    This game was way better than I hope it could be. I was super skeptical if this was going to be the Judgement Day of sequels or the Matrix ones and I am super happy it was the former I had so many hyped and teary moments in it that I can't even count 10/10 for me! My main criticisms are mainly from the technical and design side like companions giving hints too quickly for a puzzle and keepThis game was way better than I hope it could be. I was super skeptical if this was going to be the Judgement Day of sequels or the Matrix ones and I am super happy it was the former I had so many hyped and teary moments in it that I can't even count 10/10 for me!     I will start this off by saying, I am 32 years old and have been playing God of War since the series first started on PS2.
    When they came out with the 2018 version, i was blown away by the change of direction. Story was fantastic, plot twists happen. Overall great game. Since then, I have been waiting for the follow up to the 2018 ending.

    Let me say, I am not disappointed. The graphics on PS5 are amazing in high frame rate quality mode with a VRR display (LG cx in my case). The colors, textures, hair, fur, faces, backrounds. Its all amazing to see the amount of detail coming in every direction. There were a few times that I stopped and turned around to look at the sun ray coming through a cave as water dripped from above. It is just a beautiful experience.

    Sound was well done also. I tried using both a headset with 3d sound, and my home theater system. The way they handled the surround sound made me feel much more immersed than I ever did in the 2018 game.
    Accessibility options are here as well as controller remapping too. This was a welcome addition as the 2018 lacked many features for people with disabilities. I have a hard time with colors, so finding ravens was very difficult in 2018 for me. With the high contrast mode, I can see much more clear and I appreciate that. I wish they could've given options to remap the menu buttons to the 2018 style.
    Story is immersive and I constantly want to know what is going to happen next. I wont go into any detail to avoid spoilers but the amount of boss fights is awesome, and the animations feel much more fleshed out and life like.
    2018 balder fight felt stiff. 2022 thor fight was glorious.

    Controller haptics are great also. The way it feels when you through the ax is just pure enjoyment to me. I wish they wouldve added a little more to bows.
    To anyone looking for a great story, fun combat, beautiful animation, no loading screens, and overall great experience, I strongly suggest giving ragnarok a try.

    CONS:
    I like the 2018 interface better. I find it hard to figure out whats going on in the menus for armor and such. There is just too much information and its not easy on the eyes.
    I miss that the touch pad was only for the map before as well.
    Most times when i try to click the left side, it still pulls up the armor menu instead of the map.
    2018 handled this better overall.

    There are only 36 trophies. I was hoping for at least 50. as it helps with replayability.
    No new game plus at launch (another opportunity for more trophies too)
    2018 added new game plus roughly 4 months after releasing, but did not add trophies which was sad to me.
    No button remapping for the menu.

    Only other thing that i wish, was that it was longer because i didn't want it to end. It was a good length overall, but I did feel that some areas were rushed and could've been dove into more.

    Cons aside,

    I have never had a game that was so hyped that ended up over delivering in most areas. If you even compare screen shots from trailers to the final game, they reworked and added so much detail to scenes and game play and never once mentioned it until it was released for people to see themselves. Compare the trailer with Freya jumping onto the sled to the scene in the actual game. My expectations were exceeded.

    Overall, God of War Ragnarok is a masterpiece from one of the few companies that still cares about gamers. Their work speaks for itself and I am so thankful.    … Expand

    Amazing start and people complain about the pacing but personally I think its perfect. Amazing innovation on all aspects of combat and movement. I absolutely love the ending as well. This game gives a different experience. I felt true emotion towards the story of the game. Definitely my GOTY. Cant wait to see what Santa Monica has in store for the fans next.

    Definitivamente un juego épico con animaciones y jugabilidad estupenda, el diseño de monstruos y ambientes de los 9 reinos es encantador, cuenta con una excelente narrativa que resuelve las incógnitas que se había quedado pendientes en el juego anterior. Se valora muchísimo el empeño que han puesto cada uno de los involucrados en el desarrollo.     God Of Ragnarok is a true masterpiece. Honestly I’ve never done a review for a game before but I had to create an account just to make sure I review this game because it has been phenomenal from the first moment I started it up. 10/10!!

    Um game simplesmente incrível, que para min foi nota 10! Apesar da gameplay ser quase igual ao do título anterior, ele traz bastante novidade em combos e especiais, e muuuitos novos puzzles bem mais complexos que os do god 2018, em relação a performance do jogo, eu joguei no ps5 no modo performance. E o jogo está rodando lisinho a 60fps não notei nenhuma queda de fps durante minhaUm game simplesmente incrível, que para min foi nota 10! Apesar da gameplay ser quase igual ao do título anterior, ele traz bastante novidade em combos e especiais, e muuuitos novos puzzles bem mais complexos que os do god 2018, em relação a performance do jogo, eu joguei no ps5 no modo performance. E o jogo está rodando lisinho a 60fps não notei nenhuma queda de fps durante minha gameplay, que no momento estou com 47h de jogo onde já finalizei a campanha e busco a platina, terminei a campanha com 44 horas de jogo , isso pois não joguei com pressa, explorei cada área que o jogo deixava eu ir, para min sem dúvidas um jogo que vale apena apesar do preço salgado de 350 pela psn, uma experiência única que recomendo a todos!… Expand

    I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

    Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.
