice, the weapons are well designed and have different feelings to it. Alternating playstyles is fun and the combat has a depths... thats is so complex, sometimes you just wished it wasnt. Which is a little bit sad because the fighting is fluent and action-paced but so harsh to control sometimes. Newcomers might be in trouble. Difficulties peeks ever so often from overkilling to getting rampages by bosses everything is possible in a second. This is where the grind begins and I have to admit it gets boring fast. Considering I did quite some side-progression, it took me 8hrs to beat the campaign and I was HELLA bored at the end. I used to farm games like Diablo for ages... so I can safely its not on my end.

    To round things up you have the always online crap, you have stutters with the latest patch and I had one crash. The game seems to have a memory leak because it definitely gets worse over time although I feel the online mode might be responsible for the hiccups too.

    Summarizing... the game looks beautiful, it is fun. The combat leaves you with much to do and learn but the package does not fit. It gets boring fast and the game needs polishing ASAP. For the price tag it is absolutely not recommendable to buy. Please for your own sake wait a bit for more patches and get it at a decent sale of 50% then probably loot-grinding fans will have some fun with it.    … Expand

But with regard to the valor plates, they don't seem to play a whole lot differently. You've got a decent amount that focus on DoT stuff that are all more or less the same. More work needed to be put into this area.

    The story is non-existent, almost like they didn't even try to write one and just put in some cut scenes to break up the gameplay.

    In terms of end game content, it dries up pretty quick. If you're playing solo it could last you a bit longer since it will present more of a challenge. if you're in a group, it's not too hard. The fact that there is no matchmaking is a big letdown in this game. Once you clear all the dreamstones you're left with the ascended tower of trials. The tower is a serious time sink with absolutely zero checkpoints. Why there are no checkpoints is super bizarre. It can take 3-4 hours to get to level 50 in the tower which is required for the final trophy in the game. That's a pretty long chunk of time to dedicate to in one playthrough.

    Graphics look incredible. The particles are great and all of the realms look really good. One area that they missed the mark is regarding cosmetics of the valorplates. You have no option to change colors, etc.

Imagine being told about back to the future without the delorean, marty or doc. There is no excitement, no motivation bar raising stats and fighting the same things with slightly higher stats. I mean gaming is all about this but... never quite so in your face obvious as this. it drains any hope you have for next generation gaming.

    The game is pretty to look at, and it's very linear... i mean i'd tell you to explore but with the lack of map button (i mean seriously) you might end up getting lost and going in circles and it's just repetitive **** anyway (as pretty as it is, it's all just copy n paste with maybe different colours for different realms). The maps aren't even well thought out which is why there isn't a map button, the disappointment then would be much more real.

    Game throws a lot at you without really explaining anything, it'll tell you about spirit tethers and rubbish but not show you what one looks like.. so there's guesswork and hitting stuff involved at the beginning (honestly the tutorial and starting missions afterwards are badly thought out and will put you off the story part of the game anyway).

    You kill things (maybe like what 20 different enemy types which are then repeated with slightly different colours of textures). Hack and slash. Then loot 99% of useless junk, and one upgrade out of a 100 things. Then continue. It's not fun. it's not enjoyable, and it'll just waste away your life. Do anything else but play this.

    There's different armours to craft but that means grinding the mats to make them, and they're not all that different. in this game like destiny you'd have thought they'd make them a little more original and standalone with maybe classes (like tank, dps... or even paladin, mage etc) but really bar maybe a couple of things they all play and perform the same way)

    expect a lot of disappointment with this game and if you got just the PS Plus edition you'll only know disappointment. DO NOT upgrade to the story content, you aren't missing anything.... there is no real game.. it's JUST terrible. ALL Over.

    It had potential. HAD being the operative word. If anthem was never released. THIS would be the anthem. I'm sure the developer thanks the gods that anthem exists or this would have surpassed it in terms of quality, scale and terrible gameplay.

    This game is good for what it is advertised for. Good combat game in a beautiful world against cool bosses. Runs well too. If you want a good story or an action adventure game then play something else. This is a looter slasher. The weapons vary well. Armour plates are mostly identical though.

Switching weapons requires you to pause for a second and wait and then press the button. Sprinting takes too long to activate and sometimes doesnt work or just stops. Your character just isnt very fluid. There are others too but these stick out the most.

    Its not terrible, though, like some make it out to be. The graphics are pretty, the bosses/enemies are interesting and have good mechanics. It can get repetitive but thats just this type of game. The combat still has a fun factor but needs updating

    Performance issues exist but I expect that can be fixed too

    This game would be much better recieved if it weren’t for the $70 price tag. Its just lacking that extra polish to justify the full-price buy

    For a game that boasts flashy affects, a semi good story, and a feel of the game after just an hour, that's all you get. There is hope for the story but the gameplay is very repetitive. When it comes to the loot that you want, you have to spend hours grinding for the piece of equipment that you want and once you finally get it, you'd be lucky to get one with decent stats for your current level.

And that may be on me, as I didn't have anyone else to really do the end game with, and have bad luck with random players.     We have SO many bugs, also gamebreaking bugs. The performance on our highend-pcs is like we play it on the PS2. Even if you have a good average-FPS-performance, the game drops down very often and it's nearly impossible, also with lower graphics to play this game lag-free.

    Some gamebreaking bugs:
    - "GPU crashed or D3D Device Removed." and the game closes immediately (I searched for this bug and I only found it for fortnite (surprise surprise, a Gearbox game)
    - I can't attack with left mouse button until a complete game restart
    - I can't run
    - I can't press "C" which is the main-interaction button, so that I can't collect some items and port to another portal

    We played this game 3 days and we found more gamebreaking bugs than we found at all games, we played in 2020. Sometimes you can't block or some combo-attacks don't work but this is nearly the smallest problem.

    If I would exclude all the bugs the gameplay is ok but it's always exactly the same. Of course, games like borderlands have also a repetitive endgame gameplay but this game is from beginning until the end exactly the same. The maps and enemies are also very similar to each other. Also the story is really boring and you can't even skip these dialogues. There are only 2 NPCs who are telling the story. After every mission you run to one NPC, after that to the other. Sometimes one NPCs asks you what the other NPCs told you... but these two NPCs are standing in the same hall, maybe 30 meters distance.

    This game is perfect for memes, but not for playing. So if you can get it for maybe 20-30 $ and you really like games like Destiny, Warframe or Borderlands, you can give it a try. Maybe after the most of the bugs are fixed. But 60-80 $ is nearly robbery for this game. :'D    … Expand

    Godfall is sadly another game with good potential but lacking execution. From the lacking story to the repetitive missions. But its not all negative, the open world is beautifully shaped and the mechanics feel good. Would reccomend to buy Godfall in a sale and not for full price.

    all combat areas feel the same, all enemies feel pretty much the same and the gameplay loop is extremely repetitive and recycled, even for a looter.

    All of that would be passable if the combat was good but it sucks.
    I was amazed by how much it doesn't feel intuitive, the animations are super long and are not cancel-able, I just have to sit there while I watch the enemy throwing a punch while I can't do anything just because I decided to do a heavy attack, so frustrating and clunky, you can't even parry in the middle of an animation WTF???

    There are some cool mechanics like the soulshatter and weakpoints but when the combat feels so bad and control lacking, what's the point?

    Variety and loot is also non-existent as most of the plates have the same stats with different names but all revolve around damage per sec like bleed or chill but the play style is basically the same and I was encouraged to play with the plate I have the gear with the stat that boosts it's damage per second with no substantial depth and thought about creating cretin builds that will "feel" good or just different.

    Visually, the game looks nice, art wise, but after a while it feels like too much MSG on your food you can't even taste what's it made of anymore.

    Buying this excuse of a game was a huge mistake and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, it feels like the devs were lazy when creating it and just repeated a few elements with a different visual design, extremely disappointing.

    I gave it a 3 and not 0 just because there are some cool ideas and the skill tree is ok, but it doesn't matter when the gameplay feels so bad.

    I wish I could get a refund...

    This game has some stellar graphics, and also pretty fluid combat mechanics. My biggest gripe is that because there is no matchmaking. The game is advertised as an online only 3 player co-op looter. The bosses are designed for 3 players. Yet there is no in game matchmaking. This makes you mostly end up playing solo which can be extra difficult for some boss fights. GAME NEEDS MATCHMAKING!!

    The only thing Godfall has going for it is its great combat system. Everything else just came along for the ride. [01/2021, p.42]

    Godfall doesn’t do anything egregious or worse than any of the other disappointing looters of this generation, but it does almost everything equally as badly in a weird perfect balance. This is what makes it so frustrating. There is definite potential for a gem inside this game, but it’s so busy with being a downright average-at-best looter that it loses all semblance of actual personality, a key component to maintaining a looter game. Impressively non-existent story, incredibly derivative art, classes which mean absolutely nothing, a deceptively small loot pool, technical issues up the wazoo, terrible endgame design and a horrific netcode all add up to a visually pleasing but soulless affair that can’t even begin to escape being categorised as anything more than a flashy tech demo.

    After wrapping Godfall, I was left with the feeling that it’s going to be a one-and-done. I can’t see myself doing its endless trials or repeating the endgame boss fights — it just doesn’t feel like there’s anything more to work towards. The graphics are great and the combat is enjoyable, but it gets samey too quickly and ends up as a typical next-generation launch game that will be soon forgotten.
